Abstract

The increasing global demand for sustainable, eco-friendly, and intelligent food packaging has driven the development of biodegradable materials capable of not only reducing plastic pollution but also actively sensing food spoilage. This research presents the design and evaluation of an edible rice paper derived from Manihot esculenta (cassava) leaf fibers integrated with natural pH-responsive anthocyanin indicators from Clitoria ternatea (butterfly pea flower). The material exhibits visible color changes in response to pH variations associated with food decomposition, enabling real-time monitoring of food freshness. Mechanical, physicochemical, and colorimetric properties of the developed bio-film were systematically characterized. Results demonstrate that the film exhibits significant pH-sensitive color transformation, desirable mechanical strength, antioxidant activity, and rapid biodegradability when compared with conventional synthetic polymers. These findings support the potential of this material to serve as a green alternative to traditional plastic packaging, enhancing food safety while mitigating environmental impacts. This work contributes to sustainable packaging innovation and addresses critical challenges of plastic waste and consumer health risks linked to synthetic packaging materials.

Abstract

The development of the Islamic economy and finance in Indonesia has led to an increasing need for dispute resolution mechanisms that are effective, efficient, and compatible with Sharia principles. Badan Arbitrase Syariah Nasional (Basyarnas) functions as a non-litigation dispute resolution institution in the field of Islamic economics. This study aims to examine the legal standing of Basyarnas within the national legal system and to analyze strategies for optimizing its role as an out-of-court forum for resolving Islamic economic disputes. Based on a normative juridical review employing statutory and conceptual approaches, and secondary data collected through document analysis, This study finds that the legal existence and strategic role of Basyarnas continue to face various challenges, including the weak recognition of its decisions by judicial institutions, the low level of business actors? literacy regarding Sharia arbitration mechanisms, and limitations in human resources and institutional infrastructure. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen the regulatory framework governing the legal standing of Basyarnas as a dispute resolution institution, enhance inter-institutional harmonization, improve the competence of Sharia arbitrators, and promote the digitalization of arbitration services as strategic measures to reinforce Basyarnas?s role as an integral part of the Islamic economic dispute resolution system in Indonesia.

Abstract

An important dimension when assessing a product is its quality, namely the extent to which the product is able to perform according to its intended function. This quality describes the product's ability to meet consumer preferences. Typically, qualities that are not visible at the purchase stage will be revealed when the product is used. This study was conducted to determine how product quality, price, and design affect the satisfaction of UINSU students in purchasing Ventela shoes. A quantitative approach was applied using a questionnaire as the primary data source. The number of respondents consisted of 100 students who use Ventela shoes selected through Purposive Sampling. Multiple Linear Regression Analysis using SPSS version 16 was used to test the influence of the variables of product quality, price, and design. The results of the reliability test showed that Cronbach's alpha was between 0.730 and 0.881, so that all variables were declared reliable because they had exceeded the threshold of 0.60. The product quality variable obtained a t-count of 2.077, which was greater than the t-table of 1.98 with a significance of 0.040 t table 1.98, so that H3 is declared accepted.

Abstract

Studies on integrative curricula in Integrated Islamic Schools have generally been dominated by research at the primary education level and literature reviews, leaving a gap in empirical analysis based on classical philosophy at the Senior High School (SMA) level. This qualitative research employing a case study method aims to evaluate the relevance of Omar Mohammad Al-Toumy Al-Syaibany’s curriculum thought at SMAIT Fithrah Insani in addressing the dichotomy between religious and general sciences. The results conclude that Al-Syaibany’s classical philosophical ideas are adaptively and vividly reflected in three main pillars: the normative aspect, which positions tawhid as an overarching worldview through cross-disciplinary assignments and structured daily religious habituation; the humanistic aspect, which recognizes students' multidimensional fitrah through holistic evaluation and academic writing autonomy; and the systemic aspect, which demonstrates a dynamic and flexible stance in responding to curriculum transitions. The primary contribution of this study provides empirical evidence that Al-Syaibany’s classical philosophy can be realistically and adaptively implemented in modern schools to address contemporary challenges. This research also enriches Islamic education curriculum studies, serves as a guideline for teachers in integrating knowledge, and offers insights for policymakers.

Abstract

This study examines the discourse on dream psychology by comparing the perspectives of Islamic and modern psychology, drawing on the work of Ibn Qutaibah and Calvin S. Hall. This study is motivated by the paradigm differences between the Islamic tradition, which views dreams as symbolic-spiritual phenomena, and modern psychology, which positions dreams as reflections of individual cognitive processes and psychological experiences. Although the study of dreams has been widely discussed in both scholarly traditions, comparative research specifically comparing the thoughts of Ibn Qutaibah and Calvin S. Hall is still relatively limited. Therefore, this study makes a novel contribution to efforts to establish an integrative dialogue between Islamic scholarship and modern psychology in understanding the phenomenon of dreams. This study uses a qualitative approach with a literature review and comparative analysis. Primary sources include Ibn Qutaibah's Ta'wil al-Ru'ya and Calvin S. Hall's A Cognitive Theory of Dreams, supported by classical Islamic literature and contemporary psychological studies on dreams. The results indicate that Ibn Qutaibah interpreted dreams through a symbolic, spiritual, and transcendental approach, grounded in divine messages and individual moral development. In contrast, Hall views dreams as manifestations of an individual's cognitive processes, life experiences, emotions, and psychological dynamics. Despite fundamental epistemological differences, both perspectives view dreams as meaningful phenomena that reflect humankind's inner state. This research contributes to enriching the development of Islamic and modern psychology through a more holistic approach to dream analysis within the context of contemporary psychology.

Abstract

This article discusses the theological perspective and contextualization of the present, omnipotence is no longer interpreted as merely miraculous intervention, but rather as God's love, care, and active presence in the real struggles of humanity in the world. This concept emphasizes that God is not only a creator who withdrew after creating the world, but also a person who continues to be present and involved in every aspect of the lives of His creation. This study explains how God's immanent and transcendent omnipotence is understood in the perspective of systematic theology by using the lens of Martin Luther's teachings and then explaining its contextualization in the HKBP Confessions of 1951 and 1996. The conclusion of this article states that there is an interaction and relationship between God and humans. This relationship begins with the person of God who first introduces himself to humans and gives humans the opportunity to make decisions according to the free will they already have.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to analyze Harald Motzki’s approach to hadith studies, specifically through the application of the isnād-cum-matn analysis method to Shaifah ‘Abd al-Razzāq as one of the early sources of hadith in Islam. This study is motivated by the dominance of the Orientalist skepticism paradigm in hadith studies pioneered by Ignaz Goldziher and Joseph Schacht, which tends to cast doubt on the authenticity of hadith. This research employs a qualitative approach using library research methods through an examination of Harald Motzki’s works and literature related to contemporary hadith studies. The results of the study indicate that Motzki offers a more empirical and moderate approach compared to earlier Orientalists by simultaneously integrating the analysis of isnād and matn. Through his analysis of Shaifah ‘Abd al-Razzāq, Motzki successfully demonstrates that some hadith narrations have historical roots traceable to the early generations of Islam. The novelty of this study lies in its examination of the concrete application of the isnād-cum-matn analysis method in reconstructing the authenticity of hadith, rather than merely focusing on the biographical aspects or general ideas of Harald Motzki. This study contributes to enriching the methodology of contemporary hadith studies while opening a space for dialogue between the classical Islamic tradition of hadith criticism and modern Western historical approaches.
