Abstract

Managing personal finances is a vital skill, especially for postgraduate students who typically bear greater financial responsibilities than undergraduates. This study examines how Financial Literacy, Fear of Missing Out (FOMO), Self-Control, and Peer Influence affect the Personal Financial Management of Master of Management students at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Negeri Jakarta. Using a quantitative causal-associative design, data were collected via questionnaires from the 2024/2025 cohort. Through the Slovin formula, 93 respondents were drawn from a population of 121 using proportional purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression, partial t-tests, and the coefficient of determination in SPSS. Results show Financial Literacy has a significant positive effect on financial management, while FOMO shows no significant effect. Self-Control and Peer Influence both show significant negative effects, contrary to expectations. Together, the four variables explain 41.5% of the variance (Adjusted R² = 0.415), with the negative Self-Control finding highlighting a need for further psychosocial research.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Project based learning (PjBL) model based on a poetry gallery and prove an increase in poetry writing skills among class VIII.4 students at SMP Negeri 7 Tanjungpinang. The study was motivated by students' low poetry writing skills, evidenced by initial data showing only 40.00% achieved the minimum passing grade of 70. This classroom action research (PTK), based on the Kemmis and McTaggart model, was carried out in two cycles involving 45 students, each cycle comprising planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data were collected through tests, observation, interviews, and documentation, and analysed both quantitatively and qualitatively. Results showed consistent, significant improvement across cycles. The mean score rose from 65.13 in the pre-cycle to 72.91 in Cycle 1 and 80.29 in Cycle 2. Classical learning achievement increased from 40.00% to 75.56% in Cycle 1 and reached 100.00% in Cycle 2, exceeding the 75% success indicator. The average N-Gain Score of 0.42 indicates moderate effectiveness. The standard deviation also decreased from 15.07 to 7.72, reflecting more equal learning outcomes among students. In conclusion, the PjBL model based on a poetry gallery effectively enhances students' poetry writing skills while narrowing the ability gap among class VIII junior high school students.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of the Think Pair Share (TPS) learning model on the learning outcomes of tenth-grade students in the Office Management and Business Services Study Program at SMKN 1 Bandung Tulungagung, particularly in the subject of Organizational Information and Communication Systems. The background of this study is the low student learning outcomes, indicated by only 21% of students reaching the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM) of 75, while the learning process was still dominated by the lecture method, resulting in low student participation. This research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method using the Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population consisted of 74 tenth-grade students of the Office Management program, with a total sampling technique applied to obtain 37 students in the experimental class, taught using the TPS model, and 37 students in the control class, taught using Direct Instruction. Data were collected through pretest and posttest instruments consisting of 25 valid and reliable multiple-choice items based on Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) at the C4–C6 cognitive levels, and analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test, Mann-Whitney U Test, and N-Gain Score with SPSS version 25. The results showed a significant difference in learning outcomes between the experimental and control classes, as indicated by the Mann-Whitney test (Asymp. Sig. 2-tailed = 0.000 < 0.05). The N-Gain score for the experimental class was 0.6738 (medium category), higher than the control class at 0.3401 (low category), with posttest means of 95.57 and 90.38, respectively. These findings indicate that the TPS model is more effective in improving student learning outcomes than Direct Instruction.
