Abstract

One innovative approach in education is the Joyful Learning method, which aims to create a fun and active learning atmosphere, so that students are more involved in the learning process. At SDN 5 Nagri Kaler, this method is implemented through the Tatanen di Bale Atikan (TdBA) program, an initiative of the Purwakarta District Education Office that integrates gardening activities into the school curriculum which also instills values of responsibility, discipline, and ecological awareness to students. This study aims to look at gardening activities as an implementation of joyful learning. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through interviews, questionnaires, documentation, and literature review. The research subjects included teachers and fifth grade students of SDN 5 Nagri Kaler. The results showed that the application of the Joyful Learning method through the TdBA program increased students' enthusiasm and involvement in learning. Students showed a positive attitude towards gardening activities, which also contributed to their character development and practical skills. Thus, the integration of Joyful Learning method and TdBA program at SDN 5 Nagri Kaler is effective in creating a fun and meaningful learning environment, and supporting students' holistic development.

Abstract

The results of the interview showed that the level of communication and reasoning of students in the buffer solution subject was quite below average, especially in giving opinions and analyzing different problems. Learning is student-centered which should be teacher-centered. The study was conducted to determine the effect of implementing the Treffinger learning model based on open-ended problems on students' creative thinking on the material of buffer solutions. This study is a quasi-experimental study with Pretest Posttest Nonequivalent Control Group Design, using two classes that were compared. Each class was given an initial and final knowledge test. Essay tests and observation sheets were the instruments used. Data analysis used the t-test, before the t-test was carried out, normality and homogeneity were tested first. In this study, it was proven that there was a significant effect of using the Treffinger model based on Open Ended Problem s on students' creative thinking on the material of buffer solutions as evidenced by the calculated t value> t table.

Abstract

This study addresses the limited student engagement and low motivation observed in Grade IV at SD Negeri 012 Kuaro, where Science and Social Studies (IPAS) instruction remains teacher-centered. The research aims to explore the implementation of humanistic learning theory through group work as an alternative approach to enhance student participation and learning outcomes, particularly in the topic “Landforms and Their Relationship to Community Professions.” Employing a qualitative case study design, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model, which involves data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the integration of group work based on humanistic principles fosters a more inclusive and student-centered learning environment. This approach enhances students’ self-confidence, collaboration, and intrinsic motivation. The teacher’s role shifted to that of a facilitator, supporting students’ emotional and social needs while promoting active participation and critical thinking. The study concludes that applying humanistic learning theory through cooperative learning strategies effectively creates meaningful learning experiences and aligns with the principles of the Merdeka Curriculum. These findings support the broader adoption of humanistic approaches to enrich IPAS instruction in elementary education.

Abstract

Cognitive processes refer to thinking activities related to a person's level of intelligence, which are largely influenced by how individuals actively manipulate and interact with their environment. This includes the ability to associate, evaluate, and consider an event or incident. In this study, the author formulates the problem of how to apply cognitive learning theory to grade 2 students of SDN 1 Girikarto. The purpose of this study is to understand the application of cognitive learning theory among these students. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach involving grade 2 students as research subjects. Data were collected through three main methods: observation, interviews, and documentation. Observation is used as the main method, interviews aim to explore students' understanding of cognitive learning theory, and documentation functions as supporting data. Data analysis is carried out through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and verification and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that cognitive learning theory has been applied to 25 grade 2 students of SDN 1 Girikarto. Based on these findings, the author recommends that teachers utilize cognitive learning theory as one strategy to improve student learning outcomes. The results of the study indicate that the application of cognitive learning theory can be an effective tool to improve the quality of learning in elementary schools. Therefore, teachers are advised to apply the principles of this theory in the daily learning process.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the use of Augmented Reality (AR) media can help grade II elementary school students to be better able to add integers. The ability of augmented reality (AR) to clarify difficult ideas or concepts shows its potential for use in the classroom. Through interesting and dynamic visualizations, Augmented Reality (AR) helps learners understand abstract concepts, the object of this research is learning media, namely Augmented Reality media. The merging of digital components in real-time with real-world features is the basic concept of augmented reality (AR). The quasi-experimental research method is applied in a quantitative research approach. Nonequivalent Control Group Design is the research design used in this study. Normality test, homogeneity test, and independent t test are some of the data analysis techniques used. The results showed that as many as 25 students (89.2%) when learning by using augmented reality media produced posttest scores with the maximum value category > 80, as many as 19 students (67.8%) when learning by using book media produced posttest scores with the maximum value category > 80. This shows that learning with Augmented Reality (AR) is more effective than conventional learning. This shows that learning addition using Augmented Reality (AR) effectively improves the ability to add numbers in grade II SD.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: 1) Mengetahui perbedaan hasil belajar sebelum dan sesudah penggunaan model pembelajaran Learning Cycle 5E berbantuan media video materi Bab 8 bumiku sayang bumiku malang kelas V di SDS Swadhipa Natar, Lampung Selatan. 2) Untuk mengetahui seberapa besar pengaruh model pembelajaran Think Pair Share berbantuan media foto slide suara dengan pengaruh model pembelajaran Learning Cycle 5E berbantuan media video terhadap hasil belajar IPAS kelas V di SDS Swadhipa Natar, Lampung Selatan. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Quasi Experimental Design dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan bentuk Post-test Only Control Grup Design. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan 1) Terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan model pembelajaran Learning Cycle 5E berbantuan media video materi Bab 8 bumiku sayang bumiku malang kelas V di SDS Swadhipa Natar, Lampung Selatan dengan hasil perhitungan uji T yaitu T-hitung = 3,218 > nilai T-tabel = 2,02619, maka terdapat perbedaan sebelum dan sesudah diterapkannya model pembelajaran Learning Cycle 5E berbantuan media video hasil belajar IPAS peserta didik kelas V. 2) terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan penggunaan model pembelajaran Learning Cycle 5E berbantuan media video terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik kelas V di SDS Swadhipa Natar, Lampung Selatan dengan nilai rata-rata ulangan harian = 51,5 dan nilai rata-rata posttest kelas kontrol = 77,25, nilai rata-rata ulangan harian = 55,05 dan nilai rata-rata posttest kelas eksperimen = 84,21 yang berarti (84,21 > 77,25).

Abstract

Science and Social Studies (IPAS) learning in elementary schools still faces challenges in fostering student creativity, particularly when the applied approaches do not actively engage students in contextual learning experiences. This study aims to describe the implementation of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model in the ecosystem topic and to analyze the forms of student creativity through a diorama project. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach with 17 fifth-grade students of SDN 4 Mendenrejo in the 2024/2025 academic year as subjects. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. The study was conducted in four stages: (1) project and learning tool planning, (2) implementation of the ecosystem diorama project, (3) data collection, and (4) data analysis using Miles and Huberman’s model—comprising data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the PjBL model fostered an active and meaningful learning environment. Students were directly involved in thinking, designing, and presenting their projects, which encouraged creativity in the form of original ideas, product innovation, the use of simple materials, and collaboration. A total of 94% of students demonstrated flexibility in material use, and all groups actively participated. This project not only improved students' understanding of ecosystem concepts but also enhanced creativity and 21st-century skills, making PjBL an effective and relevant approach for IPAS learning in elementary education.

Abstract

This study focuses on the development of a learning media in the form of a pop-up book for the science subject, aimed at third-grade elementary school students, specifically on the topic of the animal life cycle. The background of this research is the low understanding and motivation of students in learning the animal life cycle material due to the use of unengaging learning tools that lack active student involvement. The method used in this study is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE development model, which includes five stages: Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate. The developed media is a three-dimensional pop-up book designed to be attractive and interactive, featuring illustrations of the life cycles of several animals such as butterflies, frogs, mosquitoes, cockroaches, grasshoppers, and dragonflies. Validation results from experts indicate that the media is highly feasible for use, with assessment percentages of 93.3% from media experts, 92% from content experts, 80% from instructional design experts, and 90.9% from teachers as users. A limited trial involving 19 students showed a very practical response with percentages of 92.3% from students and 97.5% from teachers. A wider trial involving 20 students showed a student response of 94% while the teachers’ response remained at 97.5%. Based on these results, the pop-up book media is considered feasible and practical to implement in elementary school science learning activities, and it is capable of enhancing students’ understanding and interest in learning abstract topics such as the animal life cycle.

Abstract

The use of technology in 21st century education is increasingly needed to meet the needs of the learning process. This study aims to identify the need for asteria development as a technology-based media in learning solar system material in grade V of Elementary School. This study uses a quantitative method with a research population consisting of teachers and students of grade V of SDN Panjalin Lor I. The research sample involved 10 teachers and 33 students selected through purposive sampling techniques to ensure proper representation of the target population. Data collection was carried out by conducting a media needs questionnaire, interviews, and observations. The results of the study showed that teachers and students agreed on the importance of developing asteria learning media assisted by assemblr edu to facilitate more interesting and effective learning. Most teachers find it difficult to use technology-based media and find it difficult to convey solar system material abstractly. Students experience obstacles in understanding the material due to the limitations of existing learning media. This study confirms that the need to develop asteria learning media assisted by assemblr edu is based on the need to develop asteria media to make the learning process more interesting, interactive, by adding visualization elements that can help students understand abstract concepts.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi nilai-nilai kearian lokal melalui pendekatan berbasis etnosains dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep sians anak usia dini dan memperkuat identitas budaya anak. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif, dengan subjek penelitian guru dan anak-anak kelompok B1 di TK Negeri Pembina Ampenan, Kota Mataram. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran sains melalui kegiatan seperti pembuatan makanan tradisional dan pengenalan tanaman obat tradisional mampu memperkenalkan konsep sains secara kontekstual dan menyenangkan. Anak-anak tampak antusias dan lebih mudah memahami materi karena pembelajaran dikaitkan langsung dengan kehidupan sehari-hari dan budaya lokal mereka. Selain meningkatkan pemahaman konsep sains, pendekatan etnosains juga memperkuat rasa percaya diri dan identitas budaya anak. Oleh karena itu, pembelajaran berbasis etnosains dinilai efektif dan relevan diterapkan di PAUD, dengan catatan perlunya peningkatan kompetensi guru melalui pelatihan dan pengembangan perangkat ajar berbasis budaya lokal.
