Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate whether or not teaching biology to students at SMAN 2 Merangin using the Predict Observe Explain learning model has an effect on the cognitive learning outcomes of students. This study employs a One-Group Preetest-Posttest Design with a quantitative pre-experimental methodology. Total sampling was used, which means that all students in class X IPA 1 which amounted to 22 people were included in the research sample. Learning outcomes were assessed with a 30-question multiple-choice test used as the research instrument. Students' cognitive learning outcomes were calculated by means of a pre-test score of 77.87, a mean post-test score of 81.96, and a significance value of 0.000) <0.05 using a t-test. If the Effect Size is considered to be 0.00 or 50%, then the results show that H_a is accepted and H_o is rejected. That is, the Predict Observe Explain Learning Model has an effect on the cognitive domain of biology learning outcomes for class X IPA 1 SMAN 2 Merangin

Abstract

This study aims to describe the ability of students' mathematical representation in solving math problems, namely the Cartesian coordinate material. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method. The subjects in this study consisted of 29 students in class VIII.5 at the Salafiah Al-Falah Putak Islamic Boarding School. Collecting research data using tests, interviews, and documentation. This study uses 3 indicators of mathematical representation ability, namely mathematical representation of images, symbol representation and verbal representation ability. The results of the study on all subjects showed that the indicators for the ability to represent mathematical images were higher with a percentage of 44% above the average, 35% for symbol representation with moderate abilities and 21% for verbal representations with low abilities. Then on the results of interviews with 6 selected subjects, namely subjects with SNT and SNS codes, they were right in solving problems given with mathematical representation indicators, but subjects with SNR codes were not so good in verbal representation skills.

Abstract

The advancement of technology in education necessitates facilitators in the form of teachers who design creative teaching materials and are oriented toward technology-dominant education. The purpose of this study is to produce canva-based electronic teaching materials on cube and beam materials with a PMRI approach oriented to the Malay Islamic context that is valid, practical, and has potential effects. The developed electronic teaching material is e-modules. This type of research is called development research, which uses the Tessmer formative research model. The research process consists of two stages, namely the first, preliminary, which includes the preparation and design stages, and the second, formative evaluation, which includes the self-evaluation, expert review, one-to-one, small group, and field test stages. The presentation in the e-module teaching materials is prepared using the PMRI approach and is associated with the Malay Islamic context. The e-module teaching materials were tested on class IX MTs Fajar Siddiq students. This research obtained the result that the development of teaching materials in the form of e-modules was declared valid and practical through qualitative analysis. The validity of teaching materials is obtained at the expert review stage through validator comments and suggestions. Practicality is obtained at the one-to-one and small group stages through the analysis of student comments and suggestions. Potential effects are obtained from student evaluation tests at the field test stage. The developed e-module teaching materials have a potential effect with a percentage of completion of 81.8% on problem solving.

Abstract

This study aims to see and describe the difficulties of students in solving problems of fractional number operations in class VII and the factors that influence these difficulties. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative, qualitative research method developed by Moleong which consists of the preparation stage, implementation stage and completion stage. The subjects of this study were seventh grade students of SMP Karya Ibu Palembang. The data collection technique used is a test instrument that has been validated by three mathematicians and interviews using non-structural methods. The data analysis techniques used are 1) data reduction, 2) data presentation, and 3) conclusion drawing. The results of this study are: 1) This study has found out what difficulties are experienced by students in solving fractional number operation test questions 2) Factors that influence students so that they experience difficulties in solving fractional number operation test questions

Abstract

This study aims to produce valid PISA type questions in the context of Covid-19. The method in this research is design research research method with the type of development studies or development research. This research data collection technique by means of documentation, video recordings, and interviews. This study involved 4 validators including 3 PISA expert validators and students researching PISA. The subjects of this study were students of class VIII SMP Negeri 21 Batam who were carried out online and using the Zoom application. This study resulted in six valid PISA type questions in the context of Covid-19 at levels 1 to 6. One of the questions developed was the increase in Covid-19 cases by calculating the increase in Covid-19 cases in Jakarta Province. Based on the results of the expert review stage, the questions submitted are valid, seen from the results of comments by the validator based on content, construct and language. In the one-to-one stage, two of the three subjects were able to understand the questions well, when analyzing and understanding the PISA type question questions.

Abstract

This study aims to produce valid PISA model math problems in the Covid-19 context by connecting mathematical concepts with events in the real world. This study uses the development of the PISA model problem by Tessmer, namely formative evaluation, against the reviews of several mathematicians in assessing the design of the questions that have been designed. The data collection technique used is walk through, namely expert reviews of content, constructs, and language to determine the validity of PISA questions in the context of Covid-19. This article focuses more on the discussion of the results of expert reviews activities. So it can be concluded from the results of this study that 6 PISA model questions with the Covid-19 context in the form of descriptions have met the valid criteria based on the validation results from experts and reviews provided by colleagues.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas tentang pengaruh fenomena El-Nnino Southern Oscillation (ENSO) terhadap curah hujan yang terjadi di Kabupaten Muaro Jambi pada tahun 2015 hingga 2020. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor apa saja serta pengaruh fenomena ENSO terhadap curah hujan yang terjadi di Kabupaten Muaro Jambi. Analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu uji regresi sederhana dengan derajat kepercayaan 5%, serta menggunakan software Matlab. Hasil yang diperoleh dalam penelitian ini yaitu terdapat beberapa faktor yang mempengaruhi terjadinya fenomena ENSO diantaranya Siklus Monsoon, Iklim dan Cuaca. Hubungan antara fenomena El-Nino dan curah hujan yang terjadi di Kabupaten Muaro Jambi dapat diketahui dengan semakin tingginya curah hujan maka nilai ENSO yang diperoleh semakin rendah, begitupun sebaliknya jika curah hujannya semakin rendah maka nilai ENSO yang diperoleh semakin tinggi. Hal ini sesuai dengan analisis regresi sederhana menggunakan Software Matlab dengan nilai r yang diperoleh sebesar -0,17702 serta persamaan y adalah -22,38526 + 213,1129x.

Abstract

Di Antartika salju jarang sekali mencair bahkan saat musim panas berlangsung. Hal ini menyebabkan suhu udara di sana tidak pernah berada di atas titik beku secara signifikan selama ratusan ribu tahun lamanya. Salju yang turun tersebut terakumulasi hingga membentuk lapisan es yang kokoh hingga mencapai empat kilometer. Namun, saat ini kondisi di Antartika memperlihatkan adanya bongkahan es raksasa yang pecah. Bongkahan es tersebut terlepas dari tepian beku Antartika ke laut Weddell dan menjadi gunung es yang terbesar mengapung di dunia. Hal itu merupakan bagian dari siklus alami yang diakibatkan oleh kondisi temperatur suhu di Antartika. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh konsentrasi karbon dioksida terhadap kondisi iklim di Antartika. Dengan menggunakan metode analisis regresi dari data yang didapat dengan bantuan program SPSS, maka didapatkan hubungan antara kedua variabel tersebut dinyatakan dalam persamaan regresi berikut . Persamaan Regresi yang diperoleh selanjutnya dapat dilakukan estimasi temperatur suhu di Antartika berdasarkan nilai kadar karbon dioksida yang diberikan yakni sejak tahun 2017 hingga tahun 2030 mendatang. Dari hasil estimasi diperoleh peningkatan temperatur suhu yang cukup signifikan di Antartika seiring dengan bertambahnya kadar konsentrasi karbon dioksida, diperkirakan temteratur suhu di Antartika mencapai 20.037 . Hal ini tentu saja dapat mencairkan seluruh es yang ada di Antartika dan meningkatkan permukaan air laut di seluruh dunia.

Abstract

This study aims to produce valid PISA model math questions in the context of Covid-19. This research is a development research, namely research and development consisting of 2 stages, namely preliminary and formative evaluation stages which include self evaluation, expert reviews, one to one and small group and field test. However, this article only discusses the validity of the questions so that it only reaches the expert reviews and one to one stage. The result of this study is to obtain the validity of the development of the PISA model of mathematical problems in the context of the spread of Covid-19 from expert reviews and from one to one. With the conclusion that the product in the form of questions has been validated based on content, construct and language. An indicator that an instrument is valid is that the expert has received the instrument, both in content and format, without any revision.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui bagaimana penggunaan media manipulatif puzzle aljabar untuk melihat kemampuan berpikir matematis siswa SMP Negeri 8 Pangkalpinang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode tes, wawancara, dokumentasi, dan observasi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan deskriptif kualitatif berdasarkan data yang diperoleh dari lapangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media manipulatif puzzle aljabar pada pembelajaran matematika materi puzzle aljabar mempengaruhi kemampuan berpikir matematis siswa. Kata Kunci : Puzzle Aljabar, Kemampuan Berpikir Matematis, Media Manipulatif.
