Abstract

Pantai Sepanjang merupakan salah satu pantai di selatan Provinsi DIY tepatnya berada di Desa Kemadang, Kecamatan Tanjungsari Kabupaten Gunungkidul Yogyakarta. Pantai Sepanjang merupakan pantai berpasir putih dengan substrat pantai terutama berupa karang mati dan karang berpasir, yang sangat cocok sebagai habitat tumbuhan dan hewan laut. Salah satu tumbuhan yang mendominasi daerah pasang surut adalah makro alga. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keragaman spesies makroalga yang ada di Pantai Sepanjang beserta distribusi dan nilai pentingnya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode line transek menurut Trono (1998). Sampling makro alga dilakukan di daerah intertidal pada saat air surut yang berlangsung 1-2 jam sebelum air laut mengalami pasang kembali. Hasil penelitian di lapangan diidentifikasi di laboratorium Botani Pendidikan Biologi dengan menggunakan buku panduan makro alga menurut Trono; Tjitrosoepomo; Adi Yudianto; V.K. Dhargalkar dan Devanand Kavlekar; Emma Wells; Guillermo Diaz-Pulido dan Laurence J. McCook; W.F. Prud’homme van Reine dan G.C. Trono Jr (editor). Penghitungan Nilai Penting yang terdiri atas komponen Densitas Relatif, Dominansi Relatif dan Frekuensi Relatif menurut Trono (1998). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya 13 spesies makro alga yang terbagi dalam 3 (tiga) kelas, yaitu Clorophyceae 6 spesies, Rodophyceae 5 spesies dan 2 spesies Paeophyceae. Spesies Boergesenia forbesii dari kelas Clorophyceae memiliki distribusi yang paling merata. Sedangkan Enteromorpha flexuosa memiliki Nilai Penting (NP) tertinggi yaitu 69.84 dengan nilai Densitas Relatif (DsR) = 30.98, Dominansi Relatif (DR) = 24.92 dan Frekuensi Relatif (FR) = 13.94. Nilai penting terendah adalah Caulerpa racemosa dari kelas Clorophyceae yaitu sebesar 1.08 dengan nilai Densitas Relatif (DsR) = 0.05, Dominansi relatif (DR) = 0.21 dan Frekuensi Relatif (FR) = 0.82.

Abstract

This research was aimed to know the influence of water quality and pollution on fecundity of Lebistes reticulatus Peters. The result of this research will show how environmental factors act toward the organism on several levels of ecological hierarchy. The disscussion of it then will enrich student's understanding about the effect of environmental fastors toward the organism. That is the material to learn.This research was carried out upon Gajah Wong river precisely on water mass which polluted by tannery waste and the water mass out of polluted area. Three sampling were carried out along the trasect which cover the befor- polluted area, the outlet of waste and the water mass polluted by the waste. Embrio was then counted for measure the fecundity.The result shows that pollution affect the fecundity of Lebistes reticulatus by turning the fecundity lower. Pollution caused the change of dissolved oxygen and water acidity from its normal condition. Indeed, pollution caused the low environmental quality, even for reproduction of the more-tolerannt fish. Disscussion upon that result will enrich student’s understanding about the effect of pollution toward living thing. By carrying the student into the field during teaching and learning proccesses and practicing on ecology, the understanding will go into effectively.

Abstract

The aim of this research was loowing the student understand.ing on a digestive concept by giving astudent a mapping concept of a subject.the population of sample are the student of second grade of MAN Klaten. The collected data was then tested by Chi' Square to test the normality, then analized by T test with significance level of 0.05 to compare the two population between treated (that concept mapping was given) and untreaed..The result showed that by giving a student with mapping concept of a subject will raise theunderstanding of a subject and student achievement respectively, Those can be seen trom a t test result showing that t value was higher than t table

Abstract

Biology Learning Strategy (BLS) is an important course that constitutes the competence of biology student teachers, especially pedagogy competence. This study aims to describe the learning strategy of the biology teacher candidates, problems they encountered, and the chosen learning solution in BLS course. This explorative survey was conducted in March-April 2016. The study involved 176 participants. The participants were students of 4th semester biology student teachers who took BLS course. The data were collected by using a semi-open and open questionnaire. The analysis of the data was qualitative data analysis model of Miles and Huberman which includes data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions and verification. The study concludes that the percentage of the way the students learned BLS by understanding is 53.4%, memorizing and understanding is 36.9%, memorizing only is 5.7%, and the other is 7%. Problems experienced by the students in learning BLS include discomfort during a rowdy class, lack of ability to understand, lack of confidence to perform, lack of ability to choose a strategy or apply the materials in the practice, as well as the difficulty to memorize. The way to overcome the problems in learning BLS is quite various and it can be classified into four categories namely changing learning strategies, increasing the intensity of learning, improving motivation, and increasing the frequency of exercise.

Abstract

ABSTRACT- A study deals with critical thinking based model for Invertebrate Zoology instruction conducted in Biology Education of Teachers Training College was aimed to improve critical thinking  of the biology prospective teachers.  This study employed       research and development design. This study was intended to mainly provide the         prospective teachers with: a developed model of critical thinking based instructial       program, and its evaluation. The study resulted in a model of critical thinking-based      instructional program used for teaching Invertebrate Zoology. The proposed model has it strength in improving students’ both deductive and inductive thinking skills. In addition, this model is also effective to improve critical thinking in the teaching practice of certain subject covering structural morphology and anatomy. Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the influence of PBL model, POE model and integrated PBL-POE towards students’ achievement, overviewed from students’creativities and students’ inference abilities.This research achievement used students’ creativities and students’ inference abilities method with factorial design 3x2x2. The research population is grade XI science class student SMA Negeri 1 Bojonegoro. Sample research is decided randomly with cluster random sampling technics. In 2013/ 2014 academic year, it consisted of three classes. Experiment class I was given PBL model treatment consist of 32 students, experiment class II was given POE model treatment consists of 32 students and experiment class III was given integrated PBL-POE treatment and consists of 32 students. Data accumulation used technic test for cognitive study result, questionnaire for affective study result, psycomotor, creativity and inferency ability. Hyphothesis research test uses anova which three ways cell is not equel with help of software SPSS 18. The research result: 1) There is influence from integrated PBL-POE towards students’ achievement in cognitive, affective, psychomotor; 2) There is creativity influence towards students’ achievement; 3) There is no influence for students’ inferency abilities towards students’ achievement; 4) There is no learning model interaction with creativity low and high category influence towards students’ achievement; 5) There is learning model interaction with students’ inference abilities low and high category influence towards students’ achievement; 6) There is influence from interaction between creativity and students’ inferency abilities toward students’ achievement; 7) There is no influence from interaction between PBL model with students’ creativity and students’ inference abilities towards students’ achievement

Abstract

This study aims to determine the impact of the thesis guidance based lesson study (LS) to: 1) the acceleration of the student's accomplishment in Science Graduate Education Program UNS; and 2) the applicability of the implementation of problem based learning model. The method used in tne research was qualitative-descriptive. The population is all students of Semester 3rd in the Academic Year  2012/2013 at  Postgraduate Science Education Program UNS. Samples were selected by purposive sampling as researchers’ guidance student (M) which included 4 students with the different background and occupation, namely: 1) M.1: undergraduate student  of biology education and working as a teacher at SMP Negeri Surakarta with 10 years of teaching experience; 2) M.2: undergraduate student of  biology education and working as a private high school teacher in Surakarta with 13 years of teaching experience; 3) M.3: undergraduate student of biology education is a fresh graduate and have not been taught; 4) M.4: undergraduate student of natural biology and working as a lecturer at the Academy of Private Nursing in Surakarta. Descriptive qualitative methods are used to seeing the impact of the use of the guidance of a thesis-based lesson study to accelerating student study completion. The data collection technique is a technique test and non-test using a questionnaire, observation and documentation. Furthermore, the data were analyzed descriptively qualitative and presented in tabular form. The results showed: 1) Guidance LS-based thesis has an effective effect on the acceleration of the completion of studies students at UNS Graduate Science Education Program at (22.2%); and 2) Guidance based thesis can reduce students’ difficulties in research so that the problem based learning model can be implemented fluently.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect ofthe use of props from scrap material son the human circulatory system to the learning outcomes compared to the results of studying biology classes which were not taught using the media props in class XI SMAN 7 Kupang in the academic year 2014/2015. Problems encountered in the scholar teachers do not use visual media in learning process so the impact is on learning outcomes biology students who do not achieve KKM 70. The method used in this study is the experimental method by using quasi-experimental design. Data collection was performed by using the test results of pretest and posttest as well as documentation. Results of pretest and post test data were analyze dusing t test formula with two groups design. The results showed that there were differences in learning outcomes between classes that were taught by using media props circulatory system of scrap materials that the average value of the pretest value X=39.03 while the posttest value X=80.80 and classes that were taught by not using media props circulatory system of scrap materials pretest value Y=37.58 and posttest value Y=65.48. The difference between the two classes of learning outcomes is also indicated by the results of the calculations to test the hypothes is using the t-test the t value is 5.74, while t table is 2.000. Can be concluded that there is the effect of using props froms crap materials on the human circulatory system of the human circulatory systemina better effect on learning outcomes compared to biology student learning outcomes and students who were taught not use theme diapropsin class XI SMAN 7 Kupang in the academic year 2014/2015. So it is recommended to teachers and prospective teachers in order to teach the material of the human circulatory system can use visual aids blood circulation system of scrap materials and also both teachers and prospective teachers can make props of scrap materials in other subject matter.

Abstract

penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui potensi model pembelajaran berpola Pemberdayaan Berpikir Melalui Pertanyaan (PBMP) dalam memberdayakan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa. Lebih lanjut penelitian ini ditujukan untuk mengetahui perbedaan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa dengan etnis yang berbeda terkait dengan strategi pembelajaran yang diterapkan. Penelitin ini tergolong quasi experiment, dilaksanakan pada tahun ajaran 2015/2016 di kelas V pada dua Madrasah Ibtidaiyah yang tergolong sekolah Madrasah multietnis di Kota Ternate. Variabel yang diukur dalam penelitian ini adalah keterampilan berpikir kritis. Pemengujian hipotesis dilakukan dengan Anakova dalam program SPSS 16.0. Apabila nilai probabilitinya signifikan, maka dilakukan uji lanjut dengan LSD. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa strategi pembelajaran berpengaruh terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa dan atau dapat dikatakan bahwa strategi pembelajaran berpola PBMP lebih berpotensi untuk memberdayakan keterampilan berpikir kritis  siswa dibanding strategi konvensional. Terdapat perbedaan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa antar etnis pada kelas yang diterapkan strategi pembelajaran PBMP, perbedaan tersebut terlihat pada hasil uji LSD yang menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan berpikir kritis pada etnis Ternate tidak berbeda nyata dengan etnis Makian tetapi berbeda nyata dan lebih tinggi, dari etnis Tidore. Perbedaan tesebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa siswa pada masing-masing etnis memiliki gaya belajar yang berbeda-beda.

Abstract

Papilio blumei is an endemic butterfly of Sulawesi and especially in Bantimurung Bulusaraung National Park. This research was to observed of the behaviour and natural enemies of P. blumei in Bantimurung Bulusaraung National Park. The behaviour of the insect were mating, foraging, competiting, ovipositing and mud-puddling. Life table was used for analysis of mortality factors, therefore the number of mortality was analyzed by key-factors formulation. The result indicated that mating strategies is patrolling. Foraging activity of the sixth instar was the highest compared to the other instars and the lowest one activity of the prapupa stadium of P. blumei. Nectar host plants for the imago of butterfly were Sarcosephalum latifolius and Eugenia sp. There was Scudderia sp. as an interspesific competitor for larval P. blumei. The intraspesific competitor of the imago stage was male of P. blumei. Female P. blumei laid eggs on abaxial leaf E.hupehensis and the eggs hatched after six days. The larva of  P. blumei has a overheating behaviour and the adults has a mud puddling. The natural enemies of P.blumei is Trichogramma sp., with k value = 0.381, Pteromalus sp., with k value = 0.125 and Formica sp., with k value = 0.096.
