Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of group guidance services using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) technique in improving learning time management among eleventh-grade students at SMA Negeri 9 Pontianak. The method used in this research is an experimental research method with a Pre-Experimental Design, specifically the One-Group Pretest–Posttest Design. The sample was selected using a non-probability sampling technique, namely purposive sampling, with a total of 8 students who had the lowest level of learning time management from a population of 117 students. Based on the data analysis results, the average pre-test score was 83.5, which falls into the low category, while the average post-test score increased to 121.1, which is categorized as high. Furthermore, the results of the statistical test using the Paired Sample T-test showed a t-value of 20.652 and a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.000. This indicates that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and the null hypothesis (H₀) is rejected, meaning that there is a significant difference in students' learning time management before and after receiving group guidance services using the Problem Based Learning technique. Therefore, it can be concluded that group guidance services using the Problem Based Learning technique are effective in improving learning time management among eleventh-grade students at SMA Negeri 9 Pontianak.

Abstract

Many elementary school students face difficulties in deeply understanding scientific concepts, resulting in low science literacy and an inability to connect scientific knowledge with everyday life. This problem is exacerbated by the limited availability of interactive, contextual learning materials and minimal integration of local cultural values. This study aimed to design, analyze validity, assess practicality, and evaluate the effectiveness of a Tri Hita Karana-based E-module on ecosystem materials to improve science literacy among fifth-grade students. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) design using the ADDIE model, including Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The subjects consisted of two content experts, two media experts, two teachers and three students for practicality testing, and 28 students for effectiveness testing. Data were collected using questionnaires on validity and practicality, as well as pretest and posttest science literacy assessments, with instruments validated (coefficient = 1.00) and reliable (KR-20 = 0.82). The results indicated that the developed E-module was valid (content experts = 3.87; media experts = 3.80), practical (teachers = 4.00; students = 3.77), and effective, with an average increase in science literacy of 20.536 points, a decrease in standard deviation from 20.550 to 16.011, and a paired sample t-test showing t = 10.280 with significance 0.000 < 0.05, indicating a significant improvement. In conclusion, the Tri Hita Karana-based E-module supports interactive, contextual, and character-based science learning. Its implication is that teachers can utilize this E-module as an innovative learning resource integrating digital technology and local wisdom to enhance students’ science literacy.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the implementation of the dormitory program on the independence of IAKN Tarutung students in the 2025/2026 academic year. The research method used in this study is an inferential quantitative research method. The population in this study were all IAKN Tarutung dormitory students in the 2025/2026 academic year, totaling 191 people. In this study, the number of samples was set at 147 people using the Slovin formula, while the sampling technique used was stratified random sampling. Data were collected with a closed questionnaire of 30 items. The results of the data analysis showed that there was an effect of the implementation of the dormitory program on the independence of IAKN Tarutung dormitory students in the 2025/2026 academic year. Proven through the following data analysis: 1) Analysis Requirements Test: a) The results of the correlation coefficient test obtained a value of rxy = 0.897 > 0.161, thus it is known that there is a positive relationship between variable X and variable Y. b) The coefficient significance test obtained a value of tcount = 24.429 > ttable 1.655, thus there is a significant relationship between variable X and variable Y. 2) Influence test: a)

Abstract

Parental participation plays an important role in supporting the implementation of education in schools. Parents’ involvement does not only support students’ learning processes but also contributes to the development of school educational programs. This study aims to examine parental participation in educational planning at SMKN 1 Sungai Tabuk and to identify the strategic role of parents in supporting students’ career development. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through interviews with the principal, the vice principal for curriculum, and the vice principal for public relations. The results indicate that parental participation occurs in several school activities such as new student admissions, report card distribution, preparation for industrial work practice (PKL), and graduation activities. Communication between schools and parents is conducted through the school committee, direct meetings, and digital communication media such as WhatsApp groups. In the context of vocational education, parents also play a strategic role in supporting students’ career development through their social networks which can help provide internship placements and job opportunity information for graduates. However, parental involvement is sometimes constrained by parents’ work commitments. Therefore, strengthening communication and cooperation between schools and parents is necessary to enhance parental participation in educational planning.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low level of students' understanding of the human digestive system, particularly regarding digestive functions and the role of amylase enzymes. The purpose of this study was to develop a canva-based learning media product on the human digestive system to improve the learning outcomes of fifth-grade elementary school students and to determine the quality and benefits of this teaching video media. The type of research used was Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, Evaluate) development model. The data collection techniques were interviews, questionnaires, tests, and expert validation sheets.The results of the research validation by media experts and subject matter experts obtained an average score of 3.84, categorized as “Very Good” and suitable for implementation after revision. The average pretest score was 70 and the posttest score was 93.18, with an increase of 46%. Therefore, the Canva-based learning media on the human digestive system had an impact on the learning outcomes of fifth-grade elementary school students.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the process of implementing the cooperative learning model in Grade V of SDN 2 Pulau Makasar and to analyze its effectiveness in improving student discipline. A qualitative approach with a case study design was employed. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with the teacher and students, and documentation. Data analysis followed the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, with source triangulation and technique triangulation applied to ensure data credibility. The findings reveal that the implementation of the cooperative learning model progressed through four interrelated stages: the formation of heterogeneous groups, the organic emergence of peer accountability mechanisms, the internalization of disciplinary values through group discussion, and the transformation of the teacher's role from supervisor to facilitator. The model proved effective in improving student discipline across multiple dimensions, including measurable changes in physical-orderly behavior, a fundamental shift in disciplinary motivation from extrinsic to intrinsic, and the formation of a strong and sustainable social responsibility network among students. These achievements were attained despite the geographical limitations and resource constraints of an island school, demonstrating that learning effectiveness is determined by the appropriateness of the pedagogical approach rather than facility abundance. The findings contribute to SDGs Goal 4 on Quality Education, Goal 10 on Reduced Inequalities, and Goal 16 through the early formation of disciplined character and social responsibility.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of Pancasila Education in shaping civic responsibility and multicultural awareness of students, especially in grade X. This study is motivated by the importance of strengthening civic character and tolerance amidst the diversity of Indonesian society. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive qualitative research type. Data were obtained from primary and secondary sources through observation, interview, and documentation techniques. Data validity was tested through source triangulation and technical triangulation. Data analysis was carried out through the stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study show that Pancasila Education plays a significant role in shaping students' attitudes of responsibility as demonstrated through understanding of rights and obligations, discipline, compliance with rules and participation in school activities. Pancasila Education also contributes to fostering students' multicultural awareness, this is reflected in students' attitudes that respect differences and are able to work together in diverse environments. Pancasila Education teachers not only have a role as teachers but also play a strategic role as motivators, facilitators, and role models for students.

Abstract

This study examines the formation of religious character among Generation Alpha students through the habituation of Dhuha prayer and Istighosah activities at an Islamic elementary school in Jombang. Generation Alpha, characterized by early exposure to digital technology, faces challenges related to moral and spiritual development in the digital era. Therefore, structured religious habituation programs are considered strategic in strengthening students’ spiritual and moral values. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with the principal, teachers, and students, and documentation analysis. The data were analyzed using an interactive model consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, with credibility ensured through triangulation techniques. The findings reveal that: (1) Dhuha prayer and Istighosah are implemented routinely and systematically as part of the school’s religious culture; (2) the formation of religious character occurs through consistent habituation, teacher role modeling, and value reinforcement, fostering discipline, patience, istiqomah, and respectful behavior; and (3) supporting factors include parental involvement and a conducive religious environment, while obstacles involve students’ fluctuating motivation and digital distractions. The study concludes that continuous religious habituation effectively contributes to strengthening the religious character of Generation Alpha students in the context of Islamic elementary education

Indah Putri. 2026. Application of Problem-Based Learning Model to Improve Speaking Skills of Fifth Grade Students at Pattongko State Elementary School 39, Sinjai Regency. Department of Elementary School Teacher Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Muhammadiyah University Makassar. Supervisor I Andi Sukri Syamsuri and Supervisor II Syahruddin. This study was motivated by the low speaking skills of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 39 Pattongko, Sinjai Regency, in Indonesian language learning. This condition was characterized by low student participation in learning activities, lack of courage in expressing opinions, and learning outcomes that did not meet the Learning Objective Achievement Criteria (KKTP). Therefore, this study aims to improve students' speaking skills through the application of the Problem-Based Learning model using the discussion method. This research is a Classroom Action Research conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consists of three meetings with the stages of planning, implementation of actions, observation, and reflection. The research subjects are all 20 fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 39 Pattongko, Sinjai Regency, consisting of 7 male students and 13 female students. The results of the study indicate that the application of the Problem-Based Learning model can improve students' speaking skills. The assessment was based on five aspects, namely fluency, accuracy of word choice, sentence structure, intonation, and expression. The average score of students in cycle I was 67.65 and increased in cycle II to 84.43 with a percentage increase of 24.79%. These results met the learning achievement criteria (KKTP), which is ≥70. Thus, the application of the Problem-Based Learning model proved to be effective in improving the speaking skills of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 39 Pattongko, Sinjai Regency.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the application of a systems approach in educational planning at Sungai Miai 11 Public Elementary School. The systems approach views educational planning as a process involving various interrelated components, such as students, educators, curriculum, facilities and infrastructure, and the school environment. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were obtained through interviews, observations, and documentation with the principal, teachers, and parties involved in the preparation of educational planning. Data were analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that the application of a systems approach in educational planning at Sungai Miai 11 Public Elementary School has helped the school integrate input, process, and output aspects in a more structured manner. This has an impact on planning that is more focused and effective and supports the continuous improvement of educational quality.
