The Biblio Couns Journal is a scientific journal in the field of Counseling and Education studies. The journal is published in three editions published a year, namely march, july, august. Biblio Couns is published by the Guidance and Counseling Study Program of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of Muhammadiyah North Sumatra, and in collaboration with the Association of Indonesian Guidance and Counseling Associations (ABKIN) with E-ISSN: 2620-3103. The purpose of the journal is to publish articles dedicated to all aspects of the latest outstanding developments in the field of counseling and education in all settings. The scope of the journal includes applications of school counseling, mental health, assessment, supervision in counseling, sexual harassment, violence supplementary counseling, multi-cultural counseling, crisis intervention, trauma counseling, ITC in counseling, career counseling, spiritual counseling, marriage and family counseling, counseling and psychotherapy, counseling in all backgrounds; Education (teaching, development, instruction, educational projects and innovations, learning methodologies and new technologies in education and learning, assessment). It was first published in 2018.

Abstract

Adolescents from single-parent families are one group that is vulnerable to experiencing difficulties emotional regulation. One potential way to support adolescent emotional regulation in schools is through group counseling, which are an effective method of providing social and emotional support. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of group counseling in improving the emotional regulation of adolescents from single-parent families. The research was conducted at SMP Negeri 7 Muaro Jambi with a sample of six ninth-grade students selected based on specific criteria related to emotion regulation difficulties. The research was conducted using a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design. Data collection was carried out by administering a modified Difficulties Emotion Regulation Scale (DERS), which was then analyzed using a T-Test and N-Gain Scale The results showed that the average pretest score was 68.7, with 46% of the sample falling into the low category. Meanwhile, the average posttest score was 103.3, with 69% of the sample falling into the high category. The Paired Sample Test results showed a Sig. (2-Tailed) value of 0.004, with an NGS calculation of 0.426, which falls into the moderate category. Based on the decision-making criteria, there was a significant difference in the level of emotional regulation before and after group counseling was provided. Thus, group counseling are effective in improving the emotional regulation of adolescents from single-parent families at SMP Negeri 7 Muaro Jambi.

Abstract

This study explores career planning among vocational high school students from low-income families and the factors inhibiting it. Data from five twelfth-grade students (KIP recipients) and two counselors were collected through interviews and document analysis. Findings show students’ career planning is immature, with unclear goals and uncertainty about post-graduation plans. Barriers include economic constraints, low self-efficacy, limited parental support, and underutilized school guidance services. Continuous and structured guidance is needed to foster realistic, self-potential-based career planning.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengidentifikasi intensitas penggunaan media sosial TikTok, tingkat prokrastinasi akademik serta menguji pengaruh intensitas penggunaan media sosial TikTok terhadap tingkat prokrastinasi akademik pada mahasiswa aktif Fakultas Studi Islam dan Peradaban Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kuantitatif. Responden penelitian berjumlah 106 mahasiswa yang memenuhi kriteria sebagai mahasiswa aktif FSIP UMY dan pengguna aktif media sosial TikTok. Proses analisis data dilakukan menggunakan bantuan program SPSS 31. Hasil analisis deskriptif menunjukkan bahwa intensitas penggunaan media sosial TikTok dan tingkat prokrastinasi akademik mahasiswa berada pada kategori sedang. Hasil hipotesis melalui analisis regresi linear sederhana menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media sosial TikTok yang berlebihan berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kecenderungan perilaku prokrastinasi akademik, dengan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,007. Nilai koefisien determinasi (R2) sebesar 0,067 mengindikasikan bahwa penggunaan media sosial TikTok yang berlebihan berkontribusi sebesar 6,7% terhadap perilaku prokrastinasi akademik. Sementara 93,3% lainnya dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain di luar variabel yang diteliti. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa meskipun TikTok berpengaruh terhadap prokrastinasi akademik, pengaruh tersebut bukanlah faktor utama.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze various types of family issues revealed on social media platform X through the community account @tanyakanrl, and to discuss the role of this account as a means of self-expression. The study focuses on the dynamics of family problems from September to November 2025, using a descriptive quantitative approach and purposive sampling method on 168 posts that met the criteria. The data were analyzed by categorizing each post based on indicators of family issues, such as communication among family members, finances, parent-child conflicts, jealousy, infidelity, and domestic violence. The study shows that individuals actively and continuously express themselves. Overall, this study illustrates how various family issues emerge and develop in digital self-disclosure. For researchers, the results of this study can serve as a foundation for further studies on how individuals express themselves on social media and the topics they frequently discuss. Meanwhile, for individuals engaging in self-disclosure, the presence of such accounts provides a safe space to express emotions, receive support, and gain a sense of security and comfort when engaging in disclosure communication without fear of social stigma. However, this study has limitations, including a relatively short research period, a time-consuming process of reviewing sample posts, and difficulties in verifying user identities due to anonymity.

Abstract

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a psychological approach that emphasizes the interrelationship between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors in understanding and addressing individual problems. This approach is widely applied in educational settings due to its structured nature, goal-oriented focus, and emphasis on developing adaptive cognitive and behavioral skills. This article aims to examine the theoretical foundations and implementation of CBT in guidance and counseling services, both in individual and group counseling contexts. The novelty of this article lies in its interpretation of CBT not merely as a therapeutic approach, but also as a systematic and evidence-based guidance and counseling strategy to support students’ cognitive development, learning motivation, and psychological well-being. The research method employed is a literature review by analyzing various scientific sources, including journal articles, reference books, and supporting documents relevant to the implementation of CBT in guidance and counseling practices. The results of the review indicate that CBT is effective in enhancing learning and achievement motivation, reducing anxiety levels, and optimizing cognitive development through techniques such as cognitive restructuring, self-monitoring, problem solving, behavioral rehearsal, exposure, and homework assignments. The conclusion of this study confirms that CBT is a relevant and applicable approach in guidance and counseling services, with its effectiveness strongly influenced by counselor competence, active client involvement, and the structured and contextual implementation of counseling services.

Abstract

This study was conducted to examine the influence of maternal educational support on students’ academic emotional regulation, with the aim of determining the extent of this influence. The study employed a quantitative method using a survey technique involving 101 students as research subjects. Data were collected via a questionnaire measuring maternal educational support and students’ academic emotional regulation. Data analysis was conducted using simple linear regressionwith the aid of SPSS software. The findings of this study reveal that a mother’s educational support has a significant effect on students’ academic emotional regulation (p 0.001). The coefficient of determination (R = 0.194) indicates that mothers’ educational support contributes 19.4% to students’ ability to manage academic emotions. These findings suggest that the higher the level of educationalsupport provided by mothers, the better students’ ability to regulate emotions related to academic activities.

Abstract

Konsep diri merupakan salah satu aspek penting dalam perkembangan remaja yang berpengaruh terhadap prestasi akademik dan penyesuaian sosial. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas layanan bimbingan klasikal dalam meningkatkan konsep diri siswa Sekolah Menengah Atas. Penelitian menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan desain pretest-posttest control group design. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 60 siswa kelas X yang dibagi menjadi kelompok eksperimen (n=30) dan kelompok kontrol (n=30). Kelompok eksperimen mendapatkan layanan bimbingan klasikal selama 8 sesi dengan durasi 45 menit per sesi, sedangkan kelompok kontrol tidak mendapatkan perlakuan khusus. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan Skala Konsep Diri yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya (α=0,892). Data dianalisis menggunakan uji paired sample t-test dan independent sample t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan signifikan konsep diri antara kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol setelah pemberian layanan bimbingan klasikal (t=8,742; p0,001). Kelompok eksperimen mengalami peningkatan rata-rata skor konsep diri sebesar 24,3%, dari 102,4 menjadi 127,3. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa layanan bimbingan klasikal efektif untuk meningkatkan konsep diri siswa SMA dan dapat diimplementasikan sebagai strategi preventif dalam program bimbingan dan konseling di sekolah.
