Abstract

This research in background by the importance of good mathematical connection ability must be mastered by elementary students as one of the goals of learning mathematics. The purpose of this study, namely: 1) describe and compare between students who received learning Accelerated Learning Cycle and Conventional Learning to the ability of mathematical connections; 2) describe and compare the ability of mathematical connections and students' early mathematical abilities. This research is a quasi experimental research with experimental design in the form of group comparison. In this research plan the sample used consisted of two groups, where in each group applied different learning. The first group (experimental group) received learning Accelerated Learning Cycle, the second group (control group) applied conventional learning. The research location is in SD Negeri 136 Pekanbaru which is a medium category school. Categories are becoming the researcher's choice, because the schools in this category are mostly schools in Pekanbaru City. Based on the results of data processing, analysis, and discussion that has been presented, obtained the conclusion, namely: 1) improvement of mathematical connection ability of students who obtained learning with Accelerated Learning Cycle better than students who received conventional learning. Where the average mathematical connection ability of students who get Accelerated Learning Cycle (experimental class) is 22.78, while the average mathematical connection ability of students who obtain conventional learning (control class) is 17.03; 2) There is no significant difference in mathematical connection ability of students who obtained learning with Accelerated Learning Cycle in terms of students' mathematical ability. The significance value of equivalence test of mathematical connection data of control class students and experiment class, this is indicated by the significance value of both categories is more than 0.025. Whereas in the initial ability of low category, the significance value less than 0.025, so the null hypothesis is rejected, which means the mathematical connection ability of the experiment class students is better than the control class.

Abstract

In SMP 40 Pekanbaru, many problems of students in the learning process IPS caused by external factor as the influence of friends environment and internal factors as learning approaches, methods, media or learning tools are used. These problems must be repaired because in addition to results in student learning outcomes that are still below the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM), the learning of Social Sciences (IPS) also has a central role in the intellectual development of social, emotional students and is a supporting success in studying of the other fields of study. The reseacrh was designed with the class action research by the Kemmis and McTaggart models in the form of spiral cycles. The results showed that the application of role palying learning methods have improved IPS learning outcomes of VIII.D graders at SMP 40 Pekanbaru in the years of 2017th with an average value class and the percentage of KKM achievment during the pre actions was 69.3 and 36%, in the cycle I was 78.6 and 69%, and in the cycle II it became 85.1 and 95%.

Abstract

Understanding the concept has a vital role in the scientific literacy of primary school students. The qualitative case study used in this study as a method to reveal the misconceptions types of primary school students in science, especially Physical processes. The results show that primary school students have a variety of misconceptions in forces, floating-sinking, light, electricity and magnetism, and the Earth and space. Based on the findings of the study, further research is recommended to understand student learning processes and misconception's remediate using cognitive conflict.

Abstract

This study aims to create a comfortable, beautiful, and effective learning environment. The study applies the school action research by implementing learning based conservation using daily activity plans and environmental care observation sheets. The subjects of this study are 37 elementary students from Sekolah Dasar Negeri (SDN) 023 Pulau Kijang in the 2017/2018 school year. The research instruments consist of student and teacher observation sheets. The findings indicate that learning based school environmental conservation could improve students’ learning results. The average of students’ learning result in the first learning cycle was 64.86, and it improved in the second learning cycle into 84.94. This means that conservation in the school environment can improve students’ awareness of environmental care in SDN 023 Pulau Kijang

Abstract

The background of this study is caused by third-grade students’ low learning outcome in SDN 161 Pekanbaru. It is indicated by their social science test scores from 24 students. A minimum completeness criterion in this school is 75, but the number of students who score above this criterion is 8 students, and 16 students are below the criteria. The average score is 66.46. To solve this problem, the researchers apply a talking stick cooperative learning model assisted by question box media. This model is believed in supporting teachers in improving the learning activities because it can build a better classroom atmosphere that triggers students’ spirit and make students more active to express their opinions. Media use also makes students more interested in the learning process and stimulate students' emotional and intellectual involvement. This study applies the classroom action research that consists of two cycles. The subject is the third-grade students at SDN 161 Pekanbaru. After the implementation of the classroom action research, students’ learning outcomes increase from 66.46 to 75.83 in the first cycle (increase 14.10%), and 82.92 in the second cycle (increase 24.77% from the initial score). So, the implementation of the talking stick cooperative learning model assisted by question box media can increase third-grade students’ social science learning outcomes in SDN 161 Pekanbaru

Abstract

This study aims to determine the differences and increase in mathematics learning outcomes of third grade students of Pekanbaru Pekanbaru Elementary School between before (pretest) and after (posttest) applying the Indonesian Realistic Mathematics Education Approach (PMRI). The research method used was an experiment with the research design of one group pretest-posttest. This research was conducted in class III of SD Negeri 144 Pekanbaru in the odd semester of the 2018/2019 academic year on material money math subjects. The research subjects were class III students, amounting to 21 people. Data on mathematics learning outcomes were collected using a test technique in the form of a multiple choice objective test. Based on the results of data analysis and discussion, it can be concluded that there are differences and improvements in mathematics learning outcomes of Grade III students of Pekanbaru Pekanbaru Elementary School between before (pretest) and after (posttest) applying the PMRI approach. This is proven based on the results of data analysis obtained in the study. This difference is based on the results of the t test. Obtained tcount fulfills the criteria of t count> t table or 4.5881> 2.0423. with the average N-Gain of 0.38 included in the medium category with. This shows that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, meaning there are differences and improvements in student learning outcomes. Based on the evidence it can be concluded that implementing Indonesian Realistic Mathematics Education (PMRI) has a positive influence on the results of mathematics learning for third grade students of Pekanbaru Elementary School 144

Abstract

Traffic and road transport have a strategic role to support national development and integration as part of efforts to promote public welfare as mandated by the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia. As part of a transportation system that has to be developed its potential and role to create security, safety, discipline and smooth traffic and road transportation in order to support economic development and the development of science and technology, in Law number 22 of 2009 concerning traffic and road transportation, it is explicitly stated that there is a sharpening of the formulation of principles and objectives, which is in addition to creating traffic and road transportation that is safe, secure, discipline, smooth and integrated with other transportation models, the Law aims at supporting the national economy, realizing public welfare and national unity, and upholding the dignity of the nation. Therefore, aspects of security and safety are a concern in realizing ethics and cultures in a cross-disciplined manner, through efforts of guidance and education from an early age in elementary schools in a sustainable manner so that it is expected to reduce the number of traffic accidents which tend to be dominated by school age. One reason is due to the many violations and less knowledge of legal awareness in traffic. Ethics and cultural of traffic is implemented in the teaching and learning process that is integrated through 2013 curriculum since early age with techniques and methods of learning that are conducive and correct with teaching materials for elementary school so they understand traffic procedures that can benefit themselves and others, and in the end can realize security, safety, order and smooth traffic

Abstract

The problem in this study is the lack of student activity because of the lack of conformity to the learning model with the science learning process, causing a lack of student activity in science learning. This research is to increase the activity of class IIIB students in Pekanbaru. Elementary School in science learning by applying the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model. This study uses classroom action research. The data in this study are quantitative data. This can be seen from the percentage of student activity in the initial visual observations on student activities paying attention to the teacher with a 42.8% increase. In the activity of observing the experiment with an increase of 86.1%. In oral activities on the activity of issuing opinions with a 66.6% increase. In student activities ask with an increase of 19.4%. On listening activities, when listening to teachers with an increase of 42.88%. On the activity of hearing the results of group discussions with an increase of 80.5%. In writing activities, the activity of writing experimental results with an increase of 50%. In the activity of doing evaluation with an increase of 49.91%. Drawing activity with 41.6% increase. In the metric activity, the activity of choosing tools and materials with a 75% increase. The activity carried out experiments with an increase of 72.2%. From the explanation above that by applying the Contextual Teaching and learning model can increase the activity of students in science learning students of class IIIB SD Negeri 191 Pekanbaru

Abstract

This research is motivated by the difficulty in teaching geometry caused by the learning that is not appropriate, so students’ mathematics learning results are low. For that reason, there is a need to improve learning by applying the Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) learning approach. The purpose of this study is to improve the mathematical learning results of fifth-grade students of SDN 035 Taraibangun, Kampar, through the application of the STAD cooperative learning approach. This research is a classroom action research (CAR) consisting of two cycles and its implementation is in the fifth grade. The location of this research is carried out at SDN 035 Taraibangun, Kampar. Data collection has been done using test items and observation sheets. The results showed that in the initial cycle before learning using the STAD approach, student mathematics learning results were low with an average score of 58. After the implementation of the STAD approach, students’ learning results in the first cycle increased with an average value of 84, and the results of observation sheets showed that students could work with their groups and know their peers. Then, in the second cycle, the students’ learning results increased to 91. In addition, the results of observations showed that the students worked with their groups and were familiar with peer tutors. Therefore, the research hypothesis is accepted. It means that the application of STAD could improve mathematics learning results about the volume for the fifth-grade students at SDN 035 Taraibangun, Kampar.

Abstract

This study aims to measure the cardiorespiratory fitness of players in the Football Student Activity Association of the Muhammadiyah University of Purwokerto in 2017. This study is a qualitative descriptive method. The population is all players of Football Student Activity Association of the Muhammadiyah University of Purwokerto, with a total of 16 people (respondents). The instrument of the study is the Multi-Stage Test with the reliability of 0.9 and the validity of 0.6. Data analysis techniques used are descriptive with percentages and 6 categories; excellent, very good, good, moderate, lack, and fail. The results show that the level of cardiorespiratory fitness of the football players in the Student Activity Association of the Muhammadiyah University of Purwokerto is in the medium category, no one in the fail and lack category, 8 people (50.00%) with the moderate category, 4 people (25.00%) with the good category, 2 people (12.50%) with the very good, and 2 people (12.50%) with the excellent category.
