Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Big Book media on the reading comprehension ability of fourth graders at the Tenth State Elementary School in Bengkulu City. This study is a type of quantitative research with a research method, namely the Quasi Experimental Design method with the Matching Only Pretest- Posttest Control Group Design research design. The population in this study were fourth grade students of the Tenth State Elementary School in Bengkulu City which were accredited B. The research sample was taken using the cluster random sampling technique, obtained fourth grade students of the 58th State Elementary School in Bengkulu City as the experimental group and fourth grade students of the 15th State Elementary School in Bengkulu City as the control group. The experimental group was given treatment using the Big Book media while the control group used conventional learning. The instrument used was a multiple-choice test sheet totaling 10 questions. The test was carried out twice, namely before and after learning took place in the experimental class and the control class. From the results of the t-test calculation of the students' post-test values, sig (2-tailed) 0.000 is smaller than 0.05. This shows that there is a difference in the post-test results between the experimental class and the control class which is caused by the different treatments of the two classes. So it can be concluded that there is an influence of Big Book media on the reading comprehension skills of fourth graders at the Tenth Cluster of State Elementary Schools in Bengkulu City.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model on the mathematical conceptual understanding of fourth-grade students in Cluster XIV, Bengkulu City. The research is quantitative, using a quasi-experimental method with a Matching Only Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The population consisted of fourth-grade students in Cluster XIV. The sample included class IVA of SDN 42 Bengkulu City as the experimental group and class IV of SDN 45 Bengkulu City as the control group, selected using Cluster Random Sampling. The instrument used was an essay-format test to assess students’ mathematical conceptual understanding through pretests and posttests. Data were analyzed quantitatively using descriptive statistics, prerequisite tests, and inferential analysis through a t-test. The results showed a significant difference between the posttest average scores of the experimental class (77.90) and the control class (57.86), with the experimental group scoring higher. Based on the t-distribution table with df = 41 and a significance level of 5%, the critical value was 1.683. The analysis showed that t_calculated > t_table (5.786 > 1.683) and the significance value (2-tailed) = 0.000 < 0.005. Therefore, H₀ is rejected and Hₐ is accepted. It can be concluded that the Project-Based Learning model significantly affects the mathematical conceptual understanding of fourth-grade students in Cluster XIV, Bengkulu City.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a learning media in the form of the ICARUS (Interactive Creative Active Relevant Understanding Shape) application for plane geometry material as an effort to support mathematics learning for fourth-grade students at State Elementary School 81 Bengkulu City. This research is a Research and Development (R&D) study using the ADDIE development model. The research was conducted in 5 stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation, carried out through small-scale trials to measure teacher and student responses. The instruments used were product validation sheets, teacher response questionnaires, and student response questionnaires. The feasibility of the ICARUS application was obtained through validation results conducted by four competent expert validators, including material experts, language experts, and graphic design experts. The validity of the ICARUS application learning media was obtained based on Aiken's V calculation results with an average material validity value of 0.96, language 0.86, and graphic design 0.93, all of which fall into the "very valid" category. Reliability testing using Percentage Agreement (PA) showed an agreement percentage above 80% with a strong agreement level, proving the consistency of assessments among validators and the reliability of the validation instrument. The practicality percentage value of the ICARUS application through teacher responses was 97.3% and student response results were 92.96% with an overall average of 95.13%, falling into the "very practical" category. The validation and small-scale trials through teacher and student responses indicate that the ICARUS application is highly valid and suitable for use as a mathematics learning media for plane geometry material in elementary schools.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the process of making montage art works and the results of montage art works for class IV Elementary School 5, Bengkulu City. The type of research used in this research is descriptive qualitative research. The subjects of this research were 3.0 students in class IV of Bengkulu City State Elementary School 5. Data collection techniques were in the form of observation sheets, interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques are carried out by collecting data, reducing data, presenting data, and drawing conclusions. The results of the research are (1) the process of making a montage work on the theme of a healthy environment, consisting of 5 groups based on indicators of a The stage of making a montage work is the preparation stage, each group prepares tools and materials In the second stage of initial arrangement (temporary arrangement), groups 4 and 5 felt confused when arranging the image pieces, after that the permanent arrangement stage, each group attached the image pieces on the base area with using glue. The final finishing stages for groups 1 and 4 are adding colored strokes around the image. (2) the results of the montage work on the theme of a healthy environment seen from the indicators channels which consists of 5 montage works, in the work of group 1 there are no pictures of people throwing rubbish in their places, only pictures of places. Concluded that each group has been created through preparation stages, initial structuring stages and final completion.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the contextualization of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) within the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum at SD Negeri 44 Bengkulu Selatan. The Merdeka Curriculum emphasizes character development aligned with Pancasila values through project-based learning. Contextualization is crucial to connect P5 with local culture and community potential, ensuring meaningful learning experiences for students. The research employed a qualitative descriptive approach with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving teachers, the principal, and students. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, display, and verification, with triangulation for validity. The findings reveal that the contextualization process of P5 at SDN 44 Bengkulu Selatan is carried out through stages of planning, implementation, and evaluation. Planning involved theme selection and integration of local culture and entrepreneurship. Implementation emphasized collaboration, creativity, and student-centered learning activities. Evaluation was conducted through reflection and authentic assessment involving teachers and students. Despite several challenges such as limited resources and teachers’ understanding of contextualization strategies, the project contributed positively to the internalization of Pancasila values, preservation of local culture, and development of students’ creativity and independence. The study suggests the need for continuous teacher training and support facilities to strengthen contextualized P5 implementation.
