The Biblio Couns Journal is a scientific journal in the field of Counseling and Education studies. The journal is published in three editions published a year, namely march, july, august. Biblio Couns is published by the Guidance and Counseling Study Program of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of Muhammadiyah North Sumatra, and in collaboration with the Association of Indonesian Guidance and Counseling Associations (ABKIN) with E-ISSN: 2620-3103. The purpose of the journal is to publish articles dedicated to all aspects of the latest outstanding developments in the field of counseling and education in all settings. The scope of the journal includes applications of school counseling, mental health, assessment, supervision in counseling, sexual harassment, violence supplementary counseling, multi-cultural counseling, crisis intervention, trauma counseling, ITC in counseling, career counseling, spiritual counseling, marriage and family counseling, counseling and psychotherapy, counseling in all backgrounds; Education (teaching, development, instruction, educational projects and innovations, learning methodologies and new technologies in education and learning, assessment). It was first published in 2018.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran kepemimpinan guru dalam membentuk karakter siswa melalui penerapan kurikulum Merdeka di Sekolah Menengah Pertama (SMP).  Penelitian ni menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif studi kasus. Data diperoleh melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi pada  SMP Swasta di kota Pematang Siantar, dengan jumlah responden siswa 30 orang, Guru 10 orang dan 1 kepala sekolah.  Penelitian ini menghasilkan 3 hal,  yakni peran kepemimpinan guru dalam pembentukan karakter, kepemimpinan guru dalam  kurikulum merdeka dan kolaborasi kepemimpinan guru dengan budaya sekolah. Ke tiganya menunjukkan bahwa kepemimpinan guru dalam penerapan kurikulum merdeka  berperan penting dalam membentuk karakter siswa, melalui keteladanan, pembelajaran berbasis proyek, budaya sekolah positif, dan  menumbuhkan nilai-nilai utama Profil Pelajar Pancasila seperti keimanan dan ketaqwaan, disiplin, tanggungjawab dan empati Implementasi kurikulum merdeka belajar memberikan ruang bagi guru untuk menjadi pemimpin pembelajaran yang inspiratif dan adaptif terhadap kebutuhan siswa. Kepemimpinan guru merupakan faktor kunci dalam pembentukan karakter siswa, terutama bila dikaitkan dengan fleksibilitas kurikulum dan budaya sekolah yang mendukung.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of group guidance with brainstorming techniques in increasing student empathy. The background of this study is the importance of developing empathy as part of students' emotional intelligence in the school environment. The research method used is quantitative method with experimental research type with One Group Pretest-Posttest design. The research sample was 10 students who were determined using cluster sampling. The data in this study were obtained through pretest and posttest, then analyzed using descriptive statistics, normality test, and hypothesis testing with paired sample t-test method. The results of the analysis showed a significant increase in the level of student empathy, where the average empathy score rose from 88.10 in the pretest to 100.70 in the posttest. The significance value of 0.001 (0.05) in the hypothesis test shows that group guidance with brainstorming techniques has a significant effect on increasing student empathy. Thus, it can be concluded that this service is not only effective in increasing empathy, but also able to create a refreshing atmosphere and encourage students' active involvement in the guidance process.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of role models in shaping the character of students in the Department of Education, FKIP, Sriwijaya University. A descriptive quantitative approach was used with 84 students of the 2022 intake selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected using a Likert scale questionnaire and analyzed using the Generalized Linear Model (GLM). The results showed that role models have a positive and significant effect on the formation of student character with an influence coefficient of 0.404 or 40.0%. The better the students’ perception of role models, the better their character, especially in integrity, responsibility, discipline, and empathy. These result support Bandura’s Social Learning Theory which explains that role models influence individual values and behavior, as well as Peterson and Seligmen’s Positive Character Theory which emphasizes the importance of role models in helping individuals develop moral virtues and positive character. This study recommends that lecturers, alumni, and seniors play an active role as role models in supporting students to become future educators with character.

Abstract

Abstrak : Penelitian ini menguji efektivitas konseling kelompok dengan pendekatan cognitive behavioral (CB) dalam meningkatkan self-esteem siswa di MTsN 6 Solok. Rendahnya self-esteem pada remaja dapat berdampak negaif terhadap motivasi belajar, partisipasi sosial, dan kesejahteraan emosional. Penelitian ini menggunanan desain true eksperimental dengan rancangan pretest-postest control group. Sampel sebanyak 14 siswa dipilih secara acak dari populasi 52 siswa (7 siswa kelaompok eksperimen dan 7 siswa kelompok kontrol). Instrumen penelitian berupa skala self-esteem yang diadaptasi dari Guindon (2010) yang mengukur aspek kompetensi diri, penerimaan diri, dan sikap optimis. Validitas instrumen diperoleh melalu penilaian ahli (expert judgment)  dan reliabilitas dengan Cronbach’s Alpha (α = 0.87). Kelompok eskperimen menerima intervensi konseling kelompok CB sebanyak tujuh pertemuan yang diintegrasikan dengan nilai-nilai keislaman serta media video reflektif dan aktivitas kolase. Analisis data menggunakan uji t-independent samples dan analisis N-Gain. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan self-esteem yang signifikan pada kelompok eksperimen dibanding kelompok kontrol (P .001). Skor N-Gain sebesar 43% menunjukkan peningkatan pada kategori sedang. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa konseling kelompok pendekatan CB yang disesuaikan secara kontekstual dan diperkaya dengan nilai-nilai Islami efektif untuk meningkatkan self-esteem siswa madrasah.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between emotional intelligence and bullying behavior among eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 16 Kupang in the 2024/2025 academic year. The research employed a quantitative approach with a descriptive-correlational method. The sample consisted of 41 students selected through simple random sampling from a total population of 163 students. Research instruments included an emotional intelligence questionnaire with 39 valid items (α = 0.784) and a bullying behavior questionnaire with 50 valid items (α = 0.845). Data were analyzed using Pearson’s Product-Moment correlation test at a 5% significance level. The findings showed that most students had moderate levels of emotional intelligence (49%) and moderate levels of bullying behavior (46%). The correlation test yielded r = -0.458 with a significance value of 0.003 (p 0.05), indicating a significant negative relationship between emotional intelligence and bullying behavior. This means that the higher the students’ emotional intelligence, the lower their tendency to engage in bullying. These results highlight the importance of developing emotional intelligence through counseling services, character education, and collaboration between teachers, parents, and schools to create a safe, inclusive learning environment that supports students’ positive development.

Abstract

Every student  is faced with the demand to determine a career direction that aligns with their potential and interests. However, in the process of making career decisions, students confusion and need support from their closest environment, especially their parents. Effective communication between parents and children plays an important role in providing guidance, motivation, and information related to career choices. Based on this, the study aims to determine the relationship between parental communication and students’ career decision-making of students. This research with correlational studies with 218 students as sample. Data were collected using the parental communication scale and the career decision-making scale, each consisting of 40 items. Data analysis was conducted using the Pearson Product Moment correlation test with the help of SPSS version 22. The results showed a correlation coefficient of r = 0.578 with a significance value of p = 0.000 0.05, indicating a positive and significant relationship between parental communication and students’ career decision-making. These findings suggest that the better the communication established between parents and children, the better students are in making appropriate career decisions. Thus, parental communication plays an important role in helping students prepare for and determine their future career paths.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk untuk mengkaji literatur terkait konseling islami berbasis psikologi positif dengan berfokus pada konsep syukur dan sabar. Dalam kehidupan manusia kesehatan mental merupakan aspek penting yang tidak hanya ditopang oleh pendekatan psikologis tetapi juga spiritual. Konsep syukur dan sabar menjadi pondasi penting dalam penguatan kesehatan mental individu. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode kepustakaan atau library research yang bersifat kualitatif. Temuan penelitian ini berupa sinergi antara syukur dan sabar dapat digunakan sebagai strategi intervensi yang efektif untuk membantu konseli mengubah persepsi negatif, meningkatkan daya tahan psikologis, serta menemukan makna positif dalam setiap pengalaman hidup. Dengan demikian, konseling Islami berbasis psikologi positif tidak hanya berfokus pada pemulihan dari masalah, tetapi juga pada pemberdayaan potensi spiritual dan psikologis individu, sehingga mampu mengantarkan konseli menuju kehidupan yang bermakna, seimbang, dan diridhai Allah.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between self-control and academic burnout in class XI students of MAN 2 Deli Serdang in the 2024/2025 academic year. This study uses a quantitative approach with a correlational method. The population in this study amounted to 430 students and the sampling technique used a simple random sampling technique of 10% of the population, namely 43 students. The data collection instrument was in the form of a self-control and academic burnout questionnaire which was compiled based on theoretical indicators and tested for validity and reliability. Based on the data analysis that has been carried out using the product moment correlation test calculation, the results of the study were obtained, namely the correlation coefficient (r) of -0.544 and significance (p) of = 0.000 (p 0.05). The results of the study state that there is a relationship between self-control and academic burnout in class XI students of MAN 2 Deli Serdang in the 2024/2025 academic year. The results of the study indicate a significant negative relationship between self-control and academic burnout in students, which means that the higher the level of student self-control, the lower the level of academic burnout they experience. Meanwhile, the coefficient of determination obtained was 27.8%, which means that the influence of self-control on academic burnout was 27.8%, while family was 72.2% influenced by other factors not examined in this study.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui persepsi siswa terhadap pemanfaatan layanan bimbingan dan konseling di SMA Negeri 46 Jakarta. pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dengan desain penelitian korelasi. Populasi penelitian ini terdiri dari 324 siswa dan sampel yang digunakan berjumlah 76 siswa yang diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah angket. Berdasarkan pengolahan data penelitian dengan Korelasi Product Moment Pearson menggunakan IBM SPSS Statistic, diperoleh informasi bahwa pada hubungan Persepsi Peserta Didik terhadap Bimbingan dan Konseling dengan Intensitas Pemanfaatan Layanan Bimbingan dan Konseling diperoleh nilai signifikansi sebesar 0.000 nilai tersebut 0.05 maka H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima, yang artinya terdapat hubungan antara Persepsi Peserta Didik terhadap Bimbingan dan Konseling dengan Intensitas Pemanfaatan Layanan Bimbingan dan Konseling. Pada angka koefisien korelasi sebesar 0.604, artinya tingkat keeratan  hubungan (korelasi) antara variabel Persepsi Peserta Didik terhadap Bimbingan dan Konseling dengan Intensitas Pemanfaatan Layanan Bimbingan dan Konseling adalah sebesar 0.604 atau masuk dalam kriteria kuat.

Abstract

Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) is a feeling of anxiety or fear of being left behind when others undergo valuable experiences that one does not. Based on Solution Focused Brief Counseling (SFBC) theory, FoMO arises due to the inability of individuals to manage thoughts and feelings, resulting in problematic behavior. This study aims to understand the emotional dynamics and social interactions of adolescents who experience FoMO, focusing on three main indicators: self-esteem, social interaction, and social anxiety. The study used a qualitative narrative approach, with three adolescents from several villages in Kerinci Regency, Jambi, as informants. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and analyzed using thematic analysis techniques. The results showed that FoMO affects adolescents' emotional state and social interactions, particularly in triggering anxiety, worry, and low self-esteem. Adolescents' responses to FoMO vary, depending on their level of ability to manage social pressure. These findings provide important implications for Guidance and Counseling (BK) practitioners in providing emotional mentoring services, self-esteem strengthening training, and education on the healthy use of social media. In addition, BK also plays a role in introducing coping techniques and social comparison reduction strategies to support adolescents' psychosocial well-being.
