Abstract

Indonesia is the fastest-growing country in digital adoption comparing to Brazil and China, as McKinsey's research report published on February 11, 2019. These facts and data were obtained from the research, which involved 17,000 people in 15 countries. The Covid-19 pandemic that has spread across the world, including Indonesia, promotes digital transformation and acceleration by changing ways to interact, learn, and work. As the largest archipelagic country in the world of 17,491 islands, Indonesia still has a wide digital divide. Internet access is still a luxurious thing and rare, especially for the islands of Natuna District on the state border. On the other hand, the government seeks to promote connectivity inclusion by providing internet access for 4,000 villages and sub-districts in 3T areas (disadvantaged, frontier, and outermost). It is needed various approaches to be strategies for managing state borders in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0. The theory used was state border management theory, human security, and theories related to digitalization. The methodological approach used was qualitative, with the expected research results is to provide solutions for border management strategies. Besides, a multidisciplinary approach is a characteristic of this research. Keywords: State Border Management, Digitalization, Human Security.

Abstract

Online learning plays a very important role in this current pandemic. All levels of education must implement online learning because face-to-face meetings are not possible. Many people complain that online learning is not effective. This is due to several thing, for example, the application of online learning requires accuracy to match students with their level of education, both in terms of strategy and application. This article discussed an overview of online learning by analysing the level of education and determining the appropriate technique. The results showed that analysis and preparation steps were needed. Therefore, it is necessary to do the right strategy in online learning activities by determining the techniques used. This is because a technique is not necessarily appropriate for all levels of education. The step must be appropriate for the level of education of the students. Next determine the application and implement the strategy. Keywords: education, online learning, techniques

Abstract

The teaching and learning Javanese language in high school during the covid-19 pandemic is challenging due to the limitations of face-to-face between teachers and students. The application of an innovative learning model called 'ireng manis' aims to overcome various obstacles in achieving Javanese language proficiency. The learning model of Ireng Manis (an acronym for mireng, nggunem, maca, lan nulis) is essentially a re-actualization of the audiolingual approach that is expected to incorporate all four areas of language skills, including listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Ireng Manis's innovative model uses memorization, practice, and repeat strategies. This model is designed by combining students' grammar and communicative competence in applying 'manners', a type of Javanese commonly used to respect older or more knowledgeable people. The technique is carried out by utilizing the development of communication technology, namely the application of chat menus (chat) and voice (voice) on WhatsApp as a learning medium. Keywords: the audiolingual approach, ‘ireng manis’ innovative model

Abstract

Entering this era of globalization and increasingly sophisticated technology, literature is not only seen as a part of art and culture that aims to entertain but is a means of learning language, studying history, developing character, and so on. Literature has become an important part of education. One of the objectives of literature, especially related to traditional children's literature in education, is to internalize the character values seen in the daily life of society, especially elementary school students. The rapid development of the internet and followed by increasingly sophisticated technological developments has influenced the lifestyle and character of most elementary school students. Coupled with the condition of the corona pandemic and all activities carried out at home, surfing activities on the internet are increasingly out of control. This is very worrying because the flow of information displayed on the internet and offers of online games, which are not all safe for children, are milling about on the internet and these things can affect the character of children, especially children in elementary schools. To overcome this, the role of children's stories as part of literature can be used in developing student character to be better because the stories displayed contain very good moral values. The role of teachers and parents is also very important to overcome the impact of the internet on elementary school students, namely through storytelling activities. With storytelling activities, students can learn various characters contained in children's stories. The purpose of writing this article is the existence of problems related to the decline in the level of community morality, especially students in elementary schools during the corona pandemic which is due to uncontrolled internet use. One solution that can be done is to strengthen the understanding of character education through traditional children's stories told by teachers and parents to students in elementary schools.
