Abstract

The contextual learning model is an approach designed with the aim of making the learning process relevant to the reality of students' lives. It does not only emphasize cognitive understanding, but also emphasizes affective and psychomotor understanding. The contextual learning model provides innovation in Islamic Religious Education learning, especially in students' understanding. This study aims to describe the implementation of the contextual learning model, supporting factors and obstacles to the implementation of the contextual learning model of Islamic religious education at SMP Negeri 2 Wuryantoro. The research approach used is phenomenology with a qualitative research type. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and document studies. Data analysis carried out was data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of the study stated that the implementation of the contextual learning model of Islamic Religious Education in the school had implemented seven components of contextual learning, including constructivism, finding, asking, learning communities, modeling, reflection, and authentic assessment. The components of the learning community and modeling have proven to be very effective in making the learning process more relevant which encourages the development of student character and the need for real examples. In conclusion, the combination of contextual components makes learning more meaningful and relevant. In addition, there are supporting factors, namely curriculum, educators, facilities and infrastructure, and the environment, while inhibiting factors include interests, intelligence, motivation, and attitudes or behavior of students, so educators must also provide guidance to ensure that students are able to understand the meaning of learning.

Abstract

Virtual learning spaces that are contextual and interactive have become a primary need in geography education, particularly in en hancing students’ spatial thinking skills. This study focuses on developing a virtual reality-based learning medium, designed as a digital learning space to facilitate the study of plantation resource potential. The purpose of this research is to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of learning medium in improving students’ spatial thinking abilities. The research method employed is the ADDIE model, consisting of five stages (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Data collection was conducted through direct observation. For the analysis of the collected data, the researcher used descriptive statistical analysis techniques. The results indicate that the developed learning medium falls into the category of highly valid. Expert evaluations showed that media expert rated the learning medium at 84.70%, while material expert gave a score of 83.75%. Furthermore, student respondents rated the medium at 84.62%, and teacher respondents provided a score of 94.11%. Based on these four evaluation result, the medium is categorized as highly valid and suitable for use in the learning process. Additionally, the medium has a positive impact on students’ spatial thinking abilities, as evidence by an increase in average student scores at each stage, with a 37.38% improvement in stage 1 and a 7.63% improvement in stage 2. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the developed medium is highly appropriate for application in learning activities and has a positive effect on enhancing students’ spatial thinking skills.

Abstract

The Community Learning Center (PKBM), through its Paket C program, plays a vital role in providing equality education for individuals unable to access formal schooling. This study aims to develop a proficiency test -based assessment instrument designed to holistically evaluate the competencies of Paket C learners. The instrument assesses mastery of academic material, functional skills, and entrepreneurial abilities, which are distinctive features of the Paket C program. The research adopts a qualitative approach, utilizing observation to create test specifications, blueprints, and items tailored to appropriate difficulty levels, discrimination indices, and distractor functions. The findings indicate that proficiency test s address the limitations of the current assessment system, which primarily focuses on standardized examinations, by offering a more comprehensive, valid, and relevant evaluation aligned with workforce demands. Moreover, the flexible scheduling and needs-based approach of Paket C education provide broader access for working individuals or those who have not completed formal education. Proficiency test s also ensure the fulfillment of Graduate Competency Standards (Standar Kompetensi Lulusan or SKL) through assessments that integrate Competency Credit Unit (SKK)-based curricula and the evaluation of applied skills. The study recommends the adoption of proficiency test s as an integral part of Paket C's educational evaluation system to create a more inclusive, adaptive, and relevant assessment model that aligns with the learners' needs and the challenges of the modern workforce.

Abstract

The reality that emerges in the field is that not all teachers are able to implement differentiated learning that is suitable for students' ability levels, students' interests and can attract students to learn. The age of the teacher, the level of creativity, the facilities and infrastructure available at school and the support of various parties are also some of the reasons for this differentiation not happening, so that the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum has not been fully optimized in accordance with government expectations. The non-optimal implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum is the cause of students' lack of scientific reasoning and the resulting decline in learning outcomes, especially in IPAS learning.  In connection with this problem, the purpose of this study is to examine the validity of practicality, and the effectiveness of multirepresentation-based LKPD with a scientific approach to improve scientific reasoning and learning outcomes of elementary school students in IPAS learning. This research uses a development research design (Research and Development), where the method used is research that produces products, namely in the form of multirepresentation-based LKPD with a scientific approach to force material. This research was conducted at SD Negeri Jarit 01 Candipuro District, Lumajang Regency with respondents from class IV totaling 44 students. Based on the test of the effectiveness of the product obtained N-Gain value> 70, it can be concluded that the use of multirepresentation-based LKPD using scientific approach.

Abstract

The focus of this article's discussion is on national-oriented history learning based on the 2010 AFF football history events. The aim of this research is to examine the historical events of Indonesian Football at the 2010 AFF as a reflection in national-oriented history learning. The method used in this research is the historical research method which consists of four stages, including heuristics, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography. The sources used in this research are primary sources which include newspaper archives and video replays of the 2010 AFF matches. Apart from that, secondary sources are also used which consist of books, journals and previous research that are relevant to the themes and problems studied. . The results of this research are about how students respond to a historical event as a form of learning that must be examined critically and able to be reflected in real life. This study can be used as material for reflection to take better steps in the future. Like the AFF event in 2010, it can be used as a source of motivation for Indonesian football to be better, not the opposite. Because this is a point where initially success is not permanent but can experience change. One of the reasons is because there was an error at the end. If this is not addressed well, it will potentially cause disappointment. Of course, this phenomenon can be an important lesson, namely understanding that initial assessments do not always have a big and dynamic influence. By seeing or reflecting on this event, students are expected to be able to respond to national feelings wisely, one of which is through learning history with a national perspective.

Abstract

Education is a learning process that aims to develop individual potential optimally, including aspects of knowledge, skills, attitudes and moral values. The success of the educational process is greatly influenced by the availability of facilities and infrastructure, both in schools and universities. Facilities and infrastructure are the main components that support learning activities. The absence of these facilities can hinder the learning process, which ultimately affects student learning outcomes. This research aims to analyze the influence of facilities and infrastructure on student learning outcomes at SMK Negeri 1 Lotu. The research method uses a quantitative approach with a descriptive design. The research subjects were 21 class XII students of the Department of Design, Modeling and Building Information (DPIB). Data was obtained through questionnaires for facilities and infrastructure variables, as well as documentation for learning outcome variables. The data analysis technique uses a simple linear regression formula. The research results show that there is a positive and significant influence between facilities and infrastructure on student learning outcomes. The simple regression equation obtained is Ŷ = 48.329 + 0.425X, meaning that every increase in one unit of facilities and infrastructure increases learning outcomes by 0.425 points. Hypothesis test (tcount = 2.744>ttable=2.074tcount = 2.744 > ttable = 2.074tcount=2.744>ttable=2.074) with a significant value of 0.013 (<0.05) indicating the alternative hypothesis is accepted. The contribution of facilities and infrastructure to student learning outcomes is 28.4%. In conclusion, facilities and infrastructure play an important role in student learning outcomes, but other factors such as teaching quality, motivation and learning environment also need to be considered to achieve optimal learning outcomes.

Abstract

One of the fields of expertise that have rapidly advanced in the process of creating economic and financial decisions and regulations locally, nationally, and globally is accounting. This field necessitates not only high accounting knowledge and skills but also communication skills in english, which still holds a status of the world’s lingua franca. Hence, the need for an english for occupational purposes, particularly the English for accountants. This study attempts to investigate the needs of the accounting students as well as professionals and propose a syllabus to meet the needs. To realize the former, job-reporting and interview to two professional accountants were administered, as well as survey to fifty accounting students. To realize the later, the needs analysis results were analyzed and priorities were made. The needs analysis demonstrates that learning speaking skills and listening skills in the context of accounting should be prioritized over the reading and writing skills. More emphasis should also be given to the formal style of communication as well as exposures to actual accounting-related terminologies.  All of which has become the basis for proposing a syllabus design that integrates theme, task, and genre under the principles of Content-Based Instruction that centers on the teaching the subject content through language. Therefore, the syllabus should be prepared not only by the English instructor but also the accounting instructor. Such a syllabus is expected to provide a learning experience that mirrors the actual demand and context of a professional accountant, including the actual and contextual english language usage.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the Islamic education learning curriculum at the Muhammadiyah 1 Surakarta education level in the special program class. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method to identify and evaluate the structure, content and implementation of the current Islamic education curriculum. The results of this research are the Islamic education subject curriculum in the special program class at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Surakarta using the independent learning curriculum learning method. Islamic education subjects have an important role in shaping student character, introducing the values of the Islamic Religion, and preparing them to live according to the teachings of the Islamic Religion.

Abstract

Nationalism is a character trait that reflects attitudes, values, and behaviors demonstrating love, pride, and responsibility towards the nation and the state. Nationalism is not just about love for the homeland, but also includes a commitment to maintaining unity, advocating for common interests, and respecting the diversity present in society. As the next generation, youth bear a significant responsibility in balancing modernization with the preservation of local traditions. This study aims to analyze the role of youth in cultivating the character of nationalism while preserving local wisdom amidst globalization. The research uses a qualitative approach with literature study and in-depth interviews involving youth, community leaders, and cultural practitioners. The focus of the study is on how youth can be a driving force in integrating local wisdom values into daily life without neglecting innovation and progress. The research was conducted in the Tabaggunung Hamlet, Brongkol Village, Jambu Subdistrict, Semarang Regency. This location was chosen because the local culture and wisdom are still thriving. The study began with coordination with the head of Tabaggunung Hamlet, followed by a Focus Group Discussion (FGD). Subsequently, FGDs and in-depth interviews were conducted with several youths, community leaders, and cultural practitioners. The researcher also planned a cultural performance or local cultural attraction presented by the community as a simple demonstration of local culture. This cultural attraction supports the research data regarding the role of youth. The research findings are: (1) Fostering the younger generation in developing and preserving local cultural wisdom, (2) Preserving local cultural wisdom through local arts, (3) Building character education for the community through local arts.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of financial literacy and self-control on the consumptive behavior of 10th and 11th grade Accounting and Finance students at SMK Negeri 6 Surakarta. High consumptive behavior among students can affect their personal financial management in the future. This study uses a quantitative method with a survey approach, where data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 141 students selected using the Slovin formula. The variables studied include financial literacy (X1), self-control (X2), and consumptive behavior (Y). The data collected were analyzed using multiple regression with the help of SPSS 22. The results of the study indicate that financial literacy positively influences consumptive behavior, meaning that the higher the students' financial literacy, the more likely they are to spend money consumptively. On the other hand, self-control negatively influences consumptive behavior, showing that students with better self-control tend to be more prudent in managing their expenditures. Regression tests show that both variables significantly affect students' consumptive behavior. This study concludes that good financial literacy can encourage consumptive behavior, but high self-control can reduce this tendency. The limitation of this study lies in its focus on only two variables, so it is recommended that future research include additional relevant variables to gain a more comprehensive understanding.
