Pendas : Jurnah Ilmiah Pendidikan Dasar is a journal published twice a year, namely in June and December that aims to be a forum for scientific publications to pour ideas and studies complemented with the results of research related to primary school education. To achieve this, basic education journals will selectively disseminate ideas and studies complemented by quality research results related to basic education, develop an education center to the elementary-school that can produce innovative, creative and original work and tested in the field of education and learning elementary School to be disseminated and implemented for improving the quality of primary-to-national education at the national, regional and international levels.

The teaching of Maharah Kalam to tenth-grade students at MA Raudhatul Ulum Sakatiga still faces obstacles in the form of low confidence in speaking, lack of creativity in developing verbal ideas, and minimal opportunities for students to actively practice Arabic communication. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Chain Story method in improving students' speaking skills (Maharah Kalam). The research used a mixed method approach with a sequential explanatory design, involving quantitative measurements through pre-tests and post-tests as well as N-Gain analysis, which was then supported by qualitative data through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the quantitative analysis show that the students' N-Gain scores ranged from 0.08 to 0.53 with an average of 0.2956, which is in the low category. This indicates that the improvement in students' speaking skills after participating in Chain Story learning is still relatively low, although it still shows positive development. Qualitative findings reinforce these results by showing an increase in students' courage to speak, increased participation, interaction between students, and creativity in composing chain stories. Thus, the Chain Story method has been proven to contribute to the improvement of Maharah Kalam, although it has not yet produced a high quantitative improvement. This method remains relevant as an alternative strategy for oral activity-based learning that encourages active and collaborative communication in Arabic language classes.

This article examines the efforts of Islamic Religious Education teachers in overcoming learning boredom among fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 1 Bungi. Learning boredom is one of the common problems in the learning process, characterized by a decline in students’ interest, motivation, and participation, particularly in Islamic Religious Education subjects. This study aims to describe the forms of learning boredom experienced by students, analyze the factors contributing to learning boredom, and examine the strategies employed by Islamic Religious Education teachers to address this issue. The research adopts a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving Islamic Religious Education teachers and fourth-grade students. The collected data were analyzed using qualitative data analysis techniques, including data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that learning boredom is influenced by internal factors, such as low learning motivation and concentration, as well as external factors, including the use of less varied teaching methods and limited learning media. The efforts undertaken by Islamic Religious Education teachers to overcome learning boredom include varying teaching methods, utilizing simple instructional media, implementing active and enjoyable learning activities, and providing motivation and role modeling. This study concludes that the role of Islamic Religious Education teachers is crucial in creating a conducive and engaging learning environment, thereby minimizing students’ learning boredom and enhancing the quality of Islamic Religious Education learning.

This study aims to describe the strategies employed by Islamic Religious Education teachers in fostering students’ learning enthusiasm through the implementation of interactive quizzes and to analyze students’ responses to the use of these quizzes at SDN 2 Bataraguru. The research method used was a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The interviews were conducted in a semi-structured manner to explore information regarding learning strategies, the use of interactive quizzes, and students’ responses during the learning process. The results indicate that teachers applied various learning strategies, such as ice-breaking activities, discussions, question-and-answer sessions, the use of Student Worksheets (LKPD), and the utilization of digital media such as Wordwall and Canva. The implementation of interactive quizzes was able to create a more dynamic learning atmosphere, increase student participation, and reduce boredom in learning. Students showed active and enthusiastic responses and became more confident in answering questions. Supporting factors in the implementation of interactive quizzes include the availability of facilities such as LCD projectors and adequate internet access. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors include network disturbances and unfavorable weather conditions. This study concludes that interactive quizzes are an effective strategy for fostering students’ learning enthusiasm in Islamic Religious Education. Therefore, teachers are encouraged to continue developing innovative learning strategies that are in line with students’ needs.

The development of information and communication technology has brought significant changes to the field of education, including Islamic Religious Education (PAI). This study aims to examine the effectiveness of technology implementation in Grade X PAI learning at SMA Negeri 1 Siompu, South Buton Regency, specifically in terms of material understanding, learning motivation, and student independence, as well as to analyze teacher readiness and student responses to technology-based learning. The research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with PAI teachers and Grade X students, and documentation. Data analysis used the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana model through data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion drawing stages. Data validity was tested through source triangulation, method triangulation, and member checking. The findings reveal that the implementation of digital technologies such as Google Classroom, WhatsApp, and Google Meet effectively increased students' material understanding by 20-30%, significantly enhanced learning motivation, and rapidly developed student independence despite the school facing infrastructure limitations including limited electricity access and unstable internet networks. Teachers demonstrated good readiness through creativity in overcoming technical barriers with hybrid learning strategies and offline material provision. Students responded very positively with high enthusiasm and active participation in learning. This research contributes to achieving SDGs goal 4 on quality education and goal 10 on reducing inequalities by proving that technology can serve as a means of equalizing access to quality education in remote areas.

Self-confidence is a fundamental psychological aspect that significantly influences students' success in the learning process and their personality development. This study aims to examine the efforts of Islamic Religious Education teachers in enhancing students' self-confidence and to analyze the forms of self-confidence that develop during the learning process at SDN 1 Baluara. The research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through participatory observation of the learning process in Grade IV, in-depth interviews with the Islamic Religious Education teacher and five students, and documentation including learning notes and activity photographs. Data analysis used the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana model through data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion drawing stages. Data validity was tested through source triangulation, method triangulation, and member checking. The findings reveal that teachers implement five main strategies: consistent verbal motivation, varied teaching methods, creation of a safe and supportive learning environment, role modeling in every interaction, and intensive communication with parents. The forms of self-confidence that developed include courage to express opinions, active participation in discussions and presentations, ability to express oneself through various works, positive attitude toward mistakes, and more confident social interactions. This research contributes to achieving SDGs goal 4 on inclusive and participatory quality education, goal 3 on students' mental health and well-being, and goal 10 on reducing inequalities by ensuring every student receives optimal support to develop their self-confidence in Islamic Religious Education learning.

Majelis Ta'lim (Islamic study groups) as non-formal Islamic educational institutions play a strategic role in shaping the socio-religious attitudes of the community, including the value of mutual cooperation. However, empirical studies specifically examining the role of Majelis Ta'lim (Islamic study groups) in fostering mutual cooperation through religious activities are still relatively limited. This study aims to analyze the role of Majelis Ta'lim Nurul Falaq in fostering mutual cooperation and identify supporting and inhibiting factors in its implementation in Talaga Raya District, Central Buton Regency. This study used a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques included semi-structured interviews, non-participatory observation, and documentation, with the research subjects consisting of the chairman and members of Majelis Ta'lim. Data analysis was carried out through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and interactive conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicate that Majelis Ta'lim Nurul Falaq plays an active role in fostering mutual cooperation through routine religious activities, such as religious study groups, rotating Yasinan (recitation of the Yasinan), shalawatan (prayer), and social activities based on community awareness. These activities encourage the formation of values of cooperation, solidarity, volunteerism, and social participation. The main supporting factors include congregational cohesion, participatory leadership, and social support, while time constraints and members' busy schedules are inhibiting factors. This study concludes that majelis ta'lim (Islamic study groups) significantly contribute to strengthening the value of mutual cooperation, thus contributing to strengthening social cohesion and developing the community's religious character.

This study aims to determine the influence of political communication on public political participation in the 2024 North Sumatra gubernatorial election. The problem in this study is the low political participation as seen from the high abstention rate of 41%. This I obtained from data at the KPU 024 Medan Tembung District, Indra Kasih Village. The novelty in this study is research that focuses on examining mediating or moderating factors that can influence the relationship between political communication and political participation. The research method used in this study is quantitative research. The number of samples is 40 people with a sampling technique using a random sampling technique. The data collection technique chosen is a questionnaire. The data analysis technique uses a simple linear regression analysis technique. This study aims to analyze the effect of guided inquiry learning model assisted by FunMath video media on the ability to understand mathematical concepts of third grade elementary school students. The study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design of the Nonequivalent Control Group Design type. The research sample consisted of two classes, namely class IIIA as the experimental class and class IIIB as the control class, each with 20 samples. The instrument was a mathematical concept understanding test that had met the validity and reliability criteria with a Cronbach's alpha value of 0.777. The results showed that the average pretest-posttest score in the experimental class increased from 46.00 ± 6.92 to 83.10 ± 6.55, while in the control class it increased from 48.10 ± 7.01 to 74.40 ± 7.12. The Paired Sample T-test showed a significant difference between the pretest and posttest in the experimental class (t = −22.995; p < 0.001). An independent sample t-test showed a significant difference between the experimental and control classes in the posttest (p < 0.05). The treatment effect was in the medium-strong category with an effect size (Cohen's d) of 1.63. These results indicate that the guided inquiry learning model assisted by FunMath video media effectively improves the mathematical concept understanding ability of third-grade elementary school students.

This study aims to critically examine the impact of AI utilization, not only in terms of its technical benefits in improving writing skills, but also its impact on students' analytical thinking skills, originality of work, and academic integrity. This study also offers new perspectives for higher education institutions in formulating policies, ethical guidelines, and learning strategies that integrate AI while still strengthening students' independent competencies. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive approach with a literature review, which collected relevant information and scientific works from books, journal articles, and other scientific writings. The results indicate that AI plays a significant role as an effective tool in the writing process, such as assisting with vocabulary selection, checking grammar, and providing suggestions for improvement. AI also functions as a personal, efficient, and interactive partner in English learning. The strategy for effective AI utilization is to make it an aid, not a substitute for personal effort, with the awareness that AI should be used wisely to improve writing and not to replace personal understanding. The study concludes that while AI offers significant opportunities, adaptation and ethical challenges remain major concerns, emphasizing the central role of educators in the learning process.

The purpose of this study was to determine how individual counseling services using the Acceptance and Commitment Therapy approach can reduce the negative impact on victims of body shaming among students in the Management Study Program at UNISRI. This research was conducted at Slamet Riyadi University, Surakarta. The subjects were students in the Management Study Program at Slamet Riyadi University, Surakarta. This study was a Guidance and Counseling Action Research (PTBK) conducted in three cycles. Each cycle consisted of four stages: Planning, Action, Observation, and Reflection. Data collection techniques used in this study were observation, interviews, and documentation.Based on the results of the pre-cycle actions, 90.6% identified the characteristics of body shaming victims. In cycle I, there was a decrease in the characteristics of body shaming victims by 77.33%, the results of cycle II actions obtained a decrease in the characteristics of body shaming victims by 58%, and the results of cycle III actions obtained a decrease in the characteristics of body shaming victims by 20%. It can be concluded that the role of individual counseling services with the Acceptance and Commitment Therapy approach is able to reduce the negative impacts for victims of body shaming in the management study program students of Slamet Riyadi University Surakarta in the 2024/2025 Academic Year.
