Abstract

This research aims to determine the level of difficulty in reading class II and to determine the improvement in the results of implementing Reading Corner on class II reading skills at SDN Lakarsantri III/474 Surabaya. The background to this research is that there are students who have difficulty reading so that in learning these children are left behind because they cannot read. This is a concern for teachers to pay attention to these students. Reading is one of the language skills that students must have.  Therefore, special attention needs to be paid to students who are lagging behind in reading skills. The type of research used is Collaborative Class Action Research (PTKK). This research uses qualitative research with case studies. The stages in a classroom action study consist of: planning stage, implementation stage, observation stage and reflection stage. The results of this research are 1) In class II, 6 students were found who had reading difficulties. Of the 6 students, 2 students did not recognize the letters of the alphabet A-Z. Meanwhile, 4 students have delays in reading. 2) After implementing the Reading Corner, students' reading skills improved with the acquisition of data that had a value above the KKM, namely 15 students with a total of 17 students. Meanwhile, before implementing the Reading Corner, there were 9 students who had scores above the KKM.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low learning outcomes of fifth grade students of Beskalan No. 14 Surakarta Elementary School. Therefore, a learning model and media are needed to improve learning outcomes and understanding of angle measurement material. The purpose of this study is to improve mathematics learning outcomes of angle measurement material for fifth grade students of Beskalan No. 14 Surakarta Elementary School using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model and angle clock media. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) consisting of 2 cycles, each cycle is a series of activities each consisting of 4 stages, namely planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects in this study were 14 fifth grade students of Beskalan No. 14 Surakarta Elementary School consisting of 8 male students and 6 female students. To determine the implementation of Mathematics learning of angle measurement material using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model with angle clock media. From the 2 cycles, the first cycle obtained 6 students who completed and 8 students had not reached the Minimum Completion Criteria (KKM). The second cycle obtained an increase to 100% of students who completed their studies. From the research that has been done, it can be concluded that the use of the Problem Based Learning learning model with the angle clock media can improve student learning outcomes in Mathematics learning on angle measurement material for grade V students of Beskalan Elementary School No. 14 Surakarta. In addition, student learning is more meaningful, making students learn to better understand the angle measurement material based on the results of their learning experiences, fun, active and enthusiastic.

Abstract

Sinah Kasih is the name of a village in the Sei Rampah sub-district, Serdang Bedagai Regency, North Sumatra Province. The village government system of Sinah Kasih is directly led by a village head, who is democratically elected by the local community. The presence of village officials is crucial in supporting the village head in making policy decisions and implementing work-based programs that benefit Sinah Kasih. Currently, the selection of village officials in Sinah Kasih is directly carried out by the village head, but several issues have arisen, causing suspicion among the community. This suspicion stems from a lack of trust in the selection process, which is perceived to involve nepotism, leading to decreased community support for the village government's programs. As a result, the village head is seeking a solution to ensure the selection of village officials is more transparent and free from nepotism. A decision support system is a suitable solution to address the problems faced by the village head of Sinah Kasih. An application was developed to assist in decision-making processes by the village head. The outcome of the research is the design and development of a decision support system application, compatible with Windows, which functions as a tool for determining village officials in Sinah Kasih using the Measurement of Alternatives and Ranking According (MARA) method.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of the Discovery Learning model based on Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) to enhance students' analytical skills regarding Indonesia's natural diversity in Social Studies at SMP Negeri 1 Surabaya. The combination of CRT and Discovery Learning is expected to link the material with students' cultural backgrounds, improving their engagement and understanding. This Classroom Action Research was conducted in two cycles, with two learning sessions in each cycle. Data were collected through observation and tests, showing an increase in learning mastery from 48.57% in the first cycle to 85.71% in the second cycle. These results confirm the effectiveness of this method in enhancing students' understanding.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the discussion skills of students before applying the Conferencing approach in science lessons for sixth-grade students at State Elementary School 060857 Medan Tembung, to assess the discussion skills of students after applying the Conferencing approach in science lessons for sixth-grade students at State Elementary School 060857 Medan Tembung, and to evaluate the improvement in students' discussion skills on science material after implementing the Conferencing approach in sixth grade at State Elementary School 060857 Medan Tembung. This research uses a quantitative approach. The results of the research based on the observations conducted show that during the pre-test, 13 students were not yet proficient, accounting for 48.1%, while 14 students were deemed proficient, making up 51.9%. The students' discussion skills using the conferencing approach in Cycle I did not meet the Minimum Competency Criteria (KKM), with only 3 students meeting the KKM, while 24 students did not. In Cycle II, the students' discussion skills using the conferencing approach met the KKM standards, with 26 students meeting the KKM and 1 student not meeting the KKM. The gain calculation yielded an average of 64.96 for Cycle I and an average of 84 for Cycle II, resulting in a gain of 54.4%. This indicates that VI State Elementary School 060857 Medan Tembung experienced a moderate improvement in discussion skills, as it falls within the 31-70% category.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) movement on increasing student awareness in Environmental Education learning in grade 3 of SDN 4 Jalaksana. The main problem faced by SDN 4 Jalaksana is that good waste management has not been implemented, due to the lack of programs and learning that focus on waste management. This study used the Pre-Experimental method with a One-Group Pretest-Posttest design. The research sample consisted of 21 grade 3 students of SDN 4 Jalaksana. Data collection was carried out through questionnaires, and data analysis included validity, reliability, and analysis prerequisite tests. The results showed a significant increase in student awareness of waste management after the implementation of the 3R movement. This proves that the 3R movement can be an effective approach in increasing student awareness of sustainable waste management.

Abstract

In today's era, technological advancements have led to rapid progress, particularly in storage media that produce crucial data and information. However, the available space for data storage is limited, and not everyone has access to high-speed internet. Therefore, transferring large amounts of data over the internet presents its own challenges. The speed of data transfer is essential for the exchange of information, especially textual data. Data compression is used to reduce the size of data by encoding information using bits or other carrier units that do not represent unencoded data within a specific coding system. MySQL databases are widely used for data management, but they face limitations in file size capacity and require fast internet access to store large amounts of data. The application of the prefix code algorithm for compressing data in MySQL database files can reduce file size without losing information, thus optimizing storage space utilization. The prefix code algorithm encodes each character of a message or data with a shorter code while preserving the information content, implemented through application design using Microsoft Visual Studio 2008. Previous research has shown the effectiveness of the prefix code algorithm in data compression, leading to improved performance and ease of application. Future research could further explore the aspects of data compression methods and their practical implications. The results of the data compression implementation using the prefix code algorithm on a MySQL file with C1 code achieved a 72% compression ratio.

Abstract

The Al-Qur'an as a guide and guide to life for Muslims, is not only limited to Arabic writing written in a mushaf, but the Al-Qur'an is the word of Allah which is the answer to problems or questions that have arisen since the time of the Prophet Muhammad SAW until the end. era. Not a few Muslims today only understand the Al-Qur'an as a book that is mandatory in the Faith, without making any effort to study and understand further the contents of the Al-Qur'an. The obligation to study, understand and apply every content of the Koran will be a solution to make it easier to achieve happiness in this world and the hereafter. Therefore, Ulumul Qur'an as a scientific discipline that discusses the scientific branches of the Qur'an must be studied and understood correctly, so that there are no misinterpretations in understanding the contents of the Qur'an.

Abstract

Many people enjoy listening to music on their mobile devices, as cited from Kompas Tekno. Audio files can take up a lot of storage space, especially high-quality audio files. Another issue is that although there are many audio player applications available, only a few offer audio compression features, making it difficult for users to compress their audio files. The existing audio compression applications often do not utilize optimal compression methods, which can result in poor audio quality or low compression rates. Moreover, although many audio player applications are available, few provide audio compression features, making it hard for users to compress their files. Additionally, the current audio compression applications do not often use optimal compression methods, leading to poor audio quality or low compression efficiency. One solution to this problem is using an audio compression application that can reduce the size of audio files without significantly reducing the audio quality. This allows users to store more audio files on their mobile devices.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of implementing a differentiated learning approach on the improvement of learning outcomes for fifth-grade students in mathematics. This research is motivated by the significant variation in students' learning abilities, which impacts the disparity in learning outcomes in the classroom. The research method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles, where each cycle consists of the stages of planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. This research was conducted at SDN DUPAK 1 Surabaya with the research subjects being the fifth-grade class V-D, which consists of 33 students. The data analysis technique used in this research is quantitative descriptive analysis. The results of the research through differentiated learning show that there is an improvement in student learning outcomes as seen from the pre-cycle activities, where the completeness of student learning outcomes increased from 36% to 58% in cycle I. Then, in cycle II, it increased to 85% in terms of student learning outcomes. The results of this study indicate that implementing differentiated learning can improve student learning outcomes in mathematics on the topics of LCM and GCF for fifth grade at SDN DUPAK 1 Surabaya.
