Abstract

This study aimed to measure the effect of red onion extract (Allium cepa) and green bean sprouts (Vigna radiata) on the growth of kebiul plants through cuttings with a comparison of synthetic growth regulators (Rootone-F) and control (without treatment). The research method used RAL (4 treatments, 12 replications) with an observation time of 6 weeks (12 observations) and measurements were made in the afternoon. Observation parameters were the number of seedlings growing, the number of shoots, time of shoot growth, shoot growth rate and the number of leaves. The results showed that the treatment with onion extract and mung bean sprouts better responded to the number of seedlings grown, number of shoots, shoot growth time, shoot growth rate and number of leaves compared to Rootone-F treatment and control. In conclusion, the administration of onion extract and mung bean sprouts could accelerate the growth of kebiul cuttings. Keywords: Shallots, Kebiul, Cuttings, Green Bean Sprouts

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the effect of the stem extract of the yellow root plant (Arcangelisia flava Merr.) from Enggano Island on the introduction and locomotor activity of male and female mice (Mus musculus L.). The method used is an experiment with a completely randomized design. The treatment variations were extracted at a dose of 150 mg/kgBW, 200 mg/kgBW and 250 mg/kgBW, Neo Hormoviton capsules at a 200 mg/kgBW dose as a positive control, and without extract or strong drug as a negative control. The results showed that the administration of the extract caused an increase in the introduction activity, but the activity decreased with the increase in the dose of the given extract. Meanwhile, an increase in locomotor activity occurred at a dose of 250 mg/kgBW, while the doses of 150 mg/kgBW and 200 mg/kgBW tended to cause a decrease. Duncan's further test showed that a dose of 250 mg/kgBW increased locomotor activity which was more significant in female mice but not significantly in male mice. In conclusion, the extract at a dose of 250 mg/kgBW can increase locomotor activity, higher than Neo Hormoviton capsules at 200 mg/kgBW in both male and female mice. Abstract

This study aims to inventory the types of plants used as food and resting place by Macaca fascicularis in the mixed garden area of ​​Chief Curup Village, Rejang Lebong Regency, Bengkulu. The method used is the Continuous-time recording method and focal animal sampling which is focused on four target individuals in the observed group. The results showed that the plants used by M. fascicularis as a food source were Arenga pinnata, Schizostachyum brachycladum, Capsicum frutescens, Durio zibethinus, Archidendron pauciflorum, Terminalia catappa, Garcinia mangostana, Musa paradisiaca, Parkia speciosa, ferns from the order Cyatheales and Hibiscus tiliaceus. While the plants used as resting places were Durio zibethinus, Terminalia catappa and Schizostachyum brachycladum. In conclusion, there are 11 types of plants that are used as food sources by M. fascicularis (fruit, flowers, leaves, petioles), and 6 of them are community cultivated plants. In addition, there are two types of plants that are used as a place to rest during the day and one type of plant as a place to sleep at night. Abstract

This study aims to explain the characteristics and determine the validity and reliability of ecological literacy instruments to measure high school student's readiness for environmentally friendly behavior. The method used is development research. The trial sample consisted of eight high schools with adiwiyata status in Karasidenan Surakarta. The sampling technique used proportionate random sampling with a total sample of 440 students. Collecting data using open-ended interview techniques through focus group discussions and questionnaire trials. The results showed that the reliability and validity of the ecological literacy instrument were declared reliable and valid with Cronbach's alpha value of 0.714 in the knowledge aspect and 0.811 in the concern aspect. In conclusion, the ecological literacy instrument developed has the characteristics of an ecological concept that is universal and can be used to measure readiness for environmentally friendly behavior from the aspect of knowledge and concern for the environment. Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the readiness of Biology Education Students at STKIP-PGRI Lubuklilnggau to become teachers based on Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK). The method used is the descriptive method. The research subjects were 23 Biology Education Students at STKIP-PGRI Lubuklinggau in the 7th semester of the 2021/2022 academic year. Data Content Knowledge (CK), Pedagogical Knowledge (PK), and Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK) were collected using a questionnaire, while data on students' abilities in making lesson plans and teaching abilities were collected through assessment sheets that STKIP-PGRI Lubuklinggau had prepared. The study results obtained that CK, PK, PCK, the ability to make lesson plans and the ability to teach students were categorized as good. In conclusion, the Biology Education Student of STKIP-PGRI Lubuklinggau is ready to become a teacher. Keywords: Evaluation, Teachers, Students, Pedagogical Content

Abstract

This study aims to determine the inhibition of T. cacao L. leaf extract on the growth of E. coli bacteria and the correlation between the concentration of T. cacao L. leaf extract and the formed E. coli inhibition zone. The method used is experimental post-test only control design using Completely Randomized Design (CRD). The inhibition zone of T. cacao L. leaves against E. coli was tested using the disc diffusion method with six treatments (concentration 25%, 50%, 75%, 100%, positive control and negative control) repeated five times. The results showed that the diameter of the inhibition zone of the leaf extract of T. cacao L. against E.coli was at intervals of 5-10 mm and was included in the category of moderate inhibition, but the results of Duncan's test showed that there was no significant difference between the inhibition zones formed at concentrations 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%. In conclusion, the leaves of T. cacao L. were less effective in inhibiting the growth of E. Coli, but the leaf extract of T. cacao L. was positively correlated with the inhibition zone formed. Abstract

This study aims to examine the biological aspects of Sepongkah Fish (Ambassis nalua) in the Bilah River and determine the condition of the population. The method used in this research is purposive sampling. Fish samples were taken using a splint net. The fish caught were measured for their total length with a ruler and weighed with a digital scale. The results showed that the size classes of small, medium and large fish were 93, 30 and 2 individuals, respectively, with a length-weight relationship obtained, namely b = 0.2577 and R² = 0.9643. The sex ratio of male and female fish found was 2:1. In conclusion, the biological aspects of Sepongkah Fish in the Lower Bilah River still show a fairly good condition. Abstract

This study aims to determine the biodiversity of fish caught in the estuary waters of Sungai Bilah. The method used is explorative with determining the point of observation using purposive sampling. Fish samples were caught using splint nets. The results showed that Ambassidae and Cyprinidae dominated the relative frequency at the family level. The composition of fish species caught with the highest number was Seluang fish (109 individuals) and Sepongkah fish (107 individuals). The fish diversity index at stations 1, 2, 3 was categorized as medium and the uniformity index value was high at station 1, while at stations 2 and 3, it was classified as moderate. The dominance index values at stations 1, 2, 3 indicate that no species dominates. In conclusion, fish biodiversity in the estuary waters of Sungai Bilah is still quite good. Abstract

This study aims to describe developing a textbook for the Pengembangan Bahan Ajar subject and produce a valid textbook. The method used is development research using a 4D model (define, design, develop, and disseminate) with instruments in the form of a validity questionnaire in terms of the feasibility of content, language, graphics and presentation. The resulting product is a textbook. The results showed that the developed textbooks scored 84% with a valid category. In conclusion, the developed textbooks are valid and suitable to be used as a guide for students in Pengembangan Bahan Ajar subject. Abstract

This study aims to determine the characteristics of eco-enzyme products from fruit peel waste. The method used is an experiment with a qualitative approach. The results showed that the eco enzyme product produced had a fresh sour aroma, brown with different levels of color density, ranging from light brown, yellowish-brown, to dark brown. The volume of eco enzyme products after the fermentation process for three months showed that in variables 1 and 3 the volume increased to 133%, while in variable 3 there was a reduction in product volume to 86%. The highest pH level is in variable 4 (2.8). In conclusion, the combination of fruit peel waste used as raw material for making eco enzymes affects the color, aroma, water content and pH of the resulting eco-enzymes.
