Abstract

This study aims to analyze the knowledge and perceptions of the community in the Curug Embun Waterfall area about the use of bamboo as a medicinal plant for the development of medicinal plant programs. The method used is descriptive qualitative through four stages: collecting secondary data in the form of literature studies, field observations, interviews with respondents, taking medicinal plant data, processing and analyzing all data obtained in the previous stage. The results showed that the leaves, stems and roots of bamboo apus or pring tali (Gigantochloa apus), black bamboo or pring wulung (Gigantochloa atroviolacea), bamboo ater or pring ater (Gigantchloa atter), bamboo andong or pring lorek (Gigantochloa pseudoarundinacea), bamboo aor or pring ampel ijo (Bambusa vulgaris), bamboo china or pring fishing (Bambusa multiplex), bamboo betung or pring betung (Dendrocalamus asper), bamboo tamiang or pring flute (Schizostachyum blumei) are used by the community as medicine by boiling and cooking on the frequency of use. As for how to use it to treat various diseases, namely boiling and cooking with the highest frequency of use, namely the apus bamboo species or pring tali (Gigantochloa apus) and Chinese bamboo or fishing rods (Bambusa multiplex) which is 15 with a percentage of 93.75. In conclusion, public knowledge of the types and benefits of bamboo plants as medicinal plants is relatively high. A total of 8 species of bamboo plants have been identified from 4 genera that the public has recognized as medicinal plants. Respondents' perceptions of medicinal plants have a positive effect namely, they consider medicinal plants to be safe for consumption, have no side effects, are cheap, practical, are found in the surrounding environment and feel beneficial for the body. Abstract

This study aims to examine the characteristics and environmental factors of turtles' preferences in making their natural nests. The method used is the descriptive quantitative method. The results showed that there were two types of turtles found during the observation, namely the green turtle (Chelonia mydas) and the hawksbill turtle (Eretmochelys imbricata). Measurements and observations of the characteristics of the 14 nesting points showed that the diameter and depth of the green turtle's nest were larger than those of the hawksbill turtle. Both types of turtles have a preference for nesting areas on sloping beaches with temperatures of 28-30ÂșC and humidity of 76-89%, as well as being around vegetation in the form of sea pine (Casuarina equisetifolia), sea oyster (Gynura sp), sea pandanus (Pandanus odorifer), sea kangkung (Ipomea peltate) and sea hibiscus (Thespesia populnea). In conclusion, temperature, humidity and types of vegetation around the nest determine the turtle's preference in making natural nests for laying eggs. Abstract

This study aims to produce a 3D image representation of leaf epidermis tissue in several Apocynaceae plants as enrichment material for high school biology material. The method used is a descriptive method by observing the leaf epidermis tissue in several Apocynaceae plants, namely: Adenium obesum, Catharanthus roseus, Cerbera manghas, Nerium oleander, Plumeria alba and Wrightia antidysenterica. The representation of 3D images is done using Paint-3D software and arranged in the form of a booklet. The results showed that the representation of the structure of the epidermis and stomata in the form of 3D images displayed varying characteristics. The results of the feasibility test show that the booklet has an average score of 93 and is included in the very valid category. In conclusion, the 3D image representation of the epidermal tissue with Paint-3D software can display the characteristics of the tissue structure more clearly and the booklets that are arranged are suitable for use as teaching materials. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the water quality of the Barumun river in Pinang City based on water quality criteria and formulate a pollution control strategy that needs to be implemented. The method used is descriptive and quantitative by analyzing river water quality status based on the pollution index. The results showed that the PI value of Barumun river water ranged from 0.82 to 1.71. The recommended pollution control strategies are: 1) maintaining river border protection zones involving environmental cadres and green communities in monitoring; 2) supervision and control of water pollution along the river; 3) improving monitoring of river water quality and supervision of wastewater discharge into rivers; 4) the granting of a wastewater disposal permit (IPLC) to the river must pay attention to the condition of the capacity of the river's pollution load capacity and enforce environmental laws against business actors who violate the established environmental quality standards. In conclusion, the Barumun River in Kota Pinang has decreased in quality, with the status of water quality being lightly polluted. The recommendations for water pollution control strategies that need to be implemented are progressive strategies. Keywords: Water Quality, Water Pollution Control, Water Quality Status
