Abstract

This study explores the implementation of the Flipped Learning model in Physical Education, Sports, and Health (PJOK) at Junior High School 3 Kartasura. Flipped Learning reverses the traditional approach by having students study materials independently at home via digital media, such as videos or e-books, and then engage in practice and discussion during classroom sessions. Using a descriptive qualitative method, data were collected through interviews with the PJOK teacher, the vice principal for curriculum, and 20 students. The findings indicate that Flipped Learning was implemented effectively, with positive responses from both teachers and students. Classroom time was utilized more efficiently for practical activities, and students felt better prepared and more engaged. Challenges included limited internet access and some students’ lack of discipline in completing pre-class learning. Nevertheless, support from the school, including technological facilities, teacher training, and students’ digital literacy, facilitated success. Overall, Flipped Learning enhanced engagement, learning efficiency, and practical performance in PJOK.

Abstract

Purpose: Inclusive Physical Education (PE) aims to ensure equitable participation for all students, including those with disabilities. However, school implementation is often hindered by structural, pedagogical, and social barriers. This systematic review synthesizes empirical studies published between 2010 and 2025 to identify challenges and strategies in implementing inclusive PE. Methods: Literature searches were conducted through Scopus, Web of Science, PubMed, and Google Scholar using PRISMA guidelines. Inclusion criteria encompassed empirical studies on challenges and strategies for inclusive PE implementation in school settings. Study identification, selection, and data extraction were performed by two independent reviewers. Seventy-two eligible studies were analyzed through thematic synthesis to identify patterns and common themes. Results: Analysis identified four main challenge domains: (1) limited teacher competence and training, (2) non-adaptive facilities, (3) rigid curricula, and (4) social stigma toward students with special needs. Effective strategies reported include continuous professional development for teachers, collaborative teaching, task differentiation, and implementation of Universal Design for Learning (UDL). Findings also highlight the importance of management support and parental involvement in strengthening school inclusion. Conclusion: Effective implementation of inclusive PE requires multi-stakeholder collaboration and context-based policy reforms to strengthen teachers' capacities and promote sustainable school inclusion.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of team sports activities on improving social skills and mental health of elementary school students. The background of this study is based on the view that physical education does not only focus on developing physical abilities, but also plays an important role in character formation, social skills, and psychological well-being of students. The research method used was a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest–posttest design. The subjects consisted of 30 students of Muhammadiyah 5 Elementary School, Pekanbaru, selected through a purposive sampling technique. The research instruments included a social skills observation sheet and a mental health questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis was conducted using a Paired Sample t-test to compare the results before and after treatment. The results showed a significant increase in social skills (from an average of 65.2 to 82.6) and mental health (from an average of 63.5 to 80.4) with a p-value <0.01. These findings prove that participation in team sports activities can improve students' ability to work together, interpersonal communication, and psychological well-being. Thus, the integration of team sports activities in physical education learning can be an effective strategy in forming students' social and mental character holistically.

Abstract

This study began with an analysis of the results and evaluation of gymnastics learning in the Physical Education study program. Lecturers had difficulty analyzing the impact of gymnastics learning on students' life skills and creativity because they had been using instruction-based learning that emphasized technique and knowledge alone, which tended to make students passive, thereby inhibiting the development of creativity and life skills values. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the PjBL model on students' creativity and life skills and to determine the extent of improvement in creativity and life skills through the PjBL model. The research method used a quasi-experiment with a descriptive quantitative approach. The research design was a pretest-posttest control group design. The population consisted of all JPOK FKIP ULM students. Sampling used purposive sampling. The sample consisted of 80 students who took the basic gymnastics learning course. Sampling was done using purposive sampling. The research instruments used were the LSSS questionnaire for life skills and the TTCT for creativity. The results showed a significant effect of the PjBL learning model on life skills (P = 0.00 < 0.05) and creativity (P = 0.03 < 0.05). The PjBL learning model can improve students' life skills, with the problem-solving and decision-making component increasing the most (80.51%), followed by the creativity component, namely flexible thinking, which increased by 77.25%. These results will serve as a reference for future learning to use a student-centered learning model so that floor gymnastics learning becomes more meaningfu

Abstract

Evaluating lecturers competence in Artificial Intelligence, Technological, Pedagogical, and Content Knowledge (AI-TPACK) and identifying key influencing factors are critical steps toward ensuring effective AI integration. Purpose: This study aims to explore the predictive effect of digital competence on AI-TPACK among sports education lecturers in Indonesia. Materials and methods: A correlational survey design was employed, involving 105 lecturers from Physical Education, Health, and Recreation programs (PJKR) across five teacher education institutions in West Java. Data were collected using two structured scales: AI-TPACK and digital competence. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was applied to analyze the relationships between variables. Results: The analysis revealed that while lecturers demonstrated above-average digital competence, their AI-TPACK competence remained below average. A significant positive correlation (r = 0.533) was found between digital competence and AI-TPACK, with digital competence emerging as a primary predictor. These findings suggest that lecturers who are more digitally competent are also more capable of integrating AI into their pedagogical practice. Conclusions: Strengthening digital competence can be a strategic foundation for building AI-related pedagogical skills. Future training programs should integrate both technical and pedagogical components of AI, tailored to the teaching context of physical education lecturers in higher education.
