Abstract

This study describes classroom management in Tajweed learning within evening religious study activities as a form of nonformal education. The problem arises from heterogeneous learners, limited learning time, and learners’ difficulty in applying Tajweed rules when reading the Qur’an. This qualitative case study involved one instructor and approximately 25 learners from elementary to senior high school levels. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed through reduction, display, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that classroom management was implemented through opening murajaah, peer tutoring, gradual material delivery, demonstration, questioning, direct reinforcement, and repeated evaluation. Supporting factors included the instructor’s experience, available facilities, peer assistance, and positive teacher-student interaction. Obstacles included differences in age and ability, limited time, and weak awareness of Tajweed practice. Proper classroom management helped create active, orderly, and meaningful Tajweed learning.

Abstract

This study examines the branding strategy implemented by Kopi Tuturr Rasa at Midtown Hotel in building its positioning as an inclusive café. Kopi Tuturr Rasa was selected as the research object because it integrates inclusivity into its brand identity through the involvement of Deaf baristas, creating a distinctive service experience compared to conventional coffee shops. This research employs a qualitative approach using a case study method. The theoretical framework is based on Kotler and Keller's Brand Positioning, consisting of Point of Difference, Point of Parity, Substantiator (Reasons to Believe), and Brand Mantra. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings reveal that Kopi Tuturr Rasa's branding strategy is developed through the integration of inclusivity into its brand identity, communication activities, and consistent service practices. Its positioning as an inclusive café is strengthened by the unique service experience provided by Deaf baristas, the fulfillment of professional coffee shop service standards, the tangible implementation of disability empowerment, and the company's consistent commitment to professionalism, equality, and inclusivity. The study concludes that successful brand positioning is determined not only by marketing communication activities but also by the consistent implementation of brand values, resulting in a relatively shared perception among management, baristas, and customers.

Abstract

Altruism is fundamentally defined as assisting others without expecting reciprocity. However, within social relations, its meaning shifts, diverging from pure benevolence. While cinema typically idealizes sacrifice, under specific conditions, it can precipitate individual exploitation. The film Sammi, Who Can Detach His Body Parts encapsulates this phenomenon through the symbolism of a detachable body surrendered to others, signifying extreme sacrifice. This study investigates the representation of altruism mediated through body symbolism in the film. Employing a qualitative approach, this research utilizes John Fiske’s semiotic framework, analyzing three distinct levels: reality, representation, and ideology. Data comprising Scenes, dialogues, and audiovisual components were gathered via observation, documentation, and literature review. The findings demonstrate that altruistic acts, represented through bodily detachment, are constructed via character expressions, dialogues, cinematographic techniques, and narrative structures. This representation reveals that while sacrifice is driven by empathy, emotional proximity, and moral responsibility, it simultaneously inflicts physical and psychological repercussions upon the protagonist. At the ideological level, the film depicts a normalization of sacrifice that obscures the boundary between sincerity and exploitation, positioning altruism not merely as a humanitarian value, but as a practice highly susceptible to manipulation within social relations.

Abstract

The development of digital media has encouraged local governments to utilize various forms of visual communication in delivering public information, one of which is photography. Photography has become a communication medium that supports information dissemination and contributes to the construction of regional leaders’ public image in the digital public sphere. This study aims to analyze the production and management process of photography in supporting information delivery to the public, as well as the role of photography in shaping the image of regional leaders through the digital media platforms of the Regional Secretariat of Bogor City. The findings indicate that photography is used as a complement to press releases and is published through official government websites and social media platforms to strengthen the delivery of information to the public. Photography also functions as visual evidence that supports transparency and public information disclosure. The study further reveals that photography plays a strategic role not only as a medium of public communication but also as an instrument for building the public image of regional leaders.

Abstract

This article aims to describe the optimization of administrative staff performance in improving the quality of student administrative services at the junior secondary school level. The issue is important because student administration is directly related to data management, correspondence, archiving, information services, and students' daily administrative needs. This research used a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving the principal, head of administration, administrative staff, and students. The data were analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that administrative staff performance was reflected in work quality, service timeliness, responsibility, and cooperation. Student administrative services included student data management, document archiving, correspondence services, data correction, certificates, and information provision. Performance improvement was supported by task division, coordination, principal support, work discipline, technology use, and evaluation. However, several obstacles were found, including a limited number of administrative staff, high service volume at certain times, incomplete student requirements, and the need for stronger digital administration. The study concludes that administrative staff performance can improve service quality when supported by clear procedures, adequate facilities, continuous supervision, and staff competence development.
