Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between the Kampus Berdampak program and students' learning independence in the Sociology Education Study Program at the University of Mataram. The research uses a quantitative correlational approach. A sample of 136 students was determined using the Slovin formula with a random sampling technique. Data collection was conducted through an online questionnaire using a four-point Likert scale, which had passed validity and reliability tests. The results of the hypothesis test using Pearson's product-moment correlation showed a significant positive relationship between the Kampus Berdampak program and learning independence. This is evidenced by a correlation value of 0.637 with a coefficient of determination of 40.5%. These findings imply that the integration of socially impactful programs can effectively develop students' learning independence in higher education environments.

Abstract

Education does not only function as a means of transferring knowledge, but also plays an important role in shaping students’ character, one of which is independence. Islamic Religious Education (IRE) holds a strategic position in instilling values of independence through meaningful learning processes. In this context, academic supervision becomes an essential instrument to improve the quality of IRE learning so that character values can be optimally integrated. This study aims to analyze the implementation of academic supervision in Islamic Religious Education in strengthening students’ independent character at SMA Negeri Kesamben, the role of IRE academic supervision in fostering students’ independent character, as well as the supporting and inhibiting factors in its implementation. This study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires. The research subjects included the vice principal for curriculum affairs, Islamic Religious Education teachers, and students of SMA Negeri Kesamben. Data analysis was conducted through data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was ensured through credibility, transferability, dependability, and confirmability tests. The results show that IRE academic supervision is implemented through the stages of planning, implementation, and evaluation of learning. Academic supervision plays a role in guiding IRE teachers to integrate independent character values into the learning process. However, its implementation has not been fully optimal due to time constraints, teachers’ workload, and limited understanding of character-based IRE learning. Therefore, IRE academic supervision needs to be carried out in a coaching, reflective, and continuous manner so that the strengthening of students’ independent character can be achieved optimally.

Abstract

Money in modern society does not merely function as a medium of economic exchange, but has also transformed into a symbol of power and a tool of social domination. This study aims to map the development of research on money as a symbol of power through Pierre Bourdieu’s perspective within the 2018–2025 period. The method used is a literature review to identify trends, main themes, methods, and research gaps from 16 related scientific articles. The results of the analysis indicate that the focus of research has evolved from basic concepts such as habitus and capital toward more complex issues, including money politics in democracy, the cultural meaning of uang panai, and symbolic capital in the digital era. Another finding reveals that qualitative approaches still dominate this field of study, although there are limitations in terms of empirical field data support. This study is expected to provide a theoretical foundation for developing practical solutions in understanding the management of symbolic power in society.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the low initial reading skills of first-grade students at Unismuh Elementary School in Makassar. Based on initial observations, it was found that students' reading abilities were still varied, with most students experiencing difficulties in initial reading, such as recognizing letters, reading syllables, and reading simple words. This study aims to improve students' early reading skills through the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by Alphabet Card media. This study is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The subjects of the study were 21 first-grade students of Unismuh Makassar Elementary School. The results showed that the application of the PBL model assisted by Alphabet Card media can improve student activity and learning outcomes. Student activity showed a significant increase, marked by increased involvement, courage, and enthusiasm in learning. Students' early reading skills increased, where in the first cycle students' abilities were still varied, while in the second cycle most students had achieved learning mastery according to the Minimum Mastery Criteria (KKM) of 70. Thus, the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by Alphabet Card media is effective in improving the first-grade students' early reading skills.

Abstract

The development of social media has transformed political communication, particularly through the emergence of political satire content on Instagram as a medium of social criticism. This phenomenon requires students to possess civic digital literacy in order to understand and respond to political information critically and responsibly. This study aims to analyze the civic digital literacy of PPKn students at the University of Lampung in responding to political satire content on Instagram. This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The informants consisted of eight PPKn students and one political satire content creator selected purposively. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation, and analyzed using qualitative data analysis techniques, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that students’ civic digital literacy is reflected in aspects of knowledge, values, and skills. Students are able to interpret satire as social criticism, apply critical thinking in evaluating political information, and verify content before responding. Furthermore, they demonstrate ethical awareness and digital responsibility in social media interactions. Thus, it can be concluded that PPKn students at the University of Lampung have good civic digital literacy in responding to political satire content on Instagram.

Abstract

Character education for early childhood is crucial as it lays the foundation for moral and social development. However, modern environmental challenges and inconsistent value reinforcement often hinder optimal character formation. This study aims to explore the concept of early childhood character education, analyze the distinct roles of family and nonformal education, and emphasize the necessity of their synergy. Employing a qualitative literature review method, this paper synthesizes theoretical frameworks and empirical findings on early childhood development, character education strategies, and the complementary functions of family and nonformal institutions such as PAUD and community-based learning centers. The results indicate that character education cannot rely solely on one environment; it requires consistent alignment between familial upbringing and nonformal educational programs. When both parties collaborate through open communication, shared values, and active parental involvement, children experience continuous reinforcement of positive behaviors such as honesty, discipline, empathy, and responsibility. This synergy creates a holistic learning ecosystem that significantly enhances character internalization. Consequently, integrating family and nonformal education is essential to foster a generation with strong moral integrity, social adaptability, and readiness for future challenges.
