Abstract

The main objective is to explore the constraints and solutions in increasing public participation in sharia financial services at Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI), particularly in Medan, North Sumatra. The proposed hypothesis is that sharia financial literacy and effective education can increase public awareness and interest in BSI services. The method used is qualitative with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through structured questionnaires, interviews, observations, and documentation from 115 BSI customers in Medan. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing and verification. The results indicate several main obstacles, namely the low level of sharia financial literacy (only 12.5% of respondents have a strong understanding of sharia financial principles), the limited effectiveness of promotions (50.9% feel the promotions are quite effective, while 23.7% find them less informative), and technical challenges such as difficulties in migrating the application to Beyond (37.5% of respondents) and the instability of the BSI Mobile application (59% of respondents). The recommended strategies include strengthening community-based education programs, collaborating with educational institutions, diversifying promotional media, and investing in technological infrastructure. The importance of financial and technological literacy in enhancing sharia financial inclusion is a key focus, while also providing strategic recommendations for BSI to expand its service reach. The results are expected to serve as a reference for the development of more inclusive marketing strategies and educational programs.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the experiences of Generation Z Muslims in Medan City in dealing with the Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) phenomenon that arises due to the intensity of social media use in everyday life. Using an exploratory qualitative approach and phenomenological design, this study explores the subjective meaning given by respondents to digital social pressure and the internalization of Qur'anic values such as qana'ah, gratitude, and tawakkal as spiritual coping mechanisms. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with 20 participants and analyzed using thematic analysis methods. The results showed that FoMO manifested in the form of social anxiety, pressure to appear online, to feelings of envy and inferiority due to the culture of comparison on social media. However, the values of qana'ah and gratitude have been shown to provide inner peace and reduce the tendency to compare oneself, while tawakkal strengthens psychological and spiritual resilience. Respondents also developed digital-spiritual balance strategies through limiting online time, selecting positive content, and using social media as a means of preaching. This study concludes that Islamic values can be a foundation in forming personal digital ethics and reducing the negative impacts of social media. These findings encourage the development of a digital literacy curriculum based on Islamic spirituality as a response to the challenges of identity and mental health in the digital era.

Abstract

This research explores the concept of balanced living ("keseimbangan hidup") within Islam through a comparative analysis of Tafsir Al-Mishbah by M. Quraish Shihab and Tafsir Ibn Kathir. Employing a qualitative descriptive method with a thematic interpretive approach, the study examines how both interpretations address the multifaceted aspects of a balanced life. The analysis reveals points of convergence and divergence, particularly concerning the balance between worldly and otherworldly pursuits, the integration of physical, intellectual, and spiritual dimensions, and the responsibilities towards oneself, others, and the environment. This comparative study contributes to a richer understanding of the Islamic concept of balanced living by highlighting the nuanced perspectives offered by these two influential tafsirs.

Abstract

This research explains the implementation of the Sidogiri Qur'an Method (MQS) in improving the fast way of reading the Al-Qur'an at the Zainul Anwar Islamic Boarding School. The Sidogiri Qur'anic method is an integrated approach to learning the Koran which has received widespread attention in the world of Islamic education. The Zainul Anwar Islamic boarding school in Alassumur Kulon utilizes the application of reading the Koran using the Sidogiri Qur'an method which was pioneered by a Salaf Islamic boarding school located in Pasuruan with the name "Sidogiri Islamic boarding school". The type of research used in this research is qualitative research with a case study type. The data collection techniques used in this research include three methods, namely, observation, interviews and documentation. The research objectives of this article are as follows: First, Implementation of the Sidogiri Qur'an method in improving how to quickly read the Qur'an. second, What are the steps for learning the Sidogiri Qur'an method at the Zainul Anwar Islamic boarding school. third, What are the supporting and inhibiting factors in learning the Sidogiri Qur'anic method at the Zainul Anwar Islamic boarding school. The results of this research confirm that learning the Koran by applying the Sidogiri Qur'an method at the Zainul Anwar Islamic boarding school is on target in accelerating the fluency of students so that they can read the Koran quickly and accurately, including the pronunciation of the letters and the recitation. The implementation of learning the Sidogiri Qur'ani method at the Zainul Anwar Islamic boarding school is carried out in accordance with the Sidogiri Qur'an method guidebook. This method uses two learning systems, including pure classical reading and classical listening reading. There are weaknesses in implementing the Sidgiri Qur'ani method at the Zainul Anwar Islamic boarding school, such as student delays and short time. Meanwhile, the advantages of using the Sidogiri Qur'an method are that it is taught simply, practically, does not add material before the students are completely fluent, is always alert, and reprimands the students if they read the wrong reading.

Abstract

This study aims to understand and compare the implementation of three main concepts of leadership in Islam Imamah, Khilafah, and Ulil Amri in the socio-political context of democratic and plural Indonesia. Using an explorative-comparative qualitative approach through literature study and critical discourse analysis, this study analyzes classical religious texts, state policy documents, and socio-religious narratives to identify the legitimacy structures, leadership mechanisms, and the relevance of the three concepts to the modern governance system. The findings show that although Imamah and Khilafah have strong theological and historical depths, only the Ulil Amri concept has gained broad legitimacy in Indonesian religious and political discourse. This concept is considered compatible with the principles of constitutional democracy and Islamic ethical values such as amanah, ‘adl, and maslahah. This study formulates a contextual Islamic leadership model that is a synthesis of the three approaches, offering an ethical and functional framework to strengthen governance that is characterful, inclusive, and accountable. These results provide a conceptual contribution to the development of an Islamic leadership paradigm that is relevant to the challenges of the modern nation-state.

Abstract

Baby blues syndrome is a psychological problem often experienced by postpartum mothers, characterized by anxiety, mood swings, and emotional stress. From an Islamic perspective, the hadith of the Prophet Muhammad SAW offers guidance on calmness, patience, and social support that can help mothers face these emotional challenges. This study aims to explore the effectiveness of the hadith approach in overcoming baby blues syndrome using a mixed methods method, namely a combination of qualitative and quantitative approaches. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, quantitative questionnaires using the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS), and participant observation of postpartum mothers at the Madina Pratama Clinic, Medan. The results showed that mothers who had a better understanding of the hadith on calmness and patience tended to have lower levels of anxiety. In addition, worship practices such as dhikr, prayer, and reading the Qur'an play a role in improving maternal emotional well-being. However, several inhibiting factors in the application of the hadith approach include lack of access to relevant Islamic education, limited time for worship due to being busy taking care of babies, and lack of social support from the surrounding environment. This study provides insight that a hadith-based approach can be an effective method in dealing with baby blues syndrome if supported by more inclusive religious education and a strong social support system. Therefore, the integration of Islamic teachings and modern psychological approaches in postpartum maternal health services needs to be further developed to improve maternal mental well-being.

Abstract

This study discusses the implementation of voting rights for non-domiciled university students in the 2024 Simultaneous Elections in Bandung City. The research aims to examine the mechanisms and obstacles in the protection of political rights for non-domiciled students by the General Elections Commission (KPU) during the 2024 elections, based on Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning General Elections. In addition, the siyasah tanfidziyah perspective in this study highlights the government’s responsibility to ensure accessible political rights for student groups with high mobility. This research was conducted using a qualitative method with a juridical-empirical approach. The findings indicate that although technical regulations such as the mechanism for moving voting locations are available, administrative, socialization, and technical barriers still hinder the optimal participation of non-domiciled students. Government policies should reflect the principles of siyasah tanfidziyah, such as justice, trustworthiness, and responsibility, in guaranteeing the voting rights of all citizens.
