Abstract

This study aims to improve the reading comprehension skills of second-grade students at SDN 5 Peninjoan in the 2025/2026 academic year through the implementation of the Discovery Learning model assisted by serial picture media. The study was motivated by students’ low ability to understand reading texts, as indicated by the number of students who had not achieved the Learning Objective Achievement Criteria (KKTP) and their tendency to read mechanically. This research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR), conducted in two cycles consisting of planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were 20 students. Data were collected through tests, observation, and documentation, and then analyzed using quantitative descriptive analysis. The results showed an improvement in students’ reading comprehension skills in each cycle. In the initial reflection stage, learning mastery reached only 20% with an average score of 63.5. In cycle II, the average score increased to 88.5 with 90% learning mastery. Therefore, the Discovery Learning model assisted by serial picture media was effective in improving students’ reading comprehension skills and can serve as an innovative learning alternative in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study uses an educational philosophy approach to examine the philosophy of Islamic boarding school education in Habiburrahman El Shirazy's novel Kembara Rindu. The values of Islamic boarding school education, which are focused not only on imparting Islamic knowledge but also on helping students develop their morality, spirituality, and character, are embodied in the novel Kembara Rindu. In order to discover educational values based on an axiological perspective and their link to the disciplines of educational philosophy (ontology, epistemology, and axiology), this study employs a qualitative approach with a content analysis method on the novel text. Reduction methods, classification, and philosophical meaning interpretation are used to study data. The study's findings demonstrate that the novel "Kembara"'s Islamic boarding school education philosophy places a strong emphasis on the virtues of monotheism, sincerity, patience, manners, responsibility, and independence as the cornerstones for creating the ideal human being. The interaction between the students and the kiai (Islamic scholars), the tradition of knowledge, the practice of riyaḍah (religious devotion), and the social dynamics of the Islamic boarding school all reflect these ideals. The study's findings demonstrate that the novel "Kembara"'s Islamic boarding school education philosophy places a strong emphasis on the virtues of monotheism, sincerity, patience, manners, responsibility, and independence as the cornerstones for creating the ideal human being. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji fenomena campur kode dalam ekologi “brainrot” digital serta bagaimana praktik tersebut menjadi sarana negosiasi identitas siswa SMP. Fenomena brainrot merujuk pada paparan intensif terhadap konten digital yang repetitif, cepat, dan dangkal yang memengaruhi pola pikir dan praktik berbahasa remaja. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus melalui observasi dan analisis wacana terhadap komunikasi siswa SMP di lingkungan sekolah dan media sosial. Data berupa tuturan yang mengandung campur kode seperti farming aura, nonchalant, fineshyt, big L, six seven, plenger, dan rizz. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa campur kode tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai alat komunikasi, tetapi juga sebagai strategi performatif dalam membangun identitas sosial, menunjukkan solidaritas kelompok, serta merepresentasikan pengaruh globalisasi dan budaya digital. Dalam perspektif critical applied linguistics, praktik ini mencerminkan relasi kuasa bahasa, dominasi bahasa Inggris, serta pergeseran norma bahasa baku. Penelitian ini berimplikasi pada pentingnya pendekatan pedagogis yang adaptif terhadap dinamika bahasa remaja di era digital.

Abstract

This Classroom Action Research (CAR) examines the effectiveness of the implementation of the tilawati method in improving the Qur'an reading ability of seventh grade students at SMPIT Ar-rahmah Makassar. This study used CAR through two cycles, involving 33 students as participants. Data were collected through observation, tests, interviews and documentation, then analyzed using percentage and average calculations to measure student activity and student learning outcomes. The implementation of the tilawati method during the two cycles showed a significant increase in students' Qur'an reading ability. In the initial stage (pre-cycle), the average student score was only 66.7 (less than 66.7) with a success rate of 30.30%. After (cycle I), the average value increased to 75.6 (sufficient category), with a success rate of 66.67%, then continued with (cycle II) to strengthen the material that has been taught while encouraging abilities that have not met the KKM standard, the average value increased again to 84.1 (sufficient category) with a success rate of 90.91% (very good category). These results confirm the effectiveness of the tilawati method in improving students' ability to read the Qur'an. Substantial improvement from pre-cycle to cycle II shows the feasibility of this method to be applied in improving the quality of Qur'an learning. Therefore, this study recommends the integration of the tilawati method more broadly into the curriculum of Qur'an and Tahfidz learning for class VII at SMPIT Ar-rahmah Makassar and similar schools. Further research can explore the application of this method at various grade levels in education.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of Scratch-based educational game creation practices in Coding and Artificial Intelligence (KKA) learning to improve student activeness. The background of this research is based on the low level of student participation during the learning process, which is still dominated by conventional teaching methods and limited use of interactive learning media. Therefore, the integration of Scratch as a technology-based learning medium is expected to create a more engaging, interactive, and enjoyable learning environment for students. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach focusing on the direct practice of designing educational games using Scratch in classroom learning activities. The study was conducted at UPT SMAN 9 Bone during the implementation of the PLP II program in the 2025/2026 academic year. Data collection techniques included observation and documentation of students’ activities during the learning process. The findings revealed that the implementation of Scratch-based educational game practices significantly increased student activeness, which was reflected in students’ participation, interaction, creativity, enthusiasm, and involvement during learning activities. Furthermore, Scratch-based learning created a more interactive classroom atmosphere that encouraged students to actively engage in discussions, ask questions, and complete project-based assignments collaboratively. Thus, the implementation of Scratch-based educational game practices can be effectively utilized as an alternative interactive learning strategy to improve student activeness in Coding and Artificial Intelligence (KKA) learning.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of gamification method assisted by Kahoot on the reading comprehension skills of third-grade elementary school students in Bahasa Indonesia subject. The study employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design using a Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. Subjects consisted of 42 students from SDN 100 Muara Bungo, divided into an experimental class (Class III C, n=21) and a control class (Class III A, n=21). The experimental class received gamification-based learning using Kahoot, while the control class used conventional methods. Data were collected through reading comprehension tests covering three indicators: finding explicit and implicit information, identifying story elements (characters, setting, events), and drawing conclusions. Validity was tested using Pearson Product Moment correlation, and reliability using Cronbach’s Alpha (α = 0.746). Data analysis included normality test (Shapiro-Wilk), homogeneity test (Levene’s Test), Independent Sample t-test, and N-Gain test. Results showed that the experimental class achieved a posttest mean of 81.10, significantly higher than the control class mean of 71.67. The Independent Sample t-test yielded a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a statistically significant difference between groups. The N-Gain score for the experimental class was 0.46 (medium category), compared to 0.18 (low category) for the control class. The study concludes that the gamification method assisted by Kahoot has a significant positive effect on the reading comprehension skills of third-grade elementary students.

Abstract

Early reading ability is an important aspect of language development that needs to be stimulated from an early age. However, some children aged 4–5 years still experience difficulties in recognizing letters, pronouncing letter sounds, and reading simple words. One effort to improve children’s early reading ability is through the use of engaging learning media, such as digital flashcards. This study aims to determine the effect of using digital flashcard media on the early reading ability of children aged 4–5 years at TK Idhata. This research employed a quantitative approach using an experimental method with a pre-experimental one group pretest–posttest design. The subjects of this study were 15 children aged 4–5 years. Data were collected through early reading ability tests administered before and after the treatment. The data were analyzed using descriptive analysis, the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test, and the N-Gain test. The results showed an increase in the average score from 7.93 to 14.00. The Wilcoxon test result indicated a significance value of 0.001 (<0.05), showing a significant effect. The N-Gain score of 0.78 was categorized as high. Therefore, the use of digital flashcards is effective in improving children’s early reading ability. Keywords: digital flashcards, early reading ability, children aged 4–5 years Kemampuan membaca awal merupakan salah satu aspek perkembangan bahasa yang penting untuk distimulasi sejak usia dini. Namun, masih ditemukan anak usia 4–5 tahun yang mengalami kesulitan dalam mengenal huruf, mengucapkan bunyi huruf, serta membaca kata sederhana. Salah satu upaya yang dapat dilakukan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca awal anak adalah melalui penggunaan media pembelajaran yang menarik, seperti media flashcard digital. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan media flashcard digital terhadap kemampuan membaca awal anak usia 4–5 tahun di TK Idhata.Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode eksperimen dan desain pre-eksperimental one group pretest–posttest design. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 15 anak usia 4–5 tahun. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes kemampuan membaca awal yang diberikan sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis deskriptif, uji Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test, dan uji N-Gain.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan nilai rata-rata dari 7,93 menjadi 14,00. Uji Wilcoxon menghasilkan nilai signifikansi 0,001 (<0,05) yang menunjukkan adanya pengaruh signifikan. Nilai N-Gain sebesar 0,78 termasuk kategori tinggi. Dengan demikian, media flashcard digital efektif meningkatkan kemampuan membaca awal anak. Kata kunci: media flashcard digital, kemampuan membaca awal, anak usia 4–5 tahun.

Abstract

The increasing participation of married women in the workforce has given rise to dual role conflicts that pose significant risks to mental health. This study aims to examine the relationship between workload and dual roles on the mental health of married female workers through a systematic literature review. Literature searches were conducted using Google Scholar and Science Direct databases from January to April 2026, using keywords such as “workload,” “dual role,” “work-family conflict,” “mental health,” “married working women,” and “female workers.” From 2,360 initial results, 11 articles published between 2010 and 2026 met the inclusion criteria. The review findings indicate that workload and dual role conflict have a positive and significant relationship with mental health disturbances in married female workers, including work stress, emotional exhaustion, depression, and burnout. The magnitude of the association varied across studies, with dual role conflict explaining up to 33.8% of the variation in work stress and work-family conflict more than doubling the risk of depressive symptoms (OR = 2.29). One study, however, found no statistically significant relationship between the two variables. Additional moderating factors such as social support, work environment, and organizational policy also play important roles. Married female workers represent a vulnerable group that requires targeted intervention and family-friendly workplace policies to protect their psychological well-being.

Abstract

This study aims to examine how Islamic education management is applied in the administration of religious activities and how it impacts the improvement of student discipline at SMKN 5 Majene. Research on this theme in vocational high school settings remains considerably rare compared to studies conducted in pesantren and madrasah environments, making this research an effort to fill that existing gap. To address the research problems, this study employs a descriptive qualitative approach through field research, with data collected via observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving 14 purposively selected informants. The data analysis process follows the interactive model proposed by Miles and Huberman, while data validity is ensured through several procedures, namely source triangulation, technique triangulation, member checking, and enhanced observational persistence. The research findings reveal that various religious activities, including congregational prayer, Quranic recitation, and Islamic holiday commemorations, are managed systematically by referring to four management functions: planning, organizing, actuating, and controlling. The majority of students demonstrate active participation in every activity and experience observable behavioral changes, encompassing improved time discipline, greater compliance with rules, and increased regularity in learning activities. Based on the overall findings, this study concludes that the management of religious activities grounded in Islamic education plays a significant role in shaping students' disciplinary character through a process of religious habituation carried out consistently and in a structured manner.

Abstract

The problems of contemporary urban society are closely intertwined with modernization and the double burden borne by middle-aged women. This study aims to analyze the manifestation of the mid-life crisis phenomenon experienced by urban women and identify the structural, economic, and psychosocial factors that influence the occurrence of the crisis in urban areas. The methodology used in this study is a qualitative approach with a literature study method. Data analysis was carried out systematically through gathering academic references, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions based on the theoretical link between mid-life crisis and urban dynamics. The results show that mid-life crisis in urban women manifests in the form of deep emotional exhaustion, decreased resilience capacity, psychological stagnation, and a subjective critical evaluation of past achievements. This phenomenon is sociologically triggered by an accumulation of structural factors in the form of a double burden between public and domestic roles, the position as a sandwich generation, urban economic uncertainty, and symbolic pressure from social media exposure that constructs unrealistic standards of living and domestic relations. Successfully navigating this critical window is determined by the ability of self-regulatory adaptation to avoid chronic affective disorders in old age.
