Abstract

Physical fitness training plays a strategic role in preparing Indonesian Army (TNI AD) soldiers for Security Operations in Conflict-Prone Areas (Pamrahwan) in Papua, which are characterized by rugged terrain, extreme weather, and dynamic threat conditions. This study aims to analyze the physical fitness condition of Pamrahwan soldiers, identify constraints in physical fitness training within operational areas, and formulate effective training strategies to enhance operational readiness. A qualitative approach was employed through in-depth interviews with soldiers, physical fitness instructors (Bajas/Pajas), and command elements. Data were analyzed using NVivo through coding, categorization, and thematic analysis. The findings indicate that soldiers’ physical fitness levels are generally functional and adaptive; however, training has not been fully implemented through structured, periodization-based programs. Key constraints include environmental conditions, limited facilities, security threats, and intensive operational schedules. The study concludes that physical fitness training must be conducted through a systematic, adaptive, and doctrinally aligned approach to ensure optimal operational readiness.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to improve the motor skills of children in group B of Early Childhood Education (PAUD) by using banana stems as a medium. Through two cycles starting from planning, implementation, observation, and reflection is the method used to conduct this study. Ten children with a total of seven boys and three girls are the subjects of the study. Classroom Action Research (CAR) is the type of research used in this study. The methods used to collect data are observation, interviews, and documentation. The instruments used are assessment sheets and observation instruments. This study uses quantitative data analysis techniques using statistical analysis. The results showed that children's fine motor skills in the pre-cycle were 42.50%, in cycle 1 it was obtained 70.83% and cycle II reached 83.33%. This concludes that stamping activities using banana stems can improve fine motor skills in children in group B of PAUD Beringin Indah well and optimally.

Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyse the process of character building for discipline among adolescents at the Bunga Sejati Ranting Tantan Pencak Silat Academy, Tantan Village, Muaro Jambi Regency. The study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design to gain an in-depth understanding of the coaching practices that take place in real life at the pencak silat academy. The research participants consisted of six key informants, namely the Village Head, administrators, coaches, community leaders, and two active students. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation, then analysed using NVivo software through the stages of open coding, axial coding, and thematic analysis. The results of the study identified six main themes in discipline character building, namely Regular Training, Strict Rules, Exemplary Coach, Punctuality, Responsibility, and Respectful Attitude. The findings show that regular training is the foundation for building discipline through consistent habituation, supported by the application of strict rules and the exemplary behaviour of coaches as social models. This process resulted in tangible behaviours such as punctuality, responsibility towards obligations, and a respectful attitude towards coaches and fellow members. Character building at this academy is carried out systematically and holistically by integrating physical, mental, and spiritual aspects. This study provides empirical contributions to the development of character education based on traditional martial arts and serves as a reference for community-based youth development programmes at the local and national levels.
