Abstract

AbstractActivated carbon derived from biomass as an adsorbent has attracted much interest due to its environmentally friendly nature, abundant and porous structure. This paper aims to summarize literature studies of activated carbon generated from candlenut shells (Aleurites moluccana) via a chemical was activation process. The availability of these raw materials is very abundant in Indonesia that requires serious attentions to reduce the accumulation of solid waste which cause the environmental problems. One possible solution is that the biomass can be converted to an adsorbent which can absorb the heavy metal that can damage the environment. The results of previous studies indicate that activated carbon produced from candlenut shells could effectively absorbs mercury.Keywords : activated carbon, candlenut shell, biomass, adsorbent, mercury

Abstract

AbstractIn an effort to improve air quality, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has implemented a Low Emission Zone (LEZ) in Kawasan Kota Tua Jakarta since 2021. Only pedestrians, bicycles, public transport, and specially marked vehicles can cross LEZ. The purpose of this study is to analyze the concentration of Pb in Kawasan Kota Tua Jakarta based on Ambient Air Quality Standard (BMUA). The research method used in this study is descriptive quantitative. Samples were taken using a portable High Volume Air Sampler and analyzed using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry Flame. Sampling was carried out on March 25–May 15, 2022 (7 days) during the morning, afternoon, and evening at 4 points, UPK Kota Tua (UPK), Jakarta History Museum (MSJ), Kota Tua Entrance (PMK) and Jakarta Kota Station (SJK) so that 84 samples were collected. The results showed that the Pb concentration was higher than BMUA PP 22/2021 (2µg/Nm3 for a 24-hour period) in PMK 4,343µg/Nm3 (Friday), SJK 2,080µg/Nm3 (Wednesday), and at every sampling point (2,055–3,094µg/Nm3) on Saturday-Sunday. In conclusion, there are Pb concentrations that have passed the BMUA at certain locations and days. The average concentration of Pb in locations outside the LEZ tends to be higher than in the LEZ locations. Abstract

PT XYZ is a company operating in the manufacturing industry sector to produce car parking brakes. At this company there are several failures that often occur in the production process, namely bubbles, scratches, bending process failures and press failures. In this study, the aim is to evaluate the failures that occur in the company. The method that will be used in this research is Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA). FMEA is a method that identifies, analyzes, and prioritizes the failures that occur so that the causes and impacts of each failure will be known. This method produces a Risk Priority Number (RPN) score that starts from the recapitulation results between the severity, occurrence and detection rating values to show the priority level of problems that occur. Based on the RPN calculations carried out in this study, the highest RPN value occurs in the type of bubble defect which is equal to 288. The second rank is the scratch defect type with an RPN score of 180. The third is press failure with an RPN score of 81 and the last is bending failure with a score RPN 40.

Abstract

AbstractStunting is a failure in growth due to insufficient nutritional intake in toddlers. Until now, stunting is still a health problem around the world, especially in developing and low-income countries. Stunting is not only caused by one factor but from many factors that are interrelated with each other, one of which is the contribution of lead and cadmium exposure which is associated with nutrient deficiency as a risk factor for stunting in toddlers. This study was conducted to assess the risk of exposure to Lead (Pb) and Cadmium (Cd). Literature searches are carried out through the journal sites Google Scholar, Garuda, Science Direct, Proquest, Scopus, JSTOR, PubMed. Article selection is carried out with criteria including bound variables are stunting events in toddlers, free variables are exposure to lead (Pb) and cadmium (Cd), open access full text, selected articles with a publication date of not more than the last 10 years (2012-2022), in Indonesian and English. Of the 574 relevant articles, 6 main articles showe the results that exposure to lead and cadmium in toddlers come from one of the factors, it is environmental and has an impact on the incidence of stunting in toddlers, due to the nature of heavy metals that are able to inhibit food nutrition and are directly proportional to cognitive decline in children. Abstract

AbstractOne effort that can be done to increase the quantity of clean water is a water treatment system. So that the resulting water quality results can reach PP No. 22 Tahun 2021 quality standards, the resulting water quality results must have an appropriate treatment system to improve the quality of peat water and increase clean water availability. Manufacturing of tools and trials at the Laboratorium Teknik Lingkungan Universitas Muhammadiyah Palangkaraya and collecting peat water on the Palangkaraya Cross-City road. The type of sample used in the implementation of this research is a grab sample, namely a sample taken directly from the water to be monitored. Peat water samples were taken as much as 10 liters. The water treatment system consists of 3 tanks which have their respective functions. Where the first tub is the coagulation tub, the second is the flocculation tub and the third is the filtering tub. The time needed to process peat water into 10 liters of clean water takes about ± 15 minutes. Clean water treatment of 10 liters for 15 minutes can be used by 2-3 people in one treatment. The quantity of water produced by this water treatment device is physically usable, as seen from the efficiency of the time it takes to process 15 minutes in 10 liters so that it can be used for hand washing activities.Keywords: Clean water, peat water, treatment system, time and volume efficiency

Abstract

Sedimentation is one of the main problems in the operation and maintenance of the reservoir because it can cause a decrease in the function of the reservoir, as well as in the Wonogiri reservoir which has been operating since 1982. The JICA Study Team in 2007 calculated the annual erosion production on-farm (land) and off-farm (physical buildings) that occurred in all watersheds flowing into the Wonogiri Multipurpose Reservoir amounting to 17,279 million tons per year. The JICA Study Team carried out the community-based watershed conservation physical activities in the context of implementing the Countermeasure for Sediment in Wonogiri Multipurpose Dam Reservoir (CSWMDR) Program, divided into 2 work programs, namely JICA Slice I (in 2015) and JICA Slice II aims to obtain the rate of erosion and erosion reduction with achievements in accordance with the targets set in the Implementation Plan. This study aims to analyze the rate of erosion in the present and future conditions and land erosion reduction in CSWMDR conservation activities to overcome sedimentation in the Wonogiri Reservoir to support the JICA Slice II work program using the USLE method as well as ArcGIS Software assistance and additional tools Spatial Analyst and Model Builder. The results of the analysis show that the total erosion rate in 10 target villages in the present condition is 158,809.21 m3/year, while the total erosion rate in the future condition is 110,354.92 m3/year, and the total erosion rate reduction is 16,268.27 m3/year.

Abstract

AbstractSanitation and environmental health are complex problems facing Indonesia today. If these problems are not addressed immediately, this will certainly have an impact on sanitation and environmental health in the settlements themselves, such as the emergence of germs. So this literature review aims to describe the description and handling strategies of slums settlements in Batang Arau Village, Padang City regarding sanitation and environmental health. The method used is qualitative and literature review. The results of the study show that the settlements in Batang Arau Village, Padang City have mild, medium, and large slums sanitation categories. The environment street and drinking water supply are in the low category. The medium category includes buildings, waste water management, and solid waste management. While environmental drainage and fire protection are included in the large category. The handling strategy that can be taken to deal with these slums settlements are to carry out a socialization program in the form of the Kotaku Program, create an environment-based slums settlement concept, carry out a community empowerment/ human resources (HR) strategy, carry out sustainable slums management, and carry out area management plans settlement. Abstract

Abstract In an increasingly developing industrial era, companies must have consistency in their business activities, including fulfilling customer satisfaction. One of the factors that can provide satisfaction to customers is the suitability between expectations and the product provided, including the quality of the product. In order for product quality to be consistent, quality control must be carried out by the company. This study aims to identify defects that occur and provide recommendations for improvements to the production of camshafts at PT. Morita Tjokro Gearindo. Lean six sigma DMAIC concept is the method used in this study with five stages of systematic control. The data used in this research is the amount of production and the number of defective products in the period January-June 2022. These data are obtained from company reports and other data such as work systems, field conditions obtained through direct observation and interviews. From the analysis that has been done, it is known that there are still many defects above the company's tolerance limit of 0.5%. There are three types of defects that occur in camshaft production, namely burry, lip, and no chamfer journal. The results of calculating the company's sigma value obtained a value of 4.22, which means it is already above the Indonesian industry average. Based on the results of the Pareto diagram, the highest type of defect is burry with 75% caused by material, method and environmental factors. Proposed improvements based on the 5W + 1H analysis, namely having a manual book placed on the machine, making checksheets to ensure repeated checks, and having SOPs related to briefings before work and breaks to restore operator focus.Keywords: Distro, Apparel, Marketing, SWOT, QSPM Abstrak Pada masa industri yang semakin berkembang, perusahaan harus memiliki konsistensi dalam aktivitas bisnisnya, termasuk pada pemenuhan kepuasan pelanggan. Salah satu faktor yang dapat memberikan kepuasan pada pelanggan adalah kesesuaian antara harapan dan produk yang diberikan termasuk kualitas produknya. Agar kualitas produk dapat konsisten diperlukan pengendalian kualitas yang harus dilakukan oleh perusahaan. Penelitian ini ditujukan untuk mengidentifikasi cacat yang terjadi dan memberikan usulan perbaikan pada produksi camshaft di PT. Morita Tjokro Gearindo. Lean six sigma konsep DMAIC menjadi metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini dengan lima tahap pengendalian yang sistematis. Data yang digunakan pada penlitian ini berupa jumlah produksi dan jumlah produk cacat pada periode Januari-Juni 2022. Data-data tersebut didapatkan dari laporan perusahaan serta data lain seperti sistem kerja, kondisi lapangan yang didapat melalui observasi dan wawancara secara langsung. Dari analisis yang telah dilakukan diketahui masih banyak terjadi cacat di atas batas toleransi perusahaan yaitu 0,5%. Terdapat tiga jenis cacat yang terjadi pada produksi camshaft yaitu burry, bibiri, dan no chamfer journal. Hasil perhitungan nilai sigma perusahaan didapatkan nilai 4,22 yang berarti sudah berada diatas rata-rata industri Indonesia. Berdasarkan hasil diagram pareto jenis cacat tertinggi yaitu burry dengan 60% yang disebabkan dari faktor material, metode, dan lingkungan. Usulan perbaikan berdasarkan analisis 5W+1H yaitu adanya manual book yang ditempatkan di mesin, pembuatan checksheet untuk memastikan pengecekan berulang, dan adanya SOP terkait pengarahan sebelum pekerjaan dan adanya break untuk mengembalikan fokus operator. Kata Kunci: Industri, Kualitas, Produk Cacat, Six Sigma, DMAIC

Abstract

Abstract In conditions of increasingly fierce competition, quality control is important in order to maintain and increase customer loyalty. This is because by maintaining product quality, consumers will feel satisfied and from this, consumers will be loyal to the company. This study aimed to analyze the level of defects in trim assy parts at PT. XYZ. In this study, the method used is lean six sigma DMAIC to analyze defects and kaizen analysis to provide suggestions for improvement in reducing the number of defective products. From the results of the analysis carried out, there are four types of defects in the production of trim assy parts, namely dirty, clip not assy, over melting, and black dot. The results at the measure stage are known that the company's sigma level reaches a value of 3.51 which means it is already above the average value of Indonesian companies. However, quality control must still be carried out, this aims to ensure that the quality of the products produced remains according to the specified standards. From the results of calculations and presented on the Pareto diagram, dirty defects have the highest cumulative value, which is 68%. From the results of the fishbone diagram, it is known that the cause of dirty is by humans and methods. Workers are not careful, there is no double check, then there is no SOP that explicitly regulates the work system to be the cause of dirty defects. As for the suggestions given in this study, such as the existence of SOPs that regulate the cleaning of shelves, or a holder for measuring, the creation of a poka yoke to make a more automated system.Keywords: Product Defect, Lean Six Sigma, DMAIC, Kaizen, PT. XYZ AbstrakDalam kondisi persaingan yang semakin ketat, pengendalian kualitas menjadi hal yang penting agar dapat mempertahankan dan meningkatkan loyalitas konsumen. Hal ini karena dengan menjaga kualitas produk konsumen akan merasa puas dan dari hal tersebut konsumen akan loyal terhadap perusahaan, Penelitian ini ditujukan untuk menganalisis tingkat cacat pada part trim assy di PT. XYZ. Dalam penelitian ini metode yang digunakan yaitu lean six sigma DMAIC untuk menganalisis cacat dan analisis kaizen untuk memberikan usulan perbaikan dalam menekan angka produk cacat. Dari hasil analisis yang dilakukan, terdapat empat jenis cacat pada produksi part trim assy yaitu dirty, clip not assy, over melting, dan black dot. Hasil pada tahap measure diketahui bahwa tingkat sigma perusahaan mencapai nilai 3,51 yang berarti sudah berada di atas nilai rata-rata perusahaan Indonesia. Namun demikian pengendalian kualitas harus tetap dilakukan, hal ini bertujuan agar kualitass produk yang diproduksi tetap sesuai standar yang ditentukan. Dari hasil perhitungan dan disajikan pada diagam pareto cacat dirty memiliki nilai kumulatif yang paling tinggi yaitu 68%. Dari hasil diagran fishbone diketahui bahwa penyebab terjadinya dirty yaitu oleh manusia dan metode. Pekerja kurang teliti, tidak ada double check, kemudian tidak ada SOP yang secara tegas mengatur sistem kerja menjadi penyebab terjadinya cacat dirty. Adapun usulan yang diberikan pada penelitian ini seperti adanya SOP yang mengatur pembersihan rak, atau dudukan untuk mengukur, adanya pembuatan poka yoke untuk membuat sistem yang lebih otomatis.Kata Kunci: Produk Cacat, Lean Six Sigma, DMAIC, Kaizen, PT. Abstract

AbstractRivers in Indonesia are heavily polluted by unmanaged municipal solid waste (MSW) which affects their capacity as drinking water, power, and irrigation sources. This research aimed to analyze the effect of MSW types and contact time on the dynamics of Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) and ammonia in the waterthat was traced over two weeks period in a batch reactor filled with Ciliwung River organic and inorganic MSW samples. Then, the MSW degradation rates to COD and ammonia (k1) were mathematically analyzed by using the mass balance principle. The results showed that for organic MSW, there were rapid increasesin COD and ammonia concentrations on the first 6 days of the experiment and followed by steady decreases. In contrast, for inorganic MSW, overall steady trends were observed for both COD and Ammonia. The analysis of the degradation rate showed that the values of K1 for COD in organic MSW was ranging from3.841 to 4.655 /day, 10-30 times higher than those of inorganic MSW values, which ranged from 0.122 to 0.425 /day. For ammonia, the values of k1 for organic MSW ranged from 0.0021 to 0.0028 /day, about two times higher than those of inorganic MSW values ranging from 0.001-0.0014 /day. Findings in this studyoffer opportunities to model and simulate COD and Ammonia dynamics in surface water due to MSW contamination.Keywords: COD, ammonia, degradation, solid waste, time effect
