Abstract

This article or writing aims to design a modern market in the city of Medan with a Post Modern Architecture approach. Everyone must have a hope in welfare because this is one of the important aspects in people's lives where it greatly influences economic growth in every area such as the city of Medan. The existence of a market is the most important thing in the world of economic business, buying and selling transaction activities will be tangible evidence and also as a benchmark in efforts to increase economic income in an area or region. Based on this, an idea for designing a modern market in the city of Medan arose, the intent and purpose of the design was made to simplify and provide professional comfort to potential customers in the surrounding area.

Abstract

The phenomenon of climate change impacts is starting to be seen in almost all countries in the world. The contribution of green cities is very impactful in overcoming the phenomenon of mitigating the effects of global warming. A green city is a city that prioritizes environmental balance that seeks to create comfort for city residents and visitors (Yunus, 2012). One of the development methods with regard to environmental sustainability for planned and built ecosystems, is a strategy to reduce adverse impacts on the environment during the development process by prioritizing efficiency and wisdom in using materials, energy, and space management. This article focuses on deepening the application of sustainable architectural design in an effort to realize a green city. The research is conducted on several applications of architectural design of commercial and tourism buildings that apply sustainable architecture. This effort is made to realize a green city environment through sustainable architecture applied to buildings and their environment. Using descriptive - qualitative method by examining the sustainable aspects that arise in the building.

Abstract

This study compares subsidized housing with Green Building housing based on cost, energy efficiency, occupant quality of life, and environmental impact. The government supports subsidized housing to provide affordable housing for low-income people, although the initial cost is low and often has ordinary building quality standards and higher operating costs. On the other hand, Green Building housing emphasizes sustainability by providing better energy efficiency, more efficient use of resources, and a healthier living environment. However, it requires a higher initial investment. The results of the analysis show that although subsidized housing is more economical at the beginning, Green Building provides significant long-term benefits in terms of energy and water savings and improves occupants' quality of life. Combining Green Building elements in subsidized housing development is recommended to improve the quality and sustainability of housing for low-income people. This study concludes that a hybrid approach integrating Green Building principles in a subsidized housing development can effectively solve housing and environmental challenges

Abstract

Water resources are currently one of the needs that are increasing due to the increase in population and the development of the industrial sector. This causes an imbalance in meeting water and raw water needs in the agricultural industry. Situ Ciherang and Cikande is one of the lakes in Serang Regency which functions as a water catchment conservation area useful for utilizing the water around it. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the availability of discharge and the volume of storage that Situ Ciherang and Cikande can accommodate. This research aims to analyze the mainstay discharge of Situ Ciherang and Cikande and analyze the storage capacity for the Situ Ciherang and Cikande areas. The data needed in this study are monthly rainfall data and topographic measurement results. The analysis used is rainfall analysis using the algebraic average method, and water availability analysis using DR model analysis. F.J. Mock, and in situ storage analysis. The analysis results show that the water availability of Situ Ciherang and Cikande is 4,902 m3/sec in the rainy season and 0.42 m3/sec in the dry season, for the storage capacity of Situ Ciherang and Cikande is 133,143 m3 with an elevation of +43.00.

Abstract

Population growth and the rapid development of globalization have made the province of North Sumatera, especially the city of Medan, experience a major impact, one of which is technological progress which provides added value in people’s lives, and the bad impact is changes in behavior in the community due to drug abuse among the community which causes high levels of crime is getting higher. In this research design, a descriptive qualitative data is processed to obtain data calculations needed for analysis, concepts and design results. This research aims to help the government reduce the number of people who use drugs and save people who abuse the function of these drugs, using a tropical architecture approach that is suitable for the climate in North Sumatra, Indonesia to maximize the function of the building

Abstract

The design of a building connection bridge at the main plaza is a crucial step in urban infrastructure development, enabling pedestrians to move safely and efficiently between various key points within an area. This study aims to understand the design of the connection bridge at the main plaza of Al-Amin Living Lab and Industrial Park in Sampe Cita Village, Kutalimbaru District, and how it will serve pedestrians. The research subject is the site location in Sampe Cita Village, Kutalimbaru District, Deli Serdang Regency, with the observed parameters being the physical and non-physical conditions of the design location. The results of this study show that the facilities and infrastructure of the connection bridge for the Mixed-Use Building of Al-Amin Living Lab and Industrial Park consist of circulation pathways connecting the Mixed-Use buildings and a viewing deck, and the design direction of the Mixed-Use Building of Al-Amin Living Lab and Industrial Park meets the criteria.

Abstract

Mixed Use Building is the combination of buildings with different functions, a mix of residential, commercial, and cultural buildings planned within a city. This research focuses on the design of a Mixed Use building, referring to the process of planning, illustrating, and developing a concept or idea for a building or physical structure. The aim of this research is to understand the design of the Al-Amin Living Lab and Industrial Park Mixed Use Building in Sampe Cita Village, Kutalimbaru District. The research material is the site location in Sampe Cita Village, Kutalimbaru District, Deli Serdang Regency, the needs of the academic community of Universitas Pembangunan Panca Budi regarding research land, and the potential development of the area as a tourist facility, in this case, a mall and other buildings that will support the activities of the area and the surrounding community. The results of this research explain that the facilities and infrastructure of the Al-Amin Living Lab and Industrial Park Mixed Use Building consist of a café, coffee shop, meeting room, viewing area, and toilets, and that the design direction for the Al-Amin Living Lab and Industrial Park Mixed Use Building has met the criteria.

Abstract

A mixed-use building refers to a combination of several different functions within a single structure, such as residential, office, shopping, and recreational functions built on one site. Designing a mixed-use building requires careful planning and consideration of various factors such as functional needs, aesthetics, and energy conservation. Additionally, the design of mixed-use buildings incorporates various functions within a single area. Floor slabs and beams use plain reinforcing steel with a quality of Fy = 240 MPa (Ø8mm). The concrete cover is taken as 20 mm. From the design results, several thickness types of slabs were obtained according to the load requirements that must be accommodated above them. The following are the moments acting on the floor slabs and beams. The reinforcement calculations are performed using the capacity strength design method according to SNI 2847-2019. The capacity design concept involves controlling the formation of plastic hinges at predetermined locations. The SAP2000 program can directly calculate the feasibility of the structural dimensions and the amount of reinforcement needed from the input program results. In the SAP2000 program, the concrete code used is the American concrete code ACI-318-05/IBC 2003, which differs in some respects from the concrete code in Indonesia SNI 2847-2019. Adjustments need to be made to comply with the regulations in Indonesia. Internal forces from the SAP2000 program are selected from load combinations that generate the maximum moments at the column face. The flexural and shear reinforcement for beams can be directly read from the SAP2000 output in the form of information on the required area of reinforcement

Abstract

The population growth rate, aligned with the increasing diverse needs, will raise the amount of waste/residue or refuse, both from consumption processes and activities carried out, in the form of trash. The purpose of this research is to understand the waste management system planning of Al-Amin Living Lab and Industrial Park. The research material is the site located in Sampe Cita Village, Kutalimbaru District, Deli Serdang Regency, considering and paying attention to the existing waste management system. Waste that is improperly disposed of will impact the surrounding community's activities, potentially leading to diseases. The data used in this study involved several data collection techniques, including field observations and document analysis, conducting direct observations in the field to examine waste management practices such as collection, sorting, transportation, and disposal. Based on the research results, it is explained that, in general, the planning activities for waste management in the Al-Amin Living Lab and Industrial Park area include containerization, collection, transfer, and transportation of waste to the landfill (TPA). In terms of waste management planning in the Al-Amin Living Lab and Industrial Park area, it will consider the needs of people, the amount of waste generated, containerization, and the Temporary Waste Storage (TPST) of the Al-Amin Living Lab and Industrial Park, as well as effective waste management.

Abstract

Indonesia is one of the countries with tropical climate. Hot conditions, humid air and high rainfall require architectural solutions that are responsive to the climate. It is common in Indonesia to use the concept of tropical architecture. Santo Fransiskus Asisi Catholic Church, Padang Bulan is one of the buildings that applies tropical architecture. This building is located in Medan Selayang sub-district and uses several applications of tropical architecture as a solution to problems in tropical climates. This research aims to see the extent to which tropical architecture is applied in this church building. The method used is descriptive explanatory, which describes the parts of the space and building with its response to the tropical climate. The results show some applications of tropical architecture in this building, such as the use of ventilation, sloping roofs, terraces and the use of local materials.
