Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the application of lectures in the pattern of six task models (routine tasks, critical journal analysis, textbook critical analysis, idea engineering, mini research, and projects) on students' high-order thinking in microbiology lectures. This research was conducted by using exprient method. The research population is 7 classes with a total of 280 students. The sample is determined by cluster random sampling, the class of Dik A uses six task patterns in the contextual learning order as much as 36 people and the class of Dik C with the pattern of six tasks in the direct learning order as many as 35 people. Data were obtained by using pretest and postes in the form of an essay test. The analysis technique used t test at 5% significance level. The result of the research is found that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted t calculated = 7.758 (p = 0.000), it means that pattern of six task model in contextual learning order is more effective used to influence student's high thinking skill in microbiology lecture at Biology Education Program FMIPA of Universitas Negeri Medan.

Abstract

Outdoor learning was learning that gives students the opportunity to explore the surrounding environment  as a source of learning. Students are required to be able to construct knowledge independently throgh the process of  exploring the learning environment in Systematics of High Plant. This research aims to improve student cognitive learning outcomes through the implementation of outdoor learning in the subject of High Plant Systematics. The method used was classroom action research with 3 cycles. Each cycle consists of four basic stages, namely planning, implementation, observation and reflection. Samples used in this study was 22  fourth semester students of Biology Education Study Program, Faculty of Teaching and Education, University of Veteran Bangun Nusantara Sukoharjo .The study was conducted in March and May 2015. The cognitive learning was measured through the posttest. The results showed that the cognitive learning outcomes of students increased from the first cycle to the second cycle amounted to 27.56% and from the second cycle to the third cycle of 10.20%. Target of cognitive learning outcomes at least achieved grade of 75 in average.

Abstract

This research aimed to identify a model of biotechnology teaching used by Senior Highschools, to develop a model of entrepreneurship-based biotechnology teach­ing and to identify the effect of the model on students learning achievement, entrepre­neurship attitude. The design of research involved using research and development (R&D) paradigm, consisted of 3 major steps, namely conducting an introductory research focussing on need analysis, developing a model of entrepreneurship-based biotechnology teaching, and then finally evaluating the efficiency of model. The findings showed that models of biotechnology teaching at Demak Senior Highschools did not yet satisfy the principles of School Competency-based Curriculum (KTSP). A model of entrepreneur­ship teaching was then necessary to develop, including its silabus & lesson plan, learning resources, student worksheets. The effect of the model upon students learning was signif­icantly high. There was significants difference in cognitive as well as psychomotoric learning achievement between control and treatment groups. The effect of the model upon students attitude towards entrepreneurship was significantly high. There was significant difference of attitude between control and treatment groups. The average attitude of treatment group was 90. The effect of the model on students process of learning (learning activities) was also significant significant, their average activity was 86,5 (very high), the average of teachers activities was significant (88,30), and classroom-based learning as­sessments results was 82,8 (high). Majority of students (95%) felt happy with the model of teaching, because it improved their attitude toward entrepreneurship was also im­proved. Student felt as if they were entrepreneur.

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to find out the contribution of the teacher's competence and Students' emotional iquotient toward the achievement on biolog of the student of SMU Negeri 2 Sukoharjo in theacademic year of 2004/2005.The study carried out by descriptive quantilative method. 'the population of the study was all students of the second grade in SMA Negeri 2 Sukoharjo, in the academic year of 2004/2005. The sampling technique used in the sludy was random sampling. The techniques usedfor collecling data were questionaire and documentation technique. The data were then analized by regression analysis.Considering upon the results, the research concluded that there were significant contribution of the: (I) Teachers' competence to biological learning achievment (r,ry : 0,450 at the level of significance S%o); (2) Sludenls'emotional quotient to biological learning achievement (re, = 0,410.at the level of significance 5%o); (3) Teachers' competence and students' emotional quotient (R = 0, 5373 at the level of significance 5%o).Teachers' compelence gives a dominant contribution on biological learning achievment at 56, 4g%o. Teachers' compelence and students'emotional intelligence give effective contributions on biological learning achievment.at 28.8%.

Abstract

The aims of this study are to find out: (1) the effect of influence between Search Solve Created and Share learning model and the Problem Based Instruction to the achievement of biology, and (2) the influence between the high creativity students and the low creativity students to the achievement of biology. This research was conducted during May-June 2006, using experimental method by taking two groups randomly. The        population of the research is all students in grade X in SMA Negeri 1 Karanganyar 2005/2006. The sample is six classes taken randomly by lottery, the control classes are X1, X4 dan X6, and the experimental classes are X2, X3 and X5. The technique of      collection data is using test, documentation, questionaire and observation. The data is   analyzed using Anava technique. From the analysis it can be concluded that: (1) there was any influence Search Solve Created and Share learning model and the Problem Based   Instruction learning model to the achievement of biology, (2) there was any influence   between the high students' creativity and the low students' creativity to the achievement of biology.

Abstract

ABSTRAK-Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mengetahui prosedur pengembangan sekaligus menghasilkan produk modul elektronik berbasis POEI pada materi sistem indera di kelas XI SMA N 3 Ponorogo; (2) mengetahui kelayakan modul elektronik berbasis POEI pada materi sistem indera di kelas XI SMA N 3 Ponorogo; (3) mengetahui efektivitas keterterapan modul elektronik berbasis POEI pada materi sistem indera dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif siswa kelas XI SMA N 3 Ponorogo. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan mengacu kepada rancangan penelitian pengembangan modifikasi dari model pengembangan 4D dari Thiagarajan. Prosedur yang dimaksud meliputi 4 tahap yaitu, (1) pendefinisian (define), (2) perancangan (design), (3) pengembangan (develop), (4) penyebaran (disseminate) tahap uji coba dan revisi produk. Uji coba dilaksanakan dalam 4 tahap, yaitu tahap pertama review dengan ahli modul dan media pembelajaran, ahli perangkat pembelajaran, serta ahli isi/ materi; tahap kedua dilakukan dengan uji coba praktisi, tahap ketiga uji coba produk kelompok kecil terhadap 15 siswa, tahap terakhir dengan uji coba lapangan dalam setting eksperimen terhadap 31 siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: 1) pengembangan modul elektronik berbasis POEI telah dilaksanakan melalui prosedur pengembangan yang meliputi 4 tahap utama. 2) perolehan rata-rata penilaian hampir semua tahapan yaitu pada uji coba ahli total rata-rata keseluruhan adalah 3,70 dalam skala empat, nilai tersebut termasuk kategori “sangat baik”. Pada uji coba oleh praktisi total rata-rata keseluruhan adalah 3,50 dalam tabel skala empat, nilai tersebut termasuk “sangat baik”. Pada uji coba skala kecil total rata-rata keseluruhan adalah kategori 3,57 dalam tabel skala empat, nilai tersebut termasuk kategori “sangat baik”. 3) Efektifitas produk dapat dilihat melalui skor rata-rata posttest kelompok yang menggunakan modul elektronik berbasis adalah 81,40 dan skor rata-rata posttest kelompok yang tanpa menggunakan modul elektronik adalah 73,0. Hasil uji t hitung antar kelas menunjukkan nilai signifikansi 0,02, lebih kecil dari 0,05 (0,02<0,05) yang berarti antar kedua kelas mempunyai perbedaan yang signifikan. Kedua kelompok yaitu kelas yang menggunakan modul elektronik berbasis POEI dan kelas tanpa menggunakan modul elektronik memiliki prestasi belajar yang tidak sama. Hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan modul elektronik berbasis POEI terbukti efektif terhadap hasil belajar kognitif siswa dan dikategorikan sangat baik sehingga layak digunakan dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar mata pelajaran Biologi materi Sistem Indera.

Abstract

Sebuah penelitian eksperimen semu, telah dilakukan di Kota Samarinda, pada siswa kelas XI Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam, Sekolah Menengah Atas. Penelitian menerapkan empat  model pembelajaran (Cooperative Script, Think-Pair-Share, Gabungan Cooperative Script+Think-Pair-Share, dan konvensional), dan empat  etnis siswa (Jawa, Bugis, Banjar, dan Kutai). Fokus penelitian untuk mengetahui model pembelajaran yang berpotensi paling tinggi memberdayakan hasil belajar kognitif biologi dan dapat diterapkan untuk seluruh etnis siswa. Penelitian dilaksanakan selama semester ganjil tahun pembelajaran 2012/2013, dengan mengambil enam  kelas yang homogen berdasarkan etnis dan nilai ujian nasional Sekolah Menengah Pertama siswa. Pengambilan sampel secara purposive sampling. Jumlah sampel yang diambil adalah 132 orang siswa. Instrumen penelitian adalah angket dan soal tes. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis teknik analisis deskriptif dan  Analisis Kovarian pada taraf signifikansi 5% (p˂0,05). Hasil analisis deskriptif terhadap etnis siswa, menunjukkan bahwa: 77,7% terdiri atas etnis: Jawa, Banjar, Bugis, dan Kutai; dan 22,3% terdiri atas etnis lainnya. Hasil analisis kovarian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran terhadap hasil belajar kognitif biologi siswa. Selanjutnya, hasil uji lanjut Least Significant Difference menunjukkan bahwa gabungan model pembelajaran Cooperative Script+Think-Pair-Share berpotensi paling tinggi dalam memberdayakan hasil belajar kognitif biologi dan dapat diterapkan untuk seluruh etnis siswa. Rata-rata dari rata-rata terkoreksi untuk interkasi gabungan model pembelajaran Cooperatif Script+Think-Pair-Share dengan seluruh etnis  siswa paling tinggi (81.75), lebih tinggi 0,57 kali dari interaksi pembelajaran konvensional dengan seluruh etnis siswa yaitu sebesar 52,21 (paling rendah). Penelitian sejenis di masa mendatang perlu dilakukan, untuk mendapatkan informasi lebih.Kata Kunci: Gabungan model pembelajaran, hasil belajar kognitif, etnis, biologi

Abstract

Surakarta memiliki luas wilayah 44 km2, terletak di dataran rendah dengan ketinggian 105 m dpl dan di pusat kota 95 m dpl dan memiliki iklim muson tropis. Tidak semua wilayah Surakarta ditempati penduduk. Ruang terbuka di Surakarta  ditumbuhi berbagai jenis tumbuhan dengan berbagai bentuk kehidupan (life form). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui berbagai tipe life form penyusun vegetasi dan mengetahui tipe life form yang paling melimpah dan dominan di Kotamadya Surakarta. Sampling dilakukan pada 1% luas free area (area terbuka hijau) di setiap kecamatan. Ukuran Plot yang digunakan adalah (10x10) m kemudian pada plot tersebut dilakukan pengamatan untuk diidentifikasi jenis tumbuhan yang ada dan ditentukan tipe bentuk kehidupan (life form) dari setiap tumbuhan yang ditemukan. Cover dari setiap bentuk kehidupan (life form) diukur dengan skala Braun-Blanquet kemudian dibandingkan dengan bentuk kehidupan (life form) standar Raunkiaer. Berdasarkan penelitian diketahui bahwa bentuk kehidupan (life form) yang paling mendominasi vegetasi di Surakarta adalah Phanerophyte dengan persentase cover tertinggi (104%). Dengan membandingkan bentuk kehidupan (life form) standar Raunkiaer diketahui Cryptophyte memiliki persentase di bawah persentase Cryptophyte bentuk kehidupan (life form) standar Raunchier.

Abstract

Reservoir is a water puddle created by humans by damming up the river and the water is stored with multiple destinations, such as for drinking, such as for drinking water, hydropower, flood control and many more. In addition there are fish and aquatic plants, in the reservoir also found other microorganisms which is phytoplankton that are mostly a member of the division Chlorophyta (green algae). Chlorophyta are the largest group of vegetation algae, this algae has a green clear color as in higher plants because it contains the pigment chlorophyll a and chlorophyll b more dominant. Species of the division Chlorophyta found in several posts in the Sumber Air Jaya reservoir are Spirogyra sp., Ulothrix sp., and Closterium sp. with different characteristics of each species.

Abstract

The process of teaching and learning cannot be separated from the efforts to increase the quality of human resources. A good learning process is determined by a good planning which is also pays attention to the environment of the students. After that, the process of learning, evaluation, and observation can be done well. In other words, if those sequences of planning and teaching are implemented well, the process of learning can be said as successful and it acquires the standards. One part of planning is to prepare the learning process kit. This research is aimed to measure the indicator achievement of high order thinking skill and student’s cognitive study results through cooperative learning based on inquiry using the kit that has been developed. The result of the research using the developed kit through the learning process of XI IPA 1 student’s high order thinking skill indicates two categories of variation, that are good category by 24 students and 2 students are categorised as good enough in thinking skill. This means that on the whole, the high level of students’ thinking skill achieves good result. While students’ cognitive study result during the process of learning has achieved the standard score of minimum score criterion.
