Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the group work model on the map-making skills of students at MAN 2 Solok Selatan Plus Keterampilan. A quasi-experimental method was employed, utilizing a non-equivalent control group design. Random sampling was used to select the participants; Class E1 served as the experimental group (using thematic map media), while Class E2 served as the control group (using general map media). Data collection involved the use of multiple-choice pretest and post-test instruments that had undergone validity and reliability testing. The results showed that the average scores in the experimental group rose from 45.25 to 87.55, whereas the control group's average scores increased from 31.25 to 82.00. A Paired Samples t-test yielded a significance level (Sig.) of < 0.001; since this value is less than 0.05 (0.000 < 0.05), the null hypothesis (H₀) was rejected and the alternative hypothesis (H₁) was accepted. Thus, the study concludes that the group work model influences the map-making skills of students at MAN 2 Solok Selatan Plus Keterampilan.

Abstract

Online media not only conveys information, but also actively frames reality according to certain ideological interests, including in reporting the issue of accelerating police reform which has recently become a public spotlight. This study aims to analyze the discourse construction of the issue of accelerating police reform in Kompas.com news through text structure (macrostructure, superstructure, microstructure) and the social context behind it, using Teun A. Van Dijk's Critical Discourse Analysis model. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data in the form of ten Kompas.com news texts published from November 7, 2025 to February 25, 2026, analyzed through the interactive model of Miles and Huberman. The results show that Kompas.com constructs police reform as a top-down institutional program through a layered legitimacy pattern: the macrostructure emphasizes formal-procedural legitimacy while eliminating the voices of victims, the superstructure places criticism at the end of the text as a de-escalation strategy, and the microstructure utilizes administrative euphemisms and elite-based authorization. From a social context perspective, a pattern of event substitution was found that dissolves concrete issues into abstract discourse, weakening the accountability pathway and revealing a gap between the media's image of reform and the reality of recurring police issues.

Abstract

Early childhood education is an educational effort aimed at children from birth to six years of age through the provision of educational stimulation to support their optimal growth and development. One of the important developmental aspects that needs to be fostered in early childhood is independence behavior. Independence behavior can be observed through various routine activities at school, one of which is shared mealtime activities. Shared mealtime provides children with opportunities to perform various activities independently, such as washing their hands, opening their lunch boxes, using eating utensils properly, and tidying up eating equipment after use. Therefore, appropriate assessment is needed to identify the development of children’s independence behavior. This study aimed to describe the indicators of independence behavior assessed by teachers, the assessment methods used by teachers, and the assessment instruments used to assess the independence behavior of children aged 5–6 years during shared mealtime activities at TK Negeri Pembina Lubuk Pakam. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach using a narrative research method. The research was conducted at TK Negeri Pembina Lubuk Pakam. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and document analysis. The collected data were analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that teachers assessed children’s independence behavior by observing various indicators of independence that emerged during shared mealtime activities, including washing hands before and after eating, preparing eating equipment, opening lunch boxes independently, using eating utensils correctly, finishing meals, and tidying up eating equipment after use. The assessment methods used by teachers included observation, interviews, and documentation conducted continuously throughout the activities. The assessment instruments consisted of developmental checklists, anecdotal records, and documentation of children’s activities. The assessment results were used by teachers to identify the development of children’s independence behavior and as a basis for providing appropriate stimulation and habituation activities according to children’s developmental needs. However, the assessment records were still focused more on the achievement of behavioral indicators, so documentation of the process of children’s independence development needs to be improved to provide more comprehensive information regarding each child’s development.

Abstract

This Classroom Action Research, utilizing the Kemmis and McTaggart spiral model, aimed to address low student engagement regarding the topic of "Harmony in Diversity" within the *Pancasila* Education subject. The study was conducted over two cycles with 34 students from the Class XI Social Work 1 program at SMKN 2 Malang, integrating the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model, manual mind mapping, and the Gallery Walk method. Data collected through observation, tests, and documentation were analyzed using both qualitative and quantitative descriptive methods. The results showed that student engagement surged from 26.47% (pre-cycle) to 58.83% (Cycle I), reaching 85.29% in Cycle II. Concurrently, the average class engagement score rose from 52.40 ("less active") to 71.20 ("active") in Cycle I, and further to 83.90 ("highly active") in Cycle II. This improvement was driven by the completion of case-based student worksheets (LKPD), the creation of manual mind maps, and Gallery Walk activities utilizing the "Two Stars and a Wish" strategy. Thus, the combination of PjBL, manual mind mapping, and Gallery Walk proved effective in enhancing student learning engagement.

Abstract

This study examines the role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in fostering students' tolerance attitudes at SMA Negeri 14 Makassar, a public senior high school characterized by religious diversity among its student body, comprising Muslim, Catholic, and Christian students. The research was motivated by national data indicating persistent intolerance incidents in Indonesian schools and the strategic position of PAI as an instrument for instilling inclusive and moderate religious values. This study employed a qualitative case study approach with a phenomenological perspective, involving the vice-principal for student affairs, a PAI teacher, and students as key informants. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies, then analyzed thematically through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing verified by triangulation. The findings show that students' tolerance attitudes have developed positively, reflected in mutual respect for religious, ethnic, and opinion differences, and in harmonious social relationships among students and between students and teachers. PAI teachers perform four interrelated roles, namely educator, motivator, instructor, and exemplar, in cultivating tolerance, grounded in the Islamic principle of rahmatan lil 'alamin while maintaining the doctrinal boundary between faith (aqidah) and social interaction (mu'amalah). Supporting factors include teacher competence, exemplary conduct, structured religious habituation programs, and school policies accommodating religious diversity, while inhibiting factors are largely technical, such as limited instructional time and varying student characters. This study contributes to the development of a contextual, teacher-centered model of tolerance education within Islamic Religious Education at the senior secondary level, particularly in schools with plural religious composition.

Abstract

The monitoring of material transport vehicles in stone crusher production is commonly performed manually, resulting in delays in information delivery, inaccuracies in vehicle records, and increased production downtime caused by late material supply. This study aimed to design and develop an Internet of Things (IoT)-based material vehicle monitoring system using an ESP32-CAM to support the stone crusher production process. The proposed system integrates two ultrasonic sensors to detect the direction of vehicle movement, an ESP32-CAM to capture vehicle images, a DHT11 sensor to monitor the temperature inside the enclosure, and the Telegram application to deliver real-time notifications and monitoring information. The research consisted of hardware and software design, system implementation, functional testing, and statistical analysis. Experimental data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and an Independent Samples t-test after satisfying the assumptions of normality and homogeneity to evaluate the effect of Wi-Fi network speed on data transmission time. The results showed that the developed system successfully detected incoming and outgoing vehicles with a 100% detection accuracy and automatically transmitted vehicle images and information to Telegram. The average data transmission time was 3.0139 s using a 10 Mbps Wi-Fi network and 1.7130 s using a 50 Mbps Wi-Fi network. Statistical analysis indicated that Wi-Fi network speed had a significant effect on data transmission time (p < 0.05). Furthermore, the implementation of the proposed system reduced production downtime caused by delayed material supply from 60 min to 10 min per day, representing an 83.33% reduction. These findings demonstrate that the developed IoT-based monitoring system improves vehicle recording accuracy, accelerates information delivery, and supports more efficient production operations in the stone crusher industry.

Abstract

Lessons on changes in the state of matter in primary science and social studies (IPAS) could be challenging for students to fully understand since the concepts are abstract. Poor academic performance was shown by third graders at SD Kartika XVII-1 Pontianak due to the overemphasis on conventional methods of teaching and the underutilisation of interactive learning technologies. It was the goal of this study to improve students' performance in class by using Wordwall media, which encourages active participation from students. It was a classroom action research project. The research of Kemmis and McTaggart formed the basis of this two-cycle concept. There are two cycles: one for planning and one for action. Reflection is the third cycle. Twenty three graders were involved. The data set was enriched with evaluations of learning outcomes, first-hand observations, and documented information. Findings showed that students' learning results were steadily rising. The average score increased from 62.17 before the cycle to 74.35 and 85.22 throughout the first and second cycles, respectively. A rise of 39.13% to 69.57% and 84.96% in learning mastery was seen between Cycles I and II. When students utilised Wordwall, they were more engaged, enthusiastic, and proactive in class. For that reason, Wordwall aided pupils in comprehending the transformations that matter is capable of undergoing.
