Abstract

This study aims to examine and understand the concept of ethics and moral education in the book of Akhlaqul Banin by Shaykh Umar bin Ahmad Baraja. This book is known as a guide that presents moral values that must be applied in everyday life, especially for children. In this research, a critical study approach was used by the researcher to explore the thoughts of Shaykh Umar bin Ahmad Baraja with ethical education, as well as the relevance of moral teachings in the book to the context of moral education today. The conclusion of the research shows that the book of Akhlaqul Banin strongly emphasises the importance of instilling moral and ethical values from an early age. The ethical education taught in this book focuses on the formation of good character through religious teachings, with the aim of producing individuals who have noble character, politeness, and social responsibility. Although the book was written in a traditional context, the thoughts of Shaykh Umar bin Ahmad Baraja are still relevant to be applied in modern education today, especially in responding to the moral challenges faced by today's young generation. This research also raises the concepts contained in the book of Akhlaqul Banin, which will then be used as guidelines in the development of moral education curriculum at all levels of education, from primary to secondary levels. By looking for the value of education in this book, it is hoped that the author will be able to find a concise way to form a generation that is not only intelligent, but also noble and responsible in facing the increasingly complex challenges of the world in the future.

Abstract

Effective leadership has emerged as a crucial focus within the framework of Merdeka Belajar, a policy that enhances the capacity of educational institutions to innovate and respond to the specific needs of their local communities. The influence of leadership on educational outcomes is profound, affecting both educator performance and the institution's overall effectiveness. A principal who exemplifies strong leadership can significantly enhance teacher effectiveness and improve student achievement. This research seeks to analyze the differing leadership styles of principals in public versus private elementary schools during the Merdeka Belajar initiative. Employing a comparative methodology, the study gathers data through interviews, questionnaires, and observations involving principals, teachers, and staff from both sectors. Findings indicate that public schools generally adopt a transactional leadership approach, whereas private schools are more inclined towards transformational leadership. The study aims to offer valuable insights, suggesting that both public and private institutions should embrace a more adaptable leadership style. In public schools, it is recommended that principals foster a culture of innovation and actively seek input from diverse stakeholders, thereby creating a more collaborative environment for teachers and students alike.

Abstract

The phenomenon of childfree, the decision not to have children, is increasingly becoming a concern in social discourse, especially in the context of modern society which is dominated by the concepts of gender justice and bodily rights. This article analyzes the issue of childfree from the perspective of Islamic feminism through the thoughts of Amina Wadud and Asma Barlas. The main focus of this article is to understand how these two thinkers interpret women's rights, especially regarding the freedom to choose their reproductive roles. Using a qualitative method based on literature study, this research asserts that Islamic feminism, as initiated by Wadud and Barlas, supports women's right to choose childfree as a form of bodily autonomy and moral freedom guaranteed in Islamic teachings. This article also seeks to criticize patriarchal interpretations that limit women to domestic roles. The results show that the childfree decision can be categorized as a form of women's liberation from social pressure that is not in accordance with the principles of justice and equality in Islam.

Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 200 respondents selected using probability sampling techniques. The data were analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) method, version 3. The results show that Viral Marketing has a significant influence on Brand Awareness, with a path coefficient value (O = 0.855), a t-statistic of 32.25 (>1.654), and a p-value of 0.000 (< 0.05). Furthermore, Brand Awareness was found to have a significant influence on purchase decisions, with a path coefficient (O = 0.574), a t-statistic of 5.894 (> 1.654), and a p-value of 0.000 (<0.05). Additionally, Brand Awareness significantly mediates the relationship between Viral Marketing and purchase decisions, with an indirect effect value (O = 0.491), a t-statistic of 5.908 (>1.654), and a p-value of 0.000 (<0.05). In conclusion, an effective Viral Marketing strategy can enhance Brand Awareness, which in turn contributes to increased purchase decisions of Hanasui skincare products among UMMI students.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of risk perception, financial self-efficacy, brand image, Muslim celebrity endorsers, and sharia compliance on Generation Z gold investment decisions in Islamic financial institutions. Using a quantitative approach and data collected through a survey of 150 Generation Z respondents who invest in Islamic gold, this study tested the hypothesis using multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that risk perception, financial self-efficacy, brand image, and sharia compliance had a positive and significant effect on Generation Z gold investment decisions, while Muslim celebrity endorsers did not have a significant effect. Simultaneously, all five variables had a significant effect. These findings imply that Islamic financial institutions need to consider these factors in designing marketing strategies and investment products that suit Generation Z preferences. Sharia compliance is a key factor in attracting Generation Z investors, so financial institutions need to emphasize their commitment to sharia principles.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of firm size, firm age, board of commissioners size, and leverage on the level of disclosure of Islamic Social Reporting (ISR) at Islamic Commercial Banks in Indonesia in the period 2018-2023. The method applied in this research is a quantitative approach with panel data regression analysis, which adopts a regression model known as the Random Effect Model (REM). Sampling through purposive sampling, with the criteria that Islamic Commercial Banks are consistently registered with the OJK from 2018-2023 and banks that provide complete annual reports during that period, and obtained the results of 10 banks with a total of 60 data observations. The data used is taken from the annual reports published on the official website of each bank for 2018-2023. The analysis shows that firm size and board of commissioners size have a positive influence on ISR disclosure. In contrast, firm age has a negative influence, while leverage does not show a significant influence on ISR. The limitations of this study are that it only focuses on several factors that influence the disclosure of Islamic Social Reporting. Future research can consider other factors to obtain comprehensive results.
