al-Afkar, Journal for Islamic Studies is published by Association of Secondment Lecturers (Asosiasi Dosen DPK) UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung Indonesia. Focus of al-Afkar, Journal for Islamic Studies is on publishing original empirical research articles and theoretical reviews of Islamic Studies, it covers various issues on the Islamic studies within such number of fields as Islamic Education, Islamic thought, Islamic law, political Islam, and Islamic economics from social and cultural perspectives and content analysis from al-Qur’an and Hadist.
In other than forementioned field in Islamic Studies, al-Afkar, Journal for Islamic Studies also accepts articles which cover the topic on the cross section between Islam Studies and other scientific field, such as sociology, law, economics, and others.

Along with the massive issue of Domestic Violence (DV), Islam as a religion that focus on peace and elevates the status of women actually gets a distorted understanding, namely affirmation of domestic violence, precisely in Surah An-Nisa verse 34, 35 and 128 which is only understood textually where the husband is allowed to separate the bed and beat his wife. So, it is necessary to conduct an in-depth study of the verse to analyze the issue of affirmation of domestic violence in Islam. This study was conducted with a literature study through sources relevant to the topic. Through this research, it was found that Islam has never affirmed the existence of domestic violence. Through the study of tafsir and asbabun nuzul of the verse concerned, Islam states that men have the right to lead the family and wives are obliged to obey their husbands in matters justified by religion. The husband's advantage over the wife should not be abused to commit violence against the wife. The verse explains the solutionthat are presented in the event of nusyuz between the two in different and detailed ways. These methods are also relevant to the psychological conditions of women and men, so the statement that Islam justifies domestic violence is an unjustified statement.

Currently, in the social reality around us, possession of property is considered the standard of one's happiness, and having wealth is considered a sign of good luck. Therefore, it can be considered that the main reason why humans tend to pursue wealth is because of the perception that the need for wealth is comparable to the need for family or descendants. It is best to remember that the wealth in this world basically belongs to Allah SWT, as the Creator and Ruler of the universe and its contents. Therefore, wealth owned by humans should be considered a trust from Allah SWT, and humans are entrusted with managing it responsibly in accordance with the rules contained in the Koran and the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad, both for life in this world and in the afterlife.

Student Islamic boarding schools have a crucial role in shaping the character and national identity of the younger generation. One of the programs implemented in student Islamic boarding schools is the national insight program. This research aims to determine the extent of the implementation of the national insight education program at the Ummul Quro Al-Islami Institute (IUQI) Bogor student Islamic boarding school. This research uses descriptive-qualitative methodology. Data collection techniques in this research are documentation, observation, and interviews. The national insight education program at the Bogor Ummul Quro Al-Islami Institute (IUQI) student Islamic boarding school is implemented in the study of religious moderation, field practice, community service and arts and culture activities.

This article aims to describe the method used by Harald Motzki in exploring the authenticity of hadith and to describe his refutation of Orientalist skepticism towards hadith. Since the 19th century scientifically, orientalists began to study the authenticity of hadith as a source of Islamic teachings, the skeptical attitude of some orientalists was challenged by Muslim thinkers and several other orientalists. For Motzki, both camps have not answered the substance of the question of the authenticity of the hadith itself, he also uses certain methods in answering this. This type of research is qualitative with a descriptive-analytical method. This paper aims to reveal Harald Motzki's hadith methodology and forms of criticism of the thoughts of Orientalist figures systematically, so that readers can understand the sensitive points in hadith studies that are the target of Orientalist criticism and how to respond to them. . The results show that Motzki succeeded in proving that the Prophet's hadith can be traced back to the first century Hijriah using Musannaf 'Abd al-Razzaq as a sample. Then, Harald Motzki succeeded in breaking the theories of his predecessors with the theory of dating and isnad cum matn. He counterattacked criticism of the sanad of Ignaz Goldziher and Joseph Schacht, criticism of the common link and gold isnad of G.H.A. Juynboll. Apart from that, the contribution he made became a spark for the birth of scientific studies on hadith in the future. For example, the isnad cum matn theory is often used to identify the quality of a hadith to this day.

مهارة الاستماع هي إحدى المهارات اللغوية الأربع التي يدرسها الطلاب أول مرة قبل دراستهم المهارات الأخرى. كفاءة الاستماع الجيدة تفيد فهم الأفكار الأساسية. معهد دار الفلاح له تعليم مهارة الاستماع في البيئة اللغوية وتلك البيئة مفروضة تشتمل على مهارة الاستماع ولكن الطالبات لم يستخدمن اللغة جيدة وأما طالبات الفصل الأول هي بداية في الدراسة بمعهد دار الفلاح فالقدرة على استماع اللغة العربية لازم ولأنها أساسا لمواجهة السنوات المستقبلة داخل الفصل أو خارجه بهذا المعهد، فستبحث الباحثة في هذا البحث عن إحدى المهارات اللغوية وهي مهارة الاستماع ومن ثم اختارت الباحثة هذا الموضوع "تعليم مهارة الاستماع لطالبات الفصل الأول بمعهد دار الفلاح للبنات". ومن أهداف هذا البحث هي 1. معرفة تعليم مهارة الاستماع لطالبات الفصل الأول بمعهد دار الفلاح للبنات. 2. معرفة أسلوب تعليم مهارة الاستماع لطالبات الفصل الأول بمعهد دار الفلاح للبنات. هذا البحث من نوع الدراسة الوصفية الكيفية. واستخدمت الباحثة منهج المقابلة، الملاحظة، الوثائق المكتوبة. وفي تحليل البيانات اختارت الباحثة أسلوب تحليل البيانات مليس وهبيرمان، تأتي بأربع خطوات هي: جمع البيانات، وتخفيض البيانات، وعرض البيانات، والاستنباط أو التحقيق. النتائج التي حصلت عليها الباحثة في بحثها هي (1) تعليم مهارة الاستماع للفصل الأول بمعهد دار الفلاح للبنات يتكون من البيئة اللغوية كأحوال المعهد دار الفلاح تشمل على المحاضرة وبيئة اللغة الرسمية كل أسبوعين والامتحان الشامل للغة العربية ومحكمة اللغة بقسم إحياء اللغة المركزي، ويتم برنامج مسكن وهي المحادثة ومحكمة اللغة للمسكن والاستماع والمشاهدة، وأما تعليم مهارة الاستماع من حول المدرسة يتكون من تعليم مواد الدراسي لطلبة الفصل الأول بمعهد دار الفلاح وتشغيل الحوار في المدرسة (2) وأسلوب تعليم مهارة الاستماع في معهد دار الفلاح للبنات وهي أسلوب الترديد مباشرة ويظهر ذلك ببرنامج البيئة اللغوية الرسمية كل أسبوعين، محكمة اللغة لقسم إحياء اللغة بمنظمة الطالبات، المحادثة، محكمة اللغة المسكن. ثم بأسلوب الاستماع للحفظ والاستظهار ويظهر ذلك ببرنامج المحاضرة. ثم بأسلوب الاستماع للاستيعاب وذلك يظهر ببرنامج الامتحان الشامل للغة العربية وتعليم المواد الدراسي. ثم بأسلوب الاستماع لاستخلاص الأفكار الرئيسية وهذا يظهر في برنامج تشغيل الحوار في المدرسة وأنشطة الاستماع والمشاهدة. فبعد ملاحظة نتائج البحث، اقترحت الباحثة على طلّاب العلم الاهتمام بدراسة مهارة الاستماع فينبغي أن يتعمّق في التعليم مهارة الاستماع في اللغة العربية.

The background of the problem in this research is the change in social restriction policy and the transition of learning from face-to-face to distance learning. This change affects the learning process, especially in the Ismuba subject at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Gamping Sleman, requiring teachers to find new effective strategies to deal with this challenge. In this context, it is important to explore how Ismuba teachers at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Gamping Sleman face and overcome learning challenges after the Covid-19 era. This research will highlight the learning conditions before and post the pandemic, covering changes that have occurred in learning methods and approaches, as well as their impact on student learning outcomes. The method used is a descriptive qualitative method, some interview data collection, observation and documentation with primary data from three teachers, each of whom teaches ISMUBA subjects. Secondary data was obtained through books, journal articles and internet media, which adapted to this research. The results of this study indicate that learning strategies and conditions play a role in increasing the quality of learning at Muhammadiyah 1 Gamping Sleman Middle School, including: 1) Post-Covid-19 ISMUBA Learning Conditions at Muhammadiyah 1 Gamping Sleman Middle School have changed to face-to-face (offline) this has made learning experience an increase. 2) The ISMUBA learning strategy to increase the quality of ISMUBA learning in the post-covid-19 era at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Gamping Sleman uses a computer-based e-learning blender strategy and is adapted to student learning styles. 3) The benefits of post-covid-19 ISMUBA teacher learning strategies at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Gamping Sleman provide benefits such as increased grades achieved, and students' interest and interest in learning has increased.

In human life there are many problems that will be faced so that all problems will not be resolved without help from Allah. Throughout human history, religion and belief have played an important role in shaping the values, behavior and social structure of society. One important aspect of religious belief is the concept of Allah or God's help, which has a significant impact on the outlook on life of individuals and society. This research has important relevance in further understanding how religion influences society and social dynamics. This research is qualitative research in which all data collection is taken using library research by analyzing books or articles related to the research subject. Meanwhile, the approach used is a qualitative analytical descriptive approach by describing and describing data from primary and secondary readings and then analyzing them to draw conclusions.

Injustice is felt by women in Indonesia in various fields of life including the family institution. Based on data from the Ministry of Empowerment and Child Protection that by the end of 2022 there were 18 thousand more cases of domestic violence. And from these data almost 80% of victims are women. With these conditions and facts, it can be concluded that women do not understand their position as wives in the family, so they are very vulnerable to domestic violence. The type of research that the writer uses is a juridical-normative type of research. In this study, the collection of legal materials was carried out through Library Research, in the form of documents and laws and regulations related to this research. From these discussions, it can be concluded that the existence of family law rules in Indonesia, if specifically reviewed, still contains points that contain gender bias. However, in general review, the materials contained in KHI seem to have shown an equal position between men and women. The binding rules between men and women can be considered fair in the context of Indonesian society which has its own cultural pattern with a society structure that tends to be pluralistic.

This research investigates the history of the introduction of Islam in Tanah Karo, a region rich in cultural and historical heritage in Indonesia. Against the backdrop of religious and cultural diversity in Tanah Karo, this research aims to answer the question of how Islam entered and developed in Karo society. The research method used includes a historical study with analysis of literature, archives, and other primary sources. The results revealed that Islam entered Tanah Karo through various channels, including trade and dissemination by ulama. The process of Islam entry was influenced by the social, political and cultural context of Karo society at the time. The conclusion of this study is that the entry of Islam in Tanah Karo was the result of a complex interaction between internal and external factors, and became an integral part of the historical development and cultural identity of the Karo people.

Whichever perspective is used is the authority of each person in understanding the Qur'an, what is mandatory is studying the meaning contained in the verses of the Qur'an, both from a historical and other perspective. The purpose of this writing is to explain an understanding of history based on the verses of the Koran, which is the basis for thinking for Islamic historians. The method used in this research is a historical approach, which involves interpretation and collaboration. This article uses Ibn Kathir's book of tafsir as a reference for interpreting the verses of the Qur'an. Muslims are obliged to read history, because to increase self-confidence through the stories contained in it, the verses of the Qur'an provide an overview of the changes that have occurred in human life as a contribution to building a modern society with the perspective of the Qur'an. 'an starting from its initial emergence, development, peak of progress, setback, until collapse.
