Assessment is the ways of teachers/lecturers gather data about their teaching and their students’ learning. In order to grapple with what seems to be an over use of testing, educators should frame their view of testing as assessment and that assessment is information. In relation to this, the researcher interested in conducting a study which is focus on assessing Informatics Engineering students’ competence in English. The researcher used descriptive research. The population of the reaserch was the informatics Engineering students which total students was 160 students at the second semester. Purposive sampling used in this study in order to focus the finding which the number of sample was 40 students. This study used formative and summative assessment in assessing students’ comptence in English. Following that, the data was collected during teaching and learning process in form of observation, documentation, and test. After that, the data was analyzed by using statistical in term of norm-references and criterion-references. Based on the result of this study, it could be concluded that the formative assessment format mostly designed in speaking and listening test format and summative assessment was applied all in English skills format since the lecturer consider that it is beneficial for students to master the particular skills as the requirements for applying into their careers.

Covid-19 memiliki dampak yang cukup signifikan dalam kehidupan masyarakat pada saat ini, salah satunya dalam bidang pendidikan. Pembelajaran yang seharusnya dilakukan secara tatap muka harus ditiadakan dan digantikan dengan pembelajaran daring. Saat ini pembelajaran daring menjadi sarana alternatif bagi tenaga pendidik agar kegiatan belajar mengajar tetap berjalan meskipun siswa sedang berada di rumah. Pembelajaran daring memiliki sisi positif dan sisi negatif, bagi siswa dampak negatifnya yaitu siswa kurang optimal dalam menguasai materi yang disampaikan guru sehingga membuat nilai para siswa menjadi turun. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui nilai rata - rata kelas X sebelum pandemi Covid-19 dan sesudah pandemi Covid-19 di SMK Ma’arif 9 Kebumen, serta untuk mengetahui kendala apa saja yang diraskan guru maupun siswa dalam melaksanakan pembelajaran daring selama masa pandemi Covid-19. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskrtiptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Penelitian ini telah dilakukan pada tanggal 25 Januari sampai 2 Maret 2021 Tahun Ajaran 2020/2021 di SMK Ma’arif 9 Kebumen. Sampel penelitian ini terdiri dari satu kelas. Penentuan sample dengan menggunakan teknik sampling purposive. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa dalam pembelajaran daring di SMK Maarif 9 Kebumen Nilai Rata-rata sebelum pandemi 86,92 dan sesudah pandemi 84,38,sehingga terjadi selisih penurunan nilai sebesar 2,54. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa dalam pembelajaran daring mempengaruhi penurunan nilai rata-rata kelas sebesar 3,01% jika dibandingkan dengan nilai sebelum pandemi

Pembuatan media pembelajaran sangat dibutuhkan untuk media pembelajaran praktik di program studi pendidikan vokasional teknik elektro. Adanya perkembangan industri elektronika yang sangat pesat, kurangnya keefektifan proses praktikum siswa, karena jumlah siswa dalam satu kelas yang mencapai lebih dari 37 tidak sebanding dengan jumlah media pembelajaran yang terbatas disekolah yaitu tiga buah. Adanya pengabungan mata pelajaran pengukuran listrik dan dasar elektronika menjadi mata pelajaran dasar listrik dan elektronika berpengaruh pada pengurangan jam pembelajaran. Sebelum adanya perubahan kurikulum, proses pembelajaran dilakukan selama 10 jam setelah digabung yaitu hanya 5 jam. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran trainer kit teknik digital, mengetahui tingkat kelayakan dan keefektifan media pembelajaran teknik digital dalam pembelajaran praktikum di SMK N 2 Kota Serang jurusan teknik ketenagalistrikan pada materi gerbang logika dasar. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah R&D prosedur penelitian pengembangan media mengadaptasi dari langkah yang ditulis oleh Sukmadinata. Tahap-tahap penelitian pengembangan yang telah dimodifikasi terdiri dari studi pendahuluan, pengembangan produk dan uji produk. Data hasil pengujian terhadap siswa didapatkan data kelayakan media pembelajaran dengan perolehan rata-rata skor sebesar 87,7 terletak pada interval x ≥ 75. Hasil rata-rata skor tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa media pembelajaran trainer teknik digital dikategorikan sangat layak. Hasil keseluruhan dari masing-masing evaluasi penilaian diperoleh persentase sebesar 89% dengan kategori baik yang berarti penggunaan media pembelajaran trainer teknik digital dapat dikategorikan efektif dalam pembelajaran. Jadi dapat disimpulkan bahwa media pembelajaran trainer kit teknik digital sangat layak digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran di program studi pendidikan vokasional teknik elektro untuk mata kuliah teknik digital.

As a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, it has greatly impacted the world, especially in the field of education, therefore, with increasingly developing technological capabilities, the teaching and learning process in schools is also carried out online. This study aims to analyze the character values of students, as well as describe the design of student character learning in accordance with Pancasila as the basis of the State, and students are able to instill character values in everyday life. This research was conducted at MI TerpaduTahfidz Al Mubarak Langsa in grades 3 and 4 with 20 students per class, and 4th grade teachers. The data analysis method used is a qualitative method by applying field research, namely by field observations, by observing each object which is done online through a video call application. From the results of the analysis, it was known that the character of students in grades III and IV of Integrated MI Tahfidz Al Mubarak 80% is very in accordance with the values of Pancasila because the learning system is carried out always under the supervision of parents and teachers with a maximum number of ten students in one online class. In one class there are two teachers who teach in each class, every day parents must send reports on student progress to their respective class teachers. This is also inseparable from the role of parents in educating their children at home even though the state of the teaching and learning process is carried out online.

Many foreign language students are apprehensive about learning a new language in a certain situation. When they are asked to express their thoughts in front of their peers and lecturers, they appear to become more anxious. Then, when they talk in English, they never feel completely at ease. Consequently, the aim of this research is to determine the level of student speaking anxiety and to determine the dominant type of anxiety that occurs in English classroom. This research was conducted by using descriptive quantitative study. The research participants were the third-grade students of SMAN 2 Siak Hulu of academic year 2020/2021. The total of students was 34 students. Then, the researchers obtained the data through questionnaires. The result of this research showed that most experienced level of speaking anxiety in the third-grade students was Mildly Anxious. Additionally, based on FLCAS, there are 3 types of speaking anxiety students experienced in the classroom was negative evaluation, followed by test anxiety and communication apprehension. In this case, the researchers found that “Communication Apprehension” was the main factor causing around 27 (79%) students to feel nervous, followed by 23 (68% students with “Fear of Negative Evaluation” factors, and the lowest factor for 22 (65%) students was “Test Anxiety”. Therefore, the third-grade students of SMAN2 Siak Hulu were categorized at the Mildly Anxious level of speaking anxiety in the English classroom.

Using English Pronunciation in understanding ending –s is one technique to increase the students’ competence, focusing in pronunciation, like in pronouncing ending –s. In digital era, using English Pronunciation in understanding ending –s is the common technique since the students are actively getting involved in gadget. The researchers need in evaluating students’ perception on using English Pronunciation in understanding pronunciation of ending –s. The aim of this research is to investigate students’ perception about the use of English Pronunciation in understanding ending –s. The method employed in this research was qualitative, and it was explained descriptively. The third year semester students at STBA Persada Bunda that used this English Pronunciation application in understanding ending –s were the population as well as the sample of this research. There were 10 students of STBA Persada Bunda in academic year 2018/2019 involved in this study. To collect the data, all students were asked before using English Pronunciation in understanding ending –s from online application and offline one. Then, the researchers distributed six questions related to the students’ perception of using English Pronunciation in understanding ending –s by using interview with semi structured model. The result showed that, most of the third year students were pushed to use English Pronunciation in understanding ending –s in obtaining knowledge and joyful while learning process about voiced sounds, voiceless sound, and sibilant sound. In conclusion, the research about students perception is positive response by using English Pronunciation of pronouncing ending –s.

Kemajuan zaman dan teknologi saat ini membuat segala informasi bisa diakses melalui media apapun termasuk hal yang berkaitan dengan pemahaman keagamaan di kalangan guru maupun siswa. Hal ini mempermudah akses oknum-oknum tertentu yang berniat untuk mendoktrin pikiran siswa dan guru menjadi radikalisme yang tidak toleran. Untuk itu perlu adanya program khusus dalam upaya menjaga dan melindungi siswa dari paham tersebut di lingkungan sekolah. Oleh karena itu, tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis langkah-langkah pencegahan paham radikalisme keagamaan yang intoleran di lingkungan sekolah. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian lapangan yang kemudian disajikan dalam bentuk deskriptif. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dari tanggal 15 Maret 2021 sampai dengan 13 Juni 2021. Subjek dalam penelitian ini antara lain adalah Kepala Seksi PAI, Guru PAI di SD, SMP, SMA, dan SMK. Teknik pengumpulan data dari penelitian ini dilakukan dengan cara observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, dan triangulasi. Pengolahan data dalam penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan cara reduksi data, penyajian data, dan menarik kesimpulan atau verifikasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Kementerian Agama Kabupaten Banyumas mengimplementasikan program moderasi beragama di lingkungan pendidikan sekolah dengan cara: 1) Kementerian Agama Kabupaten Banyumas sebagai Pembina Guru PAI, 2) Pembina Ekstrakulikuler Keagamaan, 3) Pengampu Guru PAI, 4) Pengawas Guru PAI, dan 5) Kementerian Agama juga bekerja sama dengan Forum Kerukunan Umat Beragama (FKUB) Kabupaten Banyumas. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini bahwa program moderasi beragama yang dicanangkan oleh Kementerian Agama Kabupaten Banyumas di lingkungan sekolah sudah berjalan dengan cukup baik karena koordinasi yang baik antara Kementerian Agama Kabupaten Banyumas dengan Guru PAI di Sekolah.

Pronunciation is one of the most important parts of speaking. The wrong pronunciation can lead to the wrong meaning of the word. Therefore, there should be media to help students understand pronunciation more. There are a lot of media can be used, one of them is YouGlish. The objective of the research is to explore students’ perceptions of the implementation of YouGlish in learning English Pronunciation at English Department Universitas Bandar Lampung. YouGlish is a YouTube-based website launched to improve English pronunciation that helps users to find out how to pronounce a word or phrase correctly and appropriately. In this research, the researchers used the descriptive qualitative method. This study was conducted for first semester English students at Universitas Bandar Lampung. This study's instruments were a questionnaire and an interview. The finding shows that students have positive perceptions of the implementation of YouGlish. They perceived that there were several benefits from the use of YouGlish. The results of this research showed students' perception of the implementation of YouGlish in learning English Pronunciation. The questionnaire results also showed mostly positive and negative feedback. The combination of those two instruments is the way to know what the students’ perceptions of the implementation of YouGlish in learning pronunciation. In conclusion, YouGlish can make students interested in studying Pronunciation and stimulate students to learn as it has features which will increase the enthusiasm for learning.

During the covid-19 pandemic, the researcher needs to assess online learning by using Google classroom for English for Foreign Language students. Since online learning differs from face-to-face learning, the researcher is interested in doing this study. Online learning is learning process that students and the teacher is not in one classroom in the same place but in one medium in different place. The aim of the research is about online learning for English for Foreign Language students during the covid-19 pandemic at Sekolah Tinggi Bahasa Asing (STBA) Persada Bunda. In this study, descriptive research was carried out. The questionnaire, which was provided in Google form, was filled up by 21 English for Foreign Language students at random. To collect data, the students were requested to complete a questionnaire with 20 questions. After that, the researcher analyzed the data using a questionnaire regarding online learning by using Google classroom in the Covid-19 pandemic. The result of the research was in positive response of choosing “strongly agree” and “agree”. In conclusion, using Google classroom was one of the effective medium in online learning since there were some benefits to solve the learning process even though online learning by using Google classroom was less effective than face-to-face learning.

Pandemi Covid 19 tidak hanya membawa perubahan secara global pada negara kita, tetapi juga mempengaruhi proses pembelajaran di sekolah dan perguruan tinggi. Dalam rangka pencegahan penyebaran Covid-19, WHO menghimbau untuk menghentikan kegiatan-kegiatan yang menghimpun orang banyak yang menimbulkan kerumunan massa. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menggambarkan inovasi pembelajaran bahasa arab pada masa pandemi covid 19 secara daring yang diselenggarakan di STAIN Mandailing Natal sebagai upaya dalam menekan mata rantai penyebaran Covid-19 di lingkungan perguruan tinggi. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif, teknik survey dilakukan kepada mahasiswa mengenai penerapan pembelajaran daring menggunakan google form yang diisi oleh mahasiswa setelah diberikan melalui pesan WhatsApp. Subjek penelitian adalah mahasiswa Sekolah Tinggi Agama Islam (STAIN) Mandailing Natal Propinsi Sumatera Utara pada semester 2 yang telah mengambil mata kuliah bahasa arab pada semester 1. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan teknik analisis interaktif Miles & Huberman. Survey hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa : (1) mahasiswa memiliki sarana dan prasarana untuk melaksanakan pembelajaran daring. (2) inovasi pembelajaran daring efektif untuk mengatasi pembelajaran yang memungkinan dosen dan mahasiswa berinteraksi dalam kelas virtual yang dapat diakses dimana saja dan kapan saja. (3) Pembelajaran daring dapat membuat mahasiswa mampu belajar mandiri walaupun dengan banyak keterbatasan tapi tetap membuat motivasinya meningkat dalam menguasai bahasa arab
