Abstract

This study is motivated by the use of less innovative learning models, which leads to student boredom and difficulties in understanding the material being taught. This occurs because the learning process tends to emphasize memorization rather than meaningful understanding, and students are accustomed to receiving information without going through a process of discovery. As a result, students are less able to develop their thinking patterns, construct ideas, and enhance their critical thinking skills. The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of the Phenomenon-Based Learning model on the critical thinking skills of fourth-grade students. This research employs a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group design. The population of this study consists of all students in the selected classes, and the sampling technique used is total sampling, in which the entire population is used as the research sample, consisting of 24 students in the experimental class and 27 students in the control class. The instrument used in this study is a multiple-choice test.Based on the results of the study, the average posttest score of the experimental class was higher, at 78.54, compared to 69.63 in the control class. After conducting hypothesis testing using an independent sample t-test, the significance value (2-tailed) was found to be 0.001 < 0.05. Therefore, H₀ is rejected and Hₐ is accepted, indicating that there is a significant effect of the Phenomenon-Based Learning model on students’ critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Indonesia is one of the world's largest coconut producers, but the addedvalue of exports of its derivative products remains relatively low. This study aims to empirically examine the significance of Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA), exchange rates, and selling prices on Indonesian coconut derivative product exports in the international market during the 1990-2023 period. This study employed the Multiple Linear Regression method using Eviews 10 as the analytical tool. The data used were obtained from secondary data from Faostat.Using the aforementioned analytical tools, the results show that RevealedComparative Advantage (RCA) positively influences Indonesian coconut derivative product exports in the international market. Export demand positively influences Indonesian coconut derivative product exports in the international market. The exchange rate positively influences Indonesian coconut derivative product exports in the international market. The variables Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA), exchange rates, and selling prices simultaneously influence Indonesian coconut derivative product exports in the international market. The government is expected to implement various policies related to Indonesian coconut exports, including product diversification, export subsidies in the form of tax breaks, ease of export processing, and increased market access through promotions and trade missions

Abstract

Numeracy skills are essential competencies in addressing the demands of the 21st century; therefore, learning should be designed contextually by guiding students from concrete experiences toward abstract understanding. This study aimed to analyze the effect of the Indonesian Realistic Mathematics Education (PMRI) approach using the context of rupiah currency in solving word problems on the numeracy skills of fifth-grade elementary school students. The method employed was a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest format. The population consisted of all fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 13 Kapalo Koto, with a sample of 6 students selected through stratified purposeful sampling based on their mathematics summative scores. Data were collected using a numeracy skills test. Data analysis using the paired sample t-test revealed a significance value of 0.099 (> 0.05), indicating that statistically there was no significant effect of the PMRI approach on students’ numeracy skills. However, the effect size measured by Cohen’s d was 0.826, indicating a large practical effect. The N-Gain test result showed an average score of 0.2515, which falls into the low category, although variations in improvement were observed among students. These findings indicate that the implementation of PMRI has not shown a statistically significant effect, but it demonstrates potential practical contributions to improving students’ numeracy skills.

Abstract

This research explores the dynamics of acculturation between Islamic values and the local traditions of Javanese society through historical and anthropological perspectives. Focusing on the 15th and 16th-century period, the study examines how Islam did not emerge to erode well-established local cultural roots, but rather integrated through a syncretic process that gave rise to a unique new cultural identity. By employing a literature review method based on authoritative scientific sources, this study dissects cultural proselytization (dakwah) strategies particularly those of the Wali Songo in weaving Islamic nuances into architecture, performing arts, literature, and life-cycle rituals. The findings indicate that Islamic influence in Java is both transformative and adaptive; it successfully enriched the Javanese character with monotheistic (Tawhid) values without diminishing its original cultural essence.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the suboptimal use of technology in IPAS learning media, which has an impact on student learning. This development created valid, practical, and effective Augmented Reality(AR) learning media based on Assemblr Edu for the IPAS subject in sixth-grade elementary school. This development employed an R&D approach using the ADDIE model. Media validation was obtained through evaluations by subject matter, language, and media experts. The practicality ofthe media was assessed using questionnaires for educators and students. Meanwhile, the effectiveness of the media was determined by comparing pre- and post-tests of students at SDN 35 Parak Karakah and SDN 08 Parak Gadang as pilot schools, as well as SDN 18 Kampung Durian as the research school. The learning media was deemed suitable based on research results that yielded 94.2% content validity, 87.5% media validity, and 95.5% language validity. This media proved to be highly practical for use. Based on teacher feedback of 100% and student feedback of 91.9% at SDN 35 Parak Karakah, SDN 08 Parak Gadang received a teacher response rate of 100% and a student response rate of 90.6%. SDN 18 Kampung Durian also received a practicality score of 95.8% from teachers and 88.9% from students. The effectiveness test yielded an N-Gain score of 0.72 at SDN 35 Parak Karakah, 0.74 at SDN 08 Parak Gadang, and 0.76 at SDN 18 Kampung Durian, with each score falling into the “effective” category. Thus, this AR medium is suitable for implementation in sixth-grade elementary school science education.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of graphic design skills instruction for students with deaf and hard of hearing (DHH) at SLB Negeri 1 Lima Kaum. The research method used was qualitative descriptive, with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and document analysis. The subjects of this study consisted of the graphic design teacher, students with DHH disabilities, and the school principal. This study was analyzed using the Miles & Huberman model through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions, then its validity was tested through triangulation of sources and techniques. The research findings indicate that lesson plans are systematically developed by adapting the curriculum to students’ visual abilities. Instruction begins with the simplest materials and progresses to more complex ones. Instructional delivery emphasizes hands-on practice, visual demonstrations, and material repetition to address auditory communication barriers. Teachers’ pedagogical practices integrate Direct Instruction, Chunking, and Scaffolding methods, supported by digital tools such as CorelDraw and Canva. Evaluation is conducted continuously, based on both process and product. The primary challenges encountered include reversal errors (reversed writing), a characteristic of hearing impairment, and difficulties in long-term memory regarding tool symbols and their functions. The solutions implemented include structured repetition up to 5 times, specific technical cues for computer operations, and the preparation of substitute teachers. These findings underscore the importance of optimizing the vocational potential of students with hearing impairments, making them relevant as a reference for the development of skills programs at Special Education Schools in West Sumatra.

Abstract

The Teing Hang Kolang rite is an important traditional practice of the Manggarai community that sustains the continuity of relationships between humans, nature, and ancestors to the present day. This study aims to explore and reinterpret the rite from an eschatological perspective, offering deeper insight into the relationship between human beings and creation as part of the journey toward the fullness of life. It finds that the rite embodies eschatological meaning and spiritual dimensions that affirm the interconnectedness of the human world, the spiritual realm, and cosmic harmony. Using a descriptive method through in-depth remote interviews and literature review, the research shows that the rite is not merely a routine act of honoring ancestors, but a religious practice that connects humans with God as Creator through concrete actions such as maintaining balance and harmony with nature. Consequently, the Teing Hang Kolang rite represents a form of contextual theology rooted in the lived experience of the Manggarai people, emphasizing that salvation is not only spiritual liberation but also the renewal of all creation, while integrating ancestral memory, ecological harmony, and a holistic vision of the future ##default.groups.name.author## Edit Delete SettingsHenokh Albert Ware Mere merehenokhetty@gmail.com ##default.groups.n
