Abstract

Institutional transformation in higher education has become a strategic necessity to improve governance quality, academic capacity, and institutional competitiveness. However, empirically, STAI Al-Masthuriyah Sukabumi still faces various challenges in its implementation. This study aims to describe and analyze the internal and external factors influencing the transformation process through the mapping of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. The study employs Lewin’s Institutional Transformation Theory, Albert Humphrey’s SWOT Analysis in Strategic Management, and Kezar’s Higher Education Management Theory as theoretical frameworks. A descriptive qualitative approach was applied through observation, in-depth interviews, and document studies involving institutional leaders, lecturers, educational staff, and relevant stakeholders. The results indicate that STAI Al-Masthuriyah possesses strengths in its pesantren-based identity and strong social support but still faces weaknesses in digital governance and unequal human resource competencies. The main opportunities come from government policies and the growing public interest in Islamic education, while threats arise from changes in the accreditation system and increasing competition among Islamic higher education institutions (PTKIS). The institutional transformation process proceeds through human resource development, curriculum renewal, the establishment of new study programs, and the gradual and collaborative digitalization of academic administration.

Abstract

Firms in Indonesia’s chemical sub-sector face growing expectations to strengthen sustainability initiatives without undermining financial performance. Nevertheless, prior studies report inconsistent results on whether Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) disclosure, green accounting adoption, and intellectual capital contribute to improved financial outcomes, particularly in emerging markets. This study examines the influence of ESG disclosure, green accounting practices, and intellectual capital on the financial performance of chemical sub-sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). Using a quantitative approach, the study analyzes panel data covering the 2020–2023 period. A purposive sampling method yielded 18 firms that met the research criteria. Multiple linear regression was employed to test the proposed relationships, with STATA used for data processing and estimation. The results indicate that ESG disclosure, green accounting implementation, and intellectual capital do not significantly affect firms’ financial performance during the study period. Abstract

The study employed the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The research subjects consisted of 35 Grade VIII students at SMP Negeri 45 Batam. The results indicate that: (1) The average validity scores obtained from material experts (92.86%) and media experts (88.75%) fall within the very valid category. (2) The RPG Maker MV–assisted learning media met the criteria for effectiveness, as evidenced by the classical mastery requirement stipulating that at least 85% of students must achieve a minimum score of 75 based on the KKM standard. In this study, 30 students (85.7%) achieved the minimum required score. (3) Based on teacher and student response questionnaires, the developed media fulfilled the criteria for high practicality, with average percentages of 98.3% and 86.35%, respectively. (4) Students’ mathematical problem-solving abilities showed substantial improvement, with the average score increasing from 32.86 on the pretest to 87.5 on the posttest. An N-Gain value of 0.84 indicates that the improvement lies within the high category.

Abstract

This study aims to describe and comparison the values of character education in the animated series Riko The Series Season 5 and Nussa Season 3. This research is classified as a descriptive qualitative research type with data sources in the form of the two animated series on the YouTube platform. The data collection techniques used include observation techniques, viewing notes, and documentation. Data analysis techniques are carried out through the stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawn. The results of this study show (1) there are various character education values in the Riko The Series Season 5 animation series, namely religious, honest, tolerant, disciplined, hard work, creative, independent, curiosity, respect for achievements, communicative/friendly, peace-loving, social care, and responsibility. (2) there are several character education values in the Nussa Season 3 animated series, namely religious, honest, disciplined, creative, independent, curious, communicative/friendly, peace-loving, socially caring, and responsibility. (3) There is a comparison of the value of character education in the two animated series. The similarities, both display important values such as religious, honest, disciplined, creative, independent, curious, communicative, peace-loving, social care, and responsibility, with similar educational goals and approaches. The difference lies in the context of application, variations and values highlighted. Riko The Series Season 5 contains more variety including tolerance, hard work, and appreciation for achievements and highlights curiosity, while Nussa Season 3 highlights religious values. The conclusion of the study shows that the two animated series have the potential to be an effective character learning medium.

Abstract

Indonesia’s multicultural society, characterized by religious, cultural, and ethnic diversity, presents both opportunities and challenges for social cohesion. In recent years, increasing tendencies toward intolerance and exclusivist religious attitudes among students have raised concerns regarding the effectiveness of religious education in fostering peaceful coexistence. This study aims to analyze the role of Islamic Religious Education (Pendidikan Agama Islam/PAI) in shaping tolerant attitudes among students within a multicultural social context. This research employs a qualitative descriptive approach to explore how PAI contributes to the formation of students’ tolerant and peaceful attitudes. Data were collected through classroom observations, in-depth interviews with Islamic education teachers and students, and analysis of instructional documents. The findings indicate that PAI plays a significant role in cultivating students’ tolerance when learning processes emphasize dialogical interaction, contextual understanding of religious teachings, and appreciation of diversity. Students who engage in reflective and inclusive PAI learning demonstrate greater openness toward differences and a stronger commitment to peaceful social relations. The study concludes that Islamic Religious Education, when implemented through contextual and dialogical pedagogical approaches, functions not merely as a medium for transmitting religious knowledge but as a transformative educational space for developing tolerant attitudes in multicultural societies. These findings underscore the importance of reorienting PAI learning toward inclusivity and social harmony to address contemporary challenges of diversity and pluralism.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of applying the Listening Team Cooperative Learning model on the science and social studies learning outcomes of sixth-grade students at SDN 005 Samarinda Seberang in the 2024/2025 academic year. The background of this study stems from the low achievement of student learning outcomes, where 75% have not met the Learning Objective Achievement Criteria. This condition is thought to be influnced by the dominance of convensional methods that do not actively involve students. The type of research used is an experiment with a Quasi-Experimental Approach and a Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. The research population consisted of all sixth-grade students, with a sample of 48 students divided into experimental and control classes. The research insturments include tests (10 multiple-choice questions and 10 essay questions) and non-tests in the form of observations and documention. Data analysis was performed thourgh normality and homogeneity test, Independent Sample T-tests, and N-Gain calculations. The result showed that there was a significant difference between the experimental and control classes with a Sig. (2-tailed) velue of 0.000 (<0.05). This proves that the use of the Listening Team Cooperative Learning model can be an alternative effective learning strategy to increase student activity, understanding and involvement in the learning process.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education in the modern era faces an epistemological challenge in the form of a dichotomy between transcendent sources (revelation) and rational sources (reason and empirical experience), which often gives rise to a normative-dogmatic or, conversely, rationalistic-secular learning approach. This condition impacts the weak formation of students' religious awareness that is complete, reflective, and contextual. This study aims to analyze the epistemological integration of transcendent and rational sources in Islamic Religious Education and its implications for the formation of students' religious awareness. This study uses a qualitative approach with a literature review method of primary and secondary sources in the form of the Qur'an, hadith, works of interpretation, books on Islamic educational philosophy, and relevant journal articles. Data collection techniques are carried out through documentation and systematic searches of literature that has conceptual and theoretical relevance. Data analysis uses a thematic and interpretative analysis model by linking the concepts of Islamic epistemology, educational theory, and the objectives of Islamic Religious Education. Data validity is maintained through triangulation of sources, theories, and perspectives of expert thought. The research results show that the integration of the epistemology of revelation and reason in Islamic Religious Education forms a learning paradigm that not only instills normative beliefs but also encourages critical reasoning, moral reflection, and contextual spiritual awareness. Students' religious awareness does not stop at ritual obedience but develops into a responsible ethical and social awareness. The implications of this research emphasize the importance of developing an Islamic Religious Education curriculum and learning strategies that integrate transcendent and rational dimensions in a balanced manner to develop religious, critical, and civilized students in modern life. Abstract

This study aims to determine the principal's instructional leadership, the quality of teacher teaching, and the influence of the principal's instructional leadership on the quality of teacher teaching at the UPT of Public Elementary School 064998, Medan City. This study uses a quantitative approach with an explanatory method. The sample population and this study were all 30 teachers at the UPT of Public Elementary School 064998, Medan City, so the sampling technique used was total sampling. Data were collected using a questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics through simple linear regression. The results of the study indicate that the principal's instructional leadership is in the high category, while the quality of teacher teaching is in the good category. The results of the regression analysis indicate that the principal's instructional leadership has a positive and significant influence on the quality of teacher teaching. The principal's instructional leadership contributes 50.0% to the variation in teacher teaching quality, while the rest is influenced by other factors outside this study. The findings of this study confirm that strengthening the role of the principal as a learning leader is an important strategy in improving the quality of teacher teaching in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the use of code-mixing in WhatsApp conversations among Padang State University students, both with fellow students and with lecturers, and its relationship to language preservation. This study used a descriptive qualitative method with data in the form of written utterances in WhatsApp conversations. Data collection was conducted through screenshots and copies of conversations (chats) containing elements of code-mixing. The results of this study indicate that the dominant code-mixing used is external code-mixing in the form of English, such as "time," "list," and "deadline," as well as internal code-mixing involving regional languages. The use of code-mixing is influenced by language habits, practicality, and the influence of digital technology. This phenomenon has the potential to impact the preservation of Indonesian and regional languages if not accompanied by good language awareness.

Abstract

The 15-minute reading activity before classroom instruction is an effort to improve reading interest and literacy skills among elementary school students. This study aims to describe the implementation and impact of the 15-minute reading activity before learning sessions at SDN Kedungbanteng 2. A descriptive qualitative method was employed using observation and brief reflection techniques. The research subjects included students from grades 1 to 6, accompanied by community service (KKN) students. The results indicate that the 15-minute reading activity effectively increases students’ reading interest, reading habits, and reading comprehension. In addition, the activity creates a more conducive classroom atmosphere and enhances students’ readiness for learning. Consistent reading habituation contributes to the development of a school literacy culture and positive character traits, such as discipline, focus, and responsibility. Therefore, the 15-minute reading activity is effective and relevant as part of the implementation of the School Literacy Movement in elementary schools.
