Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of teacher stereotypes on the interest of students majoring in Early Childhood Education (PAUD) in pursuing a teaching profession. Employing a quantitative research method, data were processed using IBM SPSS version 16.0. The research was conducted across three universities in Semarang: Universitas PGRI Semarang, Universitas IVET Semarang, and UIN Walisongo. The sample comprised 122 PAUD students from the 2021–2024 cohorts, selected through convenience sampling based on accessibility. Hypothesis testing was carried out using simple linear regression analysis, determination coefficient (R²), as well as F-test and t-test, to examine the relationship between teacher stereotypes (independent variable, X) and students' interest in becoming teachers (dependent variable, Y). The findings indicate that teacher stereotypes significantly influence students' interest in choosing a teaching career. A more positive stereotype correlates with a higher level of interest among students to become teachers. These results provide valuable insights for educational institutions in developing strategies to enhance the appeal of the teaching profession among students and to improve public perception of the teaching role, thereby encouraging more individuals to pursue careers in education

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of using smart box media on improving the learning outcomes of elementary school students on the material of Indonesian Cultural Wealth. The background of this study is the low interest and learning outcomes of students in cultural materials, as well as the lack of utilization of interesting interactive learning media. The method used was a quasi-experiment with a nonequivalent control group design, involving fourth grade elementary school students in Sukabumi Regency. The subjects were divided into two groups, namely the experimental group using smart box media and the control group using interactive power point media. Data was collected through pre-test and post-test consisting of multiple choice questions and essays to measure the improvement of students' understanding. The results showed that the experimental group experienced a more significant increase in learning outcomes than the control group. The highest post-test score in the experimental group reached 100 and the lowest 75, while the control group had the highest 96 and the lowest 65. Statistical analysis with t-test showed a significant difference between the two groups (p < 0.05). These findings indicate that smart box media can effectively increase student engagement and understanding of cultural concepts. Therefore, smart box media is recommended as an alternative contextualized interactive learning media that can support the learning process in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the relationship between learning styles and academic stress among students of the Counseling Education Program at Sriwijaya University. Academic stress is often experienced by students due to high academic pressures, which can affect their learning performance. This research employs a quantitative approach with a descriptive design, involving students from the 2023 and 2024 cohorts. Data were collected using a Likert scale questionnaire. The results indicate that 70% of students who understand their learning styles experience a reduction in academic stress, while 60% of students with structured learning styles experience higher stress. There is a positive and significant relationship between learning styles and academic stress, where students applying appropriate learning styles tend to experience lower levels of stress. These findings suggest that awareness of individual learning styles can serve as a strategy for coping with academic stress. It is hoped that this research can contribute to the development of interventions aimed at reducing academic stress among students.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to examine the comparative effects of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model and the Conventional method on students' learning motivation. This research employs a quantitative approach with a Quasi-Experimental design. The study population consists of 30 sixth-grade students from SD Negeri 2 Denggen Timur, divided into two classes (VI.A and VI.B). Sampling was conducted based on learning motivation levels, resulting in 30 participants (15 with high motivation and 15 with low motivation). Hypothesis testing and data analysis revealed the following findings: A significant difference was found in learning outcomes between the PBL and Conventional groups. This was supported by an F(calculated) = 5.805, which exceeded the F(table) = 4.23 at a 0.05 significance level, leading to the acceptance of Ha and rejection of H0. An interaction effect was observed between instructional methods (PBL and Conventional) and learning motivation on academic performance. This was confirmed by an F(calculated) = 0.430 being greater than F(table) = 0.05, resulting in Ha being accepted and H0 rejected. High-motivation students taught using PBL achieved better results than those taught with the Conventional method. This was evidenced by t(calculated) = 1.892 > t(table) = 1.739 at a 0.05 significance level, thus supporting Ha and rejecting H0. Low-motivation students taught with PBL did not perform worse than those using the Conventional approach. The statistical result (t(calculated) = 1.833 > t(table) = 1.739) led to the rejection of Ha and acceptance of H0 In conclusion, PBL demonstrates varying impacts on learning outcomes, depending on students' motivation levels. Abstract

This study examines the potential integration of Sasak pantun as character education material at SMPN Satu Atap 1 Terara, East Lombok. Sasak pantun, a form of traditional oral literature, historically functioned as a medium for conveying moral messages and social values in Sasak society. Over time, the use of pantun has significantly declined, especially among the younger generation. As an educational institution situated within a culturally rooted community, the school holds strategic potential to revive the educational function of pantun through formal instruction. This research is grounded in the theories of character education based on local wisdom, cultural transmission, and contextual learning approaches. These frameworks are employed to explore the relationship between the cultural values embedded in Sasak pantun and the goals of character development in students. The study adopts a qualitative approach using the Miles and Huberman interactive analysis model, comprising data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Triangulation of sources and techniques was applied to ensure data validity. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with teachers, school administrators, and local cultural figures, as well as classroom observations and curriculum document analysis. The findings reveal that Sasak pantun contains values of religiosity, mutual cooperation, humility, and respect—core elements of character education. However, its integration is hindered by the absence of curricular policy, limited teaching resources, and insufficient teacher training. The study concludes that Sasak pantun plays a vital role as both a medium for character education and cultural preservation, and should be prioritized within school-based learning.
