Abstract

Humans outwardly continue to develop and this development does not only cause positive impacts but also negative impacts accompanying human life individually and socially. Humans are naturally a leader for themselves and other individuals, but not all humans are aware of this, of course we need a concept or the right footing, in order to awaken the spirit of leadership in oneself as a whole human being based on dharma. The purpose of this research is to know and be able to apply the concept and contextual Hindu leadership in building a whole person. This research uses the research method of Library Research, which is qualitative in nature, with two data analysis strategies, namely the qualitative descriptive analysis strategy model and the verification analysis strategy. The development of Hindu leadership science is broadly sourced from Nitisastra as a leadership science. Nitisastra emphasizes the purpose of human life to improve balanced physical and spiritual well-being in the life of a whole person. In addition to Nitisastra, there is literature containing values and leadership teachings known as Geguritan Niti Raja Sasana. Whole human beings based on Hindu leadership apply the concept of Asta Brata which is the eight basic mental attitude for a leader in carrying out the dharma of religion and the dharma of the state. The conclusion from the results of this study is that as a human being, it is necessary to understand the teachings of Hindu leadership that have been contained in the nitisastra and geguritan niti raja sesana literature by applying the Hindu leadership concept in everyday life in order to build a complete human being that is relevant to the goals of Hinduism. namely to achieve Jagadhita and Moksha.

Abstract

Yajña routines are generally known by the public, especially by Hindus in Bali. However, often the Yajña routine is only seen as a ritual and lacks philosophical understanding. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct further evaluation studies, especially on the understanding of Hindu students in higher education regarding the existence of the Yajña. This research is a field research, with a qualitative descriptive research method. The selection of participants is not directed at the number, but is based on the principles of suitability and adequacy to achieve data saturation. The technique of determining the research subject in this study used purposive sampling, with a psychological approach. The primary data in this study is the result of interviews between researchers and the main resource persons, namely Hindu students of STIKes Wira Medika Bali. Data collection techniques were carried out through interviews, literature and documentation, which were then analyzed using the Colaizzi method. This study aims to transform understanding to the younger generation of Hindus regarding how, what and why the Yajña is carried out. The results showed that the optional dominance of the perception of Hindu students at STIKes Wira Medika Bali towards the implementation of Yajña tends to lead to the context of quantity, which indicates that students tend to more easily understand Yajña in the context of nominal or amount, compared to the quality aspect. This indicates that there is still a need for further improvement of Hindu religious methods and materials, especially in planting an understanding of the existence of Yajña.

This research concludes that lay catechists in Ru'a Parish have carried out the tri-duties of the Church's mission according to the gospel mandate in the five areas of church duties. Their contribution has been positive in growing the faith of the people. However, they have faced many challenges, including the mindset of the people who valued the pastoral work of the clergy more than the laity. This study recommends that parishes pay more attention to the pastoral work of catechists and educate parishioners to have a more positive mindset in appreciating the pastoral work of lay catechists.
