Abstract

The Jakarta City Government, along with the central government, has implemented various measures to address the issue of air pollution that has become a serious problem for the city. One of the efforts undertaken is to increase the provision of urban green spaces and restore the function of the GBK City Forest as a public green open space (GOS). However, there has been no research showing the public's perspective and satisfaction with the utilization of the GBK City Forest. This study aims to determine the level of public satisfaction with the GBK City Forest based on social-cultural functions. The assessment indicators used to measure public satisfaction in this study are based on the theory of cultural ecosystem services developed by Shijie Gai et al. The data used in this study were obtained using mixed methods data collection techniques through questionnaires (quantitative) as well as in-depth interviews and literature studies (qualitative). Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the majority of the public is highly satisfied with the utilization of the social-cultural functions of the GBK City Forest. However, some people still complain about the lack of supporting facilities for recreational activities and the disturbances from external parties that make them feel uncomfortable when engaging in activities at the GBK City Forest. Therefore, it is important for the government and the GBK City Forest management to consider public feedback and improve the quality and safety of the existing facilities.

Abstract

Food estate is a concept for developing food production which is carried out in an integrated manner and consists of agriculture, plantations and even animal husbandry on large areas of land. This article aims to examine the development of food estates based on agrarian reform which is being carried out in Java, especially in West Java. The material for this article was obtained through qualitative methods. The type of qualitative method used is multiple case studies. Data collection is divided into two, namely primary data collection techniques and secondary data. Secondary data was obtained through document study, while primary data was obtained through observation and interviews. The research results show that food estates in West Java, especially in the case of development in Sukawargi Village, have shown quite encouraging results. Farmers can streamline production costs while increasing production yields. The Agribusiness Operational Cooperation (KOA) partnership model allows farmers to gain increased income and also be free from the ties of middlemen. There has been a significant change where farmers, who previously continued to carry out traditional agricultural practices passed down from generation to generation, have changed to modern agriculture based on agricultural mechanization and innovation. Different things happen in Mekarwangi Village where basic problems related to agricultural supporting infrastructure are not yet available. This condition shows that Mekarwangi Village needs to be encouraged to fulfill the basic prerequisites for food estate development so that its success and sustainability can also be ensured.

Abstract

The use of social media has become an integral part of everyday life, including in people's political participation.  Campus community political participation is greatly influenced by social media. Social media such as Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp have a significant impact on political engagement. People use social media as a political campaign tool, as well as a means of communicating and obtaining political information that is fast, accurate and reliable. This research aims to determine the influence of social media on political participation in campus communities. The method used is descriptive qualitative. The data collection method was carried out by interviewing students. Participants in this research were PPI FUSI UINSU students using structured interviews conducted with 30 PPI FUSI UINSU students. Data is collected and analyzed to identify levels of media use, participation and politics. The research results show that social media is very important for citizen participation, especially the community. The role of social media as a medium for information about politics is quite large. Social media as a communication tool for seeking political information, social media has positive and negative impacts on the political participation of campus communities, especially in increasing political awareness and participation through online information and discussions and the spread of hoax news.  With easy access and fast dissemination of information, social media allows students to more easily engage in political discussions, express opinions, and gather support for various issues. Apart from that, social media also helps in mass mobilization to attend demonstrations, elections and other political events. Social media has an important role in increasing the political participation of students in the Fusion Islamic Education Study Program at UIN North Sumatra. As a result, political participation among students has become more active and dynamic, creating a younger generation who is more aware and critical of developing political issues.

Abstract

Disposal of waste water which is a basic sterilization to oblige the kitchen to waste water and other waste. Seepage water drainage channels are very important, because waste water drainage channels can also limit the spread of disease to the local area. The aim of this research is to see the contribution of Islamic values to the community-based wastewater management installation program in the 01 Tanah Seribu Village environment. This research uses a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach. Results of research on Islamic quality commitment to regional-based water waste by implementers of climate development programs in Tanah Seribu District 01, with details: 1) Viability is considered not yet ideal because the implementation of water content quality testing is not optimal because it does not pay attention to needs and the KPP's lack of attention to support WWTP. 2) The productivity of IPAL construction is considered large because it receives financial assistance from the APBN. However, functional expenditure is not yet ideal due to low regional support. 3) The arrangement should be ideal considering that the benefits of the program are mostly felt by the local area. 4) Adequacy is ideal because the IPAL program has many benefits. 5) Responsiveness regarding public reactions is considered certain, but open attitudes are still lacking. 6) Precision is not in accordance with Islamic qualities because there is no public awareness, but it is considered ideal because it tends to be the answer to the defeat of the water waste problem. Based on Islamic values, it can be concluded that the IPAL program in Environment 01, Tanah Seribu Subdistrict is in line with Islamic values as seen in terms of environmental cleanliness which is increasingly maintained. However, on the other hand, community participation is still less than optimal in being responsible for protecting and preserving the environment.

Abstract

Waste management includes reducing and handling waste in a sustainable, systematic and comprehensive manner. Waste is not only a cause of environmental damage, but is also a real result of human activities. Waste management can start from the smallest scale, namely by separating household waste based on type. This study attempts to determine how the community can use household waste to generate economic value, find out what obstacles occur in the procedure for managing home garbage, and discover the village government's involvement in motivating the neighborhood to dispose of waste properly. This study combines descriptive research techniques with a qualitative methodology. This study uses data reduction, data presentation, conclusion drawing, and verification as data analysis techniques. Technical triangulation as well as source triangulation are used to verify the veracity of the data in this study. Six sources were involved in the observations and interviews that produced the data. Apart from that, data was also obtained based on the outcomes of literature studies. The analysis results show that the community is still limited in managing waste, such as burning household waste and processing it into plant fertilizer, where the use of waste does not yet bring economic value to the community. Waste management has obstacles, namely the lack of adequate facilities to manage household waste properly and correctly. In waste utilization, the government's role is still minimal or lacking in managing household waste into profitable value.

Abstract

Mount Kumbang, located in Ketanggungan Subdistrict, Brebes Regency, has been utilized as a site for ascetic practices since pre-Islamic times up to the present. This research aims to discuss the transition of ascetic practices due to Islamization on the slopes of Mount Kumbang from the 16th century to the present. The research focuses on the narrative of the encounter between pre-Islamic asceticism and Islamization, the forms of cultural reconciliation between pre-Islamic traditions and Islam, and how the ascetic community on Mount Kumbang has been politically portrayed in the process of Islamization. The historical method, encompassing heuristic processes, criticism, interpretation, and historiography, was employed in this research. The results demonstrate that the encounter between pre-Islamic asceticism and Islamization proceeded peacefully and was full of reconciliation. The narrative of Islamization and pre-Islamic asceticism appears in the "Babad Cirebon" and local folklore, which recount the continuation of ascetic traditions such as meditation practiced by Islamic disseminators on Mount Kumbang. Cultural reconciliation between pre-Islamic asceticism and Islamization is also evident in historical narratives, oral sources, and the culture of the community on the slopes of Mount Kumbang, such as taboos, the "ngasa" ritual, and religious practices that exhibit archaic characteristics and are well-documented in historical sources from both the colonial period and the present. The ascetic community has also politically contributed to Islamization by being portrayed as peacefully accepting Islamization, albeit not fully in its entirety. The ascetic community has been utilized as agents to depict the acceptance of Islam, even though it was not shown through perfect Islamic practices. The conclusion of this research indicates the continuity of ascetic practices from pre-Islamic traditions to Islamic traditions, as recorded in historical sources from the Islamic, colonial, and contemporary periods.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effectiveness of priority village policy programs in accelerating stunting reduction in Sidoarjo Regency. Referring to Siagian's theory of effectiveness which includes the role of government as a stabilizer, innovator, modernizer and implementer, this research examines how these roles are implemented in the local context. The method used is qualitative with a descriptive approach. Data was obtained through literature studies which included policy documents, government reports and relevant scientific articles. The technique for determining informants was carried out purposively, by selecting informants who had relevant experience and knowledge regarding the implementation of stunting programs at the village level, namely the Sidoarjo District Health Service. The research results show that the government's role as a stabilizer is reflected in the political and social stability that supports the desires of these programs. As an innovator, the government has succeeded in introducing various new initiatives that improve the quality of children's nutrition and health. The role as a modernizer can be seen from efforts to modernize health and sanitation facilities, as well as educating the public. As implementer, the government shows high commitment by directly implementing various program interventions. This research concludes that a holistic approach that integrates these four government roles has shown significant effectiveness in reducing stunting rates in Sidoarjo Regency. From the series of programs and policies implemented in Sidoarjo Regency to accelerate stunting reduction, holistic effectiveness has been implemented through various program implementations. such as Stabilizers to expand the scope of interventions, Innovators to integrate cross-sector activities, and Modernizers to improve data and information management. As the implementer itself, Sidoarjo Regency also implements regulations and establishes a responsible team, stunting programs can produce a significant positive impact in preventing stunting.

Abstract

Findings of structural violence in the world of education continue to occur today. One type of structural violence that often occurs in the educational environment is educational discrimination against minorities. Cases of educational discrimination were also experienced by the Sapto Darmo sect of faith in Kendal Regency, some of whom experienced difficulties in obtaining formal education. In fact, Kendal is one of the districts in Central Java Province which has 5 developing religious beliefs, one of which is the Sapto Darmo Belief. The purpose of this research is to find out whether Permendikbudristek Regulation No. 46 of 2023 can be used as a legal umbrella for adherents of the Sapto Darmo belief in Kendal Regency or whether this regulation is just a formality. The method used in this research is analyzing the policy results of Minister of Education and Culture Regulation No. 46 of 2023 on the Sapto Darmo belief sect in Kendal Regency using empirical juridical analysis. In particular, this research is targeted to be a reference source for the Kendal Regency Government in providing equal educational rights for adherents of the Sapto Darmo belief system. The results of this research show that Permendikbudristek No. 46 of 2023 has been implemented well for students who adhere to existing beliefs in Kendal Regency, especially the Sapto Darmo belief sect. The conclusion of this research is that the violence that was previously feared would befall religious students in Kendal Regency has gradually improved and there are no longer any reports of schools prohibiting religious students from entering school. If in the future there are still schools that prohibit this, the Kendal Regency Government and the Kendal Regency Education and Culture Office will seek mediation and legal action.

Abstract

The study explores how student activists at the Islamic State University of North Sumatra (UINSU) influence the socio-political dynamics of the digital era 5.0. This era is marked by technological advances that integrate the physical, digital, and biological worlds, thus providing a new platform for student activism. Student activists not only act as agents of change through social and political activities, but they also use digital technology to expand their influence. The research uses a survey method with structured questionnaires distributed to UINSU student activists, as well as a qualitative approach to gaining an in-depth understanding of their views, attitudes, and experiences of socio-political change. Research findings indicate that student activists effectively use social media and digital technology for campaigns and mobilization. Through social media and internet platforms, activists can quickly mobilize people and draw attention to key topics such as gender equality, climate change, and human rights on a global scale. In the digital age of 5.0, student activists can also more successfully challenge existing forces by using digital tactics, including online campaigns, digital petitions, and online boycott movements, in addition to conducting physical demonstrations in public spaces. They not only use technology as a tool of struggle, but also as a new space for building critical awareness and solidarity. However, the research also finds challenges faced by student activists, such as the spread of disinformation and hoaxes, digital gaps, and technology access. Nonetheless, student activists continue to adapt quickly and innovate to overcome these barriers. The study provides significant insights into the role of digital technology in student activism and its implications for healthy political participation in the digital age 5.0, as well as solutions to strengthen the integrity of democracy at the local level.
