Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the rainbow practicum as an effort to strengthen science process skills in Natural Science (IPA) learning at Sekolah Alam Islamic Orbit School Aceh Besar. Science process skills are essential in developing students’ scientific thinking, critical reasoning, and problem-solving abilities. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach involving elementary school students learning the topic of light. Data were collected through observations of student activities during the practicum, learning documentation, and teachers’ reflective notes, and analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that the rainbow practicum effectively strengthens students’ science process skills, particularly in observing, classifying, interpreting data, and drawing conclusions. This nature-based practicum also increases students’ active participation and enthusiasm in learning. Furthermore, it helps students understand light concepts more concretely, fosters scientific attitudes, and connects science concepts to everyday phenomena. Therefore, the rainbow practicum is an effective and contextual alternative strategy for science learning in nature-based school environments.

Abstract

This study aims to describe and interpret the meaning of figurative language in the lyrics of the song “Sakura” by Fariz Roestam Moenaf through a stylistic approach. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques included literature study, critical reading and data integration. Data analysis applied Miles and Huberman's interactive model, which included data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing with credibility testing through source triangulation. The results show that the lyrics of “Sakura” utilize six types of figurative language: personification, metaphor, hyperbole, imagery, repetition, and irony. The use of metaphor and personification dominates to transform the abstract concept of love into something more vivid and real. The findings conclude that these lyrics represent inner conflict, deep commitment, and a moral message about the honesty of conscience in order to achieve peace of mind. The figurative language in this song serves as a powerful instrument of emotional communication between the creator and the listener, not merely as an aesthetic embellishment.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the forms, levels, and impacts of gadget addiction among elementary school children in Tulangan, Sidoarjo. The increasing use of gadgets, which initially functioned as learning and entertainment tools, has developed into a source of dependency affecting children’s psychological, social, academic, and religious aspects. This research employed a descriptive qualitative design within a positivistic paradigm. Data were collected through non-participant observation and semi-structured interviews with three elementary school children categorized into moderate, severe, and very severe addiction levels, along with parents as supporting informants. Data analysis followed the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana model, including data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification carried out simultaneously throughout the research process. The findings reveal significant differences in the frequency and duration of gadget use according to addiction levels. In the moderate category, children used gadgets for 1–2 hours per day, showing decreased concentration and mild emotional dependency. In the severe category, usage increased to 3–4 hours per day, accompanied by reduced social interaction, emotional control disturbances, and decreased learning motivation. In the very severe category, usage exceeded 5 hours per day, marked by social isolation, emotional regulation disorders, behavioral changes, and decreased discipline in learning and religious activities. These findings indicate that gadget addiction affects not only children’s psychological and social behavior but also the formation of moral and spiritual values. The study highlights the importance of parental supervision and proportional guidance in children’s gadget use.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the interpretations of classical and modern exegeses concerning the verses on inheritance in QS An-Nisā’ verses 7, 11, 12, and 176, as well as to examine their relevance to the principle of women's justice. Ibn Kathir's exegesis is selected as a representation of classical interpretation that adheres to the bi al-ma’tsur approach, while M. Quraish Shihab is chosen as a representation of modern interpretation that employs contextual and hermeneutic approaches. This research employs a qualitative method with a literature study approach through text analysis of exegeses, scientific journals and other supporting literature. The findings indicate that classical exegesis understands the distribution of inheritance as a final decree based on the social structure at the time the verses were revealed, whereas modern exegesis emphasizes substantive justice that considers the changing social roles of women in the contemporary era. This study concludes that the principle of women's justice in the verses on inheritance is flexible through the maqāṣid al-syarī‘ah approach, thus remaining relevant in the context of modern social developments. Consequently, this research provides significant contributions in bridging the understanding between classical and modern exegesis traditions, as well as reinforcing the position of women as rightful, dignified, and legally protected heirs under Islamic law.

Abstract

This inquiry examines the boundaries of expressive freedom within the realm of stand-up comedy, specifically focusing on the Stand-Up Indo Madiun community. While freedom of speech represents a foundational democratic principle, its implementation in the Indonesian landscape is frequently constrained by cultural sensitivities and regulatory frameworks. Adopting a qualitative descriptive approach, this study investigates how comedians negotiate sensitive subject matter while adhering to professional codes of conduct. Data were gathered through intensive interviews with practitioners in Madiun, direct observation of live performances, and a systematic review of comedic scripts. The findings indicate that these constraints emerge from both internal and external dimensions. Internally, the community maintains a shared commitment to avoiding derogatory physical remarks and prioritizing intellectual humor over vulgarity. Externally, practitioners must align their content with the prevailing social values of the Madiun public and navigate the legal complexities associated with the Electronic Information and Transactions (ITE) Law. To mitigate risk, comedians employ strategic self-censorship, seeking a balance between artistic authenticity and societal expectations. The study reveals that although performers aim for radical honesty, they exercise significant caution regarding SARA-related themes to prevent communal disharmony. Ultimately, this research concludes that freedom of expression in the local comedy circuit is a dynamic negotiation between creative liberty and collective responsibility, offering valuable perspectives on communication ethics within Indonesia's regional creative industries.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low physics learning outcomes of Grade X students at SMA Negeri 13 Makassar due to conventional, teacher-centered instruction that primarily emphasized cognitive aspects while neglecting students’ attitudes and skills. Data indicated that only 30% of students achieved the Minimum Mastery Criteria (KKM) of 65. Interviews and learning evaluations also revealed low achievement across learning domains, with 18.51% in knowledge, 22.22% in attitudes, and 11.11% in skills, highlighting the need for more innovative instructional media. This study aimed to determine students’ learning outcomes before and after the implementation of a physics E-Module assisted by the Google Sites website on the topic of work and energy, as well as to examine the differences between the two results. The research employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental design. Data were collected through pre-test and post-test instruments and classroom observations. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, categorization, and inferential statistics, including normality, homogeneity, and t-tests. The results showed that before the implementation of the E-Module, only 1 out of 26 students (3.8%) achieved mastery, while after the implementation, the number increased to 12 students (46%). The t-test results indicated a significant difference between learning outcomes before and after the treatment (t_count = -2.331; t_table = 2.779; df = 25). Therefore, the Google Sites-assisted E-Module was effective in improving students’ physics learning outcomes and is recommended as an alternative instructional material to support the implementation of the Independent Curriculum.
