Abstract

The purpose of this studi is to find an expectations and variability as estimators of the risk of earthquakes occurring in each province in Indonesia. Indonesia is a country that prone to natural disasters, especially earthquakes and tsunamis. The earthquake disaster damage the buildings and casualties. The risk of loss from earthquakes can be transferred using insurance. Insurance companies certainly need an analysis to estimate the probability of an earthquake occurring at a certain location and time. Hazard rate has an important role in the prediction theory of the process of earthquakes. The hazard rate can be known by the single decrement method. After the hazard rate is known, the survival function and the distribution function of the cumulative distribution of earthquake data in Indonesia will be known to look for expectations and variability as estimators of the risk of earthquakes occurring in each province in Indonesia. The data used in this study is earthquake that happen in Indonesia categorized as destructive earthquake minimum 5 magnitude. We used the data to compare a hazard function using linear model, quadratic model, cubic model and exponential. First, we plot and then using each models find the standard error. The best model suggest for Indonesia prediction Time of Earthquake Occurrence using an exponential model.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out a comprehensive picture of students' mathematical understanding in the online learning process, especially in the triangle and quadrilateral material. The study was conducted on 20 students in MTs. Nurul Islah Gegelang. The qualitative research method was chosen. Interactive analysis is applied to obtain in-depth information related to interpreting research findings. Data collection is done by using zoom meeting. The research data are in the form of test scores for mathematical understanding abilities, observation sheets related to the online learning process carried out and in-depth interviews to determine students' mathematical understanding abilities. The results of the study showed that, out of 20 students, only 8 students scored 30 and 12 were below. The ability of students' mathematical understanding in the online learning process was still very poor, especially in the concept of triangles and quadrilaterals. Students' understanding is still limited to memorizing properties without understanding in detail the characteristics of each flat shape. Students still have difficulty in applying formulas to triangles and quadrilaterals in solving problems.

Abstract

A well-constructed concept can aid pupils in comprehending any learning content. However, as seen by how students solve math problems, the construction process frequently encounters flaws. Students make various conceptual construction errors in online learning. This is a qualitative study conducted on Mathematics Education students of Universitas Papua. The purpose of this study was to determine the errors made by students in constructing concepts of functions during online learning. Five subjects were selected as the subjects. They were chosen by using the purposive sampling technique. The instrument was developed using material from online lectures on functions and has been validated by experts in the field of mathematics education. The findings indicated that there were five misconstruction concepts, i.e. pseudo construction, construction holes, mis-logical construction, mis-analogical construction, and misconstruction in problem-solving. For further research, to avoid unnecessary construction errors, it is recommended that before the learning process is carried out, the teacher should know the construction of students’ concepts, so that the process of students’ conceptual change in online learning can be known.

Abstract

The policy of studying at home requires students to organize their learning. The ability of students to manage their own learning is also known as self-regulation learning (SRL) ability. Interactive multimedia in learning is expected to help students manage their learning independently. This study aims to describe student’s SRL ability and learning outcomes in mathematics learning with the help of interactive multimedia. It is also to analyze the relationship between SRL and student learning outcomes after learning mathematics with the help of interactive multimedia. This research is descriptive that involved 274 of 7th grader students. Data were collected using tests and questionnaires. The data analysis technique used descriptive statistics and simple linear regression. The results showed that the students' average SRL in the medium category and student learning outcomes were enough. Student self-regulation learning has a positive effect on learning outcomes. Thus, interactive multimedia makes students more independent in learning to increase their self-regulation learning abilities and ultimately improve their learning outcomes. Therefore, to foster students' SRL skills, teachers can use interactive multimedia as an alternative media in learning mathematics.

Abstract

Under classical statistics Hotelling 〖 T〗^2 control chart is applied when the observations of quality characteristics are precise, exact, or crips data. However, in reality, under uncertain conditions, the observations are not necessarily precise, exact, or indeterminacy. As a consequence, the classical Hotelling〖 T〗^2control chart is not appropriate to monitor the process for this condition. To tackle this situation, we proposed new Hotelling 〖 T〗^2 monitoring scheme based on a fuzzy neutrosophic concept. Neutrosophic is the generalization of fuzzy. It is used to handle uncertainty using indeterminacy. The combination of statistics based on neutrosophic Hotelling 〖 T〗^2 and classical Hotelling 〖 T〗^2 control chart will be proposed to tackle indeterminacy observations. The proposed Hotelling 〖 T〗^2 statistics, its call neutrosophic Hotelling 〖 T〗^2 (T_N^2 ) control chart. This chart involves the indeterminacy of observations, its call neutrosophic data and will be expressed in the indeterminacy interval. T_N^2 control charts consist T_N^2 lower chart and T_N^2 upper chart. In this paper, the neutrosophic Hotelling T^2will be applied to individual observations of glass production and will be compared by using classical Hotelling T^2 control chart. Based on T_N^2 control charts of glass production, nine points fall outside of 〖UCL〗_N of lower control chart and 24 points outside from 〖UCL〗_N  of upper control chart. Whereas using classical Hotelling T^2 control chart, just one point outside frim UCL. From the comparison, it concluded that the neutrosophic Hotelling T^2 control chart is more suitable for the indeterminacy of observations.

Abstract

Economic development is affected by several factors, one of which is the inflation rate. One indicator used to measure the inflation rate is Consumer Price Index (CPI). The CPI data is recorded simultaneously at several locations over time, produces space-time data. In Central Java Province, CPI is calculated in six regency/cities, so the CPI is affected by the time and other locations named space-time effect. The forecasting methods involve space and time effect simultaneously is GSTAR. This study used the GSTAR model to forecasting the CPI in 3 cities in Central Java, assuming that autoregressive and space-time parameters differ for each location. This study aims to obtain the best GSTAR model to forecast the CPI in three cities in Central Java by using the IDW and NCC weighting. The results indicated that the best GSTAR model for forecast the CPI in three cities (Surakarta, Semarang, and Tegal) was the GSTARI (1,1,1) model. The GSTARI (1,1,1) model fulfils the assumption of homoscedasticity, white noise, and multivariate normal. The MAPE values obtained using the IDW and NCC weighting are 0.2922% and 0.2914%, respectively. From these results, it can be concluded that the best GSTARI (1,1,1) model to forecast the CPI data in three cities in Central Java is NCC weights, as they have a minimum MAPE value . The results of this research can  be used as consideration for the government in making economic policies at the present and in the future.

Abstract

Some conjectures related to the radical theory of rings are still open. Hence, the research on the radical theory of rings is still being investigated by some prominent authors. On the other hand, some results on the radical theory of rings can be implemented in another branch or structure. In radical theory, it is interesting to bring some radical classes into graded versions. In this chance, we implement a qualitative method to conduct the research to bring the Brown-McCoy radical class to the restricted graded Brown-McCoy radical class as research objective. We start from some known facts on the Brown-McCoy radical class and furthermore, let G be a group, we explain the Brown-McCoy radical restricted with respect to the group G. The result of this paper, we describe the Brown-McCoy radical in restricted graded version and it is denoted by G^G. Furthermore, we also give the fact by explaining G^G (A)=(〖G(A))〗_G, for any ring A, as the final outcome of this paper.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify and classify any errors made by students in solving problems of non-homogeneous order n differential equations and to find out what causes students to make errors in solving problems. This research is a qualitative descriptive research. The instruments used in this study were the Mathematical Ability Test, the Differential Equation Problem Solving Test and interview guidelines. The selection of subjects began by giving a math ability test to 35 students in the class. From the results of these tests, 3 students were then selected from a variety of errors to become research subjects. The criteria for selecting research subjects refer to: (a) the number of mistakes made by students in answering test questions; (b) variations in the types of errors made by students; (c) have the ability to communicate both orally and in writing; (d) willing to be interviewed. Based on the results of the study, information was obtained that the types of student errors in solving non-homogeneous order n differential equations based on the Kastolan stages were: (1) conceptual errors consisted of errors in the use of formulas in answering questions and using formulas that were not in accordance with the conditions or prerequisites for enactment formulas, (2) procedural errors consist of errors because they cannot solve the problem in the simplest form and errors because they cannot continue the completion step, (3) technical errors consist of errors in calculating the value of a arithmetic operation, errors in writing that there is constant or variable written wrong or forgot not to write or an error moving a constant or variable from one step to the next, and improperly substituting values into variables. While the factors that cause student errors in solving problems of non-homogeneous order n differential equations are students who do not understand the prerequisite materials needed to solve problems of non-homogeneous order n differential equations, do not understand the concept of determining the general form of a special solution with certain prerequisites, student skills in carrying out arithmetic operations they are still lacking, less thorough, in a hurry, and nervous so that there are several completion steps that are miscalculated, missed, not written down, and not converted to the simplest form.
