Abstract

The linguistic aspect is one of the essential components of the Khutbah, significantly impacting the text's formation as a coherent structure that contributes to persuasion and influence. However, it depends on fulfilling textual criteria, including syntactical and lexical cohesion. Thus, the research aims to examine the availability of linguistic cohesion tools in the Friday Khutbah text by Muhammad Said Ramadhan Al-Buti, with an indication of its function at the level of interdependence and correlation between the components of the Khutbah grammatically and lexically. The research utilizes the descriptive analytical method in reaching its primary objective by investing the textual linguistics or grammar in the light of the cohesion criteria that take the characteristic of consistency and continuity in the Khutbah. One of the study's most important findings is that the Khutbah was characterised by employing two main tools of grammatical cohesions, namely reference: indicative and conscientious, and linking with various forms: additional, affective, reversal, and causal. The tools of lexical cohesion in the Khutbah are represented in repetition (complete, partial, and parallel) and the link with the relationship of correspondence and antagonism, similarity, synonymy, and complementarity. These cohesion tools perform five functions: formation of the Khutbah and the connection between its parts, linguistic economy, confirmation of the meaning of a single idea, clarification and elaboration of the focus of the Khutbah, and expansion by integrating several ideas into one theme. Considering this, the preparation of the Friday Khutbah should consider these cohesion tools with other textuality criteria to ensure the success of the message delivered to its recipient.

Abstract

The present research intends to investigate the names used for the woman's veil in pre-Islamic poetry (Jahili Poetry) using a pragmatic method to determine the significance of those phrases, how they were passed down through the generations, and how they evolved. The study will be conducted along three axes: the pragmatic approach concept, the status of the veil among Arabs, and the presentation of specific terms and texts relevant to the veil, as well as a "lexical semantic analysis" of those terms. Research findings and suggestions: The poetry of Jahili contains a plethora of tongues for woman's vile. Poets utilized them in various ways based on the conditions of women and their social standing since women can be free, enslaved, urban, nomadic, large, and little. Research on the languages and components of the woman's veil throughout Islamic history should be prioritized. Additionally, the interrelationships between the modern and ancient veil should be investigated, and its importance and cultural and literary qualities should be sought through literary texts of poetry and prose. Overall, the study of pre-Islamic poetry and the veil can significantly impact the teaching of Arabic. By gaining a deeper understanding of the Arabic language's cultural, social, and linguistic aspects, students can better appreciate the historical context and cultural richness of the language. This research can provide important insights into the interrelationships between the modern and ancient veil and can help to deepen students' understanding of the language and its use throughout history.

The instruments used were user assessment questionnaires, vocabulary mastery tests, interviews, and participatory observations. Data analysis using Paired Sample T-Test. From the comparison of pre-test and post-test scores of users of the Digital Indonesian Arabic Dictionary, it is known that there is an increase in mastery of Arabic vocabulary in Indonesian Umrah Hajj pilgrims. They rated this dictionary product as good, sufficient, and excellent in aspects: user interface, word search, usage examples, translation features, and application quality. The Digital Indonesian Arabic Dictionary still has to be developed with new technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), Big Data, Metaverse, and so on.

Abstract

The point of this study was to talk about Muhammad Abid al-Jabiri's Bayani approach and how it could be used as an epistemological foundation for designing Arabic instruction, especially in the Arabic reading comprehension course. This research used a type of library research, where the authors collected data from books, journal articles, and other written materials, then coded it and analyzed it through content analysis according to the thematic categories that have been formulated. The findings of this research indicated that Al-Jabiri's Bayani approach, despite all criticism, can be used as an epistemological basis in designing Arabic language instruction, especially in the Reading Comprehension course. Factually, this instructional pattern has become a tradition in traditional pesantrens. However, it can be developed in formal education, including by adopting Reigelut's taxonomy of instruction variables. Namely considering learning condition variables, which included objectives, characteristics of teaching materials, constraints, and learner characteristics. Manipulating instructional method variables, which included three strategies: organizing, delivering, and managing instruction and we are measuring and evaluating instructional outcomes related to effectiveness, efficiency, and attractiveness.

Abstract

The research describes the systematic development of Arab critical theory in Arab heritage. This research applies Al-Marzuqi's 'Amood al-Sher' theory to the elegy penned by Abu al-Ala Al-Ma'arri for his mother. The methodology follows the distribution of Al-Marzuqi's seven articles for the 'Amood al-Sher' and its application to Abu al-Ala Al-Ma'arri's elegy for his mother. This research also examines an ideology on the possibilities of creativity in ancient Arab criticism despite numerous contradictory viewpoints. In addition, it makes a concerted effort to reconsider the "Amood al-Sher" theory to develop it, work on it, and thoroughly study it to foster originality in Arab criticism. The study concludes that Al-Ma'arri's "elegy" met the conditions for "Amood al-Sher." In addition, the possibilities of generalizing this theory to the Arabic poem to develop its rhetorical and literary innovation. These seven portions or points and their respective academic and intellectual standards illustrate the poem's inventiveness.

Abstract

There is a phenomenon of decreasing students' tendency and interest in learning listening skills. It is assumed that the underlying cause is the use of teaching materials and learning serial books, which contain several patterns and cultural dimensions that do not have direct contact with the conditions of students and their surroundings, even their academic and social experiences. This study aims to 1) Design teaching materials for the listening skills derived from the students' natural situations and 2) discover their validity and suitability for teaching listening skills in the Department of Arabic Language Education. This study uses the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) research and development model developed by Reiser and Mollenda. Data collection methods were obtained through observation, interviews, and questionnaires, while the analysis technique used descriptive quantitative analysis. The results of this study are: 1) Natural situation-based teaching materials are designed with a student contextual approach consisting of teacher books and student books, where each book contains thirteen learning themes, each theme includes two learning materials, and each learning material contains audiovisual texts and listening exercises. 2) The Listening Skills teaching materials designed using the natural situation approach were declared valid based on the assessment of two experts with a total score of 94.75%, and the predicate was very good. The teaching material is considered feasible and suitable for improving students' listening skills and arousing their interest based on the value of the questionnaire, which reaches a percentage above 90%. The theoretical conclusion of this study is that using listening skills and teaching materials based on a natural situation is more appropriate and able to attract students' attention and inclinations in the learning process.
