Abstract

In the midst of the busy and pressure-filled modern life, many people, especially the younger generation, are facing challenges in maintaining a balanced life. Overemphasis on luxury lifestyles, following the latest trends, and material achievements often make people feel never enough, easily stressed, and lost in life’s direction. This research discusses the importance of simplicity as a key to achieving a more peaceful and meaningful life. Through a qualitative approach, this study explores views from Ellen White’s writings, emphasizing that living simply is not just about reducing excess, but also a way to draw closer to God. Simplicity helps shape a humble, thankful, and God-fearing character. Moreover, this lifestyle has a positive impact on mental health and spiritual growth. In the fast-paced, consumer-driven world, simplicity serves as a fitting and essential life principle, guiding young people towards a balanced life based on spiritual values and God’s word.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the development of M-Learning based on Moodle as an alternative learning media to improve independence and critical thinking skills in the Computer and Network Engineering Concentration subject at SMK Negeri 1 Dukuhturi. M-Learning (Mobile Learning) refers to the use of digital technology, especially the internet, to support the learning process. In the world of education, M-Learning has become one of the most effective approaches in facilitating flexible, efficient, and interactive access to education. Teachers and students will gain flexibility in learning. M-Learning allows learning to be done anytime and anywhere as long as there is an internet connection, so it is expected to trigger critical thinking skills and student independence. The approach used in this study is Research and Development or R&D, which functions to validate and develop products. The findings of this study indicate that the development of Moodle-based M-Learning as an alternative learning media can improve students' independence and critical thinking skills. The attractive features of M-learning make students more active during the learning process, and the existence of discussion forums and collaborations allows students to discuss, share ideas or work together on projects online. Although the results obtained are quite positive, this study also noted several challenges, such as limited internet access, lack of direct interaction between students and teachers and friends, as well as potential distractions and lack of motivation from the environment. Therefore, this research recommends the need for increased training and access to technology, teacher skills development, increased motivation and self-discipline of students, and the provision of quality materials.

Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the implementation of the Independent Curriculum in arts education at the elementary school level. The Independent Curriculum, which emphasizes differentiated learning, strengthening the profile of Pancasila students, and teacher freedom in designing learning, is the main framework in the transformation of arts education. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method in one of the elementary schools that has implemented the Independent Curriculum. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, in-depth interviews with art teachers, principals, and documentation of arts learning activities. The results of the study show that the implementation of the Independent Curriculum in arts education provides more space for students to express themselves and be creative according to their potential and interests. Arts learning becomes more contextual and enjoyable, with the integration of local cultural themes and the use of varied media. However, several obstacles were also found, such as limited resources, teacher readiness, and uneven understanding of the principles of the Independent Curriculum. This study recommends the need for intensive training for art teachers and the development of local culture-based learning modules to support the optimal implementation of the Independent Curriculum in the field of arts education.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Social studies learning on the topic of colonial economic history still faces significant challenges due to the abstract nature of the material and the continued reliance on conventional teaching methods, such as lectures and textbook copying. These limitations result in low student interest, passive participation, and limited understanding of the economic developments prior to Indonesia’s independence. This study aims to develop an interactive learning medium called Peta Jelajah Ekonomi Kolonial (Peta Jeko) as an innovative solution to enhance the effectiveness of instruction. The method used is Research and Development (R&D) employing the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, Evaluate). Validation results indicated that the media was deemed highly feasible by both content and media experts without requiring revision. Implementation in an eighth-grade junior high school classroom demonstrated a significant improvement in student engagement and comprehension of the material. Therefore, Peta Jeko has proven to be an innovative, contextual, and engaging instructional medium for teaching colonial economic topics in middle school. For future research, it is recommended that the media be developed into an interactive digital format to allow for broader access and alignment with evolving digital learning technologies. ABSTRAK Pembelajaran IPS pada materi sejarah ekonomi kolonial masih menghadapi tantangan karena sifat materi yang abstrak serta pendekatan pembelajaran yang masih konvensional, seperti ceramah dan penyalinan dari buku teks. Hal ini berdampak pada rendahnya minat, partisipasi aktif, dan pemahaman siswa terhadap materi perjalanan ekonomi sebelum kemerdekaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran interaktif berupa Peta Jelajah Ekonomi Kolonial (Peta Jeko) sebagai solusi inovatif dalam meningkatkan efektivitas pembelajaran. Metode yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan model pengembangan ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, Evaluate). Hasil validasi menunjukkan bahwa media ini dinyatakan sangat layak oleh ahli media dan materi tanpa memerlukan revisi. Implementasi di kelas VIII SMP menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan dalam keterlibatan dan pemahaman siswa terhadap materi yang disampaikan. Dengan demikian, Peta Jeko terbukti sebagai media pembelajaran yang inovatif, kontekstual, dan menarik dalam mengajarkan materi ekonomi kolonial kepada siswa SMP sehingga kedepannya disarankan untuk mengembangkan media ini dalam bentuk digital interaktif agar dapat diakses lebih luas dan sesuai dengan perkembangan teknologi pembelajaran berbasis digital.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of the Think-Pair-Share (TPS) cooperative learning model in enhancing the conceptual understanding and active participation of tenth-grade students at SMAN 7 Malang in the topic of Computer Systems. The research method employed a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group. The sample consisted of 34 students divided into experimental and control groups. The research instruments included a conceptual understanding test and an active participation questionnaire. The analysis results revealed that the experimental group receiving TPS-based instruction showed a more significant improvement in conceptual understanding and active participation compared to the control group. The TPS model proved effective in creating a collaborative learning environment, fostering student engagement, and strengthening conceptual mastery in information technology-related subjects.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the improvement of Hinduism learning outcomes through the implementation of the Team Game Tournament learning model for fifth grade students of SD Negeri 4 Pertima. The background of this study is based on the low student learning outcomes caused by the use of conventional learning methods that do not actively involve students. This study is a classroom action research carried out in two cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The subjects of this study were 30 fifth grade students of SD Negeri 4 Pertima. Data were collected through learning outcome tests and observations of student learning activities. The results of data analysis showed an increase in student learning outcomes in each cycle. In cycle I, the average student score reached 71.33 with classical completeness of 70%, and increased in cycle II to 83.67 with classical completeness reaching 93.33%. These results indicate that the TGT learning model is effective in improving students' Hinduism learning outcomes. Thus, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Team Game Tournament learning model can improve the Hinduism learning outcomes of fifth grade students of SD Negeri 4 Pertima.

Abstract

Kemampuan membaca permulaan merupakan kemampuan untuk mengenal huruf abjad, menyusun suku kata menjadi kata hingga mampu membaca kalimat dengan utuh. kendala utama yang dihadapi oleh siswa di Sanggar Bimbingan Klang Lama Malaysia adalah kemampuan membaca permulaan yang seharusnya sudah dikuasai oleh siswa. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui faktor menyebabkan kesulitan membaca permulaan siswa kelas 1 Sanggar Bimbingan Klang Lama Malaysia. Metode penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi dengan teknik analisis data menggunakan reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa kelas 1 Sanggar Bimbingan Klang Lama Malaysia memilki kemampuan membaca yang bervariasi hal ini karena dipengaruhi oleh dua faktor yaitu faktor internal dapat dilihat dari faktor fisiologis, intelektual, dan faktor psikologis eksternal seperti kurangnya dukungan orang tua, gaya bahasa yang masih kental dengan budaya melayu, dan lingkungan belajar yang kurang kondusif. Abstract

This study began with a problem found by researchers that is learning motivation in Informatics subjects. The observation’s results at SMP Negeri 29 Malang show learning motivation of 75% of students is less. This study’s purpose is improving the learning motivation of class VIII students at SMP Negeri 29 Malang by implementing the Treasure Hunt game on data analysis material. This game uses the unplugged method so that students find it easier to search for, analyze, and present data. This study uses the Kemmis and Taggart. Cycle starts from the planning, implementation, observation, and reflection repeatedly twice. The instruments used include observation sheets, questionnaires, and assessment. Treasure Hunt was tested on 20 students randomly. The results showed an increase in learning motivation, positive responses, and increase learning outcomes. Thus, the implementation of the Treasure Hunt game has effective in improving students' learning motivation.

Abstract

Low verbal communication skills have become a significant challenge in 21st century learning, especially at the junior high school level. Based on the results of the initial questionnaire in class VIIE SMP Laboratorium UM, most students have difficulty expressing their opinions orally, and many feel limited in vocabulary mastery, which has an impact on low discussion participation and argumentation skills. This study aims to develop and test the effectiveness of Scaffolded Debate Battle Card media in improving students' communication skills. Using the Design Thinking approach which consists of five stages (empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test), researchers developed learning media in the form of six types of structured debate cards (Statement Card, Evidence Card, Counter Argument Card, Rebuttal Card, Logical Fallacy Card, and Wild Card) equipped with Debate Analysis Sheets. The implementation was conducted on the topic “The Influence of Geographical Factors on Cultural Diversity” involving 32 learners who were divided into pro and contra groups. The results showed substantial improvement on various dimensions of oral communication. Learners showed a marked reduction in communication barriers, including less difficulty expressing opinions, less fear of public speaking, increased ability to explain ideas clearly, and better word choice in discussions. Debate preparation skills showed significant improvement, especially in students' ability to gather additional information and develop a deeper understanding of the debate topic. The media proved effective in overcoming psychological and technical barriers in verbal communication, as well as increasing students' confidence and motivation to learn in the context of social studies learning.

Abstract

This study aims to improve student learning outcomes in the Pancasila Education subject with the topic "My Attitude of Caring for the Environment" at SDN Kramat 1, Cirebon City. This classroom action research was carried out collaboratively and consisted of two cycles. The activity began with the pre-cycle stage, namely the provision of cognitive tests to measure students' initial abilities in the Pancasila Education subject. The next stage is the implementation of cycle I, which includes: a) Planning, with activities to compile teaching modules, teaching materials, observation sheets, LKPD, and assessments; b) Implementation of actions; c) Observation; and d) Reflection. The purpose of reflection itself is to assess the advantages and disadvantages of learning in cycle I, which are then used as a reference in designing improvements for cycle II. The results of the study showed that in the implementation of cycle I, the average value of student learning outcomes was recorded at 56.77. In cycle II, there was an increase in learning outcomes with an average value reaching 92.6, which was above the Minimum Completion Criteria (KKM). Based on these results, it can be concluded that the cognitive learning outcomes of grade II students of SDN Kramat 1 Kota Cirebon on the material "My Attitude of Caring for the Environment" have increased significantly.
