Abstract

Educational design research aims to 1) determine the critical thinking skills of gredeX MIPA MAN Kapuas’ students, 2) explain the improvement of critical thinking skills.The research used Tessmer's formative evaluation design with following steps 1) expert review, 2) one-to-one evaluation, 3) small group evaluation and 4) field test evaluation as the focus of the research.The research was conducted for five months (February-June 2018) at MAN Kapuas Central Kalimantan Province.The research subjects of the student worksheets’ development invertebrata concept are the students of grade X MIPA 2 with 27 students in total. The research subjects in environmental changes concept are the students of grade X MIPA 1 with 30 students in total.The research subjects in ecosystem concept are the students of grade X MIPA 1 with 33 students in total.Data critical thinking skills (defining problems, making hypothesis, collecting data, analyzing data, and making conclusions) are obtained from students' ability to work on students worksheets and scored using the rubric of critical thinking skills which is the scores obtained divided by the maximum score and expressed by%.The result of the research showed that student worksheets is usede effectively based on 1) Critical thinking skills of grade X MIPA MAN Kapuas’students were classified as good category such as defining problem, making hypothesis, collecting data, analyzing data, and making conclusion, 2) There are signs of improvement in critical thinking skill, except the skill of making conclusions

Abstract

This study aims to explore (1) whether through Guided Inquiry Learning with the Experiment Method can improve learning motivation for XI grade students; (2) whether through Guided Inquiry Learning with Experiment method can improve learning achievement for XI grade students.This study follows a class action research procedure that starts from the planning process, implementation of the action, observation and ends with a process of reflection on the results of the action. The research data was collected through test techniques. The test technique is used to collect data on students' abilities.The research findings show that Guided Inquiry Learning with Experiment method can significantly increase motivation and learning achievement Biology Basic Competency Test of Food from the initial condition of low motivation to change into a highly motivated final condition. This method is also able to improve student learning achievement. This is indicated by changes in the average score in the first cycle 69.5 and 84.9 in the second cycle; the average completeness in the first cycle was 34.3% and the average completeness in the second cycle was 96%. Thus Guided Inquiry Learning with Experimentation methods can improve motivation and learning achievement Biology Basic Competence of Food Tests on Students.

Abstract

Tagetes erecta is an annual plant that is, in addition, to be used as an ornamental plant, it can also be used as an agent for phytoremediation. Glomus intraradices is one of the species of vesicular-arbuscular mycorrhizal (VAM) fungi which can be mutually symbiotic with various species of plants, including T. erecta.  This study was aimed to determine the effect of VAM fungi G. intraradices on the growth of T. erecta in growth media containing chromium. The study was carried out experimentally using a completely randomized design with treatments, namely Cr6+ concentrations of 0, 5 and 10 ppm in the form of K2CrO7, and the addition of VAM fungi G. intraradices in the growth media in the form of soil and mixture of soil: textile sludge (1: 1).  T. erecta was grown in four different growth media (soil, soil: textile sludge (1:1), soil+VAM, soil: textile sludge (1:1)+VAM) that was treated with Cr6+ and G. intraradices for 1.5 months. The growth of T. erecta was determined based on plant height, root length, root dry weight, shoot dry weight, and percentage of mycorrhizal infection. Data were analyzed with two-way Analysis of Variance (two-way ANOVA) and DMRT (Duncan's Multiple Range Test) with a test level of 5%. The results showed that the growth of T. erecta in media containing Cr6+ (5 and 10 ppm) decreased significantly compared to controls (without Cr6+ treatment).  The highest reduction of plant growth was found in media containing Cr6+ of 10 ppm. The addition of VAM fungi G. intraradices in soil media and soil: textile sludge that treated with Cr6+ was able to increase the growth of T. erecta. These results indicated that the VAM fungi G. intraradices were able to improve the ability of T. erecta to deal with chromium heavy metal stress. That results were also supported by the percentage of mycorrhizal infection in the roots of T. erecta grown in soil and soil: textile sludge (1:1) media with treatments of Cr6+ and VAM G. intraradices were higher than the control plants that was grown in soil and soil: textile sludge (1:1) media without treatments of Cr6+ and VAM G. intraradices.

Abstract

Globalization and the development of science and  technology cause human  needs increase. This has an effect on land use, especially in watershed areas. Serayu is one of watershed in Central Java which is have problems related to land use, which occurs in the upper of the watershed. Agricultural Intensification, deforestation, an increase in population are factors that drives land use changes in the upper of Serayu watershed. The utilization of  watershed areas that ignore spatial rules causes pollution and land degradation. That condition happened and this makes the Serayu watershed one of the priority watersheds for rehabilitation in Indonesia. Remote Sensing (RS) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) are tools that used to analyze land use changes that occurred in 2009-2019. Land use are classified into six classes ; water bodies (rivers, lakes, ponds), built-up areas, shrubs, forests, agriculture (rice fields, fields), and empty land.

Abstract

One of the learning  characteristic in 21st century is demanding the student  ability to think creative therefore hopefully can survive in the  global competition creativity can produce products the  innovative, original and update products. Therefore the products can be maximal useful and has better quality. This research  has purpose to analyze student creativity in content structure map concept on cell bology learning. We used the method of descriptive with the quantitative approaching that involved 32 students. The resesarch is doing on odd semester. With the subject of the semester III student research who took the cell biology subject. The instruments are : 1) paper of creativity evaluation that get from  student assignment documentation and,  2) peper of student performance when they have presentation. The result of research showed that student creativty with the averange mark 3,24 on the best category. This show that student can plan, design, and make structure map concept like identified from the student ability in deciding, identifying, designing, connecting, mixing, making idea and presenting the result of map concept that can produce creative ideas with the good creativity result product, so it can answer the problem of concept control in biology learning. The result of student performance assessment in presesnting the result of map concept shows the ability on good category. Abstract

Cryptolestes ferrugineus (Cucujidae: Laemophloeidae) is a postharvest secondary pest of rice and other food commodity products. The distribution of C. ferrugineus covers tropical or subtropical climates with high humidity. Temperature fluctuations that occur every day affect development C. ferrugineus. The development of the life phase of C. ferrugineus largely determines the amount of its population and its massive impact on the damage caused to storing material. This research was conducted to determine the effect of several levels of room temperature on the development time of C. ferrugineus. The room temperature used in this study was 20°C, 25°C, 30°C, 35°C, and 40°C and was repeated five times. The results showed that the shortest development time of the insect pest C. ferrugineus (26.75 days) occurred at a room temperature of 30°C with a humidity of 68% compared to other room temperatures. The slowest development time for C. ferrugineus occurs at 25°C (42.60 days). At room temperature 40°C eggs produced by adult female C. ferrugineus cannot develop into larvae, so the development C. ferrugineus at 40°C was cut off.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe study of the effect of environment factors on amphibians there is no it in Lombok Island. This study aimed to analyze the environment factors that most contribute to the community structure of amphibians on the island of Lombok. Survey was conducted at 10 locations/points scattered on the island of Lombok. Both data of environment factors and community structure were collected on the square of 5000 m2 at each of the locations in the period from March to July 2016. The environment factors that the analyze including air temperature, water temperature, humidity, altitude, canopy, tree species richness, tilt, river length, width of the river and left-right width of the river to crawl. Amphibian community structure consists of species richness, density, species diversity, species evenness and dominance species. Data were analyzed using principal component analysis (PCA). The results show that environment factors that effect to the factor of the community can be divided into four components, namely component 1 (high effect), component 2 (middle effect), component 3 and component 4 (lower effect). Component 1 consists of humidity, canopy and tree species richness factor. Component 2 consists of air temperature, water temperature and altitude. 3 and 4 consist of a length of the river, the river width, the width of the river and tilt left and right.Key words: environment factors, structure of amphibian community, Lombok Island

Abstract

HOTS (higher order thinking skills) adalah kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi yaitu kemampuan berpikir kompleks meliputi kemampuan analisis, pemecahan masalah, serta keterampilan berpikir kritis dan kreatif. Hasil studi pendahuluan yang dilakukan di MA Negeri 2 Banyumas menunjukkan bahwa proses pembelajaran yang dilaksanakan masih berpusat pada guru meskipun telah menggunakan model yang direkomendasikan Kurikulum 2013. Hal tersebut membuat siswa menjadi kurang aktif serta kurang terlatih dalam mengembangkan HOTS. HOTS merupakan kemampuan yang dapat dicapai melalui kegiatan menganalisis, mengevaluasi dan mencipta. Salah satu model yang dapat digunakan untuk melatih HOTS adalah problem based learning (PBL). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui 1) pengaruh model PBL terhadap HOTS siswa pada materi kingdom fungi; 2) perbedaan HOTS siswa di kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen; serta 3) model pembelajaran yang lebih baik dalam mempengaruhi HOTS siswa. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas X IPA Tahun Ajaran 2018/ 2019 yang akan menempuh materi kingdom fungi. Desain penelitian menggunakan post-test only control design. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes tertulis dalam bentuk two-tier multiple choice question (pilihan ganda bertingkat). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada pengaruh model PBL terhadap HOTS siswa pada materi kingdom fungi dengan koefisien korelasi uji eta yaitu 0,512, artinya memiliki pengaruh yang cukup. Ada perbedaan HOTS siswa di kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen berdasarkan nilai signifikansi uji t dua pihak yaitu 0,000. Model  PBL yang diterapkan di kelas eksperimen lebih baik dalam mempengaruhi HOTS siswa daripada model discovery learning (DL) yang diterapkan di kelas kontrol berdasarkan nilai signifikansi uji t satu pihak yaitu 0,000.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan komunikasi  lisan dan  tulisan  siswa  melalui penerapan model PBL. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) dengan berkolaborasi dengan guru mata pelajaran biologi melalui penerapan model PBL sebagai tindakan penelitian. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas X MIPA 3 yang terdiri dari 10 siswa laki-laki dan 26 siswa perempuan. Penelitian dilaksanakan selama 2 siklus. Setiap siklus penelitian terdiri dari tahapan perencanaan, tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Data penelitian meliputi: keterampilan komunikasi lisan dan tulisan siswa, keterlaksanaan sintaks, serta dokumentasi pada saat kegiatan belajar mengajar berlangsung. Teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan deskriptif komparatif dan alnalisis kritis. Prosedur penelitian meliputi: perencaranaan, tindakan, observasi, dan  refleksi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan dari Pra-siklus, Siklus I, dan Siklus II hasil peningkatan rata-rata keterampilan komunikasi lisan (Pra-siklus/ Siklus I/ Siklus II) sebesar (30,81%/ 54,6%/ 63,7) dan keterampilan komunikasi tulisan (29,22%/ 62,01%/ 68,06%). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa model PBL dapat meningkatkan keterampilan komunikasi lisan sebesar 32,89% dan tulisan sebesar 38,84%.
