Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis terjemahan subtitle menggunakan teori FAR model jan pedersen  untuk mengetahui jenis kesalahan terjemahan subtitling pada film merindu cahaya de amstel. Analisis Far ini merupakan piranti menguji hasil penerjemahan subtitling melaui 3 tahapan yaitu: Functional Equivalence, Acceptability dan Readability. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode qualitative descriptive. Data diperoleh melalui sampling purposive yaitu pengamatan kepada tuturan bahasa asal (Bahasa Indonesia) yang mempunyai potensi kesalahan dalam terjemahanya pada subtitle bahasa Inggris, data dianalisis dengan menggunakan FAR model. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: jenis kesalahan terjemahan subtitle seperti Functional Equivalence: 1) Semantic error dan 2) Stylistic error ditemukan.  Acceptability 1) grammar error, 2) spelling error, 3) error of idiomaticity juga ditemukan.  Sedangkan komponen Readability 1) segmentasi dan spotting, 2) tanda baca dan kecepatan membaca, 3) serta panjang baris masih memerlukan tahapan penelitian lebih dalam.

Abstract

When learning English, students must balance the four language skills to be competent in spoken and written English. And vocabulary is required to support those four skills. It is easier for students to acquire each skill if they have a minimal bank of words. This study was conducted to determine whether or not the effectiveness of using Vlog content in vocabulary learning for young NCTZen aged 12-16 years. This research uses a quantitative descriptive method. Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaire in the form of Google Form to 100 young NCTZen. After conducting the study, the findings revealed that 56.9% of participants agreed and thought JCC content was a useful resource for learning vocabulary to young NCTZen. 6.85% of respondents gave neutral responses. While 36.7% of respondents responded disagree. From those results, it may be inferred that the majority of respondents felt that JCC Content was effective

Abstract

AbstrakAkun komik Masdimboy di Instagram mengandung makna implisit, mengandung perbedaan makna atau memiliki makna ganda sehingga menimbulkan ambiguitas pembaca serta tafsir ganda. Maka untuk itu penelitian ini dilakukan bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis wujud implikatur dalam humor komik Masdimboy di Instagram edisi Maret 2023. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode analisis data kualitatif deskriptif dengan menggunakan dasar kajian pragmatik dengan teori implikatur Grice yang memiliki dua jenis implikatur, yaitu implikatur percakapan dan implikatur konvensional. Berdasarkan penelitian yang dilakukan, hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa makna implisit dalam komik Masdimboy dengan jumlah 10 data yang terkumpul dan dianalisis, terdapat implikatur percakapan sebanyak 2 data dan kedua data tersebut melanggar maksim cara.Kata kunci: Implikatur, Komik, Maksim Grice, Pragmatik

Abstract

Terdapat begitu banyak ragam Bahasa di negara kita ini, akan tetapi Bahasa Indonesia lah yang menjadi pemersatu semua Bahasa. Memahami kaidah Bahasa Indonesia yang baik akan memberikan dampak positif bagi pengguna bahasa tersebut. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menjabarkan pentingnya Bahasa Indonesia diajarkan kepada semua mahasiswa disetiap jurusan dibangku perkuliahan dan menjabarkan materi pembelajaran yang diajarkan diruang perkuliahan. Metode penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif yang bertujuan untuk membahas betapa pentingnya matakuliah Bahasa Indonesia diajarkan pada setiap jurusan- jurusan yang ada difakultas- fakultas perguruan tinggi terkhususnya Universitas Graha Nusantara kota Padangsidimpuan. Kaidah- kaidah Bahasa Indonesia adalah hal yang sangat dianjurkan untuk diajarkan diperkuliahan. Berikut ini adalah Sebagian materi penting untuk MKU Bahasa Indonesia adalah perkembangan Bahasa Indonesia di era modern, menggunakan ragam Bahasa sesuai konteks, menggunakan EYD dengan tepat, menemukan kalimat yang tidak tepat dalam media tulis, menggunakan penalaran sesuai topik, membuat paragraph sesuai topik, menentukan topik dan merangkum karya ilmiah, membuat karya ilmiah sesuai topik dan judul.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perlunya  perpustakaan  berbasis WhatsApp yang berfungsi sebagai wadah apresiasi karya sastra berupa prosa dan puisi yang dihasilkan oleh siswa SMA Negeri 5 Medan secara umum dan secara khusus oleh siswa kelas X MIA 1 SMA Negeri 5 Medan pada tahun pembelajaran 2022/2023. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga bertujuan ntuk mengetahui dan menjelaskan kendala apa saja yang dihadapi dalam mengimplementasikan perpustakaan berbasis WhatsApp dan untuk menjelaskan motivasi belajar siswa terhadap teks sastra berupa puisi dan prosa dengan adanya sistem perpustakaan digital ini. Jenis Penelitian yang dilakukan dengan pendekatan kuantitatif melalui metode penelitian deskriptif yang digunakan untuk menggambarkan atau menganalisis suatu hasil penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan sistem perpustakaan SMA Negeri 5 yang semula masih berupa konvensional setelah menjadi perpustakaan berbasis WhatsApp dalam bentuk kumpul karya siswa yang dilaksanakan di kelas X MIA 1 berjalan lebih efektif dan efisien. Hal ini dapat dilihat pada data kuantitatif berupa grafik jumlah karya sastra siswa yang didokumentasikan setiap minggu mengalami kenaikan. Dengan adanya perpustakaan berbasis WhatsApp dalam bentuk kumpulan karya sastra  diharapkan dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa khususnya dalam  bidang sastra.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify the verbal and non-verbal cues used in Disney movie posters as well as to interpret their significance. The verbal sign refers to text or words on the Disney movie poster. Colors and characters are used to represent non–verbal signs. The research data were taken from Pinterest. A descriptive qualitative method was used in this research. The theory from Saussure (2007), the denotation and connotation from Barthes in Chalder (2002), and the theory of color words from Wierzbicka (1996) were all applied in this research. The results of this research, Disney movie posters contained 6 non-verbal and 10 spoken signs. These meanings were found in the words and pictures of Disney movie posters.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the derivative speech act in the 1980 film Lion of Desert. This study used a pragmatic approach. This study used qualitative descriptive method. Researchers took the film Lion Of The Desert as a source of research data. All utterances contained in the Lion Of The Desert film will be the subject of research, while the object of research is all directive speech acts contained in films with the realm of pragmatic studies. The data analysis method used in this study is the equivalent method. This film tells the story of a former teacher, Umar Mukhtar, who is nicknamed the Lion of the Desert for his courage and ability to fight. In 1911 under the leadership of Benito Mussolini, Italy expanded its colonial territory to Libyan territory. In 1929 a war led by Umar Mukhtar broke out. General Benito Mussolini sent General Radofo Garziani with the task of suppressing the rebellion carried out by Umar Mukhtar. From the film Lion Of The Desert (1980) which became the source of this research data obtained dialogues that showed the existence of speech acts that referred to the form and function of directive speech acts. The directive speech acts contained in the film are, orders, requests, advises, prohibitions, invitations, suggestions, begs, questions, indirectly, and directly. While the functions of speech acts contained in the film are: commanding, warning, asking, asking, inviting, and suggestions.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis prinsip kesantunan bahasa dan pelanggaran prinsip kesantunan bahasa dalam novel “Ayat-Ayat Cinta” karya Habiburrahman El Shirazy. Metode pengumpulan data dalam pene;itian ini adalah metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif, adapun teknik pengumpulandata yaitu dengan langkah-langkah reduksi data, penyajian kata, dan penarikan kesimpulan.Berdasarkan data yang telah di analisis, diperoleh dalam bentuk pematuhan asas dan kesopanan dalam berbahasa serta pelanggaran asas kesantunan bahasa yang terdapat pada tulisan  dalam novel “Ayat-ayat Cinta” karya Habiburrahman El Shirazy yang terjadi pada maksim kedermawaan, penghargaan, kebijaksanaan, kesederhanaan, kesepakatan, dan kesimpati. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the results of using image media on the ability of students to write poetry in the fourth semester at the Islamic University of Labuhan Batu. Using descriptive qualitative research methods, with test instruments and questionnaires. The number of samples taken were fourth semester students at Labuhan Batu University, totaling 36 students. Based on the results of the research conducted, it can be described that the test results for improving the poetry writing skills of fourth semester students at Labuhan Batu University are categorized as "Good". This can be seen by the average score obtained by students, which is 83.42. Writing Poetry Using Image Media by Labuhan Batu University Students is categorized as "Good". This can be seen by the average score obtained by students, which is 86.39. There is an Improvement in Writing Poetry Skills by Using Image Media by Labuhan Batu University Students. This can be seen in the hypothesis testing carried out on the data found, where the hypothesis obtained is that the value of rxy (product moment correlation coefficient between variable X and variable Y) is 1,434 so that when compared to r table, namely (1.343> 0.45, the hypothesis in this study is accepted.

Abstract

This study aims to know the ESP students’ perception in applying Quizizz application for evaluation on English Grammar material. This research used Applied Research based on information technology where Quizizz is used as an evaluation tool. The subjects of the research were 81 students from the second semester of Management Study Program of University of Timor. The researcher used test and questionnaire to gain the data of the research. The test consisted of 15 questions relating to grammar material (Pronoun, Passive voice, and Modality). The test was multiple choice question form. Then, the researcher created questionnaire to find out the students’ perception or responses about using Quizizz application as the evaluation tool. The research findings shows that there were positive perspectives of the students toward applying Quizizz. It was as the results of students’ score in Quizizz and their final exams. There were improvement in their final test. In conclusion, the students regarded that Quizizz  is attractive game consisted of live top chart, music. The students can know the correct answers and enjoy to answer the questions in this application.
