Abstract

The aims of this research is to describe the love phenomenon of lesbians in the Kudus Regency. The subjects were three lesbian individuals living in Kudus. The research method was phenomenology which based on the subjective experience or phenomenological experience. The data collecting techniques were observation and interview. This study applied snowball sampling technique, meaning that the sample was carried out serially by asking information from previously interviewed subject. The data analysis method was matrix by Miles & Hubberman consisting of three stages of simultanious activities, they were: data reduction, data presentation and conclusion or verification. The result shows that two lesbians have experienced  lesbian love previously but one subject has experienced lesbian love for the first time. There are intimacy, passion and commitment in lesbian love. There is conflict in their relationship but there is also hope for their future lesbian love relationship.

Abstract

This qualitative study aims to explore how the happiness reconstruction of the people living with HIV/AIDS. Data was collected by in-depth interview and narrative types observation into the three subject of this. People living with HIV/AIDS experienced a big life changes, including changes in health status, changes in emotional and their social. Given the complexity of this disease and its widespread effects on individuals’ lives, it might lead to significant psychological distress. When life is difficult, finding a way to be happy may be agreat challenge. That search for happiness may well involve rewriting goals and revisiting priorities. Findings indicated that to reconstruct their happiness, people living with HIV/AIDS experienced several things such as positive interpretation of their conditions and their lives; turning point; self-acceptance, also remeaning of the illness and happiness. Result showed that two of three subjects did the happiness reconstruction, nevertheless the other one did not do the happiness reconstruction because of the existence of negative interpretation of her illness and life. By happiness reconstruction they passed through, they feel happy with their lives, with their activity to be a caregiver and an activist. They have a high level of positive affect and a low level of negative affect. Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between loneliness and selfie-liking. The hypothesis of this research is that there is a positive relationship between loneliness and selfie-liking among college students. This research used correlational quantitative methods. Participants in this research was 64 students, which was taken by purposive sampling technique, with inclusive criteria: like to do selfie and in the last month post the selfie photos to social media as much as 4-6 times. Data were collected using the Loneliness Scale from UCLA Version 3 and selfie-liking measured by Selfie-Liking Scale.  The correlation was analyzed using the Spearman Correlation Test with SPSS 23 for Windows. The results showed there was a positive and significant relationship between loneliness and self-liking (r=.297; p=.009) which means the higher loneliness, the higher selfie-liking.

Abstract

Personal variables are often assumed to affect trust. In Indonesia, there are three personal variables that affect trust: benevolence, competence, and integrity. This study aims to examine the influence of these three variables on friendship relationships. The respondents of this study consists of 220 students of Universitas Gadjah Mada (44.1% male and 55.9% female). Data were collected using the Trust Scale (α = .74), the Benevolence Scale (α = .85), the Competence Scale (α = .80), and the Integrity Scale (α = .78). Regression analysis revealed that competence has no significant influence towards trust, and the role of benevolence is greater than integrity. Based on these findings we constructed regression models with benevolence as the main variable and integrity as an additional variable. As a single factor, the contribution of benevolence is 21.4%. The addition of integrity in the regression model finds that the contribution of both variables together is 29.2%.

Abstract

This research was experimental research aimed at knowing the effect of smiling, greeting, and addressing of cashier toward the satisfaction of supermarket’s customers. This research used posttest only control group design. The subject were 62 customers of supermarket X.4. They were randomly divided into two groups, experiment group and control group. The Mann-Whitney U Test was used to analyze the costumer statisfaction. The result show there is significant difference between experimental group and control group after receive service with smiling, greeting and addressing from cashier. The research result show that smiling, greeting and addressing of cashier influences the satisfaction of supermarket’s customers effectively.

Abstract

Abuse of Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic and Addictive Substance (NAPZA) can be caused by anxiety which is not normally owned by individuals. One type of anxiety is the future anxiety. Methods of handling future anxiety in this research are Rational emotive behavioral therapy (REBT). REBT is given by provide material about future anxiety, understand and change the irrational beliefs. The current study aims to determine the effect of REBT in reducing future anxiety of drug abuse in rehab. Research subject are drugs abuser who is undergoing drug rehabilitation program in Nursing Home Pamardi Putra Mandiri and has future anxiety score in the high category (minimum score 89). The design of the study is the single case of ABA design. The gathering of data was performed by using Facing the Future Anxiety Scale, interviews, and home tasks. The results of hypothesis testing that were done by visual analysis graphs of future anxiety and qualitative analysis showed that REBT programs had the effect to reduce future anxiety. The pattern of change varied between one subject with another subject. The results of follow-up showed that the results, which were obtained by the subject were affected by the commitment and consistency in applying the materials provided on the subject.Keywords : future anxiety, drugs abuse, anxiety

Abstract

Studi ini membahas perkembangan kepribadian tokoh utama sebagaimana dipengaruhi olehpara tokoh pendamping dalam novel karangan J.R.R. Tolkien berjudul The Lord of the Rings:The Fellowship of the Ring. Kedua tokoh pendamping tersebut yaitu Gandalf dan Aragornmemiliki kualitas tertentu yang mempengaruhi perkembangan kepribadian sang tokoh utamayaitu Frodo Baggins. Sangatlah menarik untuk membahas pengaruh orang lain padaperkembangan kepribadian seseorang karena kebanyakan orang tidak dapat hidup dalamkesendirian. Setiap individu memiliki kepribadiannya masing-masing, namun pengaruh positifyang didapatkan dari orang lain dapat membawa mereka ke arah perkembangan.Studi ini memiliki dua tujuan. Tujuan pertama untuk menganalisis pelukisan watak Gandalf,Aragorn, dan Frodo Baggins. Tujuan kedua untuk menemukan pengaruh Gandalf dan Aragornpada perkembangan kepribadian Frodo Baggins.Teori psikologi digunakan untuk memberikan penjelasan tentang kepribadian, pengaruh, daninteraksi. Selain itu, juga diterapkan untuk menjawab rumusan masalah kedua. Selanjutnya,pendekatan psikologi digunakan dalam studi ini karena kepribadian merupakan salah satu aspekpsikologi seseorang.Pada awalnya, dari analisis tersebut dapat terlihat bahwa sang tokoh utama yaitu FrodoBaggins memiliki kepribadian yang penakut dan bergantung pada orang lain. Akhirnya,kepribadiannya berkembang setelah dia menerima pengaruh dari para tokoh pendamping yaituGandalf dan Aragorn. Perkembangan kepribadiannya dapat terlihat di akhir cerita, yaitu diamenunjukkan pengendalian diri, tanggung-jawab, dan sikap kepemimpinan. Ketiga hal tersebutmembekalinya untuk menghadapi dan menuntaskan tanggung-jawabnya.

Abstract

Academically, the bencmark of successful person is learning achievement which is involved by internal and external factor. One of the external factor that involved students learning achievement is authoritative parenting practices. It is kind of parenting authoritative done by parents in achieving certain purposes, including learning achievement. Including parents in the students instructional process can create a good atmosphere such acceptance or warmness, supervision, and psychological autonomy granting. The sampling technique used was multistage cluster and stratified random sampling. The participants was 334 students (145 males and 189 females). The instrument of this research is adapted from Authoritative Parenting Practices Scale which consists of 26 items, and learning achievement by using the mean of students’ record. The result of data analysis by using Pearson correlation technique showed that was the positive and significant correlation between authoritative parenting practices and students learning achievement in Banda Aceh (r= .309; p< .001). It indicates that the higher authoritative parenting practicesaccepted by the students, the learning achievement increase or vive versa. It can be concluded that parents have the important role in achieving students learning achivement.

Abstract

Perkembangan kognitif merupakan aspek yang sangat penting dalam tumbuh kembang seorang anak. Siswa dengan kesulitan belajar memiliki hambatan dalam menyelesaikan tugas-tugas yang terkait dengan belajar. Adapun teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah purposive sampling. Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas 1-6 SD sebanyak 24 orang, yang menunjukkan beberapa karakteristik siswa dengan kesulitan belajar dari hasil skrining. Selanjutnya tes WISC disajikan ke pada siswa secara individual. Profil inteligensi siswa dengan kesulitan belajar menunjukkan 46% mengalami kesulitan belajar spesifik dan 54% adalah lambat belajar (IQ= 71-84). Pada siswa dengan kesulitan belajar spesifik menunjukkan skor IQ performansi yang relatif di atas skor IQ verbal. Dibutuhkan strategi pembelajaran sesuai dengan kapasitas inteligensi yang dimiliki anak sehingga siswa akan lebih termotivasi untuk mencapai keberhasilan.Kata kunci: kesulitan belajar, IQ, IQ verbal, IQ performansi
