Abstract

The purpose of this study is to critically analyze or re-measure Islamic religious education materials in countering accusations of radicalism to Muslims. The term radicalism has become a familiar term attached to a group in Islam. Indicators to call groups in Islam radicalism to include terrorism, anarchists, rebels, and extremists. The research method uses a descriptive type of research. The results of this study are one of the causes of the trapping of elements in radicalism, namely a partial understanding of religion and tends to the nature of fanaticism. This trait then results in a sense of superiority over followers of other religions. Failing to understand the concept of jihad in religion makes someone take a shortcut by spreading terror to innocent people. the logical consequence of this interpretation is the juxtaposition of terrorism as the fruit of radicalism. This hypothesis is reasonable, considering that various terrorist activities in various parts of the world always act in the name of jihad carried out by Muslims as a form of obedience to God. This has led to various upheavals which, without realizing it, will not only have implications for the decline in national stability. However, it even sparked a negative response from various parts of the world. Therefore, it is necessary to have an inclusive understanding of religion so that religious adherents realize that plurality is a necessity. Seeing these problems, there needs to be a strengthening and reaffirmation of the originality of Islamic teachings that contain humanist pluralistic and tolerant values. The conclusion is that a very strategic role, in this case, is that Islamic religious education materials must be able to reconstruct relevant materials to counteract accusations of radicalism. It is at this point that the focus of the study in this article is trying to critically analyze or re-measure Islamic religious education materials that tend to be humanist-pluralist and tolerant to ward off accusations of radicalism in Islam.

Abstract

The people apanage of Bali know the concept of Kasta. Such stratification creates different views between the Tri Wangsa and jaba groups. The Tri Wangsa want an acribed status, whereas the Sudra or Jaba group want the achieved status, which in turn leads to polemics among the people of Bali apanage. As a qualitative study with a cultural perspective, this study aims to reveal and analyze more clearly the blurring of the varna system into a kasta concept in Balinese Hindu society. Data sources are extracted based on bibliographic or documentary data. Data collection using reading techniques and recording techniques. Data analysis on the problem is done by qualitative descriptive analysis and comparative analysis. The results showed that the blurring of the varna system into a kasta concept is inseparable from the royal politics of its time. The traditional educational system originating from Hindu literature and religion can only be enjoyed by the upper layers, the brahmins and the knights, while the sudra or jaba classes are strictly prohibited. The Kasta architects of Bali in the past few centuries, so expertly exploit the situation of the backwardness of Hindus outside the brahmans and the knights, so the teachings of Hinduism are manipulated in terms of caste naming. The elements of caste plagiarize the elements of varna that are indeed Hindu teachings. In addition, Dutch colonial politics is also very influential on the order of life in Bali, which causes problems in the system of social status. The Dutch government has not fully implemented the modern system of government. This is evident in the system of appointment of new employees (civil servants). The Dutch government has not carried out according to rational legal criteria, but still uses the traditional system of judging a person in terms of the height of the Kasta, not in terms of ability. Therefore, it is necessary to increase knowledge of village manners in the field of customary law and knowledge of village manners in the field of religion according to what is stated in the Hindu scriptures.

Abstract

Evangelizing which is commonly called "preaching the good news" is not only a belief that has been bestowed on every person who believes in Jesus Christ, but also an obligation that His church must carry out as one of the priority tasks. However, evangelism in fact ranks as the fourth leading cause of the growth in the number of congregations in the church in the last ten years with a figure of only 1.7%. This study aims to analyze the causes of the crisis of evangelism among churches in Indonesia in an effort to maximize the implementation of the fulfillment of the Great Commission of Jesus Christ. The descriptive qualitative approach is the method used in the implementation of this research by analyzing and collecting data through book sources and digital articles, as well as journals and other documents related to the topic that is the subject of the study. As a result, the causes of the crisis of evangelism among churches in Indonesia are due to: First, some believers feel they are not called to be evangelists and so feel unable to evangelize. Second, some believers know that preaching the Good News is the responsibility of believers and the church, but are afraid of the threats that can be experienced related to carrying out the preaching of the gospel. In conclusion, evangelism is not an option that can be chosen, but the obligation of every believer based on love for God and neighbor. The crisis in the implementation of evangelism has proven to be hampering the growth of the church in Indonesia, because without the implementation of evangelism, it is difficult to see the Kingdom of God being enlarged on this earth.

Abstract

Religious harmony is a goal that is difficult for the people to achieve by the government or figures in various countries. All the work that was done has been good. However, the effort has not led to the completeness of what should be done to realize religious harmony. Intolerance is still strong in a pluralistic community environment, such as blasphemy, the closure of houses of worship, the prohibition of religious service, and discrimination against beliefs that are still in minority status. Theology of Acceptance, specifically in Christianity and Islam, can be complementary to all the efforts that have been done before. So, to get maximum results, researchers conduct qualitative research using qualitative-interpretive approaches to get theological acceptance from the understanding of Christianity and Islam. The result of the findings of this study is that religious harmony can occur by implementing fraternal theology.
