Abstract

This article discusses the visualization of knowledge in Islamic education, focusing on the use of visual media as a teaching aid. Historically, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) employed visual methods, such as drawing on the ground, to explain essential concepts to his companions. However, the use of images especially those depicting living beings remains controversial in Islam due to various hadiths that prohibit such practices. This study uses a qualitative approach based on literature review to examine relevant hadiths and the perspectives of both classical and contemporary scholars regarding the use of visual media in education. The findings indicate that although there are strict prohibitions on creating images of living beings, their use in educational contexts with good intentions and for instructional purposes is acceptable, provided it does not violate Islamic principles. Knowledge visualization through infographics, diagrams, and educational videos has proven effective in enhancing students’ understanding of Islamic teachings, especially in delivering abstract concepts and historical narratives. Therefore, the integration of visual media in Islamic education should be carried out wisely and selectively to support effective learning while upholding Islamic values.

Abstract

Drug abuse is a complex problem that impacts health, social, and economic aspects. Rehabilitation efforts are crucial in addressing it, particularly through an effective and humanistic communication approach. This study aims to explore the role of participatory communication in the Motivational Interviewing (MI) method in the rehabilitation process for mild and moderate drug abusers at the Pratama Clinic of the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) in South Kalimantan Province. Using a qualitative approach with a case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation with six clients and one counselor. The results indicate that participatory communication plays a crucial role in building an equal, empathetic, and inclusive counseling relationship. Clients feel more valued, heard, and encouraged to be active in the recovery process. However, challenges remain, such as differences in socio-cultural backgrounds and client passivity. In conclusion, participatory communication supports the effectiveness of MI in increasing client motivation and engagement, and is an important strategy in creating a more humane and sustainable rehabilitation process.

The government has made several efforts to reduce poverty, one of which is the provision of Direct Cash Transfer (BLT), which is expected to increase purchasing power and have an impact on increasing family welfare. The purpose of this study was to analyse the effect of religiosity, financial vulnerability and financial behaviour on family welfare in families receiving Direct Cash Transfer (DCT). This study adopted a quantitative approach using a convenience sampling technique with a total of 130 BLT recipient families as respondents. The study was conducted in Purwakarta Regency. The results showed that religiosity was in the high category, financial vulnerability was in the medium category, financial behaviour of BLT recipient families was in the low category, and family welfare was in the medium category. The results showed that family welfare is directly influenced by financial behaviour and financial vulnerability. Meanwhile, religiosity affects family welfare through financial behaviour. The results of this study show the importance of good financial behaviour for BLT recipients to improve family welfare and not depend on government assistance.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the low level of Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB), despite a relatively high level of employee engagement, as indicated by employees' responsibility for their work and efforts to seek innovative ideas. The study also aims to examine whether employee engagement can serve as a predictor of Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) among employees in a service company. A quantitative approach was used, employing a survey research design involving 32 randomly selected employees. Data collection was conducted using a modified work engagement scale and an OCB scale. The statistical analysis results indicate that employee engagement does not have a significant simultaneous effect on OCB (p=0.059; R²=23%). Partial tests also show that the dimensions of cognitive engagement, emotional engagement, and behavioral engagement are not significantly related to OCB. In conclusion, employee engagement is not a significant predictor of OCB. The study's findings suggest that employee engagement does not have a simultaneous effect on OCB.

Abstract

Kinship or family systems include marriage and descent relationships, where a person is considered a relative if they are related by blood, such as siblings. Kinship systems shape the social structure of society and depend heavily on it. This research aims to understand and analyze the function of the kinship system in shaping and influencing the social and cultural structure of Indonesian society. The study will also identify the problems faced and provide suggestions for the development and reconstruction of the kinship system to ensure fair justice. This research uses library research with a sociological approach. This study concluded that the kinship system plays an important role in the formation and influence of social and cultural dynamics among Indonesian Islamic societies. This study shows that kinship systems, especially those based on Islamic values, strengthen family relationships and preserve cultural values passed down from generation to generation. Nonetheless, the study also found challenges in adjusting traditional values to social change and modernity. It is hoped that sustainable solutions can be found to maintain a balance between Islamic traditions and the needs of modern Indonesian society by understanding the role and complexity of these kinship systems.

Abstract

The Manganan tradition in Tuban is a cultural practice passed down through generations, undergoing transformations due to the influence of Islamization. Initially, this tradition served as an expression of gratitude to ancestors for agricultural harvests. However, with the introduction of Islamic teachings, a transformation occurred, strengthening Islamic values within the practice. One of the most significant changes is the integration of Tabligh Akbar into the Manganan ceremony. This study employs a qualitative approach with phenomenological methods to understand the religious and cultural dynamics from a syncretic perspective. The findings reveal that Tabligh Akbar plays a role in Islamizing the Manganan ritual without entirely eliminating local cultural elements. This process reflects a pattern of syncretism, where the community maintains traditional values while adapting religious teachings. Despite shifts in ritual practices, this tradition remains upheld as a form of solidarity, mutual cooperation, and respect for religious values. Thus, the Manganan tradition combined with Tabligh Akbar serves as an example of how religion and culture can interact harmoniously in a dynamic unity. The Manganan tradition in Tuban is a cultural practice passed down through generations, undergoing transformations due to the influence of Islamization. Abstract

This article examines the integration of Islamic parenting values with the principles of Stoic philosophy, particularly within the framework of developing strong, religious, and rational character in children. Islam, through the concept of hadhanah, emphasizes the importance of parents' role in caring for and educating children by balancing physical, emotional, spiritual, social, and intellectual aspects. On the other hand, Stoicism emphasizes the principles of self-control, wisdom, courage, and justice as moral foundations for facing life. This research uses a qualitative approach based on literature, reviewing various Islamic and Stoic philosophical literature, and analyzing relevant verses from the Quran. The results show that these two value systems have strong convergence in aspects of character education, instilling virtue, and developing emotional resilience in children. Islam emphasizes the importance of role models, advice, habituation, and supervision in educating children, while Stoicism strengthens the mental aspect through emotional control and a focus on controllable matters. The integration of the two offers a parenting approach that is relevant to the challenges of the times, both in the ever-changing digital and social contexts.
