Abstract

The problem in this research is the lack of process skills in science learning and the low value of the WASAKA character, including discipline and hard work, in the learning process. This is caused by learning methods that are still one way, lack of implementation of STEM, and lack of emphasis on character values. Solution efforts were made by combining the Problem Based Learning, Teams Games Tournament and STEM models. This research aims to analyze WASAKA's science process skills and character using Classroom Action Research (PTK). The research subjects were class VA students at SDN Basirih 1 Banjarmasin for the 2023/2024 academic year with 33 students. The data used is qualitative and quantitative. The research results showed an increase in science process skills from 0% to 97% and an increase in WASAKA character from 15% to 94% classically from cycles I to II. In conclusion, the combination of learning models is effective in improving science process skills and WASAKA character.

Abstract

The learning outcomes of Class IX D students on the topic of social change at SMPN 18 Surabaya are still low. This study aims to improve student learning outcomes on this topic by implementing Lumio by Smart as a learning medium. This research is a classroom action study conducted in three stages: pre-cycle, the first cycle, and the second cycle. Each cycle includes several key steps: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of the study consisted of 32 students from Class IX D in the 2024-2025 academic year. According to the research results, before the implementation of Lumio by Smart, only 10 students, or approximately 31.25%, achieved the Learning Objective Mastery Criteria (KKTP). However, after the implementation of this learning medium, there was a significant improvement. In the first cycle, the number of students achieving KKTP increased to 23 students, or 71.87%. Furthermore, in the second cycle, the number increased to 28 students, or 87.50%. Therefore, it can be concluded that the implementation of Lumio by Smart can improve student learning outcomes, especially in the topic of social change.

Abstract

This research aims to improve mathematics learning outcomes for grade 3 elementary school students using crossword puzzle as learning media and to serve and describe how crossword puzzle media influence the learning outcome. The method used in this research is the Kemmis and Mc Taggart research method with 2 cycles. The subjects in this research were 3rd grade students at Public Elementary Schools in Surabaya with a total of 22 students. The object of this research is student learning outcomes based on working on evaluation test. This research was conducted from 7 June 2024 to 14 June 2024. Data collection techniques used interviews, observation, questionnaires and written tests. The result of the research shows that student learning outcomes Before implementing the crossword puzzle learning media, there were still 13.63% of students who fell into the good and very good categories. This figure is below the success indicator, namely 75%. After implementing the crossword puzzle learning media, the frequency of students who fell into the good and very good categories became 81.82% in the last cycle, which means there was a significant increase, namely 68.19% and this figure is above the research success indicator.   Keyword: mathematic, learning media, crossword puzzle

Abstract

This research was conducted to improve the mathematical literacy of fourth grade students. The purpose of this development research is to describe the steps of media development, media validity, practicality, and media effectiveness. The development method used is the ADDIE development model. The results showed that the media that had been developed were effective for improving students' mathematical literacy. This is evidenced from the results of material validation obtained a score of 69.33% in the category quite feasible and the results of media validation obtained a score of 97.33% in the category very feasible. Practicality results seen from the response of students get a score of 82% with a good category and a teacher response of 94% with a good category. Effectiveness results through the t test obtained a sig value. 0.000 and the average pretest result of 46.5 and the average posttest result of 75. The results of the Ngain calculation to see the effectiveness of the media obtained a value of 25.00 in the very high category. Thus, the results of the products that have been developed in the form of fractions worth domino cards can be categorized as good and suitable for use in the learning process.

Abstract

This Classroom Action Research aims to improve class I students' vocabulary mastery through interactive learning media (Animation) at SD Negeri 060912 Medan for the 2024/2025 academic year. Initial observations showed that students' vocabulary mastery was not in accordance with the expected development. Only 8 out of 21 students were able to recognize English vocabulary well, while most had difficulty recognizing vocabulary because it was rarely found and the memory of class 1 students was still low. Overcoming this problem, research uses interactive learning media to improve the ability to master vocabulary. There were 21 students (12 men and 9 women) as subjects. The research instruments included observation sheets, LKPD, and pretest and posttest cycles 1 and 2. The research results showed a significant increase in vocabulary mastery: in cycle I, 38.95%) of students had not reached the Criteria for Achievement of Learning Goals (KKTP), while in cycle II, 81.00% of students have exceeded the KKTP. This shows that the use of interactive learning media is effective in increasing students' vocabulary mastery.

Abstract

Mathematics is often considered a difficult and boring subject, especially among elementary school students. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of puzzle media in improving mathematics learning outcomes and fine motor skills of second-grade students at SD Negeri Kemukten 02. The research employed a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest-posttest design. A total of 22 students were selected purposively as research subjects. Data were collected through mathematics tests and observation sheets for fine motor skills. The results showed a significant increase in students' learning outcomes, with the average pretest score rising from 62.73 to 82.18 after the implementation of puzzle media. The paired sample t-test revealed a significance value of 0.000, indicating a statistically significant difference. In addition, students demonstrated notable improvements in fine motor indicators such as hand-eye coordination, object arrangement, and task persistence. The use of puzzle media created a more active and engaging learning environment, enabling students to understand abstract mathematical concepts in a more concrete and enjoyable way. These findings suggest that puzzle media is an effective alternative to enhance both cognitive and psychomotor aspects in early mathematics education.

Abstract

The significance of poetry learning using the Talking Stick innovation lies in its ability to help students develop essential language and literacy skills. Through the activities of reading and writing poetry, students can master language in various forms, develop personal expression, and create meaning. The aim of this study is to assess the extent to which the Talking Stick model can enhance students' creativity in writing poetry and to identify various aspects of creativity that emerge during the poetry writing learning process with the Talking Stick model. This research was conducted at SD 2 Aisyiyah Kota Mataram, involving 16 students as research subjects. The method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR), with qualitative and quantitative descriptive data analysis. The results of the study showed an increase in the students' Minimum Competency Criteria (KKM) scores from cycle I to cycle II. In cycle I, the average KKM score was 72 without using the Talking Stick model in poetry writing learning. However, in cycle II, after implementing the Talking Stick model in poetry writing learning, the average KKM score increased to 76. This indicates that the Talking Stick model has proven effective in enhancing student engagement and participation, and can improve creativity and learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study identifies issues such as low student activity, motivation, WASAKA character (religious and responsibility), and learning outcomes in Science Education. These problems stem from teacher-centered methods, lessons lacking engagement and relevance, low self-confidence, and student dissatisfaction. Students show a lack of seriousness in prayer, religious values are insufficiently integrated into lessons, and students do not complete assignments or actively participate. The solution proposed is using the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model and Snowball Throwing integrated with STEM. The study uses Classroom Action Research (CAR) with two cycles involving 34 students of class 5A at SDN SN Sungai Miai 5 in 2023/2024. Results show that PjBL and Snowball Throwing integrated with STEM significantly improve student activity, motivation, WASAKA character, and learning outcomes. In Cycle I, student activity was 47.06%, motivation was 55.88%, WASAKA character was 47.06%, cognitive outcomes were 58.82%, and psychomotor outcomes were 52.94%. In Cycle II, these percentages increased to student activity 88.24%, motivation 94.12%, WASAKA character 91.18%, cognitive learning outcomes 91.18%, and psychomotor learning outcomes 94.12%.

Abstract

This research explores the role of educational communication in the implementation of literacy in the Pancasila student strengthening project in grade 3 of SDN Pondok Benda 02, as education in Indonesia faces challenges in integrating Pancasila values into the curriculum, particularly through the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5). Educational communication becomes a crucial aspect in ensuring that these values are understood and internalized by students. This study was motivated by the importance of effective communication in supporting the implementation of P5 literacy in grade 3, aiming to identify how educational communication can be strengthened to improve students' understanding of Pancasila. This study used descriptive qualitative methods, involving observation, interviews and document analysis. The research subjects included a grade 3 teacher and 15 students. Data were collected to understand the role of educational communication in supporting literacy related to P5, as well as identifying challenges faced in the process. The results showed that educational communication involving interactive approaches, the use of visual media, and group discussions significantly influenced students' understanding of Pancasila values. However, there are barriers such as lack of relevant resources and limited time allocated for literacy activities. Teachers play an important role in overcoming these challenges through creative and adaptive teaching strategies. The conclusion of this study is that effective educational communication is crucial in supporting the implementation of P5 literacy in grade 3.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the use of Baamboozle interactive media on elementary school students' learning motivation. Using a descriptive qualitative research method, the research subjects consisted of teachers and fourth grade students at SDN Panaragan 1. The research instruments included interviews, observations, and documentation to obtain data on the experiences and views of the subjects related to the use of Baamboozle in the learning process. The results showed that the use of Baamboozle significantly increased students' learning motivation. Students involved in learning with Baamboozle showed higher enthusiasm, were more active in learning activities, and participated more often in group discussions. This media also provides a more interactive learning experience, makes it easier to understand the material, and supports the concept of game-based learning which has been proven to increase students' interest and motivation. Baamboozle not only makes learning more interesting and fun, but also encourages students to think critically and develop analytical skills.
