Abstract

The horticulture commodities (chilies and shallots) acts as a food ingredient. Market efficiency needs to be considered in order to achieve economic stability, so it needs to be studied their market integration (between Angsoduo and Talang Banjar Market). This research aims to: analyse commodity prices phenomena and market integration. Data were analysed descriptively and inferentially by using the Coefficient of Variance (CV), t test and the Market Connection Index (IMC). The results showed that there was no difference in the variance or price of chilies on the different market. IMC value for red chilies was less than one (-0,165< 1), which means there was integration between Talang Banjar and Angsoduo Market. There was a significant difference between shallot price in both market. As well as there was also a significant difference on variance of shallot prices between the two market (Talang Banjar (1.0875) and Angsoduo (0.0426)) but there is no market integration on shallot (IMC (7.89) > 1). Keywords: shallots, chilies, price, horticulture, stability

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the feasibility of revitalizing the Rice Milling Plant (RMP) in Wonosari Village, Mesuji Timur District, Mesuji Regency, considering existing conditions, expenditures, revenues, and financial and non-financial engineering strategies. Through comprehensive data collection and in-depth financial analysis, this study identifies challenges faced by RMP, including infrastructure requiring updates, suboptimal management, and fluctuating raw material prices influenced by global economic conditions. The findings indicate that, under current conditions, RMP is financially infeasible based on indicators such as Net Present Value (NPV), Gross Benefit-Cost Ratio (Gross B/C), Net Benefit-Cost Ratio (Net B/C), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), and Payback Period (PP). However, with the implementation of a series of engineering strategies including production optimization, infrastructure improvement, product quality enhancement, and effective marketing strategies, RMP can achieve business feasibility. Sensitivity analysis confirms the importance of strategic adaptation to changes in raw material and product prices. This study concludes that the revitalization of RMP requires a holistic approach integrating financial, operational, and marketing aspects to create a viable business and support local economic development. The success of revitalization efforts will heavily depend on synergistic cooperation between the government, the private sector, and the farming community

Abstract

Agrotourism is an integration of two sectors that support each other holistically, namely the agricultural sector and the tourism sector. It is hoped that by designating a location as agrotourism, regional original income (PAD) will increase, which will be accompanied by an increase in the income of local farmers. Through agrotourism, pineapple gardens are able to make a good contribution to the economy of Tangkit Baru Village, more specifically, pineapple farming income. The aim of this research is to (1). find out the picture of pineapple plantation agrotourism, (2). to determine the level of farmer income and (3) to analyze the factors of agrotourism products and services as well as digital technology that influence the income of pineapple farmers in Tangkit Baru Village. Quantitative research analysis method using the SEM-PLS technique with a sample size of 99 people. The results of the research show that the income level of agrotourism pineapple farmers in Tangkit Baru Village is categorized as high with a monthly income greater than the 2024 Jambi Province UMP, and the community is also on average prosperous as seen from indicators of the level of fulfillment of basic needs, social needs and development needs. Agrotourism products and digital technology has a real significant effect on the income of agrotourism farmers, while agrotourism services have an influence but not significant on the income of agrotourism farmers, because income from agrotourism services is only collected individually, there is no standard governance and rules at agrotourism locations, especially parking services.

Abstract

Community Forestry is one of the social forestry schemes in an effort to resolve land conflicts and forest and land rehabilitation (RHL) problems in State Forest Areas. Apart from that, Community Forests also provide opportunities for local communities who have lived around forest areas for generations to be able to use area land for business activities in planting both seasonal crops and forestry plants. The fundamental problem in supporting communities in managing state forest land is the lack of capital to invest as output costs during management activities. Through the KUR loan facility, it is hoped that people who are members of social forestry management groups can make it easier to use as initial capital to invest. This research will be carried out in the Community Forest (HKm) in Air Terjun Village, Kerinci Regency, Jambi Province. This research consists of several studies and uses analysis of several investment criteria, including Net Present Value (NPV), Net Benefit Ratio (B/C Ratio), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), which is an indicator to find out the level of efficiency of an investment, and Payback Period (PP). Analysis of the feasibility of cultivating agroforestry patterns shows that the Net Present Value (NPV) value in years 1 to 10 is greater than 0, which means it is worth cultivating, while the Net B/C Ratio calculation value in years 1 to The 10th year gets a value greater than 1, meaning it is worth pursuing, while the IRR value in years 1 to 10 gets a percentage value greater than 10%, meaning it is worth investing in. Meanwhile, the Payback Period value (investment return time) is 0.23 years.

Abstract

East Tanjung Jabung District is one of the rice barns in Jambi Province, with rice production in 2022 reaching 24,562 tons of GKG, making it the 3rd largest district in rice production in Jambi Province. However, the district faces several problems related to the rice supply chain, such as long supply chains and poor information flow due to inadequate infrastructure. This study aims to understand the rice supply chain mechanism in East Tanjung Jabung Regency. A descriptive analysis method using the Food Supply Chain Network (FSCN) approach was used in this study. Farmers were randomly sampled to obtain 72 farmers, while traders were sampled using the snowball sampling method. The results show that the majority of rice production in this district is aimed at meeting local and out-of-region markets, with development targets including increased production and distribution. The supply chain structure involves farmers, village intermediaries, rice mills, district intermediaries, and retailers. They select partners based on price, experience, personal relationships, trust, and information disclosure. Agreements between farmers and traders are informal, while the government provides support through various programs and assistance. Transactions in the supply chain are conducted in cash. Farmers, rice millers, and traders have resources. There are six patterns of supply chain channels, with smooth financial flows, but barriers to product and information flows.
