Abstract

The low learning outcomes of students in mixed arithmetic operations are caused by difficulties in understanding the concepts and sequence of arithmetic operations and the limited use of interactive learning media. Therefore, an interactive learning media in the form of an Arduino Uno-based counting kit was developed as an alternative solution for mathematics learning in elementary schools. This study aims to develop an interactive learning media for the counting kit and test its feasibility and effectiveness in improving the learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 02 Karanggeneng, Grobogan Regency. The method used by the researcher is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE development model consisting of the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research subjects were 28 fifth-grade students with a saturated sampling technique. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, questionnaires, and tests, while data analysis was carried out qualitatively and quantitatively through a feasibility test, paired sample t-test, and N-Gain test. The results of the study indicate that the interactive learning media for the Arduino Uno-based counting kit was declared feasible by material experts and media experts. In addition, the use of this media has proven effective in improving student learning outcomes, as indicated by a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores and an increase in the N-Gain score in the moderate category. Thus, the Arduino Uno-based interactive counting kit learning media is feasible and effective for use in mathematics learning on mixed arithmetic operations in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the management of academic supervision in the implementation of a deep learning approach conducted by the Learning Committee at SMK Negeri 2 Kendal. The research employed a qualitative case study approach. The research subjects included the principal, vice principal for curriculum and staffing, vocational and general subject teachers, members of the Learning Committee, and students. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis, while data validity was ensured through source and method triangulation. The findings indicate that academic supervision management has been implemented through the stages of planning, organizing, implementation, and evaluation. Supervision planning was collaboratively developed and aligned with the Merdeka Curriculum policy. Organizing was carried out through clear task distribution; however, limitations remain in coordination and teachers’ understanding of the deep learning concept. The implementation of academic supervision focused on instructional mentoring, classroom observation, and reflective practices, although it has not yet been conducted in a consistent and sustainable manner. Evaluation activities were conducted, but systematic follow-up actions were still limited. This study concludes that academic supervision management plays a strategic role in supporting the implementation of deep learning in vocational schools; however, it requires strengthening in terms of consistency, conceptual understanding, and sustainability of supervision practices.

Abstract

This study was conducted to analyze the effects of initiative ability, entrepreneurial ability, and self-management on the work readiness of twelfth-grade TKR vocational high school students in Lamongan Regency. The study employed a quantitative approach with a causal-comparative design. The sample consisted of 152 students, while 34 students were involved in the instrument pilot-testing stage. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire and subsequently analyzed using multiple linear regression in SPSS 31. The results showed that all three variables had a positive and significant effect on work readiness, both partially and simultaneously, indicating that vocational learning needs to systematically strengthen students’ personal competencies.

Abstract

The influence of Adversity Quotient (AQ) on students' mathematical problem-solving in answering Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) type questions based on Polya’s steps is highly essential. This research employed an ex-post facto method involving 60 eleventh-grade students of SMA Bawari Pontianak. Data were collected through the measurement of students’ Adversity Quotient levels and a mathematical problem-solving test designed in accordance with Polya’s four-step process: understanding the problem, devising a plan, carrying out the plan, and reviewing the solution. The analysis results indicated a highly significant effect of Adversity Quotient on students' mathematical problem-solving abilities. A significance value of 0.00 (< 0.05) and a Pearson correlation coefficient of 0.421 suggest a moderately strong positive relationship. Students with high to very high Adversity Quotient tended to solve HOTS-type problems more systematically and effectively compared to those with moderate or low AQ. They were also more capable of completing all four of Polya’s steps comprehensively. These findings highlight that mental resilience, perseverance, and the ability to manage pressure are critical factors in successfully solving high-level mathematical problems. Therefore, strengthening students’ Adversity Quotient through instructional strategies and non-cognitive support is strongly recommended to enhance their problem-solving quality.
