Abstract

This study investigated the limited menstrual personal hygiene skills of a female student with cerebral palsy, as reflected in her inability to independently wear and remove sanitary pads. The study aimed to determine the improvement in menstrual personal hygiene skills through the implementation of the drill method for a twelfth-grade female student with cerebral palsy at SLBN Polewali. A quantitative approach with a descriptive research design was employed, focusing on changes in the student's performance before and after the implementation of the drill method. The research subject was a twelfth-grade female student diagnosed with spastic cerebral palsy whose menstrual personal hygiene skills were categorized as less skilled. Data were collected using a performance test developed based on indicators of menstrual personal hygiene skills. The data were analyzed by comparing the pre-test and post-test results and describing the changes in the student's performance. The findings revealed a significant improvement in the student's menstrual personal hygiene skills, progressing from the less skilled category to the highly skilled category following the implementation of the drill method. These findings suggest that the drill method is effective in improving menstrual personal hygiene skills among female students with cerebral palsy.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low listening skills in English among seventh-grade students at SMPN 11 Bengkulu Tengah. The problems identified include limited use of digital technology in learning, the use of less varied conventional methods, and low student learning motivation which tends to be passive. This study aims to determine the effect of using Learning English Podcast (LEP) on improving the English listening skills of seventh-grade students at SMPN 11 Bengkulu Tengah in the academic year 2025/2026. This study used a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental, nonequivalent control group design. The sample consisted of 40 students selected through purposive sampling, divided into class VII A as the experimental group and class VII B as the control group. The research instrument was a 30-item multiple-choice listening test. The results showed a significant improvement in students' listening ability, indicated by the experimental class post-test mean of 72.25, higher than the control class mean of 43.30. The independent samples t-test showed a significance value of p < 0.001 (sig. 2-tailed < 0.05), indicating a significant difference between the two groups. It can therefore be concluded that the use of Learning English Podcast (LEP) is effective in improving students' English listening skills, particularly in understanding main ideas, specific information, vocabulary, and the meaning of spoken conversation..

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the effect of the Memrise application on the speaking skills of eleventh-grade students at SMAN 03 Kota Bengkulu. The study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental design with a pre-test–post-test control group design. The sample consisted of 77 eleventh-grade students, including 38 students in the experimental class and 39 students in the control class. The experimental class was taught using the Memrise application, while the control class received conventional instruction. The research instrument was a speaking test administered as both a pre-test and a post-test. Students' speaking performances were assessed by two raters using the same scoring rubric. The collected data were analyzed using validity and reliability tests, normality and homogeneity tests, the Independent Samples t-Test, and the F-Test using SPSS. The findings indicated that the data from both groups were normally distributed and homogeneous. The Independent Samples t-Test showed a significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) of 0.010, which was lower than the significance level of 0.05, indicating a statistically significant difference between the post-test scores of the experimental and control groups. Furthermore, the F-Test yielded a significance value of 0.010 with an F-value of 6.973, confirming that the Memrise application had a significant positive effect on students' speaking skills. The Partial Eta Squared value of 0.085 indicated that the treatment explained 8.5% of the variance in students' speaking achievement. Therefore, the Memrise application can be considered an effective learning medium for improving students' English-speaking skills.

Abstract

The Government Agency Performance Accountability System (SAKIP) is an important instrument for realizing accountable and results-oriented governance. Although the SAKIP performance scores of Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPDs) in West Sumatra Province have shown a positive upward trend, its implementation still faces several challenges, including differences in human resource capacity, varying levels of commitment among regional apparatus organizations, and coordination issues among government agencies. This study aims to analyze the role of the Organizational Bureau of the Regional Secretariat of West Sumatra Province in strengthening the implementation of SAKIP. The study employed a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through interviews and document analysis and analyzed using the Role Theory of Bruce J. Biddle and Edwin J. Thomas, which consists of four indicators: expectation, norm, role performance, and evaluation and sanction. The findings indicate that the Organizational Bureau performs its role through coaching, technical guidance, mentoring, monitoring, evaluation. The implementation of this role is supported by leadership commitment, clear regulatory frameworks, inter-agency collaboration, and continuous capacity-building programs. However, it is still constrained by differences in human resource capacity, frequent turnover of SAKIP administrators, uneven commitment among OPDs, and limited time for document improvement prior to evaluation. These efforts have contributed to an increase in the number of OPDs achieving an “A” SAKIP rating, from 11 OPDs in 2023 to 23 OPDs in 2025.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and describe the privacy management process of Korean Roleplay (KRP) players in identity disclosure on Telegram using Sandra Petronio’s Communication Privacy Management (CPM) theory. Employing a qualitative approach with a virtual ethnography method, this research explored how KRP players establish privacy boundaries and manage personal information within an anonymous online community. Data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews with twelve informants, and documentation, and were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman. The findings reveal that KRP players actively manage privacy by selectively disclosing personal information based on interpersonal trust, relationship closeness, and individually established privacy rules. Identity disclosure occurs gradually after careful consideration of communication partners and potential risks. Participants also continuously negotiate privacy boundaries to respond to threats such as doxing, stalking, identity misuse, and unauthorized dissemination of personal information. The study concludes that privacy management among Korean Roleplay players is a dynamic process influenced by trust, previous experiences, and perceived communication risks. These findings contribute to the development of Communication Privacy Management studies in anonymous virtual communities and provide practical insights into digital privacy protection in online communication environments. Abstract

The sponsorship controversy between Pestapora Music Festival 2025 and PT Freeport Indonesia generated negative public responses and potentially affected the organizer’s reputation. This situation highlights the importance of crisis communication strategies in managing public perception and maintaining audience trust toward an organization. This study aims to analyze the crisis communication strategies implemented by Pestapora Music Festival 2025 in addressing the sponsorship controversy with PT Freeport Indonesia based on the perspective of Situational Crisis Communication Theory (SCCT). This study employed a qualitative approach using content analysis based on Krippendorff’s framework. The research data consisted of six national online media reports containing official statements from the festival organizer during the period of September to October 2025. The data were analyzed by categorizing crisis communication responses according to the strategies identified in SCCT. The findings indicate that Pestapora Music Festival 2025 primarily applied two crisis communication strategies: the Rebuild strategy through Apology and the Diminish strategy through Justification. The Rebuild strategy was implemented through acknowledgment of negligence, delivery of an apology, and acceptance of responsibility for the consequences arising from the controversy. Meanwhile, the Diminish strategy was applied through clarifications regarding the sponsorship cooperation, funding status, and termination of the partnership with PT Freeport Indonesia. These findings demonstrate that the combination of accountability and information-based responses became the organizer’s efforts to address public concerns and rebuild trust during the crisis.

Abstract

Santri compliance with pesantren regulations has largely been interpreted as a product of a 24 hour regulatory system, a view that implicitly positions students as passive objects of external control. This view is insufficient to explain why some santri display initiative that exceeds the demands of the rules, while prior studies on Albert Bandura's social learning theory in Islamic educational settings tend to discuss modeling and self-efficacy separately, rarely integrating them into a full triadic reciprocal determinism framework within the context of everyday religious practice. This study addresses that gap by analyzing how environment, modeling, and self-efficacy interact to shape santri independence and discipline at Pondok Pesantren Nahdlatul Ulama Bahrul Ulum Bontorea, Gowa Regency. The study used a qualitative case-study approach; data were collected through participatory observation, semi-structured in-depth interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldana. Data trustworthiness was established through source and technique triangulation, member checking, and referential adequacy. The findings show that the tightly structured pesantren environment functions as a continuous arena for observational learning; ustadz/ustadzah and peers serve as the primary models of behavior formation; and santri self-efficacy develops variably depending on personal mastery experience, vicarious experience, and verbal persuasion received. The novelty of this study lies in the finding that the process of triadic reciprocal determinism in the pesantren is distinctively mediated by collective religious practice, producing a form of religious self-efficacy that bridges external compliance toward internal awareness. These findings imply the need for pesantren to design more personalized and targeted self-efficacy reinforcement strategies rather than relying solely on the strength of the regulatory system.

Abstract

Social media as a digital public space enables users to spread information, share opinions, and build participation. These interactions can also trigger conflicts, particularly when debates contain racial sentiments. This phenomenon is evident in the conflict between Knetz and SEAblings through the #SEAblings hashtag on the X application, which originated from fandom debates and escalated into a regional identity conflict following comments that denigrated Southeast Asian society. This research aimed to describe the conflict dynamics, narrative forms, group identity formation, regional solidarity, and digital racism practices that emerged and were reproduced in Knetz and SEAblings interactions. A qualitative method with a netnographic approach was used. The analysis applied the Social Identity Theory by Henri Tajfel as developed by D. Abrams and M. Hogg, the Social Conflict Theory by Lewis Coser, and the connective action concept by Bennett and Segerberg. The findings showed that the #SEAblings conflict moved through three phases: triggering, escalation, and declining intensity. Four narrative patterns were identified: attack, resistance, humor and meme, and cultural affirmation narratives. The conflict drove the use of #SEAblings as a collective identity among Southeast Asian netizens and served as a space for the reproduction of racism through physical, economic, cultural, and group identity stereotypes. These findings indicate that digital conflict strengthens in-group solidarity while simultaneously maintaining tension with the out-group.
