Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of using Heyzine-based digital flipbook media in enhancing students' cognitive understanding and affective engagement regarding "Bhinneka Tunggal Ika" (Unity in Diversity) in Pancasila and Civic Education (PPKN). Amidst 21st-century educational challenges, integrating innovative technology is essential to transform students from passive recipients into active participants. This research employs a mixed-methods approach with data triangulation techniques involving surveys, interviews, and classroom observations. Participants were selected using purposive sampling, encompassing educators across various levels to obtain a holistic perspective. The results indicate that flipbook integration significantly improves information retention and academic performance (evidenced by pre-test and post-test comparisons). Affectively, this media strengthens students' emotional connection to the values of diversity and tolerance through personalized, dynamic, and interactive learning experiences. However, the study also identifies challenges such as potential cognitive distraction, risks of excessive screen time, and systemic barriers related to digital access gaps. These findings underscore the importance of a blended learning approach that balances digital literacy with face-to-face social interaction. In conclusion, the synergy between substantial PPKN content and innovative technology not only optimizes learning outcomes but also creates an inclusive educational ecosystem that prepares students to become critical and adaptive global citizens.

Abstract

This study aims to determine and analyze the effect of student satisfaction with the Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG) service on students’ learning motivation at SMP Swasta Teladan Pematangsiantar. The background of this study is based on the low learning motivation of some students and the differences in the level of student satisfaction with the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal Program at school. Student satisfaction with the program services is assumed to be one of the external factors influencing students’ learning motivation. This study employed a quantitative approach using a survey method. The population consisted of all students of SMP Swasta Teladan Pematangsiantar in the 2025/2026 academic year, totaling 194 students. The sample of 131 students was determined using the Proportionate Stratified Random Sampling technique with the Slovin formula. Data collection techniques included observation and questionnaires using a Likert scale. The data analysis techniques used were validity test, reliability test, descriptive statistics, normality test, heteroscedasticity test, simple linear regression analysis, t-test, and coefficient of determination (R²). The results of the study indicate that there is a positive and significant effect of student satisfaction with the Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG) service on students’ learning motivation at SMP Swasta Teladan Pematangsiantar. The higher the level of student satisfaction with the MBG service, the higher the students’ learning motivation. The MBG program, through good service quality such as punctual food distribution, food cleanliness, menu variety, and service convenience, is able to improve students’ enthusiasm and motivation in participating in learning activities.

Abstract

The increasing use of gadgets among young children, in tandem with the rapid development of digital technology, has become a serious concern due to its potential to affect children’s social development, particularly in terms of face-to-face interaction and empathy. This study aims to analyze the role of Early Childhood Education (PAUD) teachers in addressing and minimizing these impacts. The method used is a literature review with a critical analysis of various national and international journals relevant to the research topic. The results indicate that ECE teachers play a crucial role as guides, observers, and facilitators of children’s social interactions, as well as role models, digital literacy educators, and collaborative partners for parents in managing gadget use. Fulfilling these roles requires adequate pedagogical competencies and the ability to adapt to dynamic technological advancements. This study concludes that strengthening the role of teachers in addressing the impacts of gadget use requires collaborative support among schools, families, and education policymakers. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of enhancing teachers’ competencies through digital literacy training and the development of learning strategies that support the social development of young children.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of gadget dependency on self-control abilities of elementary school students in the digital era, and to propose a program-based solution. The use of gadgets among elementary school-aged children has increased significantly, especially after the Covid-19 pandemic. This research employs a qualitative approach using library research methods, analyzing 15 scientific articles and 5 reference books. The findings indicate that gadget dependency negatively impacts students' self-control, characterized by excessive emotional reactions when gadgets are restricted, reduced learning concentration, weakened social interactions, and decreased self-regulated learning ability. In response to these issues, this study proposes the SMART Program (Schedule, Monitoring, Activity, Rules, Training) as an integrated intervention framework that can be implemented by parents, teachers, and schools to control gadget use wisely and in a structured manner.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of mindfulness and students’ study time management at school on the social studies learning outcomes of students at UPTD SMP Negeri 5 Pematangsiantar. This study was motivated by the low learning outcomes of students, who have not yet achieved an adequate learning completion rate, as well as their weak mindfulness and study time management.This is a quantitative study using a descriptive quantitative data analysis approach. The study population consists of all 536 students at UPTD SMP Negeri 5 Pematangsiantar. The sample size is 84 students. Simple random sampling was used. Data were collected via a questionnaire.The results of the study indicate that mindfulness does not have a significant effect on student learning outcomes, as evidenced by the t-test showing t-calculated < t-table (-0.125 < 1.663). Study time management has a significant effect on learning outcomes, as evidenced by the t-test showing t-calculated > t-table (4.196 > 1.663). Mindfulness and study time management together influence students’ learning outcomes; this result is evident from the F-test, which shows that the calculated F-value (14.961) is greater than the critical F-value (3.11) with a significance level of 0.001 < 0.05. The coefficient of determination was found to be 0.270, indicating that 27% of student learning outcomes at UPTD SMP Negeri 5 Pematangsiantar are influenced by mindfulness and study time management. The remaining 73% are influenced by other variables not examined in this study.

Abstract

The reading ability of 2nd grade students of SDN 2 Ketandan is still relatively low, characterized by the habit of spelling letter by letter, the inability to understand the meaning of reading, and the dominance of conventional learning methods that are mechanistic and less student-centered. This condition encourages the need to implement a more innovative learning approach, one of which  is the Deep Learning approach  which has been echoed since the inauguration of the Minister of Primary and Secondary Education in the 2024-2029 Merah Putih Cabinet. This study examines the implementation of the Deep Learning approach  in reading learning in Indonesian language subjects in grade 2 SDN 2 Ketandan for the 2025/2026 Academic Year. The theoretical studies used include the concept  of Deep Learning as a pedagogical approach with three main principles  of mindful learning, meaningful learning, and joyful learning based on Vygotsky's theory of constructivism, as well as the theory of initial reading ability including indicators of pronunciation, fluency, intonation, and expression. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection was carried out through structured observation, in-depth interviews with 2nd grade educators and six students as representatives of 22 students, poetry reading ability tests, and documentation. The validity of the data was tested using triangulation of sources and techniques, while data analysis referred to the Miles and Huberman model through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawn. The results show that the implementation of Deep Learning has been carried out systematically through four learning phases: planning, exploration, application, and reflection. The three principles  of Deep Learning are integrated in each phase, making the learning process more active, meaningful, and fun. The application of this approach has been proven to be able to improve students' initial reading skills, especially in reading poetry, by encouraging critical thinking involvement, collaboration, and contextual understanding. Thus, the Deep Learning  approach is effectively applied to reading learning in elementary elementary grades, although it still requires further development for more optimal outcomes.

Abstract

Pegon literacy plays a crucial role in supporting students' understanding of the yellow books, particularly in the study of Mabadiul Fiqih. However, its implementation in formal educational institutions still faces various obstacles, particularly for students without a background in Islamic boarding schools. This study aims to analyze Pegon literacy learning strategies in Mabadiul Fiqih through a literature study approach. The method used is a qualitative study with a literature review that utilizes secondary data from books, journals, and previous research. The results of the study indicate that students experience linguistic and pedagogical difficulties, such as an inability to understand Pegon structures and limited learning strategies. Effective strategies include a combination of direct and interactive learning, traditional methods such as bandongan and sorogan, and the use of digital media. These strategies contribute to improving the understanding of fiqh concepts. Therefore, integrative and contextual learning strategies are needed to improve Pegon literacy and student understanding.

Abstract

The arrival, Islamization, and spread of Islam in Indonesia is a frequently discussed topic, particularly among Muslim academics. This is inseparable from the numerous questions that frequently arise, such as when Islam first arrived in Indonesia and who played a role in its spread. Based on this, this study aims to examine theories regarding the arrival of Islam and the process of Islamization in Indonesia using a literature review method. The results indicate that the development of Islam in Indonesia occurred peacefully. Theories regarding the arrival of Islam include the Gujarati theory, the Arabic theory, the Persian theory, and the Chinese theory. Meanwhile, the process of Islamization and its spread occurred through various channels, such as trade, marriage, education, Sufism, politics, and arts and culture.

Abstract

The development of e-commerce in Indonesia is currently encouraging cosmetic marketing via digital platforms. This condition gives rise to various legal problems, especially related to cosmetic promotions that use excessive promises, do not have distribution permits, and mislead customers. The aim of this research is to see how Food and Drug Supervisory Agency Regulation Number 18 of 2024 concerning Cosmetic Marking, Promotion and Advertising is used to monitor the promotion of cosmetic products on e-commerce websites. This study will also look at how the duties and authority of the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency are implemented from the perspective of siyasa tanfidziyah. The field research method used is a qualitative descriptive approach. Observation, interviews, documentation, and literature study are all methods used to obtain data sources. The inspection results show that BPOM has carried out supervision through monitoring labels and advertising, cyber supervision, public education, and taking action against cosmetic promotion violations. However, supervision is still being carried out.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students’ learning outcomes in presenting data in table form through the implementation of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model with a deep learning approach based on the environment. This research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in three cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The subjects of this study were 21 third-grade students of SD Negeri Margorejo 5/407. Data were collected through learning outcome tests, observation sheets of students’ activities, and documentation. The results showed that the implementation of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model with a deep learning approach based on the environment was able to improve students’ learning outcomes gradually. The percentage of students who achieved the high category increased from 28.57% in Cycle I to 47.62% in Cycle II, and reached 66.67% in Cycle III. Meanwhile, the percentage of students in the low category decreased from 38.10% in Cycle I to 23.81% in Cycle II, and 14.29% in Cycle III. In addition, students’ learning activities also improved, as students became more active in collecting, processing, and presenting data from their surrounding environment. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model with a deep learning approach based on the environment is effective in improving both students’ learning outcomes and engagement in learning data presentation in tables at the elementary school level.
