Abstract

Banten Forest Park has several natural tourist attractions, one of which is Curug Putri. Curug Putri can be used as a natural tourist attraction and non-timber forest product and if managed well will have economic value. The aim of the research is to determine the economic value of the tourist destination Curug Putri Taman Hutan Raya Banten and examine the influence of visitor income, travel costs and distance traveled on the quantity of visitors to the tourist destination Curug Putri Taman Hutan Raya Banten. Multiple linear regression and the travel cost approach or TCM (Travel Cost Method) are the research methods used. The results of research using the travel cost approach showed that the economic value of Curug Putri Taman Hutan Raya Banten tourism was IDR 4,796,378,496/year. The regression equation shows that visitor income, travel costs, and distance traveled influence the number of visits: Y = 2.431 + 0.362X1 + (- 0.535X2) + 0.333X3. Visitor income (X1) has a value of 0.362. Which means that if there is a one unit increase in visitor income, visitors will make a return visit of 0.362, the distance traveled (X2) is -0.535. This means that if the distance increased by 100 km, there will be a decrease in the number of visits by -0.535, while for transportation costs (X3) the value is 0.333, meaning that if transportation costs increase, the number of visits will increase by 0.333 assuming the other independent variables are considered constant/paribus paribus. After partial testing of all independent variables, only the travel distance variable had a significant effect on the number of visits.

Abstract

Urban development often overlooks the need to ensure good environmental quality. One of the fulfillments of environmental quality is the high oxygen levels in the air. This can be fulfilled by the existence of urban forests in urban areas with an ideal area. This can be done if there is a study on the oxygen needs of urban residents and the ability of urban forests to produce oxygen. The area is compared with the ideal area according to laws and regulations. This study aims to estimate the ideal area of urban forests in each sub-district in Subang Regency. Oxygen needs are calculated based on the oxygen needs of residents and motorized vehicles. . The calculation of oxygen needs considers the total population and the number of vehicles, with the latter estimated using the proportional distribution of vehicle types identified at specific location. Determination of the ideal area of urban forests is calculated using the Gerarkis method. The results of the study showed that the ideal area of urban forests in Subang Regency was 14,965.98 ha, still below the minimum of 10% of its area (21,655.5 ha). A total of 27 sub-districts in Subang Regency showed that the need for the ideal area of urban forests was still below the minimum of 10% of its area. Meanwhile, Subang District, Pagaden District, and Sukasari District are areas that require urban forest area of more than 10% of their area.

Abstract

Tailing is one of the most abundant wastes from gold mining process.  This material usually has a high concentration of some heavy metal such as Pb and Fe, insufficient of some essential elements, and a low caption exchange capacity, organic mater and prohibit microorganism growth. In order to improve rehabilitation tailing area by revegetation, utilization of plant root symbiotic organism, arbuscular mycorrhiza fungi (AMF), have been introduced.  Arbuscular mycorrhiza fungi, however, need to be support to encourage its colonization to host plant in tailing media.   The objectives of this research were to determine the effect of activated compost application on tailing media to spora density and colonization of arbuscular mycorrhiza on host plant (Melia azedarach seedling) as well as its MEI. Three factors complete randomised experimental design was conducted under green house conditions and DMR Test was used to analyse of the effect of tailing, compost and kinds of AM treatment. Percent of AM colonization to mindi seedling root, AM spore number in media, and Mycorrhiza inoculation effect were measured in this experiment. Application of activated compost on tailing media increased colonization of NPI 126 (Glomus etunicatum) up to 4 times.  This treatment also increased spore number and improve colonization of local AM fungi. The positif  of Mycorrhiza inoculation effect (MIE) value was found on tailing media and mix media without actif compost.  Active a Compost application is potential to improve the AMF role in order to increase the plant growth quality.

Abstract

Sepaku River is one of the primary water resources planned to meet the raw water needs of Nusantara Capital City (IKN) in East Kalimantan, Indonesia. This study aims to analyze the water quality of the Sepaku River based on physical, chemical, and microbiological parameters, and to evaluate the differences in water quality at three locations: upstream, midstream, and downstream. The parameters analyzed include pH, Total Suspended Solids (TSS), Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD), Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), and Total Coliform. Data were collected through field surveys and laboratory tests, and analyzed using One-Way ANOVA and Spearman's Rank Correlation. The results show that while the pH levels still meet the water quality standards, TSS, BOD, and Total Coliform exceed the established thresholds. The ANOVA test indicates a significant difference in TSS among the sampling locations, while other parameters show widespread contamination. The Spearman Correlation reveals significant relationships between TSS and BOD, and between BOD and Total Coliform. These findings indicate that pollution in the Sepaku River is complex and interrelated across different parameters. Therefore, integrated and ecosystem-based water quality management is required to support the provision of safe and sustainable raw water for Nusantara Capital City.

Abstract

Berbak and Sembilang National Parks are conservation areas that become habitats for various types of plants and animals, including birds. This stud ypurpose to find species diversity, species evenness, species richness, dominance, species abundance and bird conservation status in Simpang Village. Data collection was carried out using the point count method and transect as many as 3 points which were assumed to represent one ecosystem, namely swamp ecosystems, shrubs and water bodies. The results obtained were 36 types of birds from 22 families. The value of the diversity index in the type of swamp ecosystem of 2,295 and the water body of 2,940 is in the medium category and the shrub ecosystem of 3,754 is relatively high. The three types of ecosystems have a stable distribution of types ranging from 0.21 < E < 1, no species dominate, but have a varied wealth of species, namely in low swamp ecosystems, medium shrub ecosystems and high water body ecosystems. This is due to the existence of three different types of ecosystems in the village, so that each ecosystem has a diverse species composition. Thus, Simpang Village is still classified as having a well-maintained diversity of birds, but still has to make efforts to conserve birds so that the bird population does not decrease, one of which is through continuous counseling by involving parties to educate and increase public awareness in the conservation of birds and their habitats.
