Abstract

This study explores the history and development of MTsN 2 Deli Serdang and its influence on shaping students' character. MTsN 2 Deli Serdang was established in 1994 with the vision of becoming an Islamic educational institution that excels in fostering a generation of morally upright individuals. The research employs a historical approach, utilizing document analysis and in-depth interviews to understand the role of the madrasa in addressing the challenges of character education in the modern era. The findings reveal that the madrasa consistently integrates Islamic values into its curriculum, extracurricular activities, and Islamic learning environment. The urgency of this study lies in the increasing challenges of globalization, which threaten to erode Islamic values in shaping the character of younger generations. This madrasa plays a vital role in shaping a generation that is not only academically competent but also possesses strong Islamic character by balancing knowledge and religious education. Through innovative and adaptive teaching methods, MTsN 2 Deli Serdang remains relevant in providing quality education, supported by exemplary teachers, family involvement, and community engagement. As a solution to the challenges of character development in the modern era, the madrasa combines traditional approaches with modern learning technologies without neglecting religious values. Activities such as worship routines, tahfiz programs, and extracurricular activities based on Islamic values effectively build students’ character. The madrasa also actively forges relationships with the community through social activities that strengthen students' roles as beneficial individuals within their communities. This study is expected to serve as a model for the development of Islamic education in Indonesia, particularly in shaping a young generation with strong character and high integrity. MTsN 2 Deli Serdang demonstrates that Islamic value-based education can provide a holistic solution in nurturing a generation ready to face global challenges without losing their Islamic identity. Through consistent and innovative approaches, the madrasa contributes to creating individuals who are excellent, morally upright, and capable of making positive impacts in various aspects of life.

Abstract

Muslim scholars play a central role in the development of knowledge that is beneficial and aligned with Islamic ethics, which emphasize moral and social responsibility in every scientific endeavor. However, awareness of these responsibilities still requires reinforcement so that scientific activities are not merely oriented toward academic achievement but also generate tangible social benefits. This study aims to identify implementable strategies for fostering moral and social responsibility among Muslim scholars from the perspective of the philosophy of science. The research employs a literature-based qualitative approach using critical descriptive analysis of key concepts in Islamic philosophy of science, scholarly ethics, character education, Islamic utilitarianism (maslahah), empathy, and Islamic hermeneutics. The main contribution of this study lies in the formulation of an integrative conceptual framework that connects Islamic philosophy of science with practical strategies for cultivating ethically responsible and socially committed Muslim scholars. The findings indicate that the integration of Islamic values, the strengthening of character education, and the development of empathy play a significant role in shaping scholars’ moral awareness and social responsibility. The implications of this study provide a conceptual and practical reference for Islamic educational institutions and scientific communities in developing an Islamic scientific culture oriented toward knowledge as an act of worship and as a means to enhance social welfare.

Abstract

Abu Nawas, a prominent poet from the Abbasid Dynasty, was renowned for his poems that reflected various themes of life, ranging from praises to rulers to ascetic and religious poetry later in his life. This study aims to analyze stylistics in Arabic literature, particularly the poem Humility and Hope for Divine Forgiveness by Abu Nawas. Stylistics, known in Arabic as ‘ilm al-uslub, is a linguistic and literary study that focuses on the style of language in literary works. This research adopts a qualitative method with a library research approach. Data were collected from various sources, including books, articles, and journals. The findings reveal that the verses in the poem Humility and Hope for Divine Forgiveness by Abu Nawas fall under the category of Uslub Adabi (literary style) since uslub refers to expressions that use language as their medium. This can be observed in the poem's exaggerated praise of Caliph Harun al-Rashid. However, with his humility, Abu Nawas composed poems aimed at criticizing contemporary poets who often imitated ancient poets by subtly introducing themes of ruin. When he recited the poem The Caravan of the Bani Mudhar, considered offensive to the Caliph, Harun al-Rashid became angry and imprisoned him. After his imprisonment, Abu Nawas's poetic themes transformed into more religious ones. This transformation can be seen in his psalms of hope for divine forgiveness, reflecting his spiritual journey toward God. He began contemplating resurrection and life after death, which led him to alter the tone of his prayers and supplications to Allah. Additionally, three character education values are embedded in the poem: humility, honesty, and religiosity.

Abstract

A country is prohibited from collecting its citizens' assets without a legal basis. Taxes are one of the country's primary products and an essential part of financial policy. Scholars argue, based on ijtihad, that taxes (dharbah) are permissible and arise for reasons that are different from zakat, which is an obligation on the wealth of Muslims. The other side says that no (harmful) tax is permissible or impermissible according to Sharia. Many scholars argue that taxes are prohibited, while others argue that they are permissible. Therefore, we can view tax law, especially in Indonesia, as being based on the maqashid of Sharia. If analyzed from the perspective of two levels of maqashid of Sharia according to As-Syatibi: Al-Daruriyah & Al-Hajjiyyah. Therefore, it can be concluded that consumer tax law is permissible for the benefit and must be obeyed by those who are obliged to pay consumer taxes to avoid undesirable dharuroh.

Abstract

Euthanasia is a global issue that continues to be debated, especially from a legal and ethical perspective. In Islamic law, the principle of protection of life (hifz al-nafs) is the main basis for rejecting the practice of euthanasia. However, there is a fiqh principle Ad-darurah tubih al-mahzurat which permits prohibited actions in emergency situations, thus giving rise to debate whether this principle can be applied to euthanasia. This study aims to examine the application of this principle in the context of euthanasia based on Islamic law and compare it with positive legal regulations in various countries. The research method used is a qualitative study with a normative approach, involving literature analysis from classical books, fatwas of scholars, Islamic legal journals, and positive legal regulations. The results show that Islamic law generally rejects euthanasia because it is considered contrary to the principles of maqasid sharia. Although there are fatwas that permit certain medical procedures in emergency situations, euthanasia remains categorized as an act that is not permitted by Islamic criminal law. In contrast, several Western countries have legalized euthanasia with strict regulations, unlike Muslim countries, which generally prohibit the practice. The conclusion of this study confirms that the application of emergency rules in euthanasia must consider the principles of maqasid sharia as well as broader ethical and legal aspects. Therefore, further study and coordination between Islamic scholars, medical professionals, and policymakers are needed to formulate regulations that align with Islamic principles and developments in modern medicine.

Abstract

Dropshipping is a growing digital business model in e-commerce. However, from an Islamic economic perspective, this system creates legal dilemmas related to product ownership and contract transparency. This study aims to analyze the relevance of Yusuf Al-Qaradawi's maqashid sharia to the dropshipping concept to determine whether this business model complies with Islamic economic principles. The research method used is a qualitative approach based on literature review, with deductive and comparative analysis of maqashid sharia. The results show that dropshipping can be implemented in Islamic economics, provided there is clarity in the contract, transparency of information, and protection of consumer rights to avoid gharar. Therefore, clearer sharia regulations are needed for dropshipping practices to ensure compliance with maqashid sharia.

Abstract

This study examines the application of maqashid syariah as a framework for product innovation at BMT As’adiyah, an Islamic cooperative, in the digital era. The five core principles of maqashid syariah hifdz ad-din (religion), hifdz an-nafs (life), hifdz al-aql (intellect), hifdz an-nasl (lineage), and hifdz al-mal (wealth) serve as the foundation for developing financial products aligned with Islamic values. Using a qualitative approach and a descriptive case study method, data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis, then processed using thematic analysis and triangulation techniques. The findings show that digitalization has improved operational efficiency, expanded access to Islamic financial services, and strengthened the protection of maqashid principles. Innovations such as Islamic education savings and digital ZIS (zakat, infaq, and sadaqah) platforms illustrate strategic developments. The study concludes that integrating maqashid syariah with digital technology can enhance the relevance, competitiveness, and social impact of Islamic cooperatives.

Abstract

Education is one of the most important aspects of human resource development in a country. In Indonesia, the cost of education is often a determining factor in parents' interest in enrolling their children in certain schools. Many parents feel pressured by the high cost of education, so they are forced to choose schools with lower costs even though the quality may not be as good as the more expensive schools. This study aims to explore more deeply the relationship and the degree of influence between tuition fees and interest. This study applies a quantitative approach with a correlation method that aims to determine the extent to which variables in one or more factors are interconnected. Data was collected by giving questionnaires to 248 student guardians. The results show that tuition fees have no effect on parents' interest in enrolling their children at SDIT Ibu Harapan Bengkalis.
