Abstract

This study was carried out to examine the effect of students’ learning discipline on their academic achievement in Islamic Religious Education at SMP Al-Azhar Mandiri Palu. This study uses a quantitative survey approach with a comparative causal design. The population included 187 eighth-grade students, while 65 participants were chosen as the sample using probability sampling through the Slovin formula with a 10% error tolerance. Data were obtained through observation and questionnaires. The analysis techniques consisted of descriptive statistics and inferential statistics, including regression analysis followed by a t-test. The data processing was supported by SPSS version 26 for Windows. The results indicated that learning discipline (X) has a significantinfluence on learning achievement (Y). This is supported by statistical evidence showing that the t-value is higher than the t-table value (2,234 > 1,998), with a significance value of 0.029 < 0.05. Moreover, the R-square value of 0.073 shows that learning discipline contributes 7,3% to students’ achievement.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the persuasive approach used by Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in addressing learning disturbances caused by excessive gadget use among fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 112 Buton, as well as to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors in its implementation. The rapid development of digital technology has led to increased gadget use among elementary school students, which often negatively affects students’ learning concentration, motivation, and classroom discipline.This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The subjects of the study were Islamic Religious Education teachers and fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 112 Buton. The data were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing.The results show that PAI teachers implemented a persuasive approach through several strategies, including providing religious and educational advice, individual communication, learning motivation, and discipline reinforcement through class agreements. These strategies contributed positively to students’ behavioral changes, particularly in reducing excessive gadget use and improving learning concentration.Furthermore, the supporting factors of this approach include good teacher-student relationships, students’ awareness of class rules, a conducive school environment, and teacher role modeling. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors include excessive gadget use outside school, lack of parental supervision, students’ established habits, and peer environmental influence.In conclusion, the persuasive approach implemented by PAI teachers is considered fairly effective in addressing students’ learning disturbances, although it still requires strong support from family and social environments to achieve optimal results.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya hasil belajar peserta didik kelas IV pada materi perubahan energi yang disebabkan oleh penerapan model pembelajaran yang belum terstruktur serta rendahnya keterlibatan peserta didik dalam proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh model Discovery Learning terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain quasi eksperimen tipe nonequivalent control group design. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 42 peserta didik yang terdiri dari kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol masing-masing 21 orang yang dipilih melalui teknik purposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan pretest dan posttest. Analisis data dilakukan melalui uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, dan uji hipotesis menggunakan uji t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa data berdistribusi normal dan homogen. Hasil uji hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa thitung (2,348) lebih besar dari ttabel (2,021) pada taraf signifikansi 0,05. Rata-rata hasil belajar kelas eksperimen (81,43) lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol (72,38). Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa model Discovery Learning berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the need for innovative learning approaches that align with the characteristics of Alpha generation students, who are highly familiar with digital technology. The use of digital game-based media in learning is considered a potential alternative to improve students’ learning outcomes. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of implementing digital game-based learning media in improving the learning outcomes of third-grade students in the subject of Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS). The research employed a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The subjects consisted of 28 students. The research instrument was a learning outcome test administered before and after the treatment. Data analysis was conducted using the Shapiro-Wilk test for normality, the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank test for hypothesis testing, and the Normalized Gain (N-Gain) and effect size to measure the level of improvement and the strength of the effect. The results showed a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores (p < 0.001). The mean pretest score of 47.50 increased to 86.79 in the posttest, with an N-Gain value of 0.748, categorized as high. The effect size indicated a very strong effect, demonstrating that digital game-based media had a substantial impact on improving students’ learning outcomes. It can be concluded that digital game-based learning media is effective as an innovative approach to enhance the learning outcomes of Alpha generation students in IPAS.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the diversity of microscopic fungal colonies in seawater and to determine the validity, readability and response of students to the Electronic Handout of various Marine Fungi. The study began with descriptive research to determine the needs of students and teachers. The research was conducted by taking seawater samples to then be planted in PDA culture media. Colony growth data was used as material to be included in the developed Electronic Handout. The development of the Electronic Handout used a 4-D model. The Electronic Handout design was validated by material experts and media experts. If the Electronic Handout is valid and feasible to use, then a readability test is carried out on a small group of students to see the effectiveness of the developed Electronic Handout, then it is implemented in class XI of the 2024/2025 academic year at SMAN 7 Banjarmasin. Based on the results of microscopic fungal cultures from seawater samples, it shows that there are three fungal colonies. The results of the development of the Electronic Handout show material validity of 86.64% (very valid) and media validation of 97% (very valid) so that it is feasible for digitization, the readability of the Electronic Handout is 88.8% (very good) and the student response is 89.16% (very interesting). In conclusion, the isolation of microscopic fungi from seawater samples succeeded in obtaining three colonies, and the developed Electronic Handout was declared very valid, feasible for digitization, easy to read, and received a positive response from students.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of the Make-A-Match cooperative learning model on social studies learning outcomes on the topic of economic conditions in fifth-grade students at GKPS 2 Pematangsiantar Private Elementary School in the 2025/2026 academic year. The lack of varied learning strategies that stimulate student engagement was the primary motivation for this study. The Make-A-Match model was implemented to create an interactive learning environment through a matching game involving question and answer cards. The research method used a quantitative experiment with a One Group Pretest-Posttest design with 20 students. Data were collected through a validated multiple-choice objective test. The results showed a significant improvement in student learning outcomes; the average score jumped from 56.74 in the pretest to 91.26 in the posttest. Statistical analysis showed that the calculated t value (12.075) was greater than the t table, demonstrating the model's significant impact. It was concluded that the Make-A-Match model effectively increased student understanding and engagement. This model is recommended as an innovation for educators to create more dynamic and meaningful learning in the classroom. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to develop an interactive learning media for fraction material in fourth-grade elementary school, to measure the feasibility level of the learning media, and to assess its readability level by teachers and students. This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) design using the ADDIE model, which includes the stages of Analysis, Design, and Development. The scope of the study was limited to the product development process, expert validation, and limited trials; therefore, it did not extend to the evaluation of learning outcomes. The limited trial was conducted on 15 fourth-grade students of SD Mujahidin Pontianak. The result of this study is an interactive learning media for mathematics instruction. The product feasibility assessment showed a score of 0.92 from material experts, categorized as highly feasible; 1.00 from language experts, categorized as highly feasible; and 1.00 from media experts, also categorized as highly feasible. Furthermore, the readability test results indicated a score of 0.96 from teachers and 0.91 from students, both categorized as very good. Thus, it can be concluded that the interactive learning media developed in this study is feasible to use and has a good level of readability for both teachers and students as an interactive learning medium for fourth-grade mathematics at SD Mujahidin Pontianak.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of screen time on the learning concentration of fifth-grade students at SDN Jatiwaringin XIII. This study employs a qualitative approach using a descriptive case study design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving five students and the classroom teacher. The results indicate that screen time affects students’ learning concentration, particularly when used for extended periods dominated by entertainment activities. Students tend to experience a decline in focus and are easily distracted during learning. However, screen time can also have a positive impact when used to support learning. Therefore, supervision and control of gadget use by teachers and parents are necessary to ensure it does not disrupt students’ concentration during learning.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the use of interactive multimedia on the learning motivation of eighth-grade students in Islamic Religious Education subjects at SMP Negeri 37 Makassar. This study is motivated by the low learning motivation of students characterized by a lack of attention, interest, and activeness in the learning process. Therefore, innovation in learning is needed, one of which is through the use of interactive multimedia which is expected to be able to increase student learning motivation. The population in this study amounted to 225 eighth-grade students, with a sample determined using certain techniques to obtain a representative number of respondents. This study uses a quantitative approach with the ex post facto method. The data collection technique was carried out through questionnaires, while data analysis used multiple linear regression to determine the effect of independent variables on the dependent variable. The results showed that the use of interactive multimedia has a positive influence on student learning motivation. This can be seen from the increase in the average value of learning motivation from 65.20 to 78.45, with a percentage increase of 20.32%. In addition, the results of the regression analysis showed a coefficient value of β = 0.62, which indicates a positive relationship between interactive multimedia and learning motivation. The results of the hypothesis test also showed a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, so the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted and the null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of interactive multimedia has a significant effect on the learning motivation of eighth grade students in Islamic Religious Education at SMP Negeri 37 Makassar.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in helping to foster the character of social care in students at Madrasah Aliyah Zainul Anwar. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study type. Data were obtained from observations and interviews with madrasah heads, PAI teachers, and students in grades X and XI who were deliberately selected. The results of the study showed an increase in empathy, cooperation, and solidarity between students. Students began to show initiatives to help friends who were experiencing difficulties, were active in mutual cooperation and community service activities, and were more responsible for the cleanliness and order of the school environment. This success is supported by the example of teachers (uswah hasanah), habituation of social values, and the application of contextual, interactive, participatory, and hands-on experience-based learning approaches. Thus, it can be concluded that the integration of social care values in the learning process and school culture is consistently able to form a more empathetic, cooperative, and responsible student character, as well as create a harmonious school environment with a strong social culture.
