Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by audiovisual media in teaching listening comprehension of explanation texts for ninth-grade students at SMP Negeri 7 Padang. The research employed a qualitative descriptive method to explore the stages of planning, implementation, and evaluation of the learning process. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and field notes. The findings reveal that the learning planning was relatively systematic, including the preparation of teaching modules, audiovisual media, and learning activities based on PBL syntax. The implementation stage showed that students were actively engaged in problem-solving activities through listening to explanation texts presented via audiovisual media. However, some limitations were found, particularly in the lack of detailed assessment rubrics and incomplete learning documents. In the evaluation stage, both process and outcome assessments indicated improved student engagement and better comprehension of explanation texts. Overall, the integration of PBL and audiovisual media contributed positively to supporting students’ listening comprehension, critical thinking, and active participation in learning.

Abstract

This study was conducted in response to the low.learning outcomes of fifth-grade students on.the topic of perimeter and area of quadrilaterals at SDN 20 Berok Gunung Pangilun, caused by teacher-centered instruction and the limited use of effective learning models and media, which reduced student engagement and understanding. To address this issue, the Problem.Based Learning (PBL) model was implemented to promote active participation and develop students’ problem-solving skills, supported by Baamboozle as an interactive game-based learning medium to create a more engaging classroom environment. The purpose.of this study was to describe the improvement of students’ learning outcomes through the.application of the PBL model assisted by Baamboozle. This research employed Classroom.Action Research (CAR) with qualitative and quantitative.approaches conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages, involving 27 students. The results showed consistent improvement, with lesson planning (RPPM) increasing from 85% in cycle.I meeting 1 to 90% in meeting.2 and remaining stable at 90% in cycle II. Teacher.performance improved.from 87,5% to 89,28% and reached 96,42% in cycle II, while student activity increased from 85% to 89,28% and reached 96,42%. Students’ learning outcomes also improved, achieving an average score of 85,04 with.a mastery.level of 85,19% in cycle.II, indicating that the implementation of PBL assisted by Baamboozle effectively enhances learning quality and.outcomes.

Abstract

The 21st century is characterized by openness and globalization, which have brought significant changes in various fields, including education. However, based on preliminary studies conducted in several elementary schools, science and social studies (IPAS) learning still faces challenges, particularly due to the use of conventional learning media and the suboptimal utilization of technology. This condition results in less interactive learning processes and limited student engagement. Therefore, an innovation is needed in the form of developing IPAS learning media assisted by Heyzine Flipbook based on the RADEC (Read, Answer, Discuss, Explain, Create) model, which is expected to enhance students’ activeness and understanding in third-grade elementary school. This study is a Research and Development (R&D) study aimed at producing learning media that are valid, practical, and effective. The development model used is ADDIE, which consists of five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The data collected in this study include validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the media. The results of the validity test show percentages of 92% from material experts, 97.5% from language experts, and 95% from media experts, with an overall average of 94.8%, categorized as “very valid.” The practicality test results indicate that teachers’ assessments range from 82.5% to 90%, and students’ assessments range from 82.71% to 95.14%, all categorized as “very practical.” Meanwhile, the effectiveness test shows scores ranging from 0.34 to 0.60, categorized as “moderately effective.” In conclusion, the IPAS learning media assisted by Heyzine Flipbook based on the RADEC model is proven to be valid, practical, and moderately effective in supporting the learning process in third-grade elementary school.

Abstract

Crying behavior due to separation anxiety in early childhood is still a challenge in the adaptation process in the school environment, while interventions that integrate behavioral approaches and play media are still limited. This study aims to test the effectiveness of fading techniques with hand puppet media in reducing crying behavior in 4-year-old children at the PAUD Lab School, Padang State University. This study uses a single-subject experimental method with an A–B–A' design, which includes the baseline, intervention, and post-intervention stages. Data collection was carried out through observation and interviews with a focus on the duration of crying behavior when the child was separated from his parents. Intervention is provided through gradual exposure supported by the use of hand puppet media as a means of storytelling. The data was analyzed using visual analysis including changes in levels, trends, and overlaps between phases. The results showed a consistent decrease in the duration of crying behavior, from 28–24 minutes in the baseline phase to 22–13 minutes in the intervention phase, and further decreased to 12–5 minutes in the post-intervention phase. These findings show that the integration of fading techniques and hand puppet media is effective in supporting children's emotional regulation and can be an applicable intervention strategy in the context of early childhood education.

Abstract

A preliminary study at three elementary schools in District 1 of Lubuk Kilangan revealed that Pancasila education lessons remain insufficiently interactive, and teachers rarely utilize digital media in the learning process. This situation has the potential to dampen students’ enthusiasm and engagement in learning. Therefore, this study aims to develop Articulate Storyline 3-based learning media using the Problem-Based Learning model for the fourth-grade elementary school curriculum on the topic of gotong royong that meets the criteria of validity, practicality, and effectiveness. This study employs a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, which comprises five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research subjects include subject matter experts, fourth-grade teachers, and fourth-grade students from three elementary schools in District 1 of Lubuk Kilangan. Research instruments include a validation sheet, a practicality questionnaire, and learning outcome evaluation questions. The results of the study indicate that the developed learning media falls into the “highly valid” category with an average of 95.3%, comprising subject matter expert validation at 94%, language expert validation at 98%, and media expert validation at 94%. The practicality test yielded an average score of 85.33%, falling into the “highly practical” category, which included teacher ratings of 85.33% and student ratings of 91.23%. In addition, this medium has proven effective in improving student learning outcomes on the topic of reciprocal cooperation. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that Articulate Storyline 3-based learning media is suitable for use as an innovative alternative in teaching Civic Education to fourth-grade elementary school students.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the process of internalizing Trisilas Wisdom values in character building for students in schools. Trisilas Wisdom, as a concept of wisdom encompassing moral, social, and spiritual values, is believed to have a strategic role in strengthening character education in elementary education settings. This study used a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. The research subjects included teachers, students, and principals who were selected purposively. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data analysis used an interactive model that included data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, as well as data validity testing through source and technique triangulation. The results showed that internalization of Trisilas Wisdom values was carried out through classroom learning activities, school cultural habits, and teacher role models. These values were reflected in students' attitudes of discipline, responsibility, social concern, and religiosity. Supporting factors included teacher commitment, a conducive school environment, and integration of values into the curriculum, while inhibiting factors included limited student understanding and lack of parental involvement. Thus, internalization of Trisilas Wisdom values was proven to contribute positively to shaping students' character holistically.
